If it's stuck on the Apple logo and progress bar then try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should reappear and it should book up.
If that doesn't fix it then try recovery mode, and you can then restore/resync your content to it : Si no puedes actualizar o restaurar tu dispositivo iOS
    For https://translate.google.com :
Si se ha pegado en el logo y la barra de progreso de Apple a continuación, intente un soft-reset: pulse y mantenga tanto el sueño y botones de inicio durante unos 10 a 15 segundos, después de lo cual el logotipo de Apple debería volver a aparecer y se debe reservar para arriba.
Si eso no se soluciona luego tratar el modo de recuperación y, a continuación, puede restaurar / sincronizar su contenido a la miasma : Si no puedes actualizar o restaurar tu dispositivo iOS

  • I continue to be unable to access any of my iBooks on my new iPad 2, even though I've updated to iOS 8.1.2. Any thoughts?

I upgraded to an ipad 2 around the same time as I upgraded to iOS 8.1, and I haven't been able to access any of my iBooks from my previous ipad. They are present in my iTunes. They all appear in my ipad's iBook app, but they're all grayed out. I have tried to reload them from iTunes to no avail. I've tried to reload them on the ipad via the iTunes store, but they give an eternal "downloading" message and never actually download. I've tried removing the books to see if I could repurchase them, but I can't do that. All of my books are stuck in an eternal stasis. I tried to call the help line -- they walked me so far back through the basic steps that I'd already tried that I ran out of time, and I've been unable to reconnect with them to solve my open case. I'm beyond frustrated at this point. I thought it was a bug that they'd likely fix, but the last iOS update only fixed the ringtone bug (that sounds similar to what's going on with my iBooks). Can anyone help?

I would be helpful to know what those "basic steps" you have already tried are, but lacking that information:
Settings app > iTunes & App Stores - sign out of your AppleID
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
Sign back into your AppleID (same location as noted above)

  • I have iBooks 2.1 on ipad. I changed my password and can no longer update the app. If I delete the app and install the updated version, will I lose the books I have purchased?

I have iBooks 2.1 on ipad. I changed my password and can no longer update the app. If I delete the app and install the updated version, will I lose the books I have purchased?

Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in and see if you can then update the app.
If you do delete the app then you should be able to re-download your ibook purchases via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the app. But in case some of them are no longer available in the store and/or you have PDFs or epubs in it, then you could first connect it to your computer's iTunes and do File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11) which should copy them over to the Books part of your iTunes library so that you have your own copy of them and can sync them back (even though they aren't iTunes purchases it should also copy over any PDFs or epubs that you have in the iBooks app)

  • Why Does iBooks on My Original iPad Keep Crashing Every Time I Try to Access Highlight and Notes?

I made 300 page book in iBooks Author and added it as a preview/proof within iBooks on a original iPad with the most up-to-date software. I was able to read the whole book, highlight sections and take notes. In the beginning, I could access them, but now that I've finished the book I can no longer. Whenever I click on the Notes button the whole app crashes. Nothing shows up under Table of Contents or Bookmarks, even though the book has highlights and notes all over it. Quitting the app from the multi-task bar and restarting the iPad haven't helped. The book won't sync with my iPhone because it's from iBooks Author, so I can't try it there. I even tried Bookmarks Extractor and my notes didn't come up. And there's no share option like there is for purchased books. Help! I need them!

Hi - I'm trying to sync iBooks on my Macbook Pro with iBooks running on my iPad. I have some pdf's download from the net I want to share between devices and I can't work out how to sync the two devices. Any help please? I'm running Mavericks

Thanks for your help Brij011 - much appreciated. Apologies as I'm a newbie but I've looked at the info for synching and I appear to have all the switches flicked on my iPad. Does the iPad and iBooks only sync in iCloud for purchases as I appear to be doing something wrong. I could sync ok when books was in iTunes but since migrating to Mavericks I think I'm doing something wrong!!

If you  want to create eBooks on iPad only,  there is Apples "Pages" that be installed on iPads and also, there are a number of apps in the store for making ebooks on iPad. I use "Book Creator"  from Red Jumper which has a free trial version.
However,  if you want the  books on Apples store... you need a Mac computer or use a third party who can  do this for you.

  • HT5826 How do I transfer my hundreds of pdf files from iBooks on my mini iPad to iBooks on my iMac?

How do I transfer my hundreds of pdf files in various folders in iBooks on my mini iPad to the unpopulated folders in iBooks on my new iMac computer?

I don't know of an efficient way to copy all the PDFs in one go, although it might be possible using a thrid party tool. If your iPad isn't associated with your current library however see the user tip Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device

  • Purchased iBook disappeared after upgrading iPad to iOS 8.  Unable to re-download.

A student at my school recently lost an iBook after upgrading his iPad to iOS 8.  After the upgrade, the book was just no longer on his bookshelf.  Now, when trying to re-download from his Purchased list, the book just appears grayed out and does not download. He can download the book on his iPhone, which is iOS 7.  We've tried:  closing/re-opening iBooks, signing out/in of his Apple ID, Home button-Power button resetting the iPad, signing out of iTunes, checking storage despite not getting any errors (has 3GB available, book is under 10MB).  No luck with any of that.. just a grayed out book that won't download.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks

Thank you SO much Stephaniefromlancaster -
I tried your solution and you're not nuts   It worked!!!

  • Actions defined in Keynote are supported in iPad iBooks and not in iPad Keynote itself...

When I use actions in the build of slides produced with Keynote on my Mac, they work well on my iPad when I integrate this Keynote presentation in iBooks Author using the Keynote Widget.
But strangely enough actions used in a Keynote produced on my Mac, are not supported and ignored when I want to run that presentation in Keynote on my iPad.
So there are actually some Mac Keynote features that work in iPad's iBooks but not on iPad's Keynote.
Can anybody explain these inconsistencies between Apple apps please?

I came across this discussion and thought I could share something that I discovered today. This may help so here goes:
When creating a keynote presentation on the MAC OSX (Hyperlinks ONLY) (I use Lion 10.7.4), then sending to brand new iPad (Version 3) via iTunes, many of the Hyperlinks did not work as well. Heres what I found out by process of elimination, and you might try.
It turns out the Hyperlinks DO NOT WORK on the iPad when the hyperlinked item is part of a "Group" of items. The odd part is if you ungroup the items and then select ONLY the one item to be hyperlinked, then go to the tools, advanced, "Interactive hyperlinks" the hyperlink created on the Mac already shows up correctly, becuase it was there the whole time ! Bizzare, dont you think. For some reason Keynote on an iPad does NOT like any of the hyperlinks to be part of "grouped" items with any other items or they DON'T work !
MY solution is this (A slight paint, but it worked 100%) Create your entire presenation, then make a copy version of the file, then enter the new version and make sure  ALL hyperlinked items are ungrouped. Then resend to iTunes, and import into Keynote on iPad and Voila !!
    I hope this helps.

  • Problem installing iBooks on the original iPad

    Hi!
I have three apple products in the house: an old original iPad, an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 5s.
The original iPad is on iOS 5.1.1 - there is no support of a newer version of iOS for this product. I was particularly using this device for  reading, with tons of books loaded in iBooks.
Yesterday the device (itself) decided to update the iBooks app but was stuck in the middle. I had to delete the app and tried to reinstall it anew from the AppStore. However the version currently available at the AppStore won't install, telling that I need to update to iOS 7 (which is not available for this device).
Is there a way to install an older version of iBooks on the original iPad?
    Thank you.

Yes, there is a way to download iBooks to your original iPad.  Last October, Apple quietly came up with a way.  Follow these simple steps.
    Open iTunes on your computer
Go to the App Store and download iBooks to your iTunes librarry
No, go to your iPad.  Tap the purchased tab in the App Store
You should see iBooks with a cloud icon next to it
Tap the cloud and you will be given the option of downloading a version for a lower iOS version

how to download applications like the ibooks and iworks for ipad in india

At this point you will only be able to download whatever is available in the Apps Store in the iTunes Store for India. I doubt very much iBooks or iWorks will be available until the iPad has actually been released for India.

  • How do I change nation settings in the iBooks Store on my iPad?

As a native English speaker living in Holland I would prefer to be able to go the UK iBooks Store on my iPad. How do I get it to change from the Dutch language store to the UK one by default?

You can only use the store in the country where your iTunes account is based - so if you are in the Netherlands you can only use the Dutch stores. To be able to use the UK store you would need a valid address in the UK and be in the UK when purchasing. Have you tried other ebook apps/stores ?
