Go to the link below.Enter your Product Number as listed on Service Tag attached to bottom of notebook (may be under battery). You can also get the Product Number by pressing Fn + Esc key. After entering PN, click Next ,then choose Software & Drivers. On the next page use the dropdown to select your OS (probably Windows 7 64bit). A list will populate with drivers. Download & install the latest Audio driver.

If still no sound, try a hard reset, works sometimes.Disconnect all external devices first.
    1-remove power cord and battery
2-press power button for 30 seconds
3-reinstall only power cord for first startup.
    4-power on

On my iPhone 4, people cant hear me when I make and / or receive normal (GSM) phone calls. But when I make/receive calls using internet-based / native apps like viber or skype, people can hear me just fine. I have tried recording my voice using voice memos - this works. And have already tried different SIM cards but the problem persists.
I have taken my phone to an authorized Apple service center, where they restored my phone to factory settings, but still facing the same issue. They service center directed me to Apple Customer Care Hotline, where I have now spent 3+ hours explaining my issue and yet no one can resolve it. The easy answer if to replace the phone - and since it is out of warranty, I am expected to pay for it.
Additionally, the customer service has been so rude and confrontational that it has completely changed my view of Apple and its customer focus. I am a disappointed and angry customer today - people would be surprised to hear just how rude customer service was including making statements such as "Apple doesnt make infallible products, that's why warranty is needed for our products" and that "every product undergoes a problem at some stage, so do ours!" There goes whatever confidence I had...
My concern is simple - if no one at Apple and / or its CS hotline is able to address my issue comprhensively and keep telling me that they have never encountered a precedent before, then with what right can they expect me to pay for a replacement?! I am NOT here to fund Apple's research into their product faults and manufacturing.
And even though a customer is out of warranty, is it too much to expect an Apple product to work well for at least a 'reasonable' period of time. My phone is less than 18 months old and has been facing this issue for the past 2 months - surely the longevity of Apple products is more than 18 months!
Just a sad sad day for an Apple customer, compounded by unjustifiably rude and aggressive staff. And still no resolution to my problem.

I am having the same issue - with my last 2 iPhone 4's. My first handset each time I was on a call wether it was up to my ear or on loud speaker, the call would automatically mute even though the mute button wouldn't show up as highlighted. Pressing the mute button on and off during the call doesn't fix it either. I rang Apple and asked what some of their trouble shooting solutions were. I got told that it might be a software issue and to install the latest software update. This failed. I then got told to uninstall the software on the phone and do a complete restore. This also failed. After trying the troubleshooting suggestions, I took the phone into my provider and they sent me out a new phone within a week under warranty claiming it was a hardware issue and probably just a "glitch" with that particular phone. This was not the case....
After receiving my second iPhone 4, I was hopeful that it would work. For the first couple of days, making/receiving calls was not an issue. Until after about a week, the same problem started again. In one instance I had to hang up and call back 4 times and the call would still automatically mute after about 5 seconds. Also on the second handset, the main camera located on the back of the phone has red and blue lines running through it and can't take a decent picture. So back to the store I go to get another replacement - Again.
For a phone that is rated highly and as a keen Apple product purchaser, I am a bit disappointed with the experience I have had with the iPhone 4. Let's hope they find a fix sometime soon because this is becoming a bit beyond a joke.....!!

  • People Can Hear My PC Audio Over My Microphone

    Hello,
I just purchased a Fatal1ty MKII analog headset from Newegg, and people are able to hear my PC sound over my microphone. I am using Mumble, and people can hear whatever happens on my PC audio. For example, if I am playing music, playing a game, or other people are talking at the same time, they can hear my audio. I can physically unplug the microphone boom from my headset and they can still hear my audio. It is really annoying to others, and if this can't be fixed I am going to have to return the headset.
I previously had the original Fatal1ty headset (analog) and it worked flawlessly on my system (ie: did not have this problem). I really like the audio quality and the ear cups on the headset and would like to find a way to fix this if possible.
    Thanks.

Ok, so disabling the sound card prompted me to reboot. I cancelled, and proceeded to play music I still hear music, the microphone does too. On reboot, I have no more sound, no microphone either.
On enabling my sound card again, sound worked (without reboot). I proceeded to try to record the audio feedback over my headset. It was still happening. I noticed something weird in the recording program, what I noticed was that the level of audio the microphone picked up was inversely related to how loud the headset was set with the inline volume control. Check this out:
The audio played was a constant sine wave tone. This was with the microphone boom physically disconnected from the headset (as it is removable). When I play it back, I can hear a somewhat tinny version of the original sound. If I unplug the microphone from my sound card, I get nothing at all. Now, if I plug in my old headset (the original Fatal1ty analog headset) the echo is completely absent:
The jitters you see outside of the microphone switch activity are just the general noise that I am replacing the headset to get rid of. This test was done exactly as the first one, with the headset's microphone boom disconnected. I adjusted the volume levels during recording and there was no increase or decrease in noise or echo.
To me, this is pretty solid evidence that either my specific headset is defective, or that the Creative Fatal1ty MKII headset line is of very poor quality. Where can I find official support? On the Creative site, I can't really find anything relating to official support channels, all I see is this forum.

  • People can hear me, i cant hear them

people can hear me on phone call, I can't hear them

this is happening to me now!!! I've had my phone for a year and 5 days now and it just started doing that a day or two after having my phone for a year. i notice that if i call with speaker i'll hear the ringing and other people but if i don't call first with speaker i wont hear anything. this is upsetting! will i be able to get my phone replaced at no cost or fix at very little cost? i honestly don't remember damaging it in anyway.

  • Need to put speaker phone on so people can hear me

I need to either put my earphones in or put my speaker phone on so that other people can hear me during a telephone call......does anyone know what can be wrong??? I made a call on Thursday and it was fine.. thanks

The top mic is faulty. If you have Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, blow out the small hole next to the Headphone Jack hole, or clean this small hole.

  • People can hear my sound through my apple headset mic?

So i have the new Apple headphones, and when i talk to people on my Mac, they can sometimes here what i'm listening to. Specificly like ads, voices on any videos and stuff. They say they can hear it perfectly as though it's feeding directly to my mic? Is there a way to fix this?

  • When audio chatting, other people can hear my headphone's sound

    Retina MBP 15'
Say I'm in an audio chat with someone using headphones with mic and are playing music. They can hear the music quite clear.
    What was the problem?

Primirily two clients, QQ and Messages. All the same: the other side can hear whatever comes out of my earpiece, not only music or movie , but also system sound.
I'm using the mike on my earpiece and I'm sure the earpiece is fine. I've tried two kinds of earpieces from UE and Audio-technica , both with mike and both had the same problem.
If I use the computer's mike, which is when I use a earpiece with no mic. Things are totally normal.
I'm playing music/playing movie from my Mac. No surrounding sound source.
Thanks for your concern....This thing has troubled me for monthes....I'd really like to see it solved finally...

After upgrading my iPad 1 to OS 5.1, I got trouble to use Skype. I can not hear the calling tone from other during the usage of Skype-to-Skype. But when I touch the answer key, I still can hear other's voice and other also can hear my voice. If I use earphone, the calling tone from other is audible. There is also no problem of test call. What's going on with my iPad 1? I do hope someone can help me to fix this problem.

    Hi,
I experienced similar behavior (neither Keychain Access nor Safari would start, Chrome cannot access https sites, etc.). It got fixed by following instructions in this article:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/163227/2011/10/fix_a_lion_file_opening_hang_in_m ac_os_x_10_7_2.html which I found in this thread: http://att.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=13625027#post13625027
Basically remove the ~/Library/Application Support/Ubiquity and restart. OSX will create a new one with the right permisions.
    /cheers

  • People can hear me on video iChat but I can't hear them???????????

HELP! I can no longer hear the people I'm chatting with. They can hear me and we can both see each other but I can't hear them. What's going on? iChat was working fine before last night. Because our power was shut off for 5 hours, I had to shut off and unplug my computer. When the power came back on, I plugged everything back in started my computer (plus rebooted all my Broadband and wireless). Did that do something to iChat or is there another problem. My son rechecked his end and everything is working fine for them. Any suggestions. I'm a novice at this so please use "lay" terms.
    Thanks,
    pencilgal

I would check System Preferences > Sound Output is pointing to your Poutput device and the volume is high enough.
I would check iChat > Preferences > Video Section and any drop down that shows up if you have multiple devices (And it has to Agree with System Preferences).
If it is external speakers are they turned back On ?
Check the iChat > Video Menu has Microphone enabled. This should not effect you but check.
Check the iChat View menu has SHow AUdio Status selected (ticked)
Did you unplug any exteranl Speakers or Headset ?
    Is it all Buddies ?

  • People can hear themselves when they call me

I have a 8900 Curve which I connect via Bluetooth to mt car kit.  However when people phone me they can hear themselves talking.  This didn't happen on my previous phone.  I presume that the microphone on the blackberry is still picking up sound as well as the car kit.  Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

I have same problem and so does my gf. We have the Nokia Bluetooth car kit with BB C8900. I don't think it has anything to do with microphone on BB as I have tried moving the BB away from where I am when speaking. I turned the volume down on the actaul car kit itself. It does not get rid of the problem, but seems to help.

  • Hear Crackling+Beeping Sound Through Speakers (intermittently frequent)

When my Powerbook is on, I hear this crackling/beeping sound through my sound output (same through headphones as well). It just started acting up a couple days ago and hasn't stopped. It's rather annoying when I am trying to listen to music or even if no sound is coming through at all.
I don't know if you have recognised this, but if you are in a car or near some type of radio and a mobile phone is being used near it, the radio usually emits a little static-beeping sound because of the interference it is receiving from the telephone waves. That's the sound I am getting from my laptop. This has never happened before.
Is this a sound card malfunction that can be fixed by resetting it or removing and reinserting? Is there anything I can do? Maybe run some sound tests, I dunno. How?
    Thanks.

Hi, ljosh. If anyone who had seen your post knew exactly what to do, I doubt that they'd be keeping it a secret from you. I don't know what to do about your problem, but I can tell you that there's no sound card in a Powerbook for you to fiddle with: the audio circuitry is all on the main logic board. There's no room in there for a separate sound card.
All I can suggest is that you start up from a bootable CD and see whether the crackling continues when none of the software (including the OS) on your hard drive is in use. If it does, your Powerbook needs a hardware repair.
