Performance based maintenance plan

I am trying to schedule my performance based plan under two conditions:-
In the first factor,I have kept my initial counter reading as 0 as on today,my cycle as 2000 hrs, estimated as 2500 hrs.
An my plan date is calculated as  24.10.12.
In the second factor,I have kept my counter reading as 0 as on today,my cycle as 2000 hrs, estimated as 2500 hrs.
An my plan date is calculated as  24.10.12.
Why the planned date is coming as 24.10.12 in both the cases. It should be different.

Hi,
I believe you have created counter today and starting value may be 0 or directly 500KM .. in this case last counter reading for both the values will be same date ..so better post 550KM tommorow and then try this way and check :
First condition :- Start counter reading with 0KM
Secondition :- Start counter reading with 550KM ..
Doing the above should give you different dates ..
In your case  you have posted both OKM & 500KM on same day you will not find any difference in calculation of dates ..
Note :- System takes the last counter reading date as the start date for calculation ..in case of Counter based plans ..

  • Settings for performance based maintenance plan

    Hi experts,
Incase of hour or Km dependent performance base plan, how we can fix the reading (In hours or Km) limit or period of order generation? what is the impact of annual estimate? Please give me an example with all readings.
    Regards,

When you create a plan with a counter (Associate a measurement point of counter type to the same), then you would be able to specify at what intervals (Counter readings for this measurement point), the call object associated to the Maintenance plan should be generated.
The actual call date for this maintenance plan however depends on the "Annual estimate " for the measurement point counter and also the actual counter readings captured for the measurement point
For ex: Annual estimate maintained for the Point : 12,000 Miles .Maintenance for this equipment should be triggered for every 1000 Miles (This should be the counter interval maintained for the Maintenance plan). Based on the above the maintenance plan would generated a call every one month (Annual estimate / period). As an example,  when this Maintenance plan is scheduled for 1 yr, then 12 maintenance calls will be generated one each for every month. The actual and scheduled dates for the call depends on the various other scheduling parameters maintained for the Plan.
Its critical for any counter based maintenance plan that the counter reading is Captured , Through measurement documents regularly, EVEN IF THERE IS NO CHANGE TO THE COUNTER READING, Otherwise, the system generates call objects (for example, maintenance orders) based on the estimated annual performance entered for the counter, even though the counter reading has not in reality been reached.
for ex: owing to a vehicle breakdown/ repair if the vehicle has been in repair shop for a month,To avoid a maintenance order being created before it is needed, you maintain the new total counter reading in the system regularly over the period of the month. You then reschedule the maintenance plan using IP30, and the call date is recalculated based on the updated counter reading. In this case, the call date would be later.

  • Performance based maintenance Plan and regular reading

SAP says that for performance based plan it is imporatnt to enter the current reading REGULARY, even if it has not changed. otherwise, the system genrates call objects based on estimated annual performance entered for the counter, even though the counter reading has not in reality been reached.
My question is what does REGULAR means? does it means weekly reading? or daily as suggested in post http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2016488&tstart=0
My concern is daily zero value reading, isn't this an over kill and too much unneccessary data.
    I will appreciate your views.
    Regards

    Thanks fopr your reply.
I didnt quite get that though.
are you saying I dont need to load regular zero values if vehicle is not doing any KM, as long as annual estimated value is realistic?
What should be the annual estimated value of the counter for the following plan?
    1- 3MON OR 10,000 KM
    2- 6MON OR 20,000 KM
    3- 30MON OR 60,000 KM
I would think its 40,000 Km per year. But if i do that and if my vehicle doesn't do any KM and stay parked for longer period then maintennace plan calls the the KM based package instead of Mon based. hence bringing the call object sooner then it was suppose to.
My original question was how REGULAR reading is acceptable for performance based plans e.g. weekly, monthly etc?

  • Performance based maintenance

I have made performance based maintenance plan , in this plan i have assin counter with annual estimate 100 nos and my Maintenance plan cycle lenth 10000 nos .  ( annual estimate i kept 100 nos because  i need  maintenance order counter baase only ) so system schedule the plan ,with call plan date 4 jan 2110 .now when  i update the maintenance document ,counter reach 100001 system generate the maintenance call with plan date 4 jan 2110 not on order generate date.
but we required the plan  date on which maintenance order generate  so what can i do in the master data so i can get same date on which maintenance order generate.
    Pl help
    Raghav

There are 3 things in Maintenance Plan.
    Maintenance Plan - Call Date
    Maintenance Plan - Plan Date
    Maintenance Plan - Call Horizon
Call Date is date on which Maintenance Order gets created.
Plan Date is basic start date of Maintenance Order (when maintenance should start)
Call horizon specifies as a percentage when a maintenance order should be created
In your case i would suggest you to maintain call horizon as 100% that means your order created date and maintenance date (basic start date of maintenance order) are same.

  • Counter based maintenance plan triggered improperly

    Hi,
we have created one counter based maintenance plan with cycle unit 1000 hours  offset unit 0 hours this plan was created on 21.04.2008 . But 68 orders triggered on 19.04.2011 why it was happend.
how find start of cycle reading  for the Maintenance plan?
    Regards
    Ganesh

    Hi,
Counter based plan will work based on the Measuring point assigned to that.
In Measuring Point, you would have defined the Annual Estimate. Based on the Annual Estimate & Cycle value in Plan & Scheduling period in the plan, based on all these, call object would be generated.

  • Condition Based Maintenance Plans

    Dear All,
My client has the requirement of condition based maintenance plans without interfacing etc. An example is described below:
Compressor bearing has temperature limits of 70 deg C and 90 deg C. If measurement document reading is recorded outside the range specified here a maintenance call / maintenance order should be triggered.
Please give an example or process for the above dsicussed condition based maintenance plan upto two or three calls.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi,
As such there is no functionality directly. You can use the following user exits and can develop your on logic to trigger notification in case measured values are out of tolerance values.
IMRC0003 Menu exit - measurement document
As I remember there is sample code available for ythe same. You can check through SMOD transaction.

  • Condition based maintenance plan

    Dear Experts,
Can anybody clarify me about the condition based maintenance plan?
How the plan is created and measuring points and measuring documents are controlled?
    My requirement is as follow:
I have one equipment, for that equipment I have created a measuring point (Temp) with counter. And the engineer enters the measuring document for that equipment.
Here when the measuring reading reaches certain level, say Temp reaches more that 80 Degree C, i.e., a measuring document is entered for the measuring point with a reading of 82 Degree C, system should generate a maintenance order for that equipment?
How the above scenario is addressed in SAP?
    Please help me out.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards.

    Hi all,
    Thanks for your replies.
    PS: Ramesh,
The operator maintains the log sheet of the equipments out side SAP, since he doesn't have the access to the SAP system. All the details are entered by Maintenance Engineer or Supervisor. The same log sheet details are entered by them in the system.
Will you please clarify me on thing:
*need to specify the min & max level in your measurement point at which u want to get call*
how can we specify the min & max levels in measuring point? Is it possible through customer exit only? Because I did not able to find those filed in the measuring point master data.

  • Strategy in task list and Strategy based Maintenance Plan

    Dear Gurus,
    I have some doubt about
is it same if we create a single cycle plan with a task list in which maintenance strategy let say A is being used and a maintenance plan strategy based let say A and task list without any strategy
can some one explain use of strategy in task list and maintenance plan
    Regards
    Armaan

    Hi,
In Strategy Based Plans :- When ur entering strategy in initial screen of IP42 then inside the plan system will allow u to select tasklists created with that strategy only ...
In Single Cycle Plans :-  Here even though if u select tasklist of a particular strategy , system copies all the operations of the tasklist to the order...
From your above example :- Single Cycle Plan if cycle is monthly is equal to strategy based plan having only 1Month package .
further package in strategy allows u to select which operations of tasklist u want for 1Month..

  • PRT- Maintenance Plan

    Hi Experts,
    Here is my Issue ,
We have Created Maintenance plan for PRT Equipment - for that Measuring point in counter over readg 500 pieces and Annual Estimate also 500 pieces .our Maintenance Package is every 200 cycle.BY confirming the production order exceeds the 200 pieces, the maintenance order also created by measuring document, in this juncture my doubt is , how to maintain the tool life and we wants the tool life is max of 500 pieces only , after exceeding the production order qty 500 pieces , the system will not allow to make production order confermation for that PRT Equipment, what is the settings for that,?
For Example a Planner m/c is Created by M- categary ( plant maintenance) , but the tool in which is used in planner m/c can be created  P- categary ( PRT) .       is it Right?
Tool -life only for 500 pieces , in that how to set for Mainetanacec package? instead of 200 pieces, can we assign 500 pieces?
ok If we set 500 in M.package  , mainetance plan will be created and say tool  is to be replaced, based on the plan we replace the tool and we instal new tool for the planner m/c. now can we create new PRT equipmnet- tool , for the planner m/c ? , For the new TOOL -PRT equipment , can we create new plan for that ? is it Right means what about old plan?
    With  Regards
    SM.Charles Edwin

    HI
    sam,
As per ur requirment My understadnding is wirtten here-
    1. First off, Creat all Tools as PRT Equipment... because in this way only u can generate maintenance plan for them and can perform maintenance.
    2. For track of PRT Usage or Life u have to define a Measuring Point in PRT (Equipment). Whenever production order get confirm a measuring doucment will be posted...
in the Measuring point u can see last entered measurement reading that will reflect usage of PRT.
    3. U have to assign a Maintenance Plan in PRT ( Equipment)
When PRT Usage exeeds certain level..(after confirmation of production order) Maintenace call object would be generated and subsequent maintenance can be carried out.
    4. Besides all these we can not block usage of PRT in Production order.
    5. PRT Must be assigned in Routing ..other wise it won;t work.
    6. so prequesties for PRT Usage and Maintenance is
create Measuring point and a Performance Based Maintenance Plan. and assign it in PRT(Equipment).
    7. in this case don't create PRT as a Material.
If Still in Doubt please ask.
    Regards,
    Amit kushwaha

  • Counter in Maintenance Plan

    Dear All,
i´m not sure. Is it advisable to use a own counter for each maintenance plan and is it better to create a own performance-based maint. plan for each equipment?
    Thanks for your help!
    Andreas

Actually, it depends on your requirement. A counter is created for an equipment and when you create a maintenance plan with performance based units in the cycle, the counter is automatically proposed from the equipment master data based on the unit mentioned in the cycle or performance based strategy.
You can create a single maintenance plan for multiple equipments using multiple maintenance items but for this, you need to ensure that all of the performance based units are the same for all equipments and the cycle length/strategy cycles is the same for all such equipments.

  • Plant Maintenance - Linkage between Task List and Maintenance Plan

    Sir,
In Plant Maintenance, I have an equipment for which there are 9 maintenance activities that have to be performed every year. Out of these 4 activities will be carried out every month. 1 activity will be carried out during the months of February, June and October. 5 activities will be carried out only in the month of December.
I need to create Task List for all these activities and subsequently create Maintenance Plans for all these Task Lists.
Can I group all the 4 activites which will be carried out every month into one single Task List, with separate operation nos and time against each activity?. I don't know whether it is correct or not.
If I use the above method I can create 3 Task Lists for this particular equipment with same Group no and 3 Group Counters.
How to create Maintenance Plan for the above scenario?.
Eventhough, 4 activites are carried out every month and they have been grouped into a single Task List (Group counter 1) and if these activites are carried out on different dates within a month how can I create Maintenance Plan and subsequently create a Maintenance Order?.
I need some help in this regard. A detailed reply will be helpful.
Can anyone throw some light in this regard.
    Regards,
    R. Vijayakumar

you need to create one task list with a maintenance strategy with packages and hierarchy to outline the work requirements i.e. some tasks to be carried out 3 monthly some 4 monthly etc, and also if common tasks appear in 3 monthly package vs 4 monthly package then to suppress the duplicating task
you would then define a strategy based maintenance plan and run it to get the respective maintenance orders

  • Performance Based Equipment Document for Projects

    Dear All,
We are implementing Performance based equipment process in ETM module. We want to create PBE document for projects where we want to enter the WBS against each line item in PBE document.
Currently we are able to create the recipient with reference type WBS where we assign WBS element and the same we are assigning in the PBE document to populate the WBS in PBE document. Here the issue is, we have to create the recipient for each WBS element to create the PBE document as WBS element will get populated for  the recipient. We are not able to enter the WBS element directly in the PBE document as it is in non editable mode in the screen.
Could any body suggest how to enter the WBS element directly in the PBE document without the reference of recipient as we have thousands of wbs elements and creating recipient for each wbs element is not feasible.
    Thanks and regards,
    Basavaraj

    Hi,
There are multiple questions in your query.
    1. You have to define a counter for finding the performance based maintenance
    2. Measurement document needs to be updated regulary by putting the counter reading.
    3. Call objects will happen based on Plan and scheduling Or deadline monitoring by considering the updated measurement reading.
    4. Running Deadline monitoring is based on frequency of the calls needed. may be daily or weekly or monthly (Example: Every week  maintenance  (Week time interval calls) for an equipment needs atleast weeky once deadline monitoring)
    Thanks
    Siva

  • Preventive Maintenance Planning - change call date of future calls

    Hello,
we are using time based maintenance plans to schedule our maintenance obligations towards customers. After creating the plan and scheduling (IP10) we get the scheduled calls proposed by the system.
Now we want to use IP10 or IP19 to move those planned call dates that are in the future without releasing the predecssor calls but it gives us an error: "Maintenance plan 16.04.2009: Predecessor to still on hold".
Does anyone know if there is a way around this?
    Thanks,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias
As per your query... you cannot move the call dates which are in the future. First you have to skip the cal which are before the future cal date. then only you can do...
