PeopleSoft Financials integration

Hi All,
I have a requirement of integrating PeopleSoft Financial with OIM and am at loss about it. I read through the OIM PeopleSoft User Management Connector guide and am not sure whether it supports the provisioning of users from OIM to PS Finance. As far as I understand, the user management connector is for the HRMS part of the people soft and that provisioning to PS Finance would require a custom connector. Am I correct in my understanding?
Or if when we say "Provision a user to PS Finance" does it implies that we add specific roles to the user while provisioning to the PS User Management and that would be sufficient? If this is correct then does the PeopleSoft User Management connector support provisioning of roles? The connector doc talks about USER_PROFILE and DELETE_USER_PROFILE component interfaces but as I understand, ROLE_MAINT component interface is required for the Role Management at PS.

The PeopleSoft User Management Connector supports provisioning to all the various pillars. You just wont be able to provision the EMPLID field which links back to the person table if you dont have them integrated together like that. They all perform in the same way in use the same Component Interfaces for their actions. As long as you can connect to the integration broker, you should be able to validate the functions work correctly. You'll need to obtain the information as far as permissions lists go, and roles available, but it should be fine. I've configured provisioning to CRM, Financials, LMS, HRMS, and another one i can't think of the name off hand, just by duplicating the connector and changing the connection information.

what required is INFORMATICA and DAC i,e OBIApps Installation
You need to import data from EBS database to OBI data base through DAC and the u need to give connection to OBI database in Admin tool and it works

Multiple DataSources of the same type (e.g. Peoplesoft Financials) in DAC

If I am definining multiple DataSources of the same type (e.g. Peoplesoft Financials) so as to extract data from multiple source ERP systems into a single DataWarehouse, should I have to define separate Data Source Numbers for each source database ?
I know the preseeded OBIA definitions provide different Data Source Number for Oracle Ebusiness Suite, Peoplesoft etc. But if I have the same ERP application and version in multiple source databases, how do I separate them ? Should I simply edit the Data Source Number and assign a new number to a new source ? Or do I have to copy some templates ?

Hemant,
The purpose of DATASOURCE_NUM_ID is to identify which source it's from.
In the Warehouse a combination of Integration_ID and DATASOURCE_NUM_ID defines the uniqueness.
In your case the Source System and Verison is the same so its not required to have different DATSOURCE_NUM_ID
but if for traceability you want to have one it then you can define it.
My advise would be to have one Datsource Num ID as defined for your version and Source System.

Will there be a Turkish language pack for PeopleSoft Financials? And if so, when?

Multilingual Pack for Peoplesoft includes turkish language also. you can always run your peoplesoft installation as base language english and other languages as turkish.

BPEL and Oracle financials Integration

Hi there,
we're at the beginning of scoping an integration project and I'm trying to get a handle on what options we have for integration with Oracle Financials. I've been referred to the BPEL Process Mgr - does anyone know of its abilities to integrate with Financials ? Does it use a JCA ? What other integration options do I have ? All help appreciated...

The Oracle Applications adapter is installed as part of the base install, allthough licensed seperately. Adapters to other packaged applications (SAP, Peoplesoft etc) are seperate installs (and also licensed seperately).
The Oracle apps (Ebusiness Suite) adapter uses the common interface points of the applications to interface with them, and expose them in a friendly format, allowing you to browse the available modules and functions and select which ones you want to use in your BPEL process.

Has anyone configured OBIEE for the PeopleSoft Financials Prebuilt solution

I am looking to bounce some questions off those that have configured OBIEE Prebuilt against Peoplesoft, namely the Peolpesoft Financials......We are noticing some configuration issues that we can not understand. On of our main fact tables is populating but not others and would like see if anyone has experience this. I try to get specific questions here soon. Thanks for any of you that can assist.

Well, with peoplesoft you can save different languages into the lang tables, into those tables are just saved the description fields so we want to load the lang tables into the datawarehouse as well. Then when we show the reports we can see, for example the description department in English or Spanish depends on the language I choose in the log in page in BI.
We couldn´t find out where those description fields in other language could be saved into the datawarehouse, we just know how to save a language (english or Spanish) but not both of them. The problem is just with the description fields.

Peoplesoft portal integration

I tried integrating using the App integrator but all in vain. Perhaps i am not using the correct parameters.

Retek and Oracle Financials Integration

Hi,
We are planning to implement Retek for the retail stores and Oracle Financials for the back end operations. Can some one tell me if these two products are seamlessly integrated? For example will the data flow from Retek to say AP or AR without having to develop any interfaces.

PeopleSoft SES integration

Hi,
I have integrated the Finance application with OSES and peoplesoft search framework is working fine.
Now I want to integrate ELM application also with the OSES.
Can it possible to integrate the ELM application with the same OSES or do I need to install one more OSES for ELM application?
If possible what are alll the steps I need to perform on the OSES side?

Yes, it is possible and nothing is needed on SES side. Just create a search instance in ELM, same way you did for FIS and start deploying the definitions and scheduling the indexes. Remember , on search instance the callback URL would be for ELM environment not FIS. SES will maintain defintions from both FIS and ELM environments. Also , authentication will only be from one source, either a PS environment or an AD or whatever you are already using.

Peoplesoft Enterprise Integration with Oracle Portal 10g

I am looking for documentation which explains the steps in detail on how to integrate peoplesoft Enterprise with Oracle portal. PeopleSoft Financials VM templates

Hello
I have installed Oracle VM and Oracle VM manager on a single PC. I then installed the FSCM 9.1 demo database and got this working.
I would like to install a GUI front end to the Linux JEOS in this machine, this will allow me to install Firefox or equivalent and make it a "single user" laptop. Has anyone ever installed the linux GUI to an Oracle JEOS linux?
Any help will be appreciated.

You are building an Oracle VM machine, you should access it from a remote client. I'm not sure that's possible to get a working GUI onto an Oracle VM machine (xen server) to avoid a client.
But you should probably ask the question to the Oracle VM forum dedicated, there are some experts who can give you a better answer :

Peoplesoft Financials: How to manage Taxes ?

We want to manage different types of Taxes for each payment that we make to our vendors. and we have to deduct these taxes at the time of payment.
for some payments we have to apply only one tax, and for some we have to apply 2 to 5 different taxes.
Where will I manage all these types of taxes ? and will I enter Tax information during process of Payment Voucher inside Account Payable ?

I appreciate your responses and it was so promising to me till i spoke to some of our financial consultants. There are 2 problems he pointed out with this approach:
Tax reporting : The correct credit memo will deduct from the taxable/nontaxable amount(s) to the jurisdiction(s) whereas new tax codes will not.
Having said this, I do feel that the solutions that you have proposed is probably the only approach we have here. thank you both for your responses. If you can think of any way we can get around the tax reporting issue please do let me know.

PeopleSoft Financials: Enable user to add/edit vendors information

I want to create a user would Add and Edit Vendors information from his account/UserID.
For that I have created a new User, but not sure what roles/permissions should be assigned to him to enable him to Add information for Vendors.
Right now if I try to add new vendor from his ID I get Not-Authorized error.
Please let me know.

Whenever you run into this issue, look up the content reference for the component in the portal through
main menu - peopletools - portal - structure and content.
After you found the content reference click on the edit link.
In the second tab Security, you will find the permission lists that have access to this content reference/component.
Assign one of the permission lists to your user and you user will have access to the content reference and component.

IPM & Peoplesoft HRMS Integration .

Peoplesoft uses mainframes and we cannot use JDBC ...JDBC adapter is used to read the records from the table,
If your Landscape has Tibco/MQ you can ask the Peoplesoft team to run the Job Card to post the messages in the Queue of Tibco/MQ from there with the help of JMS adapter you can read the message and pass to PI.
