Performa need a monitor!

I have a Performa 6400 AV that has taken a lick'n and keeps on tick'n. I want to get a flat screen monitor for this faithful little guy. Is that possible? Any suggestions on what monitor will work and where I can find it. I've search the web but can't find the right thing or site. Thanks for any help.

The 6400 puts out a VGA-compatible signal, but uses a Mac connector. You need an adapter to convert from the 15-pin (two row) Mac connector to the 15-pin (three row) VGA connector. This adapter must also produce a code that is read by the Mac at Startup. If it does not provide a code, you get no picture.
Then shop for a flat screen display with a VGA connector. It should be able to support the older 4:3 aspect ratio. If it can only do 16:9 aspect ration (today's popular HDTV shape) the 6400 will not be able to make a picture that can be displayed on it.
Resolution Video Memory --1MB DRAM (built in)
640 x 480 16-bit
800 x 600 16-bit
832 x 624 8-bit
1024 x 768 8-bit
1152 x 870 n/a-bit
1280 x 1024 n/a-bit
You could add a PCI-slot display card, and that may give you additional options.

  • Suggestions welcome...what all reports needed to monitor DB performance

    Hi All,
Could you all please let me know what reports would you need to monitor a database. I am writing something that one could use to monitor database. not like statspack which would take snaps at regular intervals but a GUI where in you would click on a particular button a get the report at that instance. some reports like indexes that need rebuild. queries taking lot of time...users, their roles, undo stats, cache hits..
So do let me know what all reports u can think of and i will try and put them together.. doing it for my dissertation work.. so please please help with your valuable inputs..
    regards,
    Kailas

A good stuff is a program that shows when a event in v$system_event is out of range of normal condition operation(so you have to use some statistics functions, and store a continuos baseline), and what session is doing this injury.

    Hi,
We may use script to check file sizes and use the script to create a monitor.

  • Video Card Addition (need 3 monitors)

I am currently using a 2 X 2.8GHz Quad-Core Mac Pro with the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT card and I am needing 3 monitors on this machine. (2 monitors is cutting it) What is the best upgrade to do this? Am I better off purchasing another 8800 card or would something like the ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro card do the job?

Windows may have problems if you have both ATA and NVIDIA boards.

  • Performance analysis and monitoring of a Forteapplication

    Hello,
It would be good if one could do some performance analysis and monitoring of
a Forte application at production time.
By performance analysis I mean measure the time some selected methods take
to return. In a CS application such a method would be some selected method
of a key remote service representative of the application's activity.
One would like to mesure the min, max, average time, and also give a
threshhold which when reached will automatically generate an alarm or some
    pre-defined processing.
The most powerful way would be to use a SNMP application through a Forte -
SNMP gateway. (see the G. Puterbaugh paper "Building a Forte-SNMP gateway"
in the 96' Forte Forum proceedings).
But before going that far some simple means accessible through EConsole
    would already be great.
A collegue of mine when to that Forum and reported that Puterbaugh said that
such an agent is currently missing, but that its implementation is not
    difficult.
I looked at all the agents and their instruments. I came to the following
    conclusions :
    1) instrumented data are available at the granularity level of a partition,
not at a smaller granularity. For example, the DistObjectMgr agent gives you
very useful information : the number of events (sent/received) and the
number of (remote) methods (called/invoked), but this for the entire
partition. Thus it prevents making tuned observations (unless you partition
in a special way your application to put in a dedicated partition the thing
you want to observe and only this thing).
    2) there is no instrumented data related to processing time.
This leads me to the point that no information observed by the standard
agents help me figuring out my performances. Thus I have to add at
development time some lines of code to the methods I potentially want to
observe later at production time to generate the appropriate information a
custom agent will then display (process) with the appropriate instruments.
Does someone share this position ?
Has someone implemented such an agent and assotiated means ?
PS: I will probably implement my own one if no other way around.

  • PowerMac 8600 Needs New Monitor

I have an 8600 that needs a monitor. Exactly what type of adapter do I need to hookup a monitor (crt) to it?
    Thanks

    The signals involved:
    Red intensity and its ground
    Green intensity and its ground
    Blue intensity and its ground
Horizontal Sync -- indicates start and end of one row of dots across the screen
Vertical Sync -- Indicates start and end of one screenful of rows of dots
... can only be transposed from the typical
"VGA-style" three-row 15 pin Male (with pins) connector on the cable-end to the
Apple "two-row" 15 pin Female (with holes) connector on the Mac Display Card
... in one way that will work.
The poorly-documented "feature" that will trip you up is that the Macs of that era expect a code on pins 4, 7, and 10 that tells the Mac what kind of display is attached. If no signals are asserted, grounded, or cross-connected with wires or diodes on those pins, the default of "No display attached" gives no picture.
You need an adapter specific to the broad class of displays you intend to connect. There are over 17 different legitimate codes for Mac displays, but frankly, most of them are for obsolete displays. The most common still used are for VGA Display (640 by 480 and Super VGA 640 by 800) and Multiple-Sync display (640 by 480 and 832 by 624 and 1024 by 768 and possibly 1152 by 870) switchable on the fly. And it needs to be specific to older Macs and have the pins and holes on the correct sides. There are other adapters for a different problem that have the pins and holes reversed.

Because the XP597A3 (actually any of these product numbers; XP597AA, XP597A3, XP597AS) is a HP 2011x 20" LCD/LED widescreen monitor. The OP was looking for an A/C adapter power supply for the HP 2711x 27" LCD/LED widescreen monitor, which is product # XP600AA or XP600A3. The adapter power supply I linked to, is the correct part for the 2711x monitor.... that is why not those other parts.

Need to monitor event ID with Event Level :Critical , Also how to generate (powershell or otherwise) an event with Event Level :Critical

    Hi
First, we Need to clarify what do you want.
    1) You want to Monitor a Windows Event with the severity "Error" (there is no Critical for Windows Events, only Error").
    2) You want to create an Event in SCOM. I think you if you talk about "Event" in SCOM you mean actually an Alert.
There is no direct way like a tool/powershell script  of only creating an Alert in SCOM only if you are going to use the SCOM SDK
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh329086.aspx or using the Orchestrator Create Alert activity.
If you want to create a SCOM alert depending on a Windows Event you either can create a rule
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff730470.aspx or a Monitor

  • Performance issue entering monitor etc

    Dear Sirs,
Our system currently feels quite slow. When entering the monitor for a load, or managing a cube the system it takes a while.
In SM50 I can see it reads at table  (sequential) på RSMONIPTAB (which contains 1 millions records).
SAP help.sap.com describes a process u201CArchivation of Request Administration Datau201D, which might help? Look below. However, I do not like the paragraph marked in bold. What kind of features do they reference to.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/42/ead8d7b55e1bd2e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm
Archiving request administration data allows you to store the administration and log information for a request in an archive. In BI, tables store the totals records that the system requires so that the request is not set to red because information is missing. This function allows you to limit the size of the administration and log tables, RSDONE und RSMON. This improves performance for actions performed for the request and in the affected InfoProviders and saves memory space in the database without affecting the status set by the system.
For certain functions and processes that access requests, you have to reload request administration data to the BI administration and log tables.
Any hints on the issue in general; performance issue with monitor, please let me know.
    Best regards,
    Jørgen

Guess note below describes gives more info about situation. However, not with a clear solution :=)
SAP Note 694895 - Performance and tables RSMON, RSDONE
Note Language: English Version: 5 Validity: Valid Since 29.11.2005
    Summary
    Symptom
Tables RSMON* (for example, table RSMONMESS) and tables RS*DONE (for
example, table RSSELDONE) continuously increase in size in the BW system
with each request that is created.
Currently there is no option to reduce these tables.
Do not delete any entries from these tables. If you did, this would have
    the following consequences:
When you carry out the next check for the requests for which you have
deleted records from these tables, the check will not run properly.
The status of the relevant requests turns RED in the monitor, and also in
all affected data targets that contain the request.
The affected request and all subsequent requests are no longer visible in
the reporting - all queries on the affected data targets then only display
    old data.
Numerous dumps will occur in various situations.
You will not be able to repair the errors caused by the deletion.
    More Terms
    RSMONMESS; RSSELDONE; Performance; RSMON; RSDONE;
    Cause and Prerequisites
This is caused by a program error.
    Solution
In the next BW release (BI in SAP NetWeaver 2004s - that is BW 7.0), you
will be able to archive entries from the RSMON* and RS*DONE tables using a
request archiving process that archives the administrative information for
    requests.
After archiving, these tables are then considerably reduced in size.
Until then, there is unfortunately no option for reducing the tables.

  • Need to monitor 7201 router without package for Ciscoworks

    Hello,
I'm a few months away from upgrading our Ciscoworks platform from LMS 2.6 to 3.1. However, I need to monitor a 7201 router and will not be able to to install the package for that system. I 'm getting snmp traps and get request, but the system is shown as unkown because I don't have the package installed. My support has run out until I get the 3.1 LMS software approved for purchase. Until then is it possible to monitor the 7201 router, I am receiving snmp message but Ciscowork doesn't seem to relate them correctly without the package being installed. I want to monitor the system for reachablity and sent a e-mail message out if it fails that test.

Perhaps something like eWatch would work for you. Leopard will also offer some tracking and monitoring abilities as part of the upgraded Parental Controls.

how many  platforms we need to monitor in FUSEHQ

    Hi,
    2 way -
2way merge is used when both the repositories are completely different from each other, like sample sales and usage tracking.
Current repository is the one that we merging changes into it
    Original repository is Dummy(empty) repository
Modified repository is Usage tracking repository (or) repository that you want to merge.
So here we use three repositories in which one repository is empty.
    3 way -
3way merge is used when both the repositories are identical in many ways but with some differences, like BI Apps 7.9.5 and modified 7.9.3 (or) merging developement repository with production repository.
Current repository is Original BI Apps 7.9.5 repository
Original repository is Original BI Apps 7.9.3 repository
Modified repository is Modified 7.9.3 repository
    Here we use three repositories.

My Xp/Oracle 61 forms are causing the application to "stall" when many images are displayed. I need a tool that tells me what threshold is hit- to at least point me in the right direction. You should change the format used for the snap_id column in the report. Open the source and change that - add some extra 999.
The same behaviour you can get on all large numbers which should be displayed in the report.
    Here is a simple test:
    SQL> column dummy format 999
    SQL> select 99999 as dummy from dual;
