People Have Given Up on the "Hiss"?
Hey Guys,
Just got a week 21 Macbook Pro with glossy screen and I noticed the hiss. Less prominent on the AC, but you can easily hear it on the battery. I guess apple has not fixed this issue yet and people are just accepting this as normal? Let me know what you think.

This is the exact point I was trying to make Matthew and I got people (apple fan boys) angry at me for not being educated enough to discern between the noises. Why has this not been addressed? This is the 22nd week of production already, it should have been first on their list of things to fix.
I will have no choice but to take mine back yet again for a full refund because it is unusable in my office and I know Apple will turn around and sell it to some poor b a s t a r d as refurbished because "It's within spec", which sickens me, because electronics that operate properly should not make electro static noises.
But Apple claims this is within spec and they keep selling them. I am not quite sure what that means to be honest, but if I buy a Ferrari and I was told the same thing by the guy at the dealership, that it is within spec for the engine to make noise like it was going to break and to just deal with it because that is how they built the cars now, I would not spend a dime on it and I would leave the dealership without even giving him my name. I feel a premium product which demands a premium price (2700 is not cheap for a laptop) is expected to perform at certain level above the $499 machines you get from Dell, BTW those are silent . I will stick with my G5 for now, because this MBP is a f---ing paperweight that is doing nothing but sleeping most of the day because I can't deal with the high pitched noise.
If they want to charge me 200 - 300 whatever their **** restocking fee is, for the use I got out of it for 2 weeks, I don't really care, it's better then keeping this POS and ending up tossing it out the window one day and hurting someone. Saying this is hard because I've used macs since I was 11 and to see this beloved company produce such garbage is irritating.
I would understand huge problems with a 1st gen machine, but something this trivial, like a potential capacitor that vibrates, is quite amazing to me.

I've lost a load of notes, but dont know why or how to get them back. I cant find the folder that is in my Yahoo account that people have suggested might be the location for the messages. It should keep asking for the password, because it's trying to check for purchases... As soon as you login, it will see you have pending downloads and create the downloads section on the left below Purchases under the Store section. Then it will start the music downloads there, as they will be listed one below the other.
You could just try to check your account balance or view your account and that will trigger a password request too. You can just click on that and say that now iTunes keeps asking for the password and ask him to help you with that. Trick would be to interrupt him so that he carries on with another task after, so he doesn't notice the download. Or you carry on with email or browsing which you were "busy" with when iTunes interrupted you for the password (stupid iTunes) -
i am here to share my feeling about apple and its co partner
i have been using apple iphone five s since five month i am happy with it but recently my iphone have some problem with its ear pices then i went to apple service center in abu dhabi
they took my phone for one day and tell me come for next day all will be okey
when i went to next day they say that your iclould account has been locked by apple so you need to wait for one week time
i have already a week and now when i went to meet them today they said just wait till apple reply to them and they are still waiting for that
what the disgusting situation can any one wait to have their phone for fifteen days in this world
such a well known company might not be given such a poor service

BPS You have no authorization for the requested data
We are implementing Hierarchy node based security for our BPS.
When the user tries to display the planning layout, they get the error message "You have no authorization for the requested data "
I have given authorization to the relavant Infocubes, also checked the all the Authorization Relavant Info Objects and added theses Info Object to the custom authorization created in RSECADMIN.
Also added the info objects 0TCAACTVT, 0TCAIPROV, 0TCAVALID to the custom authorization.
In pfcg, this authorization has been added to S_RS_AUTH. I have also given activity 02, 03, 16 values and a * to planning areas, functions, packages, groups, levels, folders, ... to the objects R_AREA

We have created custom authorization and trying to restrict based on hierarchy node.
One point I observed is, when I give access to all nodes with a wildcard * in the custom authorization, then the error disappears and the layout is visble. But our point here is to try to restrict based on the nodes and we cannot give display access to all nodes. -
I want to use my apple TV as a second monitor not a mirrored one, in other words, I want to use my TV as a second screen not a copy of my first screen,other people have asked this question but have been given mirroring answers so I am spelling it out here very specifically. I want a second display. This should be possible and would be awesome. Anyone know how to do this?

I bought what I think to be the new iPad but chose to go with the non cellular option. Now I'm not sure if they have given me the new iPad or the iPad 2. I got a black 64gb one and need an easy way to determine the differences. I haven't put iOS 6 on it.

I have given up on my dell and bought an iMac 27"... Now how do I transfer my dell iTunes playlists from my dell to my iMac, as they are showing on the iMac when I plug in my iPod but it's not allowing to me to play them as they are shaded? I have also separately transferred all my music via my external drive from my dell to my iMac which is showing in iTunes but won't upload to my iPod... Just to confuse you even more my AppleTV which is linked to my log in email address and home sharing is showing and playing all the playlists I want to see on my iMac... Phew that was exhausting hope you understand and can help me:-)
You may have transferred all your songs, but your iPad is seeing the library as a different entity.

My husband and I have upgraded our phones (iPhone 4s and iPhone 5) to the iPhone 5s. We have given 2 of our kids the "old" phones and want to set them up as an iPod touch. Both kids have email and need to be able to text (iMessage).
I have read multiple posts on how to do this and I am still confused.
Apple ID/ICoud:
We want to be able to monitor what they do, but do not want their devices linked to our emails/contacts/etc... Each kid has their own email account. So, from what I have read the best way to do this is to use our family Apple ID, but set them up with a separate iCloud account? Is this correct?
Reset/Restore/DFU:
To start fresh we have done multiple factory resets. I did one that someone said was a DFU and a plan ol' factory reset, etc... Not sure the difference. However, when I do that I get the "hello" screen and am able to start setting the phone up anew. However, when I go to set the phone up as an iPod I end with the same result.
So, here is what I am doing (tell me what I am doing wrong):
Hello Screen
Asks me to select language and selecting: English
Select Your Country or Region: United States
Choose a Wi-Fi Network: select my home wi-fi network
Enter password: entered my home wi-fi network password
Activiate iPhone - wants me to enter Apple ID and Passwordsays that this iphone is currently linked to an Apple ID (k*******@gmail.com). Sign in with the Apple ID that was used to set up this iPhone.
Location Services - I have enabled location services
Set Up iPhone
Set Up as New iPhone
Apple ID
Options are to sign in with your Apple ID or Create a Free Apple ID
Or I could "skip this step"
I signed in with my Apple ID
Terms and Conditions - Agree
iCloud - I can select either to use iCloud or Don't Use iCloud - I selected use iCloud
Find My iPhone - I can select either to use find my iPhone or to not - I selected use find my iphone
Once I do this it says iMessage and FaceTime and shows the following:
my email
my other child's cell phone number
and my husband's work phone number
This is where things do not make sense. I only want the phone set up with the current child's email address. Where did I go wrong?There are a number of Apple services: iMessage, FaceTime, iCloud, Game center, Find My iPad, etc.
Now, to share apps, music and books you need to have the same Apple ID:
iPad's Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID > Your purchasing Apple ID.
For the other service, your wife should have her own Apple ID.
All she needs is a valid e-mail address, apply Apple ID below:

If you are talking about your Apple ID and iCloud email, yes, it is possible, but again the phones will mirror. You should not have the same Apple ID and iCloud both.

I run a mac air on a single user account but multiple people using it, which is ok for the situation. All have their accounts in the apple mail app. what is missing for me is a separate password to access the mail account. otherwise anyone can see anyones
Any clue, how i can add a mail account to apple mail app, but with separate password / pin to open it.
Years ago there was a program called mail switcher which added this functionality, but thats gone.

TomThey would have to be logged in as separate users in order not to see your account in Mail. Whatever accounts put in Mail under your account will show up. All mail accounts usually have there own user and password. The only thing you can do is to remove the password from Keychain and take the account offline so you don't keep getting prompts for passwords each time it checks for mail.
Not a great solution.
Best way is to give the other user their own user account with their own mail and enable fast user swithcing to log between the different users if all access the computer frequently. -

Yes, you can reconfigure the Time Capsule (TC) to "Join a wireless network." In this case the wireless network would be the one created by the other wireless Internet router. In this configuration, the TC can still share its internal (and external) hard drive and a printer attached to the USB port. However, note that this would disable the TC as a router and an Ethernet switch so basically it will perform as a wireless client. -

I'll be using it with plenty of battery life left on the meter then I get the ring of death and it'll show a dead battery icon wanting charged. At this point I either have to plug it in or I have discovered I can hold down the home and lock button for a minute and it'll come back on still showing plenty of charge. I've read a lot of people have this issue. I've seen the recommendation of re calibrating the battery by fully draining and charging multiple times. I've done that with no results. I've also tried the recommendation of resetting the phone and doing a full restore which also doesn't work.
I believe it's either a sub standard battery or possible a software or other hardware issue.
Has anyone ever gotten apple to admit the Iphone5 battery has issue?

I see that many people have already complained about Itunes' backup encryption. I NEVER set a password for it (and the corresponding option is still unticked, as always) yet it asked me for a pwd when I upgraded my 3GS to the 5.0 OS. How to solve this?
To prevent others from reading your mail, don't give them access to your account. If others need to use your computer for some reason, set up personal accounts, or a guest account, and switch to it before allowing them access. This is the simplest, and most effective, method.
Email message files can be read as plain text in TextEdit or any word processor.
To protect your email messages from being viewed by others while in your account, you would have to lock the folder, putting it into an encrypted disk image that required a password to be opened and mounted. You would have to double-click on the image and give your password to mount it before launching Mail then unmount it as soon as you're done. My guess is that you could replace the ~/Library/Mail folder with an alias pointing to the folder on the disk image.
It may work, but it seems like a lot of unnecessary hassle.
