Pen tool error

Question

Hi I got some problems with pen tool. When I want to use pen tool and select shapes I get error which says "could not use pen tool because of program error" I really dont understand whats happening with photoshop. Thanks for help

Generally speaking, if you have a PC I'd suggest checking to see if there are updated drivers for your system - for example, check the web site of the maker of your video card to see whether they've released a new display driver for your hardware and operating system.
If you have a Mac, well, you can try tweaking the settings in the Preferences - Performance dialog, making sure to quit and restart Photoshop when you're done.
Try resetting the tool:
Failing that, you can request Photoshop clear all your preference settings to defaults.  It's not unheard of that Photoshop's preferences get corrupted into a state where things don't work right, and this corrects the problems.
To do that, press Control - Shift - Alt (or on a Mac Command - Shift - Option) immediately upon cold-starting Photoshop, then confirm the pop-up that asks you to confirm deletion of your current preferences.  Of course, after doing this, you'll have to set all the preferences again to your liking.
