Peoplesoft Multi Lang Installation
Hi All,
I have installed PSFT 9.1 HCM with 8.53 PSFT tools in windows 2008 R2 server. Database version is 11gR2 (11.2.0.3). I have created database in AL32UTF8. Installed peopletools, application and peoplesoft database in Non-Unicode platform. Now the requirement is need to install Multi Lang. Can I install ML media pack on existing application? or Do i need to convert the peoplesoft system to Uncode and then install?. Please let me know.
Thanks,
Mani

How to setup multi node installation
Hi all,
I have successfully installed Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10 in a single node.
But, I would like to get some suggestions on How to perform the multinode installation in which all the application tier servers in independent nodes?
If the nodes are placed in different places geographically, how can I move all these nodes in to a single network? Is this possible?
Please guide me.
Thanking in advance
Rameshkumar1. Is it right if I assumed that we must check that
box if we want to install apps tier in more than one
server so that if we only want to install apps tier
in only one server then we don't need to check that
option? Or we better check it even no matter how many
server we installed apps tier into? You only need to check that box if you intend to used a shared application tier filesystem for a multi-node installation. If you are only going to have one app tier server, you don't need to check the box. If you plan on multiple apps tiers, each with its own copy of the application tier file system, you also don't need to check that box.
2. If I still uncheck that option will there be any
problem such as in backup & restore, clone, testing
activity, etc?No, should not be any problem at all.
3. When we created user for each db tier and apps
tier, what will be better, create the same user for
both tiers or differentiate user for each db tier and
apps tier? I'm thinking of using same user for both
tiers to avoid privilege problem later on.
I'd recommend the same user for application tier files on all nodes in the system, and a different user for database-tier files. For example, in our system the database software (RDBMS ORACLE_HOME) and database datafiles are owned by 'oracle', and the EBS application files (APPL_TOP, forms and web server, etc) are owned by a user called 'applprod' (though of course you should choose a user name that makes sense in your environment.
4. Can we start clone process in db tier and apps tier >paralel in multinode environment or still start clone >process in db tier first then apps tier?Still need to do the db tier first, since 'adcfgclone.pl appsTier' will want to talk to a database. :-)
Regards,
John P.

Oracle 10g multi node installation
Hi,
Multi node installation for Oracle 10g Appl Server
- Node A: Install core business Database server.
- Node B: Install Application Server Infrastructure (OID, repository database).
- Node C: Install Application server middle tier (forms, reports, portal, discoverer, java) at node C. must specify the OID server (node B). And configurre tnsnames to access database server (node A).
steps for this. Any doc or link
Thanking you
regards,As simple as you mentioned.
1.- Install db in node A
2.- Install Infra in node B, you will get a servername and port for OID (look on $OH/install/portlist.ini to get it), and the password, usually the same as for the System and Sys users for the repository.
3.- Install Apps in node C, even if you install infra and apps in same node, the installer will always promp for the OID server name and port wich I mentioned earlier.
4.- Configure node C tnsnames to access node A
Hope this helps

How to install Multi-Client Installation of Oracle Developer
Could someone help me figure out the documentation on how to do
a multi-client installation of Oracle Developer. I'm reading
the section 1.3 in the Getting Started manual for Oracle
Developer on NT. In trying to configure the OCSM host machine
there are no entries for installing OCCM or OCSA in the Oracle
Installer.
Could someone instruct me as to the proper way to do this? The
documentation just doesn't match the product.
Thanks
Ken
nullSounds like a good idea! Could you email me a sample of
the .reg file to edit. [email protected]
Thanks!

SAP BPC 5.1 multi-tier installation
We are implementing SAP BPC 5.1 as a multi-tier installation with 2 Windows servers.
Server 1 - SQL Server 2000 Database , OLAP & Reporting Services
Server 2 - Web / Application & Fileshare
Are there any issues that i need to be aware of with a multi-tier install ?
Service-level accounts for BPC - Do these accounts need to be the same between DEV and Prod. The install giude do not seem to indicate that these accounts have to be the same, however I just want to confirm
We did a trial installation and I get the following error :
Job name : http://wdsectest01vm/osoft/Launch.aspx
Detail : Unable to generate a temporary class (result=1). -- error CS2001: Source file C:Tempa71qdytz.0.cs could not be found -- error CS2008: No inputs specified --
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks
SubhaHello Subha,
You can test the PTR dns records using nslookup.
I will use db.example.com and app.example.com as the fully qualified domain names below.
Open a command prompt (Start -> Run and type cmd) and type the following
nslookup
app.example.com
note - this should return the ip address of the application server and represents
the host (A) record in DNS. Lets assume it returns an ip of 1.1.1.10
set type=PTR
1.1.1.10
note - this will return the reverse lookup (PTR) record for the ip address and
in this example should resolve to app.example.com
exit
After you complete the nslookup for the appserver do the same for the database servers fqdn (db.example.com).
You should perform this test on each tier. If you run into any inconsistencies then your network/DNS administrator should be able to assist you in getting the appropriate records created. -

[office] OpenOffice multi language installer in staging
hi
here is the newest OO creation from my side
a installer where you can choose your language you want
and it automatically generates a package and installs it
still binarys are used but it makes life easier
At the moment some languages are supported you can help to expand it
supported languages are:
us,de,fr,it,cs,nl,ja
to install type
pacman -S oo-installer
Feedback is very welcome
enjoy the installerHere is the gentoo.org ebuild
http://www.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.c … ld?rev=1.5
It seems that they also need gcc3.2/3 to get it working, but at least there seems to be options for multilanguage compile. I´ll try to compile it..

I need to install peoplesoft version 8.49 on my local machine to test some client specific tasks. we don't have the files for 8.49 on oracle e-delivery site but I have the access to the oracle support. Can anyone please let me know the related articles id for the files where I can download them for the installation? or is there anyway that you would suggest which helps me in installing the peoplesoft.
FYI, I need to install FSCM or HRMS module of same version.
Thanks a lot!8.49 installation files are not available for download on E-Delivery. If you are a Oracle customer, for getting these setup files, you have to open a Ticket with Oracle support and they will ship you the Discs with the setup files or they will place the setup files on E-Delivery for download.

Order Entry -Price Lists - Multi-Org Installation - Security
Oracle Order Entry Technical Forum
Hi,
Ours is a multi_org installation in ver 11.0.3. We have 7 organizations. Each organizations has its own Price lists. Each organisation does not want other organizations to view their price lists. As any responsibility who has access to price lists can view all the price lists on the system Can somebody guide me how to achieve the above?
nullOracle Order Entry is Multi-Org enabled. Can't you define responsibilities for each operating unit, and then link each responsibility to an operating unit using the profile option MO: Operating Unit (I believe this is the correct profile option. If not, there is one that you can use to perform this funtion.)
Once you do this, I believe that you can then effectively define a price list for each operating unit. Also, users will only be able to view and/or modify their own price lists.
Please let me know what the real solution is if this doesn't help.

Question regarding multi-language installation
Hello,
I would like to know if there are any known solution regarding multi-language packages for the different Creative Suites that we can create using AAMEE?
I was thinking to create a trial version with a serialization answer file after the installation, but I think I will run into issues using this method.
Thanks for the help!Hi,
Currently you cant create a single multi-language package using AAMEE. You will have to create a different package for every language. All the serial numbers will ultimately serialize the product in 1 language only. Even for serialization file approach you will have to create a trial package using AAMEE and trial packages are also language specific. If you have a multilingual serial number, my suggestion would be to create a serialized package for each language seperately and deploy them.
Thanks,

PeopleSoft VM template installation problem
Hello All,
I downloaded 2 people soft Oracle VM Templates.
OVM_EL5U2_X86_64_HCMDB_9_1_1_PVM
OVM_EL5U2_X86_64_TOOLS_8_51_02_HCM_9_1_1_PVM
I first created VM1 from OVM_EL5U2_X86_64_HCMDB_9_1_1_PVM and during db creation steps, gave
HR91 as SID, 1521 port.
Then I created VM2 from OVM_EL5U2_X86_64_TOOLS_8_51_02_HCM_9_1_1_PVM.
When I try to run
./psadmin and try to create the domain
I always get this error
Dabase Signon: Invalid user ID aor password for database signon. (id=system)
Now From second VM2, I can connect to DB on VM1 machine as using sqlplus
system/admin123
but can't connect as using sqlplus
sys/admin123 as sysdba
sysadm/sysadm as sysdba
While creating domain,
1. what database userid/password should I use
2. what is significance of AddToPath parameter
regards, YoraHello Nicolas,
Thanks for the reply, Let me try to answer all your questions.
>
I'm wondering why you want to create the appl domain, the VM deployment should create one by default.
>
I didn't see any domains created as part of VM creation. When I run psadmin and say "Administer a domain", I see empty domain list.
>
Moreover, system is not being used, and should not be used for Peoplesoft application. Use SYSADM instead, it is the owner of the entire Peoplesoft objects set. The SYSADM's password is SYSADM (in upper case). SYSADM is not being used to be sysdba against the database.
>
As you said I used sysadm/SYSADM to create domain, verified from sqlplus that sysadm/SYSADM user can connect to the db, but now the error is
"Database Signon: Invalid user ID or password for database signon. (id=sysadm)."
>
On the domain configuration, you should give a application user - not a database one - and for HCM, it should be PS.
>
Are you trying to say, while creation of domain, db/db-user doesn't come in picture.
well, while looking for a log file, I came across this file
/home/psadm2/psft/pt/8.51/appserv/APPDOM/LOGS/APPSRV_0102.LOG with contents,
so seems like there was a domain called APPDOM which installation probably tried to create, but failed due to some reasons.
PSAPPSRV.2311 (0) [01/02/09 16:10:01](0) PeopleTools Release 8.51.02 (Linux) starting. Tuxedo server is APPSRV(99)/1

PSAPPSRV.2311 (0) [01/02/09 16:10:02](1) GenMessageBox(0, 0, M): Database Signon: Could not sign on to database HR91 with user PS.
PSAPPSRV.2311 (0) [01/02/09 16:10:02](0) Server failed to start
Just tried logging in to db using PS/PS user and got this error
user PS lacks CREATE SESSION privilege; logon denied
Can anyone help here.

PeopleSoft Web Server installation Failing
You guys,
I am trying to set up PeopleSoft in a test envionment, in Red Hat Linux, for development purposes (the company that I work for maps Software Infrastructure).
I managed to install the Database Server and the Application Server, both the PeopleTools and their FSCM counterparts.
I am now trying to install the Web Server, with WebLogic 9.2. However, I am unable to complete the installation properly. After I choose all the various options in PsMpPIAInstall/setup.linux, I am prompted with this message:
Warning: /opt/PT8.49/webserv/peoplesoft/applications/people soft/PSOL.war/WEB-INF/lib does not exist. (PSChangeSharedLibPermission)
INSTALL FAILED!!!
The problem is, the directory /opt/PT8.49/webserv is completely empty. Is it supposed to be populated? When was it supposed to be populated? Which installation step did I misdo? Am I doing anything wrong?
The log file is empty, by the way, and I amn't really sure how to proceed.
Thanks for your replies.
Edoardo L'AstorinaWhat user did you use to run the PsMpPIAInstall ? Is it the owner of the Peopletools installation binaries ? Did you run the psconfig.sh script before running the deployment.
Have a look to that article I wrote some mone ago, seems similar issue :

PradeepThe PeopleSoft install documents are excellent with regards to these steps. If you don't already have one, you should definitely get it from -
https://support.oracle.com/CSP/ui/flash.html#tab=KBHome%28page=KBHome&id=%28%29%29,%28page=KBNavigator&id=%28from=BOOKMARK&bmDocType=REFERENCE&bmDocDsrc=DOCUMENT&bmDocTitle=Enterprise%20PeopleTools%208.49%20Installation%20Guides&viewingMode=1143&bmDocID=703595.1%29%29
Also, you will need 3 separate peoplesoft installs (separate peopletools and application homes) for Fin, HR and SCM. -
Multi-master, multi-proxy installation
hi,
hope I'm at the right forum.. we're trying to implement a highly available installation of a sun one LDAP directory. we would like to have (at least) 2 master ldaps for redundancy, as well as (at least) 2 proxy ldaps (load balanced).
however, when installing any of the ldap servers, I am prompted for a "server containing the ldap configuration directory". obviousely, I do not want to have one ldap responsible for maintaining this config dir, so as not to create a single point of failure. also, when attempting to register a second master ldap withing this config dir, the configuration directory seems to have become corrupted, and since then, i am no longer able to access the administration server for the ldap responsible for the config dir.
TIA for your help
Joemy questions is, basically, what do I type in when prompted for a "server containing the ldap configuration directory" ?
one centralized master-ldap? should each master ldap store its own configuration directory? if so, which configuration directory do I type in for the proxy-ldaps?
