People can't hear me on the other end when I make facetime calls from my Imac

People can't hear me on the other end when I make facetime calls from my IMAC

I had the same problem on my brand new iMac and Apple Care solved it for me. Very simple.
1. Restart your computer
2. As soon as you hear the chime, press the SHIFT button until you see the Apple logo, then release it. This will put your computer into safe mode. When your computer boots up to the home screen in safe mode, Facetime will NOT work. That's normal.
3. After your computer finishes booting up to your home screen, restart it normally. That solved the problem for me.
Apple Care said that putting the computer into safe mode results in a diagnostics check that can fix certain problems. I hope this helps someone else.

  • Can bearly hear the other person when I make a call...

When I make a call from my iPhone the other
end is very faint. I'm sure theres some wicked
simple solution on like the settings or something
but I can't find it! Any suggestions?

the other person can hear you fine, but you can't hear them?
the simplest thing is the volume rocker on the side, while you are on a call make sure your volume is adjusted all the way up.. after that make sure you don't have the plastic covering the speaker
after those try a soft reset by holding the home button and the sleep/wake button until you see the apple logo, if that doesn't work try a restore from itunes.. if you are still having the problem after that it is time to call apple 1-800-myiphone

  • Why can't people hear me on the other end on my phone

why can't people hear me on the other end on my phone

your mic might not be working... exit the phone app and double click on the home button. this will bring up the multitasking apps. press and hold the apps and delete all of them with the red delete sign (does not remove the apps from the system). then shut down your iphone and turn it back on in a few seconds. after this, make sure mute is off (it will light up blue if its on) and try calling someone. this should solve the problem

  • No sound for incoming calls but it works using speaker and earpiece. I can't hear anything but the other party can hear me clearly. I was told it's hardware problem. Would anyone please help? Thanks

This is an annoying problem for many people. Most likely your dock connector (on the bottom where you plug in your phone) is dirty or screwed up and is probably just coincidence that it happened after you updated. Some people have had success cleaning the port with a dry clean tooth brush. There is a long discussion going on at the thread I linked below. Good luck...

  • Can't make Facetime calls using my  iMAC

Recently I can not receive or make Facetime calls using my iMAC.  I can make and receive then on my iPhone.  If I make a Faectime call using my iMAC it says the person is not available to Facetime OR it makes the connection but immediately says "call failed".  If someone Facetimes me, my phone rings but not my iMAC.

The Apple article below may help.

Previously I can able to make facetime call from my phonebook contacts  but after upgrade to iOS 8 I can't find any facetime option in contacts detail. Even can't make call from Facetime app, here facetime calling option showing grayed. I can receive all incoming call and can make call (outgoing) from recent incoming call log

It is a 1 week old macbook air and I'm assuming it has the latest iOS installed but don't know how to check as this is my first Macbook.
MacBook Air does not run iOS.  It runs OS X (pronounced as in OS - ten).  You can check which version you have by clicking the Apple logo in the upper left of the menu bar, then "About This Mac".  The current version is OS X 10.8.4.  If you do not have that version, you can click "Software Update" just below the "About This Mac" entry under the Apple logo.
Anyway, typically, the reason for the FaceTime behavior you're describing is a less-than-robust internet WiFi connection.

  • Why can I make FaceTime calls from my iPhone but not from my Mac?

Facetime on my Mac sets up properly, links to my contacts, and appears to make calls (i.e., it "rings"). But it doesn't actually connect to the other person. However, I can make Facetime calls on my phone. Huh?

  • I am having a problem moving files from a iMac  in location mac in another location.  I have tried using Dropbox and the Public folder in the i disc.  When I drag the files into dropbox they become alias' and I can't open them at the other end beca

I am having a problem moving files from an imac in one location to an imac inanother location.  I have tried using Dropbox which is installed in both locations but when i drad a file ino yhe app it becomes an alias.  When I get to the other location it says I can't open the file because the " original application that created it is not present".  This is despite the fact that the app that created both files is installed in both computers.  If I use the Public folder in the idisc, when I get to the other location the file isn't there.  Am I forgetting to turn something on or off?  Should I manually sync the Public folder and if so how? Thanks

  • TS1630 People can't hear me on the phone unless I put the speaker on.any suggestions on how to amend this problem.

I am having trouble when people ring me I have to use the speaker for people to hear and understand what I'm saying.any suggestions on how to amend this problem as it is now starting to get annoying.

if your have tried powering it off then i would back up your information import picture and then restore your phone to new in itunes. if that doesnt work then it is hardware. at that point if your with in your limited hardware warranty it is free if your not its a out of warranty repair for 149$

  • My iphone can make calls and receive them, but i cannot hear anything on the other end.  Anyone ever have this problem?

    any suggestions?

I had this same problem, but it seems to have disappeared after I discovered that Bluetooth was on and turned it off (General menu in the Settings app).

  • How can I change the number displayed when I make a call/send a sms? Despite transferring my old number across to my iphone messages.and Facetime are made from the original sim number and not mine. Any ideas?

I've transferred my old number by PAT code to my new iphone and most of the time it works fine however there are problems when replying to tests and using Facetime when the original sim muber is displayed. My frined can text me on my correct number but if I reply she receives it from the different number. Also when using Facetime the number displayed is the one the came with the iphone. Anyone know what to do to get the number id correct?

Tell her to contact her carrier and get a new phone number.
