Performance Metrics for PI

We are running PI 7.0 on SP10 and we are having a few problems in XI. This was quite a straight forward scenario IDOC to XI to File. We have a 10 min collection BPM in between and all messages within that 10 min interval write into one file as a single message. When 1200 IDOCS were pumped in through the system, PI came to its knees. It could only process these in 2 (two) hours. In spite of the fact that we have 16 GB of memory, for some reason BASIS has configured only one JVM node. We changed the entire processing by writing into an output file in an append mode for 10 mins each and there was no perceptible difference in performance at all. We tried converting the IDOCs to xml files so that it became a file to file scenario to get some performance stats. Not much difference. Does anybody in the community have any benchmark metrics figures for different kind of systems and scenarios? These are all in SUN Solaris systems.
We have another interface coming up where we have to handle 10 million DB records from a source file, process them and load them to MDM database. Anybody has any figures on MDM and PI? Would greatly appreciate any help.

Hi,
there should be no difference in performance because both products share the very same kernel.
Of course, EE has features like partitioning which make a huge difference when they are used.
So the answer clearly depends...

  • No performance metrics for group with 2 OC4Js

I created a new group with 2 OC4J instances through the console. Then I created an additional web site (AJP protocol) for these 2 OC4Js to provide access from a HTTP server. Everything is working as expected.
But in the console, I do not get any performance metrics for these OC4Js. Everything is appearing as Unavailable. I do see performance metrics for my home OC4J instance where the console is running from.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

Interesting would also be how many changes are made to fields of roles before they become a * value in the end anyway...
I place my bets on S_PROGRAM and a close second being S_TABU_DIS on that score card.
    Cheers,

  • What will be the Upper Limits for Performance Metrics for Alerting

    Hi,
We are planning to monitor the Performance of Cloud Services hosted onto Azure through VisualStudioOnline [TFS].
What will be the Upper limits for below metrics per cloud service hosted on Azure:-
    CPU Percentage
    Disk Read Bytes/Sec
    Disk Write Bytes/Sec
    Network In [Bytes/Sec]
    Network Out [Bytes/Sec]
    Thanks for the help.
    Regards, Subhash Konduru

    Hi,
An alert rule enables you to monitor a Azure service based on a metric value. When the value of a specified metric violates the threshold assigned for a rule, the alert rule becomes active and registers an alert.
To create an Alert Rule, you might want to check the below article
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/dn306638.aspx
To know more on the limits please follow the link

    Hope this helps !

  • Performance Metrics for PB and L7Pro

Can anyone tell me what the performance difference would be in upgrading a 17" PB (1.67GHz) from 1GB Ram to 2GB? Is it worth the money? This laptop and upgrade is SOLELY for Logic support and music, so no other concerns are relevant.
    Thanks,
    JG

More CPU performance and sampler instruments, more tracks, faster handling. If you're hitting the ceiling often (which is easy on a 'book) it is worth the money, shouldn't be terribly expensive-but it depends on your vendor an what your current configuration is. If it works well for you now it may not be worth it.

Can anyone please comment on the subject. What are the performance metrics? In general offcourse.
    Sharjeel.

Performance metrics for Oracle E-Business Suite is used to gather information about application/database for the purpose of monitoring the performance (application server, forms sessions, database, CMs .. etc). Its one of the components of Oracle Applications Manager (OAM), OAM as well as Oracle Grid Control provide a complete and integrated solution for Oracle E-Business Suite system management.

  • New OC4J group - no performance metrics

I set up a new OC4J group in my app server (ver 10.1.3.1) with 2 OC4J instances. I am not getting any performance metrics for either OC4J instance. On the Performance page, it shows "Unavailable" for everything.
I am getting performance metrics for my default_group with the home OC4J instance.
Any ideas about what I need to configure to start collecting performance metrics for my new group OC4J instances?

  • Application Server (Pertinent Report values for performance metrics)

    Hi
With dmstool what are the most relevant values to collect. My objectives are to compare performance metrics on two environments. First one is on 9iAS (or 10 g AS), the second is a weblogic environment.
    Regards

when running the dmstool -dump i noticed that some requests where throwing errors "connection refused".
    I verified the server properties focusing on the dms port 7200;
I noticed that the listening adress and port was missing cfr httpd.conf
After adding this info metrics are displayed

  • Performance Tools for Weblogic

    Hello All!
I need help! I am trying to find out which of the tools is better
suited for me to be able to do performance testing of an application
    under load.
I am looking for a tool that can provide me detailed application
performance metrics. Seems like both Insight and Perform Assure can do
    this job for me.
If any of you have had experience with using performance tools such as
Prescise Insight or Sitraka's Perform Assure I would appreciate any
input you might have on your usage experience of these tools.
Also if you know of any other tools that might provide similar
information such as the above tools, that would be really helpful.
    Thanks a bunch!
    Neil.

    Cameron,
Thanks for your input! Sounds like you are probably using these
    products.
I saw the PerformAssure demo. Their GUI is very slick!! PerformAssure
does some cool stuff like comparing EJB metrics with system metrics
and were able to show me the EJB method that was causing a problem
    with a petstore application.
I heard about this new tool from a company called Performant
(http://www.performant.com). I am signed up for a demo with these
folks. Will let you all know what I find.
I looked at Wily site and didn't persue them as they seem to be
deployable in the production environment. Our application is not live
yet, but we want to be able to make sure it can handle good load ;)
    Thanks!

I think they both do a good job of what they do.

  • Capture performance metrics across multiple servers

Hello. I'm still very new to Powershell but anyone know of a good Powershell v.3 -4 script that can capture performance metrics across multiple servers with an emphasis on HPC (high performance computing) and gen up a helpful report, perhaps in HTML or Excel
    format?
Closest thing I've found and used is this line of powershell:
    http://www.microsoftpro.nl/2013/11/21/powershell-performance-monitor-on-multiple-remote-computers/
Maybe figure out a way to present that in better format, such as HTML or Excel.
Also, if someone can suggest some performance metrics to look at with an HPC perspective. For example, if a CPU is running at 100 utilization, figure out if which cores are running high, see how many threads are queued waiting for CPU time, etc...

As far as formatting is concerned,
ConvertTo-HTML is a basic HTML output format, but you can spice it up as much as you like:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff730936.aspx
Out-Grid is very functional and pretty simple:
    http://powertoe.wordpress.com/2011/09/19/out-gridview-now-has-a-passthru-parameter/
    Here's an example with Excel:
    Excel
    Worksheets Example
This might be a good reference for HPC, I don't have access to an HPC environment so I can't offer much advice there.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff950195.aspx
It might be better to keep unrelated questions separate, so a thread doesn't focus on one question and you lose time getting an answer to another.
I hope this post has helped!

    Hi All ,

    DB Version : 11.2.0.3
Today in one of the meeting we were asked if our system was capable to handle the growth in the next 6-8 Months.

I am looking for some points/ suggestions on which I can check and compare from the past and provide the answer to the question.

  • Missing performance metrics on OEM GC

We have agents and OMS on 10.2.0.3. We configured performanace metrics as template and template applied for the targets. one of the target RAC database with 2 nodes, an agent on each node uploaded performance metrics until Mar 08th and after that the perfomance metrics shows not data available. These are the metrics related to
    1. Database Services
    2. System Response Time Per Call
    3. Wait Bottlenecks
    4. Waits by Wait Class
Collection schedule shows every 15 minutes, upload interval shows Every collection, Last upload shows Mar 8, 2008 5:21:50 AM.
./emctl upload agent works fine no issues.
./emctl status agent shows XML's uploaded.
we did clearstate agent, stop and start agent etc.. no change
No pending files in the upload directory on the target agent, no pending files on the recv (recieving) directory of the agent.
What else should have been the problem? How to get these metrics to upload properly and make it working. appreciate any help.

What version of Oracle have you in the target RAC databases?
For Oracle 9i you must to execute a workaround for enable this metrics
