Perfect? No. But hey, thanks for what does wo

I think I've been pretty even minded regarding Creative's progress with their Vista support for my Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro. Yeah, lots of stuff doesn't work and some things that worked with prior beta driver versions or even using XP drivers no longer do. Weird needing the earlier non-functional MediaSource software installed for the new one to encode mp3's (unless buying the new codec, which I did to avoid needing to install that old stuff). Limited Soundfont support and only in MediaSource Player. No more AdvancedEQ. No more Dolby Decoding (well, PowerDVD 7 does it). However, I have never had audio not working in Vista. And I have never had less than exceptional sound quality. Now, if I just turn up the bass and treble in Vista's AudioControl it still sounds great even without Advanced EQ. (I would like that back though. No real fine tuning the hardware, just software player eq's this way.)?I've read of lots of problems folks have had, but my headphone jack on the breakout box works. The AudioConsole successfully switches the audio between my headphone being plugged in or my 2. speakers, etc. The CMSS does give me proper seperation with my headphones, speakers. So the basic stuff with slight extra (jack detect, CMSS) work. No audio glitches. And the new driver does fix any problems with accessing the Vista AudioControl, whereas with older beta's the control would only open once and wouldn't remember settings. It now works fine. I only adjust the configuration in Creative AudioConsole though. The documentation said not to use the Vista Speaker setup so I've never opened that. I really have no complaints except to please give us back our advanced features that really make the card's purchase worth it. And do something about MediaSource not knowing we already paid for mp3 encoding when we spent $300 for our retail card. It shouldn't need to have the unoperable cd software installed to know this. So, thanks for not leaving us barren of quality sound like your M-Audio competitors have. Their policy is we have nothing for you and please don't ask us about it. But feel free to keep buying our cards!?Creative could have kept its development entirely in house and not released anything until, or after Vista is in retail outlets and installed on OEM computers in stores. They did not. They could have deleated any forum post references to Vista and simply announced that support for some cards may come when Vista is released or some time thereafter. They did not. They have shared the information regarding the new Vista API's and have related what they will be doing to get things adjusted so they work for most features most people still want from soundcards. Pretty good communication, in my view. As well as pretty darned good support during the beta Vista period. I just hope more is coming than what is provided now. I can switch to my onboard and get similar at the moment. But, thanks for what does work!

Please do not respond if you're not sure of the answer.  In this care you've given completely ERRONEOUS information.
AppleCare extends Apple's 12 month warranty.  It is NOT insurance on the phone, and certainly does NOT cover accidental damage like breakage.
BTW, in this context you "break" the iPhone, not "brake" it.

For what does the BPEL engine need a domain ?
Where (in which file) is specified to which domain the BPEL Manager

Is it a difference if the domains are defined in table
    orabpel.domain

Background: My domain "default" exists in table but BEPL Manager could not connect here

We currently have 3 domains for BPEL. We use them because they a) serve different purposes, b) we tweak the domain level threads.
I believe bpel manager will, by default, connect to the which ever domain starts with the letter closest to A.
I also think the user account is orabpel, which connects to the bpel schema.

  • Multiple people claim I called them, but I didn't, what does it mean?

I've been getting numerous calls claiming that I called them but when I go back to my call history, I didn't call them ever.  What does this mean and is there a way to fix this?

That certainly is a conundrum! I want to help, appleiphone4s! So let me clarify, you do not have record in your phone, nor on your call logs online, that you called someone, however, they do? Correct? Could you explain a bit more about the calls they are getting? Do they pick up? What happens? Any message left? Do their call logs on the phone match what is showing online (http://bit.ly/xB4iTc) on the bill? It sounds like someone may be spoofing your number. This basically means that they are calling from another number, but using a program to make the call look like it's coming from your number. You can find out more information here http://www.fcc.gov/guides/caller-id-and-spoofing.
There really isn't any way to prevent this from happening. You always have the option of changing your number online to prevent these occurances. Please reach out if you have any other questions.

  • What does enter password for what does cardDAV account "yahoo" mean on ipad 2

what does enter password for cardDAV account "yahoo" mean on ipad 2

I'm having exactly the same problem. I saw no further responses and am wondering if you resolved this. Just bought the newest iPad. I'm a comfortable user as I'm on my 3rd iPad. Never seen this asked of me. Incidentally I am also trying to resolve why I "can't connect to apple store". For that I have reset "network settings" & forgotten my wireless network. I'm starting to wonder if the CArdDAV and "can't connect to the apple store are related. I can reach the Internet via Mail & Safari. I have a weak g3 connection. Not able to download anything via that as it's slow right now. I am trying to restore my apps after a theft of my old one. I have quite a few apps I need to download and I can make none of them happen. And every time I reboot the "cardDAV password" request comes up, repeatedly.

  • OmniOutliner: Is this a trial version and what is it for (what does it do)?

I just noticed that I've got this app called OmniOutliner. I fired it up and it looks like it's a fully registered version but I did not buy this.
Also, what is this software for? It appears to be a text editor of some sort.
And does anybody use it and if so, what for?

When I bought my MacBook last year, it included a licensed copy of OmniOutliner.. So, as long as they haven't changed, it is not a trial.
I used it to take notes at school, but it's good for any time you need or want to make an outline.

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • Annoying Pop-Up Starting Photoshop - What Does It Mean and How to Solve?

Every time I open Photoshop I get this pop-up message saying,
"For the Photoshop UI to display correctly, open System Preferences, click Appearance, and turn off text smoothing for font sizes 8 and smaller."
I have no idea what this means. I just keep clicking 'ok' and I'm taken to the interface without so much as a hiccup. There's an option not to display the message again but I don't know if it would be optimal for me to do something about this or not. My question is, what exactly is this message, should I do something about, and if so, what? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Also, I'm running Photoshop CS5 Extended on a Quad-Core iMac with Snow Leopard OSX 10.6.8

@Jeff - Thanks but...no thanks. If you misconstrued that as attitude, well, I apologize for your sensitivity. I'd rather sound silly over unrelevent like your post and apparently that pop-up. The pop-up message is clear, yes I know. As if my last two posts didn't get across what I was getting at, maybe third times a charm. My text anti-aliasing prefs are set just fine, no mis-set here. Whether the setting is changed or not the UI displays perfectly. Why be bothered to change something that's fine as it is? in comparing the UI in the most minute detail with the preferred settings of Photoshop or my default settings on my system, both are fine.
Uh huh...well, I'm glad you're happy with the System Preferences set where you have them...I'm running 5 different displays (all LCDs) with the option set to turn off text smooting for fonts at 6 and smaller...with no problems with readability.
Not sure exactly why you would want to set your prefes to 4 and smaller (you still haven't given a reasonable reason). But Chris gave you the way to avoid the warning...whether or not you want to avail yourself to the solution is up to you.
Personally, I hope you keep it at 4 and under and remember this discussion each and everytime you see that nag warning...and remember it's within your power to avoid it.
Just to be clear, 6 and under is Apple default and you've still not given a real reason why you changed it...and the odds of Adobe changing the warning are about as close to zero as you might imaginge since as far as I can remember, you're the first person to complain.
But hey, you do what you wanna do. No skin off my nose, ya know?

  • Adobe Reader for Blackberry Does Not Support Fillable Forms

I've discovered that the version released for Android does support fillable forms, but the version for Blackberry does not.  I assume Blackberry did not develop the app so what gives?

    Mehwish,
Thank you so much for responding, and so quickly. I appreciate it.
It does not appear as though the PDF I am trying to read would have an element in it that would block it from reflow, but that is always possible. It’s a textbook, and I understand that toward the end of the book there are some charts and diagrams, but I haven’t gotten to those chapters yet. So far, I’ve just been trying to use the Adobe Reader to read the introduction and first chapter and nothing I have done has made it reflow.
I’m enclosing a copy of the entire book. Perhaps you can uncover something in it that I didn’t see.
    Thanks again for you help.

  • When is Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 released, and what does 2.0 offer?

We are running Prime Infrastructure 1.3 primarily for wireless management at this point.  We have enough licenses to add all our switches, routers, and firewalls, but we're hesitant to do so until 2.0 comes out.  While there are some features for backing up and configuring switches and routers, 1.3 still seems pretty limited in regards to non-wireless features.  For example, nearly every report in 1.3 is for wireless controllers or AP's, there are no reports I've found relevent for switches and routers.  I've read a lot of blogs, cisco posts, and white papers talking about how Cisco Prime Infrastrucure 2.0 will finally consolidate Prime into a truly all-in-one network management suite that can manage the entire Cisco environment.  Does anyone know when it's officially being released?  Does anyone have an tech sheets on what's new in 2.0, or what its capabilities are?  I want to better understand what 2.0 has to offer, when it's coming out, how to upgrade, so I can start planning for the upgrade and eventually importing all our network devices to Cisco Prime for centralized management.  Any useful information or links would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Christian

PI 2.0 is in Beta mode for testing in closed group already. However it may still take some time to get released on CCO for FCS.
I think it is expected to be released between aug-sep. BU has also started working on CPI 2.1, which you can see test uploads on CCO.
For what does it have for customers?
    > As Cisco have a vision of one network Management software for both wired and wireless infrastructure, which started getting real partially with Cisco PI.
As WCS got evolved to NCS and eventually to Cisco Prime Infrastructure, but it doesnt yet have full Management capability for wired infra., which is there with LMS.
With CPI 2.x Cisco plans to blend entire LMS and WCS features together.
    -Thanks

  • What does mdadm's sync_action check do?

Obviously, it checks the RAID array you run it on, but I'd like to know more specifics on what it does and does not do. For instance, through some testing and reading of docs, I've deduced that it does *not* do any kind of comparison between data (this is on a RAID-1 mirrored array). This is by design:
RAID (be it hardware or software), assumes that if a write to a disk doesn't return an error, then the write was successful. [...] RAID cannot, and is not supposed to, guard against data corruption on the media. Therefore, it doesn't make any sense either, to purposely corrupt data (using dd for example) on a disk to see how the RAID system will handle that.
    (from https://raid.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/ … nd_testing )
(I kind of wish that it *would* do a binary comparison, just to make me feel better... but anyway.)
So, what *does* it do? Does it just do the equivalent of
    dd if=/dev/sdXA of=/dev/null
    dd if=/dev/sdYA of=/dev/null
just to ensure that the drives can read those sectors? And what does it do in case the drive returns a read error? I would expect that to result in a "check failed" message somewhere, but apparently that's not always the case.
During a check on one of my servers, the dmesg showed a bunch of read errors from the first drive, and the SMART log confirms that... but the check succeeded. And strangely, the drive now reads successfully from start to finish, and using dd and diff, I was able to confirm that the "bad" regions on that drive are now readable and binary identical to the good mirror.
I'm guessing what happened is that if mdadm encounters a bad sector while reading, it assumes the drive will swap in one of its spare sectors, and tries to copy the data from the good drive back onto the bad sector, then retries the read of that sector -- if the drive returns a successful read, it means the bad sector was fixed, and mdadm doesn't have to treat it as a problem any more. Is that right? I can't find that in the docs anywhere, and I'd like to know for sure. (Still gonna replace the drive in the mean time.)
    ~Felix.

oohhhhh, that makes sense. I've seen the steps that do the truncate and build indexes and such but I didn't connect that back to the physical data sources. D'uh!
    Thanks!

  • What does iMovie (09) do when I select "Export Movie"?

I can't believe this isn't an FAQ, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. I love iMovie but, as many people realize quickly, part of what makes iMovie so simple to use is that it assumes certain things so that the endusers don't have to worry about them.
Well, I guess "Export Movie" is one of those, but I'm curious - what does iMovie do with my video when I use that option? I realize, for example, that "Export with Quicktime" allows me to select quite a few settings for the export, but that's not the case for iMovie, except for being able to select the exported movie resolution.
What other settings does iMovie assume?

Thanks, everyone! I apologize for being unintentionally vague. To take a step back, my source is video shot with a Canon HF200 in FXP mode which records in 1920x1080 resolution.
The root of my question is curiosity around what iMovie does to my video when I'm burning to DVD, and specifically, I noticed that there's a difference in the quality of the video when I do "Share to iDVD" versus "Export Movie" (then dragging the project into my iDVD template).
I had added some text titles to parts of my video and noticed the "Share to iDVD" caused the text to be more "jaggy". Using "Export Movie" appeared to create DVDs that didn't look jaggy, so naturally, I thought "Export Movie" was the better way to burn DVDs, which then started making me wonder what magic happens when that option is chosen.
Subsequent to my posting this question, I then ran into this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2214292&tstart=90 and learned that iMovie drops half the lines in a frame when exporting.
    - Is this what was happening when I use "Share to iDVD"? Was iMovie dropping half the lines which caused my video to look jaggy? Pictures of the videos below. In these pictures, the DVD was being played by a progressive scan DVD player on an LCD TV (if that makes a difference).
    http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i211/joelq/DSC_1679.jpg
    http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i211/joelq/DSC_1680.jpg
    - I got even more confused when I read that iMovie only does this when exporting to 960x540 or smaller. :-/ If that's the case, then is "Export Movie" exporting to a larger resolution which explains why the video quality seemed better, i.e., the video didn't appear jaggy?
    - And finally, when shooting 1920x1080 60i video, what's the best export process to get the best quality DVDs? Is this possible with iMovie 09 (or even HD)? Or do I need to upgrade to FCE? (Or should I just invest in the eBook :-)?)
    Thanks everyone!
