Perfmon breaking when CF9 is install on Windows Server Core 2008 R2

Hi,
Before I install Coldfusion on my Windows Server 2008 R2 Core I can connect into Performance Monitoring remotely and view all the performance counters. After installing CF9 I can connect into the perfmon remotely but when I list the performance object/counters the list is there but completely blank - as in I can scroll through a list that has no text in it.
If I try to pull perfmon information via WMI all the win32_PerfRawData and win32_PerfFormattedData classes are missing - including those not relating to IIS.
Is it a case that CF9 is not supported on Server Core? Anyone know any fixes for this? I have tried both Server Install and Multiserver install but my perfmon counts are broken by CF9 each time.
Everything else works and I can get my sites up and running just fine - it is just the performance counters that are being affected here and as they are important it means that I cannot use CF9 on Core edition as a result.

I need an install for Windows Server Enterprise 2008 32bit. I am taking over a contract and the previous techs did not setup the licensing site to download the software. When I go to the licensing site to setup the account and retrive our software
it is asking for a license number and authorization number. I called microsoft and they are asking for the same. I called the vendor we purchased the software and licensing and they cannot track down the transaction. What I have is the product

that's not possible i have a lot of Important data in all non-system partitions
i am using Oracle VM VirtualBox "and i free a lot of Space to Test the Iso File"
and i install Windows 8.1 in the VirtualBox
but i see when i try to install Windows 8.1 in the real machine the partition is

and when i install Windows 8.1 in VirtualBox the partition is
"Unallocated"
it install but it create a
320MB partition "system"

Assuming your rig can support virtual machines, you can use Hyper-V and run another OS there.
Better practice however is to use a dedicated machine and use remote desktop to the server.

How to monitor MySQL Server installed in Windows Server using Nagios

The NSClient is a communications system that allows nagios to send commands to a target system over the nsclient protocol and they are executed on the remote system. I installed Nagios Core in my Ubuntu workstation 10.04 for me to learn something new in my craft. I use this now to monitor our Windows Server 2008 with MySQL server installed as well as our Datalink Switch (DGS-1210-24). I searched on google on how to monitor a MYSQL server installed in Windows server using Nagios Core but i could not seem to find any. Could anybody who's expert in Nagios give me steps on how to do so. Thanks. All i found in google were steps in monitoring mysql installed in linux and nothing in windows server.

Pretty much all newer versions of UC applications have started supporting virtualization so they can be installed on the VMware.
Have a look at dockwiki for virtualization supported apps:

Some applications like CUCM version 4 were windows based previously but going ahead with version 5, 6 onwards the OS has been changed to Linux Operating system.

VC Redist 2013 cannot be installed on Windows Server 2008 Core

Both vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe have this problem. And it can be reproduced 100%.
But all of them can be installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 Core, Windows Server 2012 Core, and Windows Server 2012 R2 Core.
From the log, it seems the installer depends some UI DLLs that are not included in this OS.

I don't think this is a bug. From your description, you want to install VC redist on some servers core for Windows Server 2008, 2012. Based on my knowledge, server core has no graphical user interface (GUI), there is no desktop. Only code written using Windows
application programming interfaces (APIs) can run on Server Core.

Hyper-V on Windows Server Core

Hi, Im new to the Windows Server 2012 Core edition. But I have found out that I can install Hyper-v on a Windows Server Core edition.
I guess its possible to run Core edition with Hyper-V installed on a laptop. But can I run the VM´s with GUI directly on the Core edition or do I need another computer to manage the VM´s with GUI installed on the hyper-v host?

It's recommended to remove the GUI from your Windows 2012 R2 server that you intend to use as a Hyper-V host. It should have the Hyper-V and related roles only such as iSCSI initiator and MPIO. Management should be done from a Windows 8.1 VM with RSAT
tools installed. This can be a VM on the same Hyper-V host or another one, or a physical machine. The Hyper-V hosts and Windows 8.1 machine should belong to the same Windows domain.
The GUI can be added and removed as any other role on Windows 2012 R2 server.

Perfmon Counters breaking when CF9 installed on Windows 2008 R2 Full

Hi,
It seems that installing CF9 on Windows Server 2008 R2 breaks the perfmon counters on the server. I had originally tried this on core edition which broke the counters but it was pointed out here that core edition is not specifically listed as being supported. I have now tried it on the full web edition and am having the same problem.
The problem is that after I install Coldfusion 9 and reboot, when I open perfmon on that server (or remotely) the list for the perfmon counters is completely blank. There is a scroll bar looks like there is a long list of perfmon objects/counters to choose from (in that I can drag it up and down) but the list is just empty/white and nothing can be clicked on i.e. no text or selections.
I have taken a snapshot and repeated this installation over and over again with or without components installed to the same result.
If I try to pull perfmon information via WMI (using this powershell script) I can see that all the win32_PerfRawData and win32_PerfFormattedData classes are missing - including those not relating to IIS. They were definitely there before installing CF9.
Here are my steps to reproduce:
I am installing on a VMWare virtual server.
1. Installing Windows Server 2008 R2 Web Full edition
2. Disable the firewall for all profiles
3. Set an ip address etc
4. Join Server to domain
5. Enable remote desktop
6. Install IIS with all options selected (except webdav)
7. Install CF9 64 bit
    --- Visual C++ is installed first then I restart
    --- Check perfmon and everything is showing fine
    --- I run the installer again and install with defaults (have tried with odbc connections etc on and off and using the built in webserver and IIS)
    --- Check perfmon and everything is still ok
    --- I reboot the server and check perfmon only to see the list empty as above
Anyone got any ideas?
Can anyone replicate this issue as it is driving me insane!?

Considering this issue doesn't seem to have been resolved I wonder why it was closed off. Will double check with the 9.01 update to see if it resolves the issue.
