Pen Pressure Greyed out CS6
When attempting to set the brush to "pen pressure" it is greyed out.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver with the latest driver.
I have rebooted multiple times.
Reconnected the tablet multiple times.
Cleared out the options cache on the tablet.
Cleared out the options cadche on Illustrator.
None of these have worked.
I am running OSX 10.8.1 Mountain Lion with Illustrator CS6.
I'm running a 2008, Intel Macbook Pro with an Intuos 4 Tablet.
Have you looked at the tablets settings? Are Yiu sure that your drivers are updated for 10.8.1?
the latest is 6.3.3.3-3 from August 7 just makin certin it is the newest.
Did you try a new user account, did you try to reset Illustrators preferences or repair the permissions?

How to set pen pressure for Wacom tablet in AI if pressure greyed out
Wanted to share how to get pressure sensitive stroke in AICC. Go to "new brush" under brush window, and select "new calligriphic brush". There you will find it's settings, one of which is for pressure. However, it will remain greyed out unless you go to the Wacom tablet properties menu, and add AI to that list(AI must be open-then press the+ sign, and select it from the liset of open applications). Once you see AI in the applications menu, please select it. Then try creating the "new calligriphic brush" once again, and this time the pressure should be available!! Now play around with settings a bit (that's a must is you want a varied line).....took me an hour to figure this out-so hope this helps someone!!!!!
Well, it took me *some* time to get around to work on this, but I succeeded at my first attempt (amazing!), so here is my udev rule (I have followed partly pauldonnelly's suggestion and partly the wiki):
BUS=="usb", KERNEL=="event*", ATTRS{product}=="CTF-420 V2.0-0", SYMLINK+="tablet", MODE="0664"
Then I have configured my xorg.conf to look for the device on /dev/tablet.
I will put a SOLVED sign on this thread.

So, I'm having an odd issue with my tablet and its pressure sensitivity with CS6. I've got a Genius MousePen tablet; M508W model. I can use it on my mac computer with photoshop elements; pen pressure works just fine with it. In CS6, when I do the stroke preview for all of my burshes, it shows the tapering-- as well as in the brush settings. When I go to make an actual rush stroke though, it doesn't apply the pressure settings. I've got the most recent drivers for the tablet downloaded, All of the old driver software was uninstalled, I've made sure that the drivers are for my version of windows, I've tried setting the compatability back to windows 7 and using the windows 7 drivers, but STILL nothing. The only reason I'm lead to believe that this is an issue with CS6 is that the tablet works with PS Elements just fine. If anyone could help shed some light on the situation, I'd greatly appreciate it.
I am having a similar issue.
Working in CS6 on a Cintiq Companion.
Pressure sensitivity disappears while I'm working.
The only way to get it back is to quit out of Photoshop and relaunch.
The pressure sensitivity works fine in Autodesk Sketchbook. -
Uneven pen pressure in Photoshop CS6 Extended with Wacom Intuos5
I got Photoshop CS6 Extended recently, but the lines I draw in it aren't smooth, like they should be (example below).
The tablet produces perfect lines in any other bit of software (Flash, ToonBoom, etc.), but not Photoshop. I've tried lots of different solutions (uninstalling and reinstalling it, reverting back to an earlier driver, clearing preferences, etc.), to no avail. Oddly, my Intuos3 works fine in Photoshop, for a few minutes, before it crashes. If I try to adjust the Wacom Tablet Properties for CS6, it doesn't recognize any changes, but if I adjust the settings for Photoshop CS4, it does. All Wacom Drivers are up-to-date.
Any ideas on how to fix this would be most appreciated.I've tried all of the above and had no results. I have the exact same issue as you, specially when working with a big brush. Even in the tablet settings panel I can see the sensitivity display go nuts after a certain threshold over 30% of pressure. I tend to use the hardest possible. At this point I think it's probably a hardware problem with the pen or tablet surface but still, I had an intuos 3 for many years without any trouble and the intuos 5 is giving me problems now . Also I replied to you becouse this was kind of the only part of the internet where I could find the exact same issue with a screencap of it. thank's in advance to anyone that have a workaround or news about this!!!

Surface Pro 3 no pen pressure in CS6?
I have just purchased a Surface Pro 3 and have downloaded Adobe Suite, particularly to use Photoshop CS6.
However, I have no pen pressure in Photoshop CS6! It's incredibly frustrating!
I can draw with the Surface Pen, but there is no pressure sensitivity - even when I switch sensitivity on. (I am experienced using Photoshop and understand how to use these functions).
The Surface Pen seems to be working fine in all other applications.You say the pen is "working fine" in all other applications, but does this mean you're getting pressure sensitivity in other applications?
I just got a SP3 a couple of months ago and as I recall, once you calibrate it and pair it the Surface Pen will function, but without pressure sensitivity. After doing some research I ended up downloading and installing the N-trig Wintab driver and I now have pressure sensitivity in a variety of art programs, e.g. Photoshop CC & CC 2014, ArtRage, Sketchbook Pro, Manga Studio 5, and Painter 2015.
I understand that Microsoft has now released Surface Hub, an app that enables sensitivity adjustment and is available in the Microsoft store. My impression is that you would install this for newer apps and only if you have not already installed the Wintab driver. The Surface Hub seems to be getting mixed reviews.

Photoshop CS6 3D menu grey out
Hi everyone. I am now trying to use photoshop CS6 3D features. And I found out that no matter what I select, the 3D menu is still grey out.
What should I do to solve this?

My colour and colour settings options are 'greyed out' on my Epson printer pane since updating to Yosemite and CS6,this happened before after running a software update on the printer driver! The driver version at that time was 6.62 and now it has updated to version 9.00....could this be the problem??
That's strange ... did you try restarting before printer install? You also may need to delete the printer itself (System Preferences > Printers & Scanners) and add it again , in order to access the proper drivers (?)
Can you show screen shot(s) of your incomplete print dialog? -
CS6 Encore launches but all options are greyed out
The headline says it all. I'm using CS6 on a MacBook Pro, OS 10.7. Previously Encore has worked well. After the most recent update, Encore will launch but all of the options are greyed out. I can't start a new project, etc. When I try to open a previous Encore project, I receive an error message that some needed software is missing. Any ideas to help me solve the problem? With many thanks.
Christopher BI suspect that same sort of issues that one gets when the activation is messed up. I think the resolution is deactivate and reactivate.
Are you missing any presets in Premiere? I would look at some of the issues in the Premiere forum to further diagnose the problem and look for the recommended fix. -
3D Option is now greyed out in CS6, worked fine before, no changes to system hardware
Hello, I'm running Windows 7 64bit, and I have 2 AMD Radeon 6950's in crossfire. It has only been a couple of months since I used CS6's create 3D extrusion layer, and it used to work fine, but now it's greyed out no matter what type of layer I'm selected on. Photoshop is seeing my graphics card just fine http://i.imgur.com/LREws.png and even says that 3D is an enabled feature if I mouse-over the Graphics Processor Settings box. I have the latest 12.8 AMD drivers. So, something between Photoshop and my graphics card are no longer playing nice - maybe an AMD Catalyst software setting? Although I've made sure that all my settings were restored back to default. I should also note that all other GPU enhancement features that I'm aware of seem to be working fine (like the quick zoom rendering, etc.)

And thanks for that follow-up. Even though it seems embarrassing, don't be worried over it. We all zone out and do this sort of thing from time to time and your description of why it happened will no doubt help others who come across this thread.
I feel a bit silly as well, as I certainly know RGB is a requirement of 3D, and now you mention it I even remember going through this before with someone, so I should have thought of it.
Perhaps the best thing to do is to ask for / post a screen grab first, before delving into a problem. It would probably have jumped out at someone pretty quickly.

InDesign CS6 and OpenGL 1.5 / image frames grey out in INDML
Hi everyone,
I work for a non-profit and I just upgraded to InDesign CS6 on my (signifcantly more robust) machine. Now thier (significantly wimpier) machine needs to be upgraded too as we send INDD files back and forth on a monthly basis, and both sides do edits to the file. The INDML file I export out of CS6 is greying out many of the linked photos (but not all) when they read the INDML file in with CS4.
Two things:
1) Upgrading the slower machine to CS6 is the place, but the hitch is that computer has a graphics card that is only OPENGL 1.5 capabale (GMA X3100). The CS6 specs state you need a card that supports OPENGL 2.0. We can't afford to replace the computer, so: I wouldn't dream of running photoshop CS6 on this old machine, but could InDesign CS6 function on OPENGL 1.5?
2) Alternatively, why are only some of the pictures greying out in the INDML file? Can I fix this CS6 > CS4 issue without upgrading to CS6?
Help! Thanks!The system requirements for stand-alone ID don't mention OpenGL at all. You might want to download a trial and see how it runs.
.idml does not include any link previews (that's one of the main reasons the file is so compact). Images that are showing up on the other end must be accessible so that ID can regenerate the previews. -
Why is my "Open in Adobe Audition" greyed out in PP cs6?
I have the cs6 master collection, pc, with all the updates yet my "Open in Adobe Audition" greyed out in PP cs6?
I cant dynamic link from PP cs6 to audition cs6. Encore & AFX dynamic links work. Audition opens fine on its own & works fine.For those of you visiting this page because you're having this problem, what's happened is that Adobe, in it's infinite wisdom, has installed a second folder of program files when updating from 6.0 to 7.0 (or perhaps a smaller update). You need to eliminate duplicate folders so Premiere Pro understands where to look. I noticed that my Audition was all by itself in a second Adobe folder, so I moved its contents to the other Adobe folder with the rest of the program's files and made sure they sat squarely in the Audition folder where they once were. I then right clicked on one of the .sesx files and opened it with Audition and viola. I can edit Premiere audio in Audition again.
PS Adobe, I literally use this ONLY because the denoiser in Premiere Pro doesn't work for the first 2 seconds you play a clip. It takes away noise nicely, just never for the first two seconds after I hit the play button, as if it's trying to use that time to figure out what to remove. If it worked correctly, I wouldn't hear the noise go away in my videos after the first two seconds of a clip and I wouldn't have to export to Audition and waste hard-drive space and time. -
Photoshop CS6 Ext. 3D button greyed out?

On a trial version of Photoshop CS6 extended trial the 3D links in the tab is greyed out. and nor can I make any 3D objects. Why is this? This is my System Info from PS (the first part only). Photoshop CS6 extensions menu greyed out
I just installed CS6 via Creative Cloud. Before that I had a retail copy installed which I removed prior.

Any ideas?Launch Adobe Extension Manager and verify that standard extensions liek Kuler are actualyl installed. If not, let it check for those and install/ activate them along with any potential updates to those extensions.

Flash Pro CS6 Update menu greyed out + AAM fail,supressed by the Admin - Win7-64
Hi,
I want to update Flash Pro Cs6 (PC Win7 64bit) to Update2.
However, the menu Help>Updates is greyed out.
The Update2 AMM patch installer says "updates could not be applied. Contact your system Admin. Updates have been suppressed by the Admin"
before starting.
This seems to point towards a privilege issue but, I have tried to :
run Flash as admin, run the updater as admin, install flash logged in as admin and updater logged in as admin,
without any luck....

Go to the Adobe.com Product updates site and choose the update you want to download.
When the download completes, start the update by double-clicking the Set-up.exe (Windows)
Prompted to shut down conflicting applications, do the following:
Windows
Right-click the taskbar and select Task Manager.
Select the Processes tab, select a conflicting process, and click End Process.
Repeat for any additional conflicting processes.
Check to see if the update downloaded successfully.

I'm trying to do statistics in Numbers, specifically t tests. In EXCEL, I could generate p-values and using tinv function, identify the relevant table values of t (to compare to my calculated t). Anyone know how to do this in Numbers?

Since updating my Mac to 10.8.4 any external hard disk doesn't show on Finder sidebar (but shows on desktop). Anyone else have the same problem? It's annoying because now I can't use Finder sidebar for drag and drop to thumb drive etc. Thanks for you
