Performance Monitor Reports Missing in FDM

Hi All -
I'm trying to run "Performance Monitor Reports" in FDM and am getting the below error messages for both type of reports. Any help on this greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
Here's the message from the error log:
Invalid Report File: \\..\Apps\FDMLTD\Reports\PerformanceGraphAvgProcessTime.rpt
I logged into the app server and looked in the folder, and .rpt isn't there.
Same with the Min-Max report
Error: Invalid Report File: \\..\Apps\FDMLTD\Reports\PerformanceGraphMinMaxProcessTime.rpt

Can you please let me know the steps to import report xml? I logged into workbench client, clicked on "view->Reports" and tried to import. But I was not able to locate the required xml files for the Performance monitor reports.
I tried to find the steps in help guide as well, but couldn't find anything. Thanks!

  • Performance monitor reports and graphs don't show all the counters that were captured

I've run into an odd behavior of performance monitor that I haven't been able to clear up yet: after I run a data collector set, the resulting report only shows a partial list of the counters that I captured, and so does the graph of that report (but different
    items).
For instance, I chose the following counters for the data collector set:
    \PhysicalDisk(*)\% Idle Time
    \PhysicalDisk(*)\Avg. Disk Queue Length
    \PhysicalDisk(*)\Avg. Disk sec/Read
    \PhysicalDisk(*)\Avg. Disk sec/Write
When the data collection ends, the report that gets displayed shows all those counters for _Total instance and C:, but then E: only shows % Idle Time and Avg. Disk Queue Length. That's it, the report ends there, even though I also have F: and V: drives on
    this server.
If I choose to view the graph of this data collection, it only shows those four counters for the _Total instance.
It took me a while to realize that all the data is being captured, but it's just the display that is truncated. If I view the folder then open the report.html, it actually shows all the data. Same with the graphs. If I select to add counters and add
all the missing counters, they are displayed.
I have searched high and low but haven't been able to find more than one post at ServerFault where someone had a similar issue, but no real solution or cause was provided, so I was hoping that someone here might have an idea.
I also found a variety of articles about missing counters due to registry settings or because the counters needed to be reset, but that's a different issue that doesn't apply in my case. By the way, this is on a windows server 2012 R2 VM (file server).

    Hi SomeAdmin,
The counter missing often caused by the related registry value is corrupted, please first refer the following related KB then perform a fix then monitor the issue again.

  • How to genarate performance monitoring report in SAP PI automatically

    Dear All,
I have a requirement where I need to automatically generate a report of monthly data of Performance monitoring in SAP PI  and send it to business users.
As per my understanding, this can be achieved by pulling the data every month from the tables where these data of Performance monitoring is maintained internally within SAP PI.
Please provide me inputs as which table stores these data/ and solutions to acheive this.

  • Farm performance monitoring & reporting

I know this question is very vast and cannot be answered simply, but I want to check with the experts which single tool we can use to get the performance reports for the entire sharepoint farm sites, list , document libraries.
    Problem:
sometimes the performance is fine. But not all the time. Now and then the page loads slow, while navigating to department site or opening a document library etc. The performance
is not consistent at all times
    Goal:
Set the counters for a week or month to obtain a detail report for below:
    1. network
    2. user load
    3. SQL queries
    3. other areas which are affecting the performance.

I don't know of any single tool that does all of that. There might be some third party solutions that can but you'll have to pay for them.
I do a lot of performance work and the key step that is often missed is establishing exactly what the problem is. Get as much detail about what is slow, what isn't and when it does and doesn't occur.
Once you know where the problem is you can avoid having to check 50 different counters and systems.

  • ACS 5.1 "Launch Monitoring & Report Viewer" not working

I'm trying to view the logs on the ACS server via the web interface.  When I click on "Launch Monitoring & Report Viewer", it opens a new window and I get the error "cannot display the webpage".  This happens on both Firefox and IE.  The URL it's trying to load is this:  https://x.x.x.x/acsadmin/ReportsRedirectorAction.do
These are relatively new boxes so I don't know if I missed some config bit somewhere to enable that utility or what.
    Any insight would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

I had the issue in ACS 5.1 no patch and it was fixed after reboot and after applying patch three it didnt showed up. The only difference is i had a standalone ACS.Who is the log collector in your setup?
Let me know if you can apply patch here is the link for that :

here is the procedure to apply patch 3 ( on both primary and secondary)
    downlaod the file : 5-1-0-44-3.tar.gpg
and place the file in the FTP server in your enviroment
Login to the ACS CLI :

  • How do I write/use performance monitor to run an action when something happens?

I notice that I get a popup if desktop resources are over-used asking me if I want to turn off the glass desktop.
    That's fine.
I've been looking in Performance Monitor for how this is done, as I have a program that periodically runs amok and starts indexing my Documents directory.  I usually start to notice my machine getting sluggish when the process gets to about 1.5-2+GB
in Virtual and working memory.  At that point it seems to be increasing it's network usage rate geometically, and interrups will start getting delayed or lost -- keyboard will lock up for periods, lots of things freezing temporarily (music will get 10-20
second dropouts)  It can even cause a complete system lockup
So what I would like to do is monitor any instance of this process by name ('explorer'), and restart it when it gets to over 1.5GB of usage.
I setup a monitor of virtual size and working memory in the performance monitor, but I don't see how to set up an alarm that starts an action to restart it.  (restarting it will cause the problem to go away for anywhere from a few hours to several days).
I've no clue as to what triggers it.

Question is, how can I setup it for calling a trigger script when
parameters for Explorer get out of spec.
On confusing issue that stopped me from proceeding, was the time schedule to run the report:
    I only allows for once/day.
I need / want continuous monitorying -- say at 1 minute or 3 minute intervals (5 might work, not sure -- doesn't take long for Explorer to get to 1-2G with a network connection of 10Gb.
So how can I monitor and control it?
    A side issue -- I notice a resource-control agent for Win 2008 -- but this was disabled for Win7.
Anyone know why resource usage on Win7 was considered less important than on Win2k8 server?
My version of Win7 is Win7-x64-sp1 "Ultimate" [sic] (it doesn't include professional features like resource control)...
Thanks...This has bothered me for over a year and has persisted through new profiles and reinstalls of of the OS.
I have a feeling it is related to MS disabling Network disks in their indexer, so Explorer ends up doing it as a surrogage for things like the search engine (with the results not stored, because they are not local -- the worst of both worlds?)... but that's
    just a feeling...
    Thanks!
    Astara...

You can create a Data Collector Set (create manually, not template), then choose performance counter Alert, configure alert actions, from the script, seems you want to monitor the “physicalDisk” performance, so you can set the “physicalDiskCounters”
into alert action, please follow the instruction in the link below.

If you want to view the detailed process related about explorer when your machine getting sluggish, I'd like to introduce a tool named process explorer to you.

It can clearly show you the processes running in your system, along with the hierarchical relationship and the cpu usage.

  • Alert Performance Monitor

    Hello to all,
I am writing to ask for clarification on the Performance Monitor on Win7 .
I would like to create a custom model that meets the following criteria:
    - Add only counters of my interest ;
    - Plan the times and days when you will control ;
    - Mark all of the user-defined reports ;
    - Start the alert on EventViewer \ Logs app and Services Logs \ Microsoft \ Windows \ DiagnosisPLA ID: 2031 Information and sending an email .
I created a new template, select the Create Manually \ Notice Performance Counters \ solezionato and I only those of interest to me such as the CPU and Memory ( MB \ Available )
I can clarify the exact value to be entered in the Limit field , Above and Below ?
Taking the example of Memory ( MB \ Available ) , I wish it would create an Alert when the PC has less than 512 Mbytes free. In this case the limit field should include , 512Mb and selecting Under ?
Setting the Alert performance counters , I will build the model in user-defined reports , but does not allow me to see anything unlike any other option that I put ... in the sense that I did not , however, a route log .
While planning should go on the property.
    thanks for answer..

    Hi,
Do you mean that you've already known about how to create an alert but not sure about the limit value and you're unable to see anything in the report?
    If so...
For the value of the limit, it is a threshold value, choose whether to alert when the counter value is above or below the limit, if you want to start alert under 512 Mbytes, then I think value 512 is just fine.
    For the report issue,
"Setting the Alert performance counters , I will build the model in user-defined reports , but does not allow me to see anything unlike any other option that I put ... in the sense that I did not , however, a route log ."
what is the detailed symptom? see this link
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc766130.aspx
To view reports, Local Performance Log Users or Administrator group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure, and Performance Log Users group must be assigned the "Logon as a batch User" user right.

As was suggested, use AWR (if you're licenced), if not, use Statspack,

  • Cannot launch Monitoring & Report Viewer

    Hi everybody,
i just installed ACS 5.1.0.44 with the latest Patch on a VMWare virtual machine and installed the evaluation license.
Everything works fine except for the "Monitoring & Report Viewer"-Tab:
When i try to launch the Viewer, it opens a new browser-window/tab, which then again opens another (the same) window/tab, and so on and on. So there would be an infinite number of windows/tabs, if i wouldn't close them all real quickly. Same problem with any client and any browser.
I already deinstalled ACS 5.1 and tried ACS 5.2 on the same machine -> same problem.
Am i missing something? Did anybody experience the same issue?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Performance Monitor MMC crashes

Ever since we patched our servers up to MS14-016, when we open Performance Monitor and click on Data Collector Sets > System the MMC hangs and eventually crashes.  All other functions of the Performance Monitor work just fine (ie. Monitoring Tools

    Hi CyberMat,
The next time you open your LabVIEW after a crash, there should be an error log file create. Please let me know the name of this file.

  • Only showing APP monitoring Reports in SCOM 2012 Reporting

    Hi all,
Recently i upgrade the SCOM 2012 from 2007 R2 Managament Server only because in previous environment we have only one MS server and SQL server 2008 SP2.
Now i have 4 servers for SCOM 2012.
    1) SCOM Managament server (which was upgraded)
    2) SQL server 2008 SP2 (running 3 instances)
    3) SCOM ACS server (New installation)
    4) SCOM Reporting server (New installation)
    I have using two accounts
    1) SCOM.action 2) SCOM.sdk
When i install reporting, reporting Tab are showing in the SCOM
2012 console but only Application monitoring reports are showing in Reporting. I was deleted some MP’s and then import it but the report are not imported in reporting tab. I also check SSRS, it works fine. Both SSRS url’s works fine.
I don’t know whats the problem.. Please clarify me what’s the problem.????
    Regards,
    Kamran

    Hi Muhammad,
I am also facing the exact issue as expalined above.
Even the application monitroing reports are not working. When i try to launch application monitoring reports from reportmanger , I get dataset error and see that apm.* views are missing.
Also tried deleting and importing the managementpacks, without any success. This issue is happening only in production environment.
It will be very helpful if you can let us know what Account permisisons need to be checked for. Thanks in advance.
    Thanks

  • OVD: Performance Monitor Plug-In

    Hey Everyone,
I need help getting the Performance Monitor plug-in working for OVD. I followed the instructions found in metalink document 472759.1 and in the OVD manual, but still no luck. I must be missing something. I have tried using the adapter globally and just on a specific adapter.
    The steps I follow are:
    1. Select a specific adapter.
    2. Under Plug-in/Mapping Configuration click New Plug-in
    3. Click "Select from Server..."
    4. Select the "Performance Monitor" option
    5. Leave Parameters blank and click Next.
    6. Leave the Namespace blank and click Finished.
    7. Save settings to the server.
    8. Perform a search on the adapter with a filter of “vdeSearchtime=*”
I get nothing back. Am I doing something incorrectly or missing a step?
    Thanks,
    Stephen

I was having same response. Then I tried to execute the search directly in OVD Manager and it returned results.

  • CF 9 Performance Monitor problem on Win Server 2003 R2 x64

This is a new install of both the operating system and CF 9. I'm unable to get the CF 9 counters to even show up in Performance monitor.
I get the following error in the Event Viewer when trying to enable them... any ideas on what to try next?
"The data buffer created for the "ColdFusion 9 Application Server" service in the "C:\WINDOWS\system32\cfpefmon_9.dll" library is not aligned on an 8-byte boundary. This may cause problems for applications that are trying to read the performance data buffer. Contact the manufacturer of this library or service to have this problem corrected or to get a newer version of this library."

Sorry. I was waiting to see if others had answers.
Since so far they don't, let me ask this: if you view Perfmon, do you find whether it lists CF 8 as a performance object (in perfmon)?
If so, add them to the display and see if perhaps those show what you thought should be reported for CF9.
I just checked my own 2k3 server, and I too had updated it from 8 to 9. Though not 64bit, I see the same error in my event log, but I see that my CF9 server stats are being reported under CF8. To be clear,  don't have CF8 running. But I did update from Enterprise Multiserver 8 to 9 Standard. That may explain why the cf8 dll is still in windows\system32. I suppose mine is a rather rare case, but maybe it's what happened to you. I could try deleting the cf8 dll, but since I do still have the CF8 install there, with the instances stopped (cfusion, admin, and others), I may have need to turn them on some day. Also, it seems I'd need to restart CF or perhaps the server to make that change take effect, and I'd rather not (it's my prod server).
But let us know if the workaround (viewing under CF8 counters) works, or if you have the same situation and would be willing to delete the CF8 dll and restart.
