I don't have it set up, but I understand the only options are an old PenPower

or using copy/paste from Wenlin or doing it via PenPower on a Palm or other pda.

  • Bold 9700 V5.0.0.593 Read/Input Chinese Characters?

    Hi
    I used to be able to read and input chinese character on my Bold 9700.
    Few days ago, I connected my device to the desktop manager and it prompted me to update my device os to V5.0.0.593 (Bundle 1022, Platform 5.1.0.147). Ever since then, I am unable to read or input chinese characters.
    I've read through the forum, did whichever I can find, and crashed my blackberry a few times as I think I loaded some 3rd party modules. I managed to wipe out the whole device and reload EastAsia pack (which I did at least 3 times) but am still unable to have my chinese characters on.
    Pls advice what else I can do.
    Thanks!

    By the way, it does not have the 'Simplified and Traditional Characters and Font Support' under the Application Loader...

    What characterset are you using on the client? And what database characterset are you using (as you probably would want to store them in the database too)? Are you using 6i in client/server mode or in web?

  • Problem inputting Chinese characters in oracle forms

    Hi,
    We have a Chinese character: UCS2=7A4F (UTF8=E7A98F) If we try to input it to a control in a Forms application using chanjie (key sequence h-d-b-s-p) input method, it becomes "?", but if we input it using same method in word or notepad, it shows correctly and can then be copy-and-paste to oracle forms.
    Is there some sort of implicit conversion of Chinese character input done by Oracle Forms controls such that it is unable to decode this character properly? Or is there some sort of setup that can be done to bypass this problem?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated, hopefully as soon as possible.
    Thank you very much.

  • Why aren't handwritten chinese characters showing up in applications?

    I'm on a 13" MacBook Pro, running OS X 10.9.4. I have activated [Pinyin - Simplified] in my input sources, and I have activated the option for TrackPad handwriting. Typing the pinyin and choosing the right character works fine, but I haven't been able to input chinese characters into any document via the trackpad writing method. I am able to pull up the "slate" thing, write, and choose a character, but the character just doesn't show up in the application. I've tried it with TextEdit, Word, and Safari.

  • Viewing Chinese characters in old Palm Desktop in Mac OS X 10.5.8?

    Hello.
    My client used his old Windows 2000 SP4 Dell PC for his Palm Treo 680 desktop, Hotsync (backups too), and Palm Desktop with English and Chinese data (characters with CJKOS -- http://www.dyts.com/en/products.html ). He finally switched to his 3+ years old
    MacBook Pro with updated Mac OS X 10.5.8 since Palm finally released software for it compared a few years ago. However, Mac's Palm Desktop, iCal, Addressbooks, etc. do not show these Chinese characters.
    Do you know how do we display Chinese characters in these program? Other programs like Office 2008, Firefox v3.6.25, etc. show and input Chinese characters just fine. I know we have to use TwinBridge CJK/Chinese Partner v6.0 in Windows 2000 SP4 to show them so I assume it is similiar for Mac OS X. TwinBridge doesn't seem to have a Mac OS X product port. Is there a similar program (free preferred)?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi, no idea what Palm uses, but on Mac Apps might do a Get Info on them & see what Languages are checked...
    The languages options were greyed out and could not add languages, so I had to log into the administrator-level account to add but Finder asked me where which I didn't know. I only saw the common/popular foreign languages (French, Spanish, and German) for Palm Desktop. No Chinese ones. I tried Apple's Address Books, and I saw Chinese and they were checked in non-administrator account. I guess that's not the problem.

  • Cannot Input and Display Chinese Characters by using ODBC Applications

    Dear all,
    I am trying to input the Simplified Chinese Characters in the Oracle Database Ver 9.2 running on a UNIX AIX server. The client application we are using is th MS Access 2003 running on a MS Windows XP English version SP 2 without multi-language pack. MS Office 2003 is also an English version.
    Database setting is:
    NLS_CHARACTERSET=US7ASCII
    NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET=AL16UTF16
    The Oracle Client used is also ver 9.2 with the ODBC driver ver 9.2. I have tried the following NLS_LANG settings by chaging the registry without any NLS_LANG environment settings:
    AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHT16MSWIN950
    AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHS16GBK
    AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHT16HKSCS
    AMERICAN_AMERICA.AL32UTF8
    I have tied to load some Chinese Characters in by sqlload and by using the NLS_LANG AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHT16MSWIN950, AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHS16GBK and AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHT16HKSCS, they can be display perfectly in SQLPLUS. But when using the same NLS_LANGs and display in the ACCESS, only ???? are displayed.
    When I tried to insert Chinese in ACCESS, the character changed to ???? again. No matter what Chinese characters I inserted by MS ACCESS, the ???? code can be dump with the binary code "03, 0f".
    Are there any methods or settings I need to change to make ACCESS an application for inserting and displaying Chinese characters from the Oracle database?
    I have tried to set the Non-Unicode setting in the Windows Locale setting:
    Chinese (Taiwan) (With AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHT16MSWIN950),
    Chinese (Hong Kong S.A.R) (with AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHT16HKSCS) and
    Chinese (PRC) (with AMERICAN_AMERICA.ZHS16GBK)
    when inserting the Chinese Characters by Access. But they all failed with ???? inserted in the DB.
    Please kindly advise what should be done.
    Thanks.

    Are you trying to store the character data in char/varchar2 columns?
    If that's the case then you have a problem, since a US7ASCII character set can only handle, well, ascii data.
    If you are trying to store the data in columns of nchar datatypes, then there might be a problem with literals because literals are converted to database character set first, before conversion to national (nchar) character set. Such data loss can also happen depending on how binds or oci calls are performed.
    You could use the dump() function to verify what's actually stored in a database column, without a db - client conversion happening that may distort the facts.
    Example:
    SQL> select col, dump(col, 1016) from table where some_condition;

  • Chinese characters in form input

    FormsCentral appears to permit me to enter Chinese characters into the form template itself.
    It seems to permit only Latin characters to respond to the form.
    Is that a limitation of FormsCentral, or is it a function of the language for which the browser or computer are set?
    Any suggestions?

    Just wanted to post a quick update. We just expanded our language to support 12 new languages. You can read more here.
    We support Japanese, but we don't officially support Chinese/Korean though they should work in most cases.

    You should really have no problem with Office 2004. You might make sure you have the MS Chinese Fonts selected for your text field (SimSun.ttf and PMingLiU.ttf. They appear in the Font menu as 宋体 and 新細明體.)
    Send me a screenshot if you like (tom at bluesky dot org).
    If problems continue, you can ask in the Chinese-Mac group:

  • Arabic and Chinese characters are showing ??? in PDF

    Hi
    I hava an application which calls BI publisher API to generate PDF file from rtf temlate and xml input. It is fine for English contents. But the Arabic or Chinese characters are showing ??? in PDF. If I use BI publisher Desktop to load the xml and generate pdf file, it shows correct Arabic/Chinese Characters in PDF. I also copied ALBANWTJ.ttf file to my application JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/fonts/ folder. But it still doesn't work. Anyone can help me with this?
    Thanks a lot!

    I created xdo.cfg and put it in my JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ folder. the file is configured as below:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <config version="1.0.0" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/config/">
    <properties>
    <property name="system-temp-dir">/tmp</property>
    </properties>
    <fonts>
    <font family="Default" style="normal" weight="normal">
    <truetype path="/fonts/ALBANWTJ.ttf"/>
    </font>
    </fonts>
    </config>
    But now I'm getting this error while generating pdf file:
    Adobe Reader could not open 'xxx.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
    Is there anything wrong in my xdo.cfg?
    Thanks!
