People! This is really an harrowing experience! read this please & rea

Hi all,
if U are a regular to this forum, U would know my case already.. I bought a Creative Zen Touch 20 GB on 8th January 2005 from a well-known shop in Cologne, Germany..add to the fact/misery that I li've/stay in Belgium & I was in a visit to Cologne & I bought this over there!..Ok..and it didnt work straight out of the box & all the time it was freezing!! So posted my plight/misery on this forum & also sent mails to Creative Support.. The unanimous conclusion was I have a faulty player & I have to rush back to the shop to get it replaced..So I called the shop & they said that I can come over & get a new one as it is just one week old!..So somehow I manged to find time & money(for the travel) and I went to Cologne last friday and I came back to Belgium thinking that my problems are over & I am gonna listen to music! Well how wrong I was!
I came to Belgium & charged it for 4 hours & here I need to mention 2 differences I found from my previous faulty one!
Difference : My previous faulty player had english as the default language whereas the replacement had german as the default language.
Difference 2: My previous faulty player had some preloaded songs whereas the replacement didnt have any!
So I loaded some mp3 songs into the replacement mp3 player & started playing it & it did play one song(or half of it) & I wanted to go the next song..there was my misery! it simply froze and after that I redid all the rescue options & whatever I did gave me 'harddisk error'..its simply not going anywhere!
Sorry to use some strong words..atleast last time when my player didnt work, I felt cheated but now I feel cheated+harassed+...
Add to it amount of time & money I am wasting on this..its simply getting worse & worse! All I wanted was an mp3 player to play songs & I am being taken for a ride for this..
The people here, please do respect/understand my feelings and please dont try to defend Creative! For me, Creative sounds destructi've!
Anyway.. I am just lost by this harrowing experience! I can only wish that it shouldnt happen even to my worst enemy! I hope I dont get nightmares every time I listen to some kind of music! this is really distressing!

I just sent a mail to one <<name deleted>> of the Creative Labs who has been sending me emails/replies to my hotmail account. He was the one who also suggested to me that I have to return it back to my dealer!(the first faulty one!).. I sent him a mail today as he had asked to give me the model number, serial number etc..Basically I dont know whats the best & fastest way of getting my mp3 player replaced..and also I am stunned by the fact that the shop person might have given me a refurbished piece as a replacement!( if U read the first feedback in this thread!)...Anyway, it doesnt matter.. I am even prepared to take an mp3 player which is 5 years old because I just want a working mp3 player just to solve my basic wish of listening to music!

I also felt that I was cheated on the first time & then when I saw all your messages & it helped me to build confidence & hence said to myself 'Yeah, man! U are just unlucky..just get it replaced & everything wil be fine'...but when I found that it is repeated.. I dont call myself unlucky anymore!
Sorry if I sound a bit too harsh on Creative but even after going through this horrifying experience, I am still intending to replace my mp3 player..so U can imagine how much regards I had for Creative..as they say, the higher U climb, the painful is the fall!

    Solved for me.
    I set the owner/permissions of my profile's mozilla folder's (and all the files in it) to read/write access, and the problem disappeared.
    in linux:''

    That message is NOT from Adobe, and has nothing to do with Adobe's approval for anything.
    Quite the opposite: Adobe Reader is NOT YET RUNNING, Adobe aren't involved. Some other app or program is putting out that message. Have you tried giving that permission?

    FYI, this is a forum for storage and sharing...photoshop.com and revel. If you have acrobat issues you might want to make a note of the other forums:
    http://forums.adobe.com shows a list of all of them, and specifically http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat  this one for Acrobat
    But, since I have had this same issue myself...
    On Windows, locate your pdf document. Right click it and select "open with". Select Adobe Acrobat. That should do it. On MAC, I'm not sure but I'm guessing there is a similar setting.

    If this works you will see the normal desktop Once completely started up in Safe Mode, try to restart normally and go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility. Click on the top hard drive icon in the left sidebar and note the S.M.A.R.T. status at the bottom right of the pane. What does it say?
    Select the named boot volume in the left sidebar, ("Macintosh HD" unless it has been renamed). What is the hard drive capacity and how much space remains available on it? Repair permissions on it.
    See if you are able to do a little hard drive maintenance to help things out.

    Since your Mac probably came with 10.4, there is no longer a way to get 10.5 Leopard install media. IF it has the requirements, you may be able to upgrade to 10.6 Snow Leopard by buying the boxed install media at the Apple Store for $30.

    first off All Caps is not necessary and makes things hard to read and is consider shouting - it is rude
    Second you do not have "an iPhoto" - iPhoto is an application that manages photos - the photos are stored (by default) in the iPhoto library in a SQL lite database and you use the iPhoto program to manage them

    can you please explain this in some detail. When you launch iPhoto by clicking on the iPhoto icon in the Dock what happens?
    As to your other OS questions this is certainly not hte best place to address them - we are iPhoto users just like yourself here  ---  basically as I understand it (and I have had had Macs for 30+ years) there is no "defrag and you do not need one - and antivirus is your choice - most people feel it is a waste of money on a Mac but some like to have it

    I really do not think it is the iPad or your network connection. Other users have reported this very same issue. Try this and see if it works for you - it may not work - but it's easy to try - harmless - and it has worked in the past for others.
    Try signing out of your account and restart your iPad.
    Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID and tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Go back to Settings>Store> Apple ID and sign in again.

    You might be able to use the newest adobe reader program/application for that.
    You would have to save your pdf out of photoshop cs3 without any text and then add the text to the pdf in adobe reader.
    The text added in adobe reader can't be edited in photoshop, so the other people would have to adobe reader or acrobat to edit the text.

    Passcode your device.   Protect your device.   It really isn't a toy.    The toy is the iPod touch.

    You should really read the manual.

    Restore.  When given the choice, choose to use backup.

    They would only be where you put them.  What program did you use to import them?  Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all.  You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
    If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.

    If you want to be able to view, edit and export from Lightroom you can move the files using your computer OS (explorer or finder) and update the folder location by right-clicking on the folder name in the LR Library. See fig 8 at the attached link:

    This will work when the thumb drive is connected.
    If you really have no need to keep these files off-line in LR then simply move the files, select all the thumbnails in the LR Library and hit delete. Then choose remove.

    Recently my dad gave me his old blackberry curve as he purchased the new blackberry torch. It worked fine for a week then the tracked stopped and I couldn't move around on my phenomenal the other buttons worked I could type BBM but the tracked didn't work, but shortly after, after I turned it off and on it started working again, so I thought it was just a glitch. Then it kept happening until on day about a week back it stopped and didn't move. So I got a new tracked fitted for £20 then it worked, I was really pleased. But then the next day it stopped. I figured out that if you push in the back it starts working again? It has been treated well. Is there any thought or was to fix this please....

    UPDATE:  I have learned that my problem is related to a "resourse folder" which must go wherever the file goes in order for it to have sound.  This is a bit inconvinient for me, as my client is computer illiterate.  I really want to find a way to just embed the sound into a file that you can just open and play.  To the best of my knowlege, SWF format is the only format that allows for the page turning animation.  Does anyone know a way to embed the sound into the SWF file or am I SOL here?
