People Soft Vs SAP

Hi all,
There is one argument i need to justify to my company...HOW sap is more stronger than PEOPLESOFT.
My company already having all the modules into SAP except the HR which is currently running in People soft...
Therre are other People soft company guys too here...
I need some strong points to eliminate them in this argument...
On what ways Sap Hr is more stronger than People soft hr???
They are arguing what ever sap can do we also can do...
"You guys have only Recrutitiment management stuff ->infotype 4xxx series
But we have campus mangement , University management also....Whihc you dont have
People soft is introduced years back so lot many cosultatns available where sap Hr new so very few available...bla bla bla..etc..
So People soft is more stronger....".
Can any one help me to get some good points to say Where SAP is more stronger compare to other ERP's

That's incorrect!

Although they can have still valid point and argue with the costing of SAP HR vs Peoplesoft HR. But sometimes/often only meeting the purpose cannot reach you beyond the lines. You have to keep your mind open for future prospects as well. SAP HR have better authorization and compatibly compared to People soft. For any client future integration should be a key evaluation point with leaving the costing constraint behind. If I would a Client I would certainly Go with the SAP HR because I Want to ensure the proper solution is made and support. Your consulting partner must be choose wisely who can provide proper end-user training as well to SAP HR

Could any one help us u201CWhere can we specify the 3rd party system details?u201D

Hi Satya!
Like the default SAP backend UWL connectory your 3rd-party connector should make use of a PCD System Object. This system is a mere java component with nothing more than a portalapp.xml defining all the system properties.
Create a system in the portal system landscape based on the System PAR you depoyed.
For every UWL connector you create in portal you define a system alias. This alias has to match the one of your new system object.
And now for the sad part: I didn't find any clue yet about how to access the system from a custom UWL connector. The system alias is available in the method getItems(), but no hint whatsoever how to get the system object to the alias.
I'm still investigating this, since i'm exactly at this point.

People Soft Universe Design?

We are currently working on designing a universe for student records data based out of a People Soft Operational system.
Is there anyone out there who has already done this? can you share your experience with us?

and there are no specific references to BPC integration.
That said, if you are using the BW NW version of BPC - i'm sure this would be exposed via a BEx query over a cube, or via a relational connection using BW SQL driver to a cube.
however, if you are using the MSAS (MS SQL SRV) version of BPC, that would be using the XMLA connectory to an IIS data pump on the db server.
you might want to ask this question on their respective forums: SAP Planning and Consolidation, version for SAP NetWeaver
and SAP Planning and Consolidation, version for the Microsoft platform

Error while configuring the People Soft adapter with ESB

Hi All,
We are intergarting PeopleSoft application using ESB ver 10.1.3.1
I have been following the Oracle Application Server Adapter for People Soft User's Guide.
The following are the steps covered.
1. Basic installation of the SOA Suite done (On the windows machine)
2.Packaged application adapters installed.
3. Post installation tasks carried out
a Installed Patch 5895585
b Library files copied(psjoa.jar from the target peoplesoft application server)
c.BSE deployment verification done.
d we would be using the file repository for BSE
Then I created a configuration for BSE (creating a new configuration )
And then I can see all the 3 nodes -Adapters,Events and Business Services.
But when I click on the adapters node I do not see any adapters and I get the following error:
"This application has failed to start because iwsiebel.core.dll was not found.Re-installing the application may fix this problem"
I have done the installation again but still getting the same error.
I checked and the above dll is present at the following location :
<Oracle_Home>\adapters\application\lib
<Oracle_Home>\j2ee\<oc4j_container>\connectors\jca-app-adapter\jca-app-adapter
Any pointers or suggestion on how I can overcome or resolve this issue..??

Installable for OIM connector for People Soft Employee reconciliation 9.0.4

I need to install the OIM connector for People Soft Employee reconciliation and user managemnet.
The latest release of connectors, i.e version 9.1.0. supports People Tools 8.49 and not the previous versions of people soft, i.e 8.48, etc.
Where can I download the installation media for connector for People Soft Employee reconciliation and user managemnet version 9.0.4 as my people tools installation is 8.48 version.

We are trying to install the RACF Advanced Connector in OIM.After copying Connector to the ConnectorDefaultDirectory in OIMSERVER , we are trying to install the connector from the OIMAdmin Console. We are able to see the RACF connector version in the dropdown box, when we click on the Load button we are getting the SystemError Page.
Please let us know if there are any prequisites we need to take care before installing the connector,we dodn't find anything on this in the connector documentation.

People Soft 8.4 support on RHEL 5.5

Hi,
I wanted to know if People Soft 8.4 is supported on Red hat Enterprise Linux 5.5. Also what versions of People Soft are supported on RHEL 5.5.
The modules I am looking for are: GL, AR, BI, PC, FAM, L&T, EPM, GC.
Can anyone help me with this as I am new to People Soft and am not able to get this specific information.

Problem reading other peoples inboxes in SAP

Hi!
I've read the posts on the mail subject but none of them apply to my problem. That's why I'm posting a new topic.
My problem is this:
The customer wants a program to run on the mailboxes of employees and send the employee an e-mail (to outlook) if they receive a mail in SAP inbox with a link to the item in question.
I use standard SAP API's for this:
SO_USER_READ_API1 - to find the users inboxfolder ID
SO_FOLDER_READ_API1 - To read the contents of the inbox folder and to return the subject heading of e-mail in SAP Inbox.
However, SO_FOLDER_READ_API1 only returns the e-mails belonging to current user. I.e. I run this program as a job (SM37) with a user that has SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW. The user is called 'WF-BATCH'. The program returns 0-zero-mails as this user does not have any e-mails in SAP Inbox. If I run the job as myself, it returns my e-mails and I find that my user is not authorized to access other peoples inboxes.
But, surely, a user with SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW should have the authorization to do that?
Has anybody got any ideas on how I should proceed? Alternatively, does anybody know what tables mail items are stored in - SO_USER_READ_API1 gives me the userID and FolderID and with this information I should be able to find e-mails if only I knew what tables they are stored in....

1. To honour privacy concerns,
    SAP won't allow to read other peoples inboxes
    thru FMs directly .
2. In the FM, (2-4 levels inside)
   the system checks the
   current user name and specified user name(for inbox)
3. If they match, only then it provides the result.
4. For your requirement,
   u will have to copy the FM
   and accordingly over ride the code
   to check user name mentioned in point 2.

- I understand you ran schedule task, but did it bring all the valid values in the lookup ?
- In addition to it, are you supplying all the values i n the form while doing so ?
- If you are doing auto-provisioning , do it manually and see.

I have a report that is based on a PSoft query. There is a selection prompt built in to the query. I have another report, based on a different query, that prompts on the same field as the first. I want to bring the second report in as a subreport. I had thought that since they both use the same prompt fields (which are identical) that the linking should be straight forward. This does not seems to be the case. I have played with the linking in all manners possible, with no luck.
Any ideas?

I'm confused. You install ORACLE on a day by day bases just because the pw "got lost"? ORACLE would be out of the market if that is the only solution.
I assume you are on windows right?`You installed under your account right? The database services got started right? So go into CMD

Can someone explain me, how OIM will handle the deferred events received from peoplesoft.
Are there any schedule tasks, which needs to be run ??

The PSFT UM connector / PSFT ER connectos use deferred event API to create a deferred event based on the reconciliation data.
It is OIM which evaluates and links the data when the data arrives.
Yes as you guessed correctly, there is scheduled task which process the deferred recon events but it is OOTB and not from PSFT connectors.
The job name is Run Future Dated Reconciliation Events
