Perfect Headphones for Zen Nano P

I love my new Zen Nano Plus. The only thing I did not about it were the headphones they came with. The sound was tinny and they are very uncomfortable to wear. I just bought the perfect headphones for this player. The company is called Koss the they headphones are called Sparkplugs. They go in the ear and the cushion custom molds to your ear shape. They are very comfortable and the sound is amazing. They are only around $20.
I recommend them highly!

Sony also makes some great headphones too! Got my girlfriend some for her 52mb Zneno Nano Plus. When I went to Fry's Electronics, they literally had 75-00 different headphones ranging from $5 to $200. I sure was overwhelmed, but she got what she liked and is very pleased. I heard Sony was one of the btter ones, but it can really be hard to tell!

• Headphones for Zen Nano P

Hello,?As it is not specified in its description page, I was wandering if normal headphones could be used for the Zen Nano Plus Mp3 Player, rather than the normal earphones. I'm talking of any headphones or earphones rather than those sold with the Mp3. The answer is probably quite obvious but as nothing was really specified, I keep wandering and I really don't want to end up having to use only earphones... ^^?Thank you for your help !

You can use any headphones with a 3.5mm stereo plug on the end, ideally ones with an impedance of 32 Ohms which is the same as the originals. 6 Ohm impedance 'phones/plugs will work but may sound quieter. There are a lot of threads where different 'phones are recommended. PB

• NO LONGER THE BEST HEADPHONES FOR ZEN TO

********** UPDATE **********

I can no longer recommend these earbuds due to poor quality. Mine broke after only a few weeks of moderate use. I handled them gingerly too. The left channel lost all bass and 50% of the volume. In my opinion, this is simply inexcuseable! I returned them and got another pair, but that is besides the point. Now I'll have to listen with my fingers crossed, hoping and praying that this pair dosen't unexpectedly die for no reason. With this kind of poor quality control, I can no longer recommend these. In spite of how great they sound, I'd have to tell you to buy at your own risk!
If you want your Zen Touch to reach its full potential, you need to upgrade your headphones. The included earbuds are OK, but they don't bring out the best in the Zen. The ones I would highly recommend are the Sony MDR-EX7SL. I've never been interested in the in the ear style headphones before. I always assumed that they just couldn't produce sufficient bass because of their small drivers. Boy was I wrong. Unlike conventional over the ear headphones, earbuds don't rely on large size drivers to produce bass. Their bass is achieved through an "air tight seal". That's why these come with three different size silicon ear buds. A tight seal is essential, yet easily achieved with one of the three different sizes included. The sound reproduced by these is astonishing! I have no desire to go back to full size over the ear headphones. The bass is deep, well controlled and tight with no distortion or muddyness. The midrange is airy and transparent. The highs are pristine and velvety smooth. All frequencies are well balanced. These things are so tiny, when you first see them you can't help but be skeptical. One listen and your jaw will drop. If you read any negati've reviews about these babies, the reviewer probably doesn't have the proper fit. They also come in white, which is a perfect match for my Creative Zen Touch 40GB. Run out and buy these now! Trust me. You won't regret it.
One note. If you want to save yourself $0.00, you can get the MDR-EX5SL instead. They use the same exact drivers. The only differences are: they come in black only, they have a single 4 ft. cord instead of a two piece cord, they only come with two different size silicon earbuds (instead of 3) and there is no carrying case included.
Cons: Carrying case could be a little bigger.

I think the 5s are a better value. I'll confess. I bought the 7s because I liked the white.

• Rescue mode for zen nano pl

Is there a rescue/recovery mode for the zen nano plus?

I doubt it, as it's basically a revised MuVo N200. Some of the MuVo's have a special mode you can put them in for updating the firmware, but as there is no firmware available for the Zen Nano yet there's no point in using it.

• PlaysForSure Firmware upgrade for Zen Nano/Nano P

i think that it would be absolutely awesome if us nano/nano plus owners could listen to the suscription service music like Yahoo Music Unlimited and Napster to go. I want creative to come out with a firmware upgrade for the nano to make this possible. If you want this firmware upgrade, please sign.

There may be hardware limits that prevent these players from using subscription music, such as a secure realtime clock. Also this petition could probably be extended for all the flash players (whether capable or not).
But remember the Xtra and Touch got PFS support and I dont think they were designed with a secure clock in them.... so based on that flash players could have PFS support

• Headphones for the nano

I'm planning to buy a nano next week but I still haven't decided on what earphones I should get (if any).
Could you give me some advice on a decent pair that won't eat a hole in my wallet (= preferably not over 50€). Two alternatives I've been looking at is "Koss the plug" and "Sony MDR-EX71" since I hate it when earphones fall out of my ears while I'm running or exercising.
Jon

You might like the fit - and improved bass - by using the Griffin iJammers - which slip onto the stock iPod earpieces. Only about US$20. I find them very comfortable.
I have seen the following "problem report" with the Sony units you cited. And since you're an "active" person, you may want to heed this report:
"...everything good about the sound quality [of the Sony MDR-EX71] is erased by an extremely poor choice in cable.
"And no, I don't mean "one earpiece wire is longer than the other" - that's called street-style (well, used-to-be). Sony have been making headphones like this for 15 years. The problem is sheath quality. I'll explain:
"Inside the cable to each earpiece, you have two thin copper cables that actually carry the sound. With Sony headphones, the copper is actually wound around some stronger nylon fibres, to make the cable less prone to breaking when tugged on - say, when you drop your Walkman. This is a fantastic idea, normally, but in the case of these headphones, the "sheath" or black rubber on the outside of the cable is too soft. So, as the wires inside twist and bend in regular operation, the sheath comes loose and eventually tears away completely, leaving you with really ugly and expensive black marks on all your shirts.
"Sony provide a case to hold the earpieces together when not in use, and this is theoretically supposed to counteract the sheath problems by preventing twists. In practise, this just doesn't work however, as you'll often pull out one ear to hear someone talk or answer your phone, by which time a twist has started."

• Headphones for Zen 2

Has anyone upgraded their headphones which came with their mp3 player. I have a 20gb zen touch and the headphones with it are reasonably good but noise levels increase as you get nearer to the top volume. Before I purchased it a lot of magazines were recommending a better pair of headphones. Whatsmore has anyone any suggestions for other accessories which would enhance the experience.

Search the forum and read the FAQ, there are many posts about better headphones.
I also like my EX7's. Also look at the EX5's, they are the samy as the 7's, they just have a shorter cord. The 7's have a connector in the middle of the cord for a wired remote, but the problem is that the cord is very very long.

• Good Headphones for Zen To

Hi everybody! As I already noticed, most of the people who have Zen Touch do not satisfy it's original headphones. Well, me neither. So could anybody suggest me some kind of good headphones that You are using now with your Zen Touch. Please indicate the brand & the model.

I kinda feel like I wasted my money on the etymotic er6i. Its just sounds a bit pants on the zen touch. I tried flat EQ, all the presets and every custom EQ combination possible yet it just sounds like ?30 pair of semi-decent 2.0 desktop speakers, with bass sounding like a wet fart and treble thats sounds as if its being choked. It probably sounds more accurate, but that don't mean a thing if the music doesn't sound good to my ears. Yet as soon as I plug them into my PC its a completely different picture, with plenty of rich, deep accurate bass and crystal clear treble. I thought it was incorrect fitting, but that can't be the case otherwise I wouldn't be getting so much bass and isolation when using my PC.
To me the EX7s sound so much better, theyre more like a good ?50 2. subwoofer system, not too accurate but very powerful and fun to listen too. I feel cheated, as I specifically got the er6is because it said it had enhanced bass response and was designed for portable mp3 players. I listen to a wide variety of music, ranging from The Cranberries to The Chemical Brothers, yet none of them sound good with my zen touch + er6i combination.
I wonder how your rio karma + er4p setup sounds SSR? From what i've heard the karma has one of the best built-in amps and custom EQs out of all the HD players. However much I like my zen touch, i'd still replace it with a karma if I had the chance.

• Bluetooth earbuds or headphones for iPod nano

Which bluetooth earbuds or headphones are compatible with the iPod nano?

I use these with my iPhone and they're pretty good:

It says in the specs they support A2DP so if deggie's right they'll work with the nano too.

• Best headphones for ipod nano 5gen 8gb music wise?

Hi,
Just got my first ever ipod. I got the earbuds and am reasonably happy with them, but they do not provide the eardrum damaging bass and volume capabilities I require, even at full volume. I have tried my other pair of full sized Seinheisser headphones, which I use for my Sony Floor system and they have improved the quality of the sound immensely, but the volume has dropped right off. Any suggestions for maybe some mid sized earphones that will give me that high quality, and volume I need to for my dance tracks? Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks

It is a subjective issue, but thats what I got for myself

• Broken battery cover for Zen Nano P

Riding in the car, playing w Nano Plus, the thing slipped and swung maybe 3 inches, and cracked off the little appendage of the battery cover that slips inside and keeps the battery cover from sliding off. Can I buy a new one someplace, or am I relegated tothe world of Duct Tape?
Tunerman

I happen to agree with abh5. The design of this mp3 player is a JOKE!!!
The battery cover breaks off when you least expect it, and it's so small, you don't feel it, so there's no telling where the cover lands. Going thru Creative is a JOKE! I already got a free battery cover replacement, but within a month, THAT?broke as well! I contacted Creative, and they said it's going to cost this time. Now, I'm expected to pay approximately $20 to get another cover (with shipping)! I told them that this is NOT an uncommon problem, and directed them to several different sites that discuss this problem (with still no solution), and that's where the conversation ended. I REALLY wish I hadn't bought this one. I guess I should have done my research, but I purchased it when it first came out, so it wouldn't have done any good. What a joke! Stay away from this product, unless you want to lose battery covers and batteries over and over. That becomes expensi've, especially if you are taking the economical way and using rechargable batteries! STAY AWAY! AVOID!

• Headphones for Nano

Any suggestions for outside the ear headphones for the Nano?

I don't have a recommendation for the headphones, but you can consider getting an "adapter" that has the control buttons. For example,
http://www.amazon.com/Griffin-Headphone-Control-Adapter-iPod/dp/B003A5AXP4
There are several products of this type. The controls will be closer to the iPod, compared to controls that are on the headphones cord. But with the adapter, you can use ANY standard headphones, including old headphones from a Walkman.
Also, you should provide the specific iPod nano model, because compatibility may be different.
