PeopleSoft Initial Upgrade Pass : Custom Objects Missing

We have just completed the PeopleSoft HCM 9.0 to 9.1 Initial Pass. In the upgraded COP all the custom objects are gone now. Did we do something wrong ??
I checked in the PeopleTools Upgrade step that the entire PeopleTools objects are replaced at one point. If that is true then how do we do the retrofitting as the custom objects are not available any more :(
Please help !!
Shailesh

The upgrade doc instructs the user to compare their COP with the old DEMO db (where all the maintenance fixes had been applied) in order to build a project - UPGCUST - with all the customizations. Later on, in Chapter 4, this UPGCUST project is compared to the 9.1 release flagging all objects that were also modified by Oracle. At this point, an evaluation of which objects will be kept and which will be overridden by the 91 version needs to be taken - step Reviewing New Release Changes. In Chapter 5, step Copying the UPGCUST Project will copy the chosen customizations over to the 9.1 db. When all 9.1 metadata is copied back to your COP, the chosen customizations will be among them.
Hope it helps.

    Folks,
    I believe it has been posted before but whatever search I do, I cant find it.
    We're on ECC 6.0 (upgrades done from 4.0b to 4.7 to 6.0). Customizing objects for TRM, Cross docking and some more are missing. Any suggestions to retrieve them?

  • Upgrade for Custom objects

    We are planning to upgrade our system to BI 7.0 next week. We will do technical upgrade only.
    Appreciate if you can clarify few doubts
    1. We have lots of custom Infocubes, ODS and update rules that are created as copy of standard objects. What impact should we expect for these objects.
    I guess minimal but if SAP has made changes to their standard data flows
    ( like certain calculations in update rules or new infoobjects in ODS etc )
    would they be needed in my custom versions and if yes how would I know what is changed?
    2. When we do the functional upgrade will it be easier or harder for these custom objects as compared to the standard ones. ( Wondering if we should have stayed with the standard ones )
    Thanks

    Good news, SAP doesnt have any content with the new data flow. I see no reason why SAP woudl change thier std objects, if thats the case SAP will come with a new object and ask the customers to slowly move to the new one as the old one would be obsolete soon. Your existing dataflow wouldnt be disturbed, even though you have ur custom objects (who doesnt have custom objects)
    2. When we do the functional upgrade will it be easier or harder for these custom objects as compared to the standard ones. ( Wondering if we should have stayed with the standard ones )
    either way you have to manually migrate the dataflow, so it shouldnt matter if its std or custom

  • How to pass Custom object embedded in Collection

    Hi,
    I'm building an J2EE application(Weblogic 7.0) with swing Client. Our requirement
    is to add custom objects in a Collection and return it to Client thru web service.
    I dont know how to write build.xml so that ant utility created its own parser
    file for the cutom object. We may have lots of custom objects . These objects
    are being returned by a generic response object . I mean a Collection may conatin
    different custom objects depending upon context. This Collection is embedded in
    the generic response object. Can anybode help me to write a buil.xml for this.
    Please suggest a best solution.
    thanks

    Contd.......I forgot to mention one thing. We are supposed to use StatelessSessionBean
    as front controller. In this context we can use the ant task for converting this
    front controller to web service.
    Pls help me....

  • ECC 6.0 Upgrade - Lot of  Custom Objects - How to make it work ???

    Hi ,
    My client is on HR 4.6c and ESS in standalone ITS and upgrading to ECC 6.0 and EP7.  They have lot of custom objects ( Reports, ABAP Queries, Function Modules etc., ) and lot of customization done in ESS ( Std tcodes copied and developed ESS services in ITS). What is the approach to be followed to upgrade these custom objects/transactions into ECC 6.0? Once up gradation done, Is there any changes to be done either in EP 7 side or  R/3 side ( ECC 6 ) in order to call those z tcodes in EP7 ( ESS )?
    Client is happy with the current functionality in ESS ( ITS ) , wanted to use the same functionality in new system. Any clue on  how to make use of those Z transactions useful in ECC 6? Can we call these transactions in ESS in EP7? Your response will be highly appreciated. Example: For open enrollment, instead of std PZ14 , they have copied and developed their own transaction to use in ESS ( 4.6c ). The same one should also work in EP7 and ECC 6.
    Rgds
    Peddi

    Prakash,
    Thank you for your reply.  But we have custom transactions( Screen based , module pool ) used in 4.6C, ESS ( ITS),  What are the changes we may have to make potentially to work those programs from EP7 ESS.
    What are the changes you suggest to make in R/3 ECC6 ( after upgrade )and also EP7 side ( Like crating custom I Views would be a best bet ? )

    Hi David/Jothi/BJ,
    I am very much confused here  and struck with this private folder thing. I have already set up publc folder synch from CRM to outlook.
    Baically i did all possible things for private foder synch mentioned in stnadard SAP docuemnts. but they are very clumsy.
    the issues which i m facing here are below :
    My Requirment -> we need implement the private folder integration using sbdoc for our client here. we have to somply transfers all the contacts to employees private folder.
    I went throught the document/blog u posted it is really good. however I have some big questions. below please find some of them , also apart from your blog if u have really any good doucment which u created or found somewhere , if u can forward the same here will be greate help.
    We did all possible config which I found in net but facing below issues :
    Questions :
    1. do we have to create 2 separate sites or only one site of type sbdoc? and also tell me what all subscriptions i need to assign to them? there are 3 subsription i created , now do i have to assign them to a single site or I have to create 2 different sites - subcriptions : 'Employee' , E-mail Information for Groupware and subsrtiption created with CONGEN_OBJ_WRT. do i have to create subscription for CAPGEN_OBJ_WRITE as well?
    2. do i have to laod the BP data to CDB (we dont want to transfer relationship data as of now)?
    3. how actually private folder works? our requirmenet is we have arnd 10 users to use our application so when they create or update any contact in CRM , that contact should flow his/her private folder. so for this how actually standards checks that who is user changing/creaton the BP. Is it thru created_by of BP. please explain a bit.
    4. do i have to laod all the employee/users (who has valid mail id and private mail box (folder)) to MAPBOX? if yes then how?
    5. How this userlist.xml created and who provides data to it? is it grpware connector? do i have to have all of my user/employee (who are participating data exchange from CRM to outlook provate folder) into USERLIST.XML file?
    6. what else we need in grpware side in terms of config or setup. we already have a valid user in CRM and grpware with private folder for this user and a valid email id for this user arleady set up. Plsease tell us if there anything apart from this?
    Please help me I really stuck here and not able to proceed.
    Thanks,
    Vivek.

  • How are pure custom objects impacted by peoplesoft delivered changes in Upgrades.

    We have developed pure custom component interfaces using delivered components.So we would like to know what would be the impact of changes to delivered components on the custom component interface.
    Similar question for other custom peoplesoft objects like changes to delivered fields to pure custom records,pages,peoplecode etc.

    Hi,
    Let me explain this
    1. If you have custom record and all the fields in those record also custom fields then there won't be any impact
    2. But if you have a custom record with delivered fields, then changes to these delivered field impacts the custom record as well
              eg: length changes to the delivered fields impact your custom record.
    2. Same applied for other objects like pages, components..etc
    Any custom object which uses the delivered objects in it will have impact. Because these delivered objects may be changed in higher version.

  • Methods to transfer Customer objects while Upgrading.

    Hi,
    What are the possible methods of transferring Customer objects/programs etc while upgrading from 4.6 to 4.7 or ECC ?

    Hi Rekha,
    After the Basis team have done with the Prepare activities , we need to RUN the SPDD transcations which provides the details of SAP Std DDIC objects that have been modified by the CLient It team. You will requuire take a deceiosn to keep the changed format or revert back to the SAP std structure. More often the decison would be to keep the changes format in the new version also. It is mandatory to complete this cativity so that you do not run the risk of any data loss in the new version of SAP.
    After completeing the SPDD activity , we need have choice of taking the SPAU transcation to get the list of the STD SAP programs that have been modified. This activities can be done in phases even after the upgrade o fthe box. generally it is done in the same go so that your testing results are consistent and have more confidence in upgrade.
    Then we need o move with the corrections of the Z/Y objects for sytax . Once we have complted these three ABAP workbench corrections cativities we need to get into a testing activity.
    Hope this helps.

  • Java object with ArrayList of custom objects not working

    I have a custom java object that has an ArrayList of another set of custom objects (code listed below). I can pull back a Customer object (to flex client) and it's recognized as a Customer action script object, but the ArrayList in the Customer object is not recognized as an ArrayCollection of Accounts. Instead it is an ArrayCollection of Action Script Objects.
    At first I thought something was wrong with my action script Account class, but then I tried to pull back just an Account and it was recognized as an action script Account. It's just when I have my Customer object with an ArrayList of Accounts that it isn't getting converted.
    Is there something else I need to do to have that ArrayList be recognized as an ArrayCollection of Accounts on the Flex Client side? Is there some way of specifying what type an ArrayCollection is mapped to?
    Thanks in advance for the help!
    public class Customer {
         private String name;
         private String address;
         private ArrayList<Account> accounts;
         public Customer(){
         public String getName(){
              return name;
         public void setName(String str){
              name = str;
         public String getAddress(){
              return address;
         public void setAddress(String str){
              address = str;
         public ArrayList<Account> getAccounts(){
              return accounts;
         public void setAccounts(ArrayList<Account> list){
              accounts = list;
    public class Account {
         private long accountNumber;
         private String type;
         private double balance;
         public Account(){
         public long getName(){
              return accountNumber;
         public void setName(long l){
              accountNumber= l;

    I accidently found how to make this work. I may have missed something while reading about blazeDS reflection, but I thought I'd pass this along anyway.
    What I have is I have an class A. In class A I have an arraycollection of Class B. If I want that arraycollection to return to the server with the correct class, then I need to include Class B in the compiled swf. How I have done that is to create a dummy variable of type B. Importing B will not work you actually need to have a member variable of type B even if you don't need it.
    Example
    import dataobjects.B;
    [RemoteClass(alias="dataobjects.A")]
    public class A {
       private var _b:B; //This is never used, but needed to include B object in swf to be reflected.
       private var_ bList:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection();
      public function A(){
      public function set bList(list:ArrayCollection):void{
         _bList = list;
      public function get bList():ArrayCollection{
        return _bList;

  • How to create the data for custom objects in pList

    Hi,
    I am new in developing on iPhone and I don't know much about this area. I would like to ask a question. I couldn't find the answer on this question in apple documentation but I hope Internet community will help me.
    Lets say I have a class called classA. The classA has 2 public properties (or fields):
    *int customIndex*;
    and
    NSString *customTitle;
    My view controller class showMeSomething has a property NSArray which holds the objects of type classA. I would like to load the array from the plist resource file. How do I edit the resource file with initial values or how do I know the format of the plist which can be loaded from using mainBundle for my array of custom objects?
    Thanks!

    Here's some info on working with plists:
    http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/PropertyLists/Introduc tion/chapter1_section1.html
    They can be edited with any text editor. Xcode provides a graphical editor for them - make sure to use the .plist extension so Xcode will recognize it.

  • Passing "Value Objects" from one JSP to next  (2)

              Someone posted a response from BEA which has since disappeared, it was no different
              from what I was doing and it I still can't get it to store the information in
              the Value Object.
              I get values (true/false) from a Radio button on a FORM in a JSP, press a "Next
              Step" Button.
              I have a "Value Object" in JSP_1, which I use the setters to store various information
              obtained from the <FORM>. I then "jsp:forward" to JSP_2, set different information
              and then I "jsp:forward" to JSP_3 & so on. At the end of the JSP chain only the
              last setter is has the value "true", all the other values are false, despite all
              being "set" to "true".
              The "Value Object" is not storing the information set in previous JSPs. When I
              initially create the "value object" I use;
              <jsp:useBean id="myVO" class="uk.co.notify.valueobjects.MyVO" scope="request"
              />
              <jsp:setProperty name="myVO" property="*"/>
              In JSP_2 JSP999 I don't use <jsp:setProperty> I let the setter in the VO do
              it.
              I am using WebLogic 6.1 sp2 under Windows 2K Pro.
              Any pointers. Thanks.
              [att1.html]

    Ok. here's the difference.
              Hitting submit is altogether a different "new" http request. It will send a
              new request from your browser to the server. Whereas, the jsp:forward is
              within the server itself.
              So the VO object whose scope is set to "request" will not retain its values
              between 2 http request.
              For such kind of parameter passing, you could very well store the info. in
              user's session object.
              I hope this helps.

  • Initial down load of objects from R/3 to CRM

    Hi Experts,
    We are facing problem while we are doing initial download for the objects from R/3 to CRM. 1st 5 objects showing running(yellow) remaining all are showing waiting(red) in R3AM1.We maintained all the settings. Let me know anything we missed in this please!
    Please provide Middleware settings for down load the objects from R/3 to CRM.
    Thanks in Advance
    RAMESH

    Hi Rajesh,
    Please check for those running objects whether there are any "Parent Objects". You open that adapter object which is in "Running" state and there is a tab called "parent objects". Please check whether there are any objects present there. If there are objects present there then those needs to be run first before running the current object.
    Regarding the objects in "waiting" state the reason is because the parameter MAX_PARALLEL_PROCESSES in the table SMOFPARSFA is set to a small value I believe.Increase the value to 99 and then again try the loading of objects.
    This parameter MAX_PARALLEL_PROCESSES  indicates the total number of loads that can be done at a time.
    Thanks
    Abishek

  • Help needed for translation of custom objects

    Hi All,
    We are currently in the process of upgrading from 11i to R12.1.3. We have a lot of custom reports and forms which needs to be translated based on language preference set at user level. The approach we have taken is as follows:
    1. Created one unique look up type for each of the custom objects.
    2. Each lookup code is mapped to a field of the custom object (report or form).
    3. Entered the translation for each of the lookup codes using Globe icon (Translation Form) available on the lookup form.
    4. When the user logs into his account, we are filterting out the record specific to user environment language using the condition:
    language of fnd_lookup_values = usernev('lang') and getting the translated labels for each of the fields in the custom object.
    Now what we would like to understand is if there is any other better way of doing translation based on user preferred language.
    We have heard about Oracle Translation Manager (OTM) but not sure how the same can be used in our case. Also we would like to know how Oracle does translation for the languages that are enabled in a particular instance. We would like to know if a similar approach can be followed for custom objects as well.
    Thanks & Regards,

    We had the arrayList/collections lecture today.
    I asked the teacher about sorting objects and he started explaining hashmaps and then he mentioned another thing which we will only be learning next term, I'm sure we must only use what we have learned.
    How exactly can this be done. I have asked a few questions in the post already.
    ThanksWell, there was probably a gap in the communication. Hash maps (or hash tables, etc.) are instance of Map. Those are used to locate a value by its unique key. Generally, to speed up access, you implement a hashing function (this will be explained hopefully in class). Think of name-value pairs that are stored where the name is unique.
    Contrast this with items that are sorted. Any List can be sorted because its elements are ordered. An ArrayList is ordered, generally, by the order you inserted the elements. However, any List can be given its own ordering via Comparable or Comparator. You can't do this with an ordinary Map. The purpose of a Map is speedy access to the name-value pairs, not sorting. The List likewise has different purposes, advantages, disadvantages, etc. List can be sorted.
    A Map is generally similar to a Set. A Set is a vanilla collection that guarnatees uniqueness of each element (note, not name-value pairs, but simple elements). There is one concrete class of Map that can be sorted, TreeMap, but I doubt your professor was referring to that. The values or the keys can be returned from the Map and sorted separately, but again, I doubt he was referring to that.
    Take a look at the Collections tutorial here on this site or Google one. It is fairly straightforward. Just keep in mind that things (generally) break down into Set, Map and List. There are combinations of these and different flavors (e.g., Queue, LinkedHashMap, etc.) But if you can learn how those three differ, you will go a long way towards understanding collections.
    (Oh, and be sure to study up on iterators.)

  • Importing to Custom Object 1 to blank-out information

    Hi Everyone,
    We recently started using Custom Object 1 and during our initial import there was a field has the wrong information that needs to be overwritten.
    The new field will does not have have information on evey row in the import CSV file, and when we import it, only the rows have information are overwirtten and the blank rows are left with the old info.
    <strong>Original import:</strong>
    <u>Object 1 ID Field 1</u>
    1 aaa
    2 aaa
    3 aaa
    <strong>Second import:</strong>
    <u>Object 1 ID Field 1</u>
    1 bbb
    2 bbb
    3 bbb
    <strong>RESULTS:</strong>
    <u>Object 1 ID Field 1</u>
    1 bbb
    2 aaa
    3 bbb
    Has anyone else experienced this problem? Have you been able to fix it?
    Thanks, Margo

    Margo,
    Have you tried putting a space or a . into your excel spreadsheet and importing that? also a mass update may clear the information?

    I have only just noticed that there is no batch delete on Custom Objects. I have read over the R16 release notes and I cannot see this as an enhancement, is anyone able to confirm if this functionality is actually included in R16.
    As this is only a few weeks away before we upgrade.

    Hi, I have an R16 account and i dont see the batch delete feature available for custom object :-(
