Welcome to the discussions, Brett. Is you iWeb site hosted on .Mac? ...If not, blog comments aren't supported.
Here's what iWeb's Help viewer says:
Allowing visitors to add comments and attachments...
If you publish your site to .Mac, you can let visitors post comments to your blog or podcast entries.
To allow visitors to add comments and attachments:
Select a blog or podcast page in the site organizer.
If the Blog & Podcast Inspector isn't open, click Inspector in the toolbar (or choose View > Show Inspector), and then click the Blog & Podcast Inspector button.
In the Blog pane of the inspector, select "Allow comments."
To permit visitors to attach files (such as images) to their comments, select "Allow attachments."
If you later deselect the "Allow comments" checkbox, no new comments may be added; previously written comments are not affected.
Tip: Only group members can post comments to a website published to a group. To limit who can post to your site, you can password-protect it.

Mac users can leave comments without an issue. PC users get to the comment screen, type the captcha, and nothing happens. Have tried it myself on 2 PCs and had same issue. Any advice?

  • Error when people attempt to add comment on my blog?!?

    hey guys, first post!
Ok, so I've just enabled people to add comments to my blog, but when ever anyone clicks the 'add comment' button, a box pops up and says 'We're sorry. We are having a problem processing your request'. to see in action, go to www.theeversonfamily.co.uk and go to my blog.
what can i do to sort this out? Really owe anyone who can help out!
    thanks chris

I was having this same problem so this is what fixed it, I don't know if it will stay fixed because I just did it a few minutes ago but it did allow comments to be posted.
    Click on Inspector.
    Click on RSS.
Check Allow Comments AND Allow Attachments.
    Then Publish.
Once I saw that it was working I went back and unchecked Allow Attachments and it still worked. Good luck!

  • Leaving Comments on your iWeb Pages

What kind of service can I use to enable users to leave comments on my blog posts or on my pages? One that's noninvasive and super easy-to-use and most important of all, free, would be ideal. Please let me know what you use and/or how to use it.

Are you publishing to MobileMe or a 3rd party server? For regular pages you might use a guestbook like in this demo page: Guestbook.
I'll guess that you're using a 3rd party server since with MMe blogs can have comments added.
For 3rd party servers one of these might work:

  • IWeb Blog - How do people leave comments?

Hi - I have made a site with iWeb and added a blog. Even though I have 'ticked' the box to allow comments I can't see where or how anyone can leave any?
Can anyone help me with what I am doing or not doing?

You can use a 3rd party comments site to add to your blog page without having to change servers. This one has been recommended by several users: http://www.intensedebate.com/
Another one is http://aboutecho.com/products-overview.html but I think that's not free if there's over so many comments. I've not used either so can't comment on their effectiveness first hand.

  • Can't leave comments on blogs using iPad

I cannot comment on blogs using my iPad. Have tried Safari and Chrome. Found a suggestion to try Opera but it is so slow it won't even load the sites. Any suggestions?

The problem seems to be specific to blogs. I enter the required information in the comment fields, i.e., name, email, website, and comment--then hit the submit button. The site goes through refresh as if processing comment but comment doesn't appear. I have researched online and this appears to be a common problem when using iPads to leave comments on blogs. The only suggested solution has been to use Opera browser but it is extremely slow. Here are some examples of sites:

also, it doesn't make a difference if the site is mobile responsive.

People cant hear me when they ring me or i ring them but when i put them on loudspeaker they can hear me :/ Help?!

Still sounds like the mic to me. There are 2 on an iPhone 4 one on the top of the phone one under, each has a separate task. Sounds to me like your top mic is on the blink.

  • Comments on the blog of iweb '06 does not work

When someone tries to leave a comment on my blog on my iweb website, it seems to not allow people to do so. What could the problem possibly be?

If you still have problems with comments on your iWeb blog, you could hyperlink from your iWeb site to a web-based blog. For example, the free Posterous is as simple as blogging gets — you can post a blog entry via email or from a web browser:
...And since your blog would no longer be stored on your Mac, you'll avoid the future possibility of having to do a long and slow +Publish All+.
If you went with a new blogging system, you could perhaps use an archiving app such as iterasi to preserve your current blog for posterity before removing it from iWeb.

  • HT6154 people cant hear me on a call on my iphone 6

people cant hear me when im on the phone. my side cuts off.

    Hello Bailey5071,
So if people cannot hear you, then I would try out the steps in the article below to test it out to help isolate the issue with the microphone on your iPhone. You may also want to try with a headset or on speaker phone as well.
If your voice is too faint or sounds unclear using iPhone, or iPod touch
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5183
Follow these steps, testing after each with Voice Memos.
Unplug anything plugged into the headset jack.
If you're on a call and holding your phone next to your ear, speak into the microphone and make sure you don't block it with your fingers or shoulder.
If you're using a screen protector or case that covers the microphone, remove it. Clear any debris from the microphones.
    Restart your device.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
If you've tried these steps and people still can't hear you well on calls, contact Apple Support.
    Regards,
    -Norm G.

  • I can't leave comments on embedded pages on Blogger.

When using Firefox, I cannot leave comments on embedded pages on Blogger. It won't let me use my Google account or openID. This is ONLY happening in Firefox. It also won't acknowledge that I'm logged into my blog when I need to do embedded editing, but continuously bounces me back to my dashboard. This is NOT a blogger problem. Again, it is only happening in Firefox.
Other pages where I'm having problems is when I'm asked if I want to sign into a page using an existing account like my Facebook account. Firefox just won't keep the information long enough to allow a connection. ALL other sites, passwords, and cookies appear to be working.
I've cleared out cookies, caches, updated Facebook, etc. I don't know what else to try.

The way I get around it is to view it in IE tab. You can dl from mozilla. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/92382/

  • Suddenly unable to post comments on iWeb blog - image verification error

People suddenly can't post comments to my blog page (web.me.com/stannerory). I've tried this myself, and posting continuously fails at the image verification process, one receives an error message that says the letters entered don't match the image, yet they do. Someone suggested that cutting the comment, closing, reopening, and pasting, and doing the process a second time would work, but I haven't found this to be successful either. Is there some kind of a workaround? Anyone else having this issue?

    OT -
    Thanks for your efforts.
It seems to be intermittent now, which is an improvement. I still can't add or remove a comment without fail. It's some consolation that it might be a server issue, but if it were, wouldn't there be all kinds of unhappy Apple users complaining about the issue, AND wouldn't the mobileMe website have some kind of problem indicator light flashing? Of course it would.

  • Comments added to blog change page's appearance

    Hi,
I'm sorry if this is a repeat posting, but I couldn't find anything about it after a perfunctory search.
When people add comments to my blog, it upsets the vertical layout of the page (i.e. white space doesn't stretch as far as it should). Looking at the pages in iWeb, there doesn't seem to be a problem.
    This page for example:
    http://web.mac.com/mccormickdavid/iWeb/TrombonesInTechno/Blog/2E725615-0820-47EB -A9A7-9256043FABA9.html
the space behind 'bosh blog podcast photos' should be white up to the black bar (and appears so in iWeb). Same applies at the bottom of the page.
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance,
    David
p.s. apologies for the mundane nature of the site.

I have seen this problem with the shifting background before. Your ultimate option is to eliminate the page background and let the browser background show through.
Another workaround might be to make a screenshot of a square of white space (your background), then use that square as your page background image...choose tiled in the dropdown menu of the inspector.

  • Can't leave comments on websites using FF4

I have just updated to FF-4 and suddenly find that I am unable to leave a comment on various websites. When I attempt to "post" the comment, a new blank tab opens and the comment is never posted.

The problem seems to be specific to blogs. I enter the required information in the comment fields, i.e., name, email, website, and comment--then hit the submit button. • Since I have received my last update (ver. 3.6.13) from Firefox I am unable to leave comments on Fox News. What is the problem?

I read many blogs and news sources and I leave comments. I used to be able to leave comments on Fox News. Now when I press the button to leave a comment nothing happens and the box to leave a comment in does not pop up.

Apparently TalkTalk mail will work with Firefox 4 and Firefox 5 ''if'' you set the browser to ''lie'' to TalkTalk mail by saying that you are still using version 3.6.
You can find the instructions for that in a post on the TalkTalk forums: [http://www.talktalk.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=185113#post2452787 Firefox 4 & TalkTalk webmail - Forums].
Note: when you open about:config the first time, it will display a warning message that you should be careful with the changes you make. That's definitely good to bear in mind.
    Does it work?
