Which has more demand in the current job market ? - Peoplesoft or SAP - HR ?
I am planning to take up one of these two and do a complete course/certification on it . Pls advice

I have done a few projects like this in Germany. The right migration strategy depends from the personal resources and appropriate tools, which are available. No project is like the another.
If you start your migration experiences you will use standard tools like LSMW (Legacy System Workbench for HR Master Data) and self written ABAP's (migration of payroll results).
Often it seems better to realize the business logic (only) at SAP. Don't do it too much on both sides.

I see what you mean now. It sounds like you'll need to pull in the tables from various studio databases and also edit some of the native studio application tables to associate the new tables. Unfortunately I've never tried this and don't have any instructions I can share with you. In terms of the portlets, i'm not sure how easy it would be to migrate them. You could upgrade the various WCI instances to 10g then use the migration utility to move the studio portlets to your main wci 10g instance. Or like you said, create new portlets. Keep in mind direct manipulation of your databases can render your product unsupportible by technical support. The more supportable alternative may be to just build all the studio databases and portlets from scratch in the new instance.

Peoplesoft uses mainframes and we cannot use JDBC ...JDBC adapter is used to read the records from the table,
If your Landscape has Tibco/MQ you can ask the Peoplesoft team to run the Job Card to post the messages in the Queue of Tibco/MQ from there with the help of JMS adapter you can read the message and pass to PI.

Integrating Oracle Apps, Peoplesoft and SAP

Hi,
Our company has various system like Oracle Apps, Peoplesoft, SAP and some custom systems which uses microsoft active directory. All the system has a common User ID but diffrent password as set by the user. For now every user have to remember 4 different passwords and username(in some cases).
We wish to integrate the Authentication process using BPEL. Some thing like a SSO so the user will login into a new application(Build using ADF) which will contain the links to all the above stated application. With this new application the user will have to remember only one user name and password and this user name and password will be sinked with all the other applications using BPEL.
Can you guys through some ideas as in how we can acchive this? Is it possible to integrate the Authentication process using BPEL?

Why dont you synch ypur users in OPID and keep one username password there and then use external application or portal context to authenticate to all your other applications?

I am working with a client who is interested in creating an HR mini master to support the use of CATS integration with Timelink for tracking indirect labor via activity types and internal orders. Peoplesoft is there system of record for HR data. They are interested in finding out what options are available to interface SAP to Peoplesoft to keep the HR mini master synchronized between systems. I owe my customer an estimate of what it will take to build this interface.
Based on your research to resolve your issue, do you have any advice for me to resolve mine?

It is not, but it is cost effective.

iWay has an PeopleSoft adapter, but you need to buy the license (not sure how much it costs, some adapters were charged based on the data volume and some were charged straight per adapter depends how you negotiate).

Devloping the Custom IDoc - Integration sceanarios with Peoplesoft

HI All,
We are on mySAP ERP 2005 with SAP HR on the same instance box, PI 7.0 on other instance, and need to integrate for getting the employee data from Peoplesoft into SAP HR.
I suspect that, this requirement can be fullfilled via Custom Idoc. Correct if I am wrong. plz...need ur expertise inputs for the same.
In SAP HR we are having some Infotypes. While developing the custome Idoc, each Infotype should be added as a segment.
We are having the Standard Idoc for SAP HRMS is HRMD_A.HRMD_A06.
In this case how to develop the custom Idoc to include all Infotypes?
Should I write the code to insert the dato from that Idoc to tables.
Please suggest me the procedure.

And you said they are sening IDOC_XML to you through http, then how it is having namespace, it should be plain Idoc_xml

The scenario is a continuous on going process.
Peoplesoft will be the main system to maintain employee master records and will replicate the employee creation or change back to SAP R/3.
Is there any involvement of BAPI's in this process??? If so how can this be achieved?

IDoc error in posting salaried headcount IDoc type is ACC_STAT_KEY_FIG

Hello Experts,
We created an Idoc for uploading headcount from peoplesoft to SAP. When we tried to post the statistical key figures, it gave a message "XXXX doesnt exist in the controlling are ABC". we edited the document and mapped it to existing SKF. When we try to post it, the status is 51 with the message "Multiple posting of same key figure to one object is redundant". Please help in how to correct this error.
I have a suspicion that the statistical key figure is parked somewhere. If so Please help me try to retrieve that

Hi,
For the Legacy system migration workbench, first you need to decide how you are going to transfer the data. Ex: The master data can be split into general data, company code data and Sales area data. Initially you need to collect the data from the legacy system (peoplesoft) and then map it to the sap system for ex: cust X in people soft can be called as XXX00 in sap and so on. Then you can add the remaining details by which you have split the files . See to it that the legacy and sap numbers are maintained in all the files . Based on the fields in the files you can create a lsmw and map it.. you can take help of an abaper in this regard. Maintain the files in either excel or notepad based on your convenience and requirement.
