Perfomance Monitoring on R/3

Hi All,
We have a System and SAP version is R/3 Enterprise and its on Oracle 9.2.0.7 and AIX 5.3. There are Perfomance issues with the System and its responding Slowly.
I have checked ST03 and Dialog response time is 1000, which is good as per our standard of Rating, i checked in ST04 and see that the Hit ratio for All the Buffers is 99% But there are lot of Swaps happening in the System. I checked SM50 and see that Almost all the Work processes are free. Is there anything in Specific which you look when ur trying to analyze the bottle Necks .
Regards,
Ershad Ahmed.

hi Ershad,
First you have to stop and start the database. swaps will be lost, othersise you have to increase your rolling and paging area memory size using rdisp/ parameters. in rz10, rz11.

  • Perfomance Monitor Console Extension (PMCE) on WebLogic 8.1 SP3

Is it possible to run PMCE on WebLogic 8.1 SP3?
I downloaded PMCE from bea and used the installer to install the administrative console extension and an agent on my own machine. I 'm also running a WebLogic server instance on this machine.
When I go to the server's administrative console it has a new section for the performance monitor, but clicking on anything in that section doesn't work.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Some performance counter objects are not available for a 32-bit process on 64-bit versions of Windows Server 2012 standard

When we try to gather performance counter information for a 32-bit process on a 64-bit computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2012, all our performance counter objects are not available with 32 bit perfmon application (C:\Windows\SysWOW64\perfmon.exe)
I didn't notified any errors while registering our counter objects or while running Perfmon.exe
Note: Same counter objects are available and working fine with Windows Server 2008 R2.
for diagnostic our counters on WIN2012, ran command as follows:
     cd c:\windows\sysWOW64
     lodctr /Q
I am able to see all our counter objects on response and infact all were shown as enabled, as shown below
Appreciate quiclk response with solution or clues to diagnose it more details.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sudhakar Rudra

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
I hope you understood our problem.
same our system counter objects (ver x), we able to browse from Perfmon 32 bit app on Windows 7, Windows 2008 R2 (64bit) OS but not on Windows 2012.
I am able to see all counter objects registered as follows (same at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\HMI Alarm Class\Performance,
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\HMI Alarm Class\Performance
    and
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HMI Alarm Class\Performance)
Only difference I observed that "Disable Performance Counters" were set to 4 in Windows 2012 OS unlike other windows 7 64bit OS and there is no differnece for remaining all entires.
I tried setting that "Disable Performance Counters" value to "0", but some how they get reset to "4", no luck..
I think "Disable Performance Counters" value either "0", or "4", should not matter for browsing our counters with 32bit bit perfmon applicaiton.
Do you see any issues of registry entries. ?
On what basis perfomance monitor list few enabled counters?
How can we add our counters manually to perfomance monitor?

  • Traffic in SXMS_XI_AUDIT_DISPLAY doesn't match traffic in RWB Perf Mon

I have got a traffic log in RWB:
    Time Interval: last month
    Agregation Interval: one month
    Other options initial.
So the traffic is Size*Number. But that value doesn't match  result of SXMS_XI_AUDIT_DISPLAY  report in XI ABAP...
What the cause of this problem? maybe I must patch some components?

I found the couse of unmatch - perfomance monitoring log stores only for two weeks, so "month agregation" realy shows only a half of month traffic.
So there's a question: is it possible to change logging period?

  • Access logs

    Hi,
I have few customized java applications like forums, blogs, phonebook deployed on my SAP EP 2004s SP 20 server. I want to monitor how many hits each application is geting.
The application are directed from the index.html and not within irj/portal. Do we have any such functionality in SAP Application server.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi ,
There is concept ADC in portal. the below link help you to configure

There is another option in NWA-> perfomance-> monitoring
There you can find the list of WDA java component which you have create.

  • Sound Problem ACPI C2 st

    Hi to all?Playing mp3s on XP SP2 system by Winamp5 causes sound?stuttering ( lenght max 500ms ) about 3 times a minute. • XML retrieval query

    Hi folks,
I'm still developing my system monitoring application using
spry, but have noticed a curious issues when monitoring the
    xmlhttprequest's through firebug.
The first time the dynamic xml files are called, one
httprequest is run for each ds entry, however, on the second and
later calls, it seems to generate 2 or 3 httprequests per ds entry.
I've included the code below in case i've missed something

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I'm using spry 1.5
    pre-release.

Ok, I think I've tracked this down. It's the loadInterval
that's causing the issue. If I set all three datasets to refresh at
the same time, I get the symptoms as above. However, if I stagger
    the loadIntervals (eg, ds1 - 5000, ds2 - 7000,ds3 - 9000) no
    repeated xml requests are seen.
Is this a limitation of the xmlhttp request, not being able
to process several requests at the same time?
    Regards
    James
    EDIT
I've confirmed this now with several other pages. Is there a
bug in the code somewhere that multiplies the requests??

  • Recovering from a "not responding" status which is in fact slightly responsive

Hi guys, my situation is as follows:
    1. I have some important work which is unsaved in firefox
    2. Have about 8windows x 5-20 tabs open, so about a 100 in total. Was okay all along with about 71% cpu usage & 1.2g ram usage for firefox.exe
    3. I was pressing back button if I remembered clearly (happened a day ago), then it suddenly became unresponsive. (So the website is a site which I have visited before, shouldn't be a problem unless it updated)
    4. Tried to mess around abit but nothing worked, till I switched windows using alt tab & saw the unresponsive script notice. Pressed stop script immediately, but due to the unresponsiveness, the pop up is only gone after few mins.
    5. I used task manager to change firefox priority to high & waited for one day but no luck.
    6. The thing which give me hope is that it didn't become totally unresponsive. Cursor not spinning when placed on firefox. Windows don't blur out. Though it reacts extremely slow. Switching between the firefox windows can take up to10 to 15 mins to load the graphics. Normal Mouse Cursor change to the text cursor if left on address bar for 3 to 5 mins.
I did not shut down the laptop for more than 3 weeks before this happened.
Is there anyway to get out of this state so that I can save my work before closing firefox?

Btw, it also happened once when I was using perfomance monitor to stop all unused services. Right after I stop mcafee site advisor, I looked up & the red"not responding" went away, but came back before I can utilise that period to switch to the right ff window & save my work

  • Premiere CS5 - Project Monitor playback is jerky after resintall of operating system and CS5

PROBLEM: Premiere CS5 - Project Monitor playback is jerky
This had NOT been an issue prior to reinstalling the operating system and all software.  I have read numerous articles on the forums and have tried everything I can find...with no results.
STEPS TAKEN TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM:
I have scoured the articles here http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/search/index.cfm?loc=en_us&term=choppy%20video&cat=support&pr oduct=premierepro and others at Cretive Cow
I have installed all updates for CS5 Master Collection, immediately following a fresh install of the operating system and SC5 Master Collection.
I have ensured that sequence settings match resolution and frame rates of footage - the problem persists.
I have tested by importing both standard def AVI files created from tape and high def SONY MP4 files - the problem persists.
I have ensured the latest Video drivers are installed (clean installation selected, so that the Windows default would be removed) - the problem persists.
I have tried the 3D settings in NVIDIA control panel | Program Settings tab... selected Adobe Premiere Pro from the drop down menu | and chaged 'Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration from the value of 'Multiple Display performance' to the value of 'single display performance'; although, I ran two monitors before using this latest NVIDIA video driver and I didn't experience this jerky footage issue - the problem persisted after affecting that change; so, I switched it back.
Since I have 96 GB of RAM, I don't use a pagefile.  A zero MB page file is the same setting I had prior to rebuilding the C:  Regardless of whether I have a pagefile or not, the problem persists.
I have tried creating a fresh user profile, where the user profile is created on the C: drive by default; and, where I left it there on C: to test for the jerky playback in a new PrPR project  - the problem persists.
Regarding the C: (system drive) and why I reinstalled everything, it had become unstable and was locking up.  I ran DISK ERROR CHECKING with the FIX parameter and the system was still locking up on me.  Keep in mind that the System drive is a solid state drive.  Anyhow, I had no choice but to dive in and reinstall everything.  I wiped the system partition of the SSD using quick format and started installing the operating system.  Now, I've read the CLAIM that this cuases performance issues; but, the only place I see issues is in the video monitor playback in PrPr.  Everything else - Office applications...printing...browsing the Internet...works just fine, everything is responsive, whereas, I couldn't do ANYTHING with it before.

    I'VE RESOLVED THE PROBLEM!
    PREFACE:
OK, I am hoping that through this week-long Operating-System-and-Software-reinatalltion excerise of mine, I have revealed something that everyone -- whom have been cursing Adobe over -- can apply to their systems to resolve this jerky video problem within PremierePro CS5 (and quite possibly other versions, too).
If you've read my post above, you've seen all the steps I've taken to resolve the problem.  I've read many posts, some of which have mentioned  hardware upgrade / opitmization steps that one may take to enhance performance, and hopefully resolve the problem.  I've read where people have taken these steps and have still experienced the problem...and then they curse Adobe.  Fer-shame, fer-shame, fer-shame! (nod to Gomer Pyle).
In my case, I knew it wasn't an Adobe issue, as it had worked flawlessly before; and, it wouldn't require a hardware upgrade or reconfigureation, as my system is completely maxed out with two processors, a system drive and a hardware RAID5 array, a CUDA-suported nVIDIA 4800 FX card, and 96 GB of RAM.  bla bla bla, puke...whatever.  Bottom line is this:
It's not a software issue.  It's not and Adobe issue; and Gawd no!  It's NOT a PC vs. Mac issue!  HA HA.  The software had worked swimmingly well prior to the reinstallation / 'lobotomy' I perfomed on the system drive.
    SOLUTION FOR ME:
Download and install the updated drivers for the motherboard.  Mine is an Intel Workstation Board S5520SC.  Intel has an INTEL DRIVER UPDATE UTILITY which automatically scaned my Intel system and identified drivers which needed updating.  A very handy, time-saving tool!!!  Here's the URL: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?iid=dc_iduu
The scan revealed two Intel drivers needing an update:
    Intel Chipset
    Wired Networking
    and one non-intel driver:
    Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-fi
I downloaded and installed these three drivers, rebooted, and tested PremierePro, and was extatic to find this resolved the problem.
If you have a motherboard from another manufacturer, then you may want to navigate over to their wibsite to locate chipset and other updated drivers for your motherboard.
    ROOT CAUSE:
While Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate was able to install certain default drivers during the Operating System installation (keeping in mind that this was done on an Intel Solid State Drive that I formatted using Quick Format) these default chipset drivers apparently weren't current and were ultimately the root cuase of the jerky video playback within PremierePro CS5.
    Peace

  • Flimmern 2. Monitor Matrox RT X2

Beim Einsatz des 2. Monitor über den DVI Ausgang der Matrox RT X2 Karte,
    flimmert der Monitor im Stand.
    de Hoins

If I ditch my current RT X2, will I be able to use three monitors which I had gotten used to? Is Matrox not going to provide the CS5 drivers for their product which I still see being sold on the internet for nothing less than the original price?
In addition to that my HP XW6600 has only room for another xeon quad core to give me a maximum of 8 cores as compared to the 16 cores I saw in the demonstration. RAM is 22gb. So with this current setup will I be able to get the perfomance of the mercury playback engine or I will have to ditch my GPU FX4600 for the FX4800?
Please help with the pros and cons for this rather than just advising me to simply sell it.

  • I want to run dual DVI monitors with my 8800GT wth a 26" and 22" LCD's

Today, my 26" LCD arrives. My 24" goes upstairs and the 22" LCD comes downstairs to my office. I want the 26" to be my main monitor and the 22" to be my web browsing monitor for when I'm editing photos or playing games on the 26" Things like managing my windows media player via the 22" would be nice. Nvidia has support for dual monitors in thier latest video drivers. My question is wheather I lose video processng power by running two monitors. I have have Vista 64 bit and 8GB of ram to support my system. Some suggest getting a second video card, but the 8800gt is already powerful enough for me.
What do I do and what will be the best setup for my system

Try it and see what the results are. You are going to get a perfomance hit as the VGA is now doing double duty--not sure how much--testing will tell you.  What kind of budget do you have?

  • Infrastructure Navigator 1.2 monitoring and alerting

I was under the impression that Infrastructure Navigator did monitoring and alerting of services and applications where if something stopped working or had issues it can notify you via something like email or SMS etc. From what I have seen it appears that it only shows you what services are running on a VM and the dependencies it has with other servers. Is that the case or am I missing something?

    Take a look at http://www.vmware.com/products/datacenter-virtualization/vcenter-infrastructure-navigator/overview.html:
vCenter Infrastructure Navigator automatically discover application services, visualize relationships  and map dependencies of applications on virtualized compute, storage and  network resources. A component of the        vCenter Operations Management Suite,  vCenter Infrastructure Navigator enables application-aware management  of infrastructure and operations to better understand the impact of  change, provide more complete disaster recovery protection and minimize  downtime.
Automatically discover and keep up-to-date the names and version numbers of application components and services
Visualize application relationships, communication paths and  backend connections at the infrastructure, guest OS and application  level
Map dependencies of application components on the underlying  virtual infrastructure to understand the impact of change and build  disaster recovery plans with confidence
The use case you describe is more relevant to vFabric APM - VMware's perfomance management suit which among other capabilities, will alert and notify in case of application performance issues, unavailable services etc. take a look at http://www.vmware.com/products/application-platform/vfabric-application-performance-manager/overview.html

  • Best way to set up a second monitor with a Touchsmart

What's the best way to set up a second monitor for the Touchsmart IQ506?  Is a USB to VGA cable the only way and how well does that work (I've read that they can be buggy)?
Are they any recommendations for products and setting it up?

Leopard wont be out befor the second half of this year, sofar i cannot tell you what options you are going to have with the new system. Seems like with time machine is going to be a perfect backup for your whole system.
    10.4.x:
Software RAID you can do 0 -1:
To setup a RAID of your system you have to format the drive and setup the RAID type you want from the disk utility.
To have some security i suggest the "mirror" options but you are going to lose some perfomance, depending you want is your main job it mighn't be noticed.
    RAID 5:
This would be the nicest option but you need to buy an additional RAID controller. This is mostly used on servers and not on client computers.

  • Enabling Windows Performance Monitor in CF8

    Platform: Windows 2003 SP2, CF8 Standard (upgraded from CF7)
I can't seem to get the Windows Performance Monitor Counters
for CF8 to work in my newly upgraded installation.
    1) In CF Administrator > Debug Output Settings I tick the
"Enable Peformance Monitoring" option and click Submit Changes.
Message: "Server updated" appears and the box remains ticked.
However If I refresh the page or navigate to another and return,
    the tick is lost.
    2) Restart CF Service
    3) Open Perfmon and click Add Counters
    4) ColdFusion 8 Perfomance Object and Counters are all listed
correctly, BUT there are "no instances" in the box on the right and
therefore the "Add" button is disabled, so I can't add any
    counters.
    5) Checking in CFAdmin again, the "Enable PM" tick is still
    lost.
It all worked in CF7, however that was on W2K3 SP1.
SP2 is a new factor, could that be the cause?
    Thanks.
