Performance Score Card Database Configuration failed

Hi Experts,
Yesterday I started installing Hyeperion 11.1.1.3.0. I got some problems one them is Performance Score Card Database Configuration failed. I supplied following credentials during configuration: [Click here |http://www.imageping.com/show.php/60465_PerformanceScoreCard.jpg.html]. This is my second attempt, for the first attempt i gave hyperion_ss as database user name, If i used the same user name for the second time its alerting me as "Invalid Database Schema for the Product Performance Scorecard", so i created new user hyperion_ps. For both the users i granted create session, connect, and resource privileges. After i got Database Configuration Failed window i went to sql*plus and counted for number of table it gives 215. My database is Oracle 11g, Windows 2003 server. Please help me in solving this issue, please............
Thanks in advance,
-N-

You are getting the message because:
In the process it atrted creating the table and index on the schema but it was unable to complete that.
solution:
Delete the DB schema and then do the configuration once again.
provide DBA access to the schema
Also please do check if the data file for the tablespace in Oracle DB has reached the limit or not.
Regards,
Bish

    Hi ASolar,
Were you able to solve this problem? If so if you could tell us how you solved it we would greatly appreciate it.
We have had the same issue trying to re-configure the Foundation service on Sun Solaris (SPARC 64bit) with Oracle 10G.

I've manually edited both the listner.ora and tnsnames.ora to specifically point to an IP but yet it's still trying to use a FQDN, I'm a little confused at that...???
    *# listener.ora Network Configuration File:*

This is on a fresh install on the VM so maybe I missed the obvious???
Anyway, I'm pretty green with the ORACLE install and could use some help.

    Hello Adam,
as you receive this error from "configure", the problem probably doesn't sit in the files you've edited, as they are supposed to be (re)created in that step.
My guess would be you have some problem in your network setup. Probably your primary network interface has your FQDN assigned.
You could try to modify your +/etc/hosts+ such that the first hit on your host isn't the FQDN but just the hostname. This value will be taken by the configure script, no matter what kind of value you've edited manually to the ora-files.
Another option would be not to run "configure" again, but just start the database, either manually as Nikolay suggested, or using the init script
/etc/init.d/oracle-xe startIf you want to try the manual approach, the environment variables would be set as follows
    export ORACLE_SID=XE
export ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xeUsually there is a script for that: +/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe/bin/oracle_env.sh+ . But possibly this hasn't been generated on your system properly, as your "configure" didn't work as expected.
So my recommendation would be to fix it from there, i.e., to fix the problems that block the success of "configure".

  • Balance Score Card Configuration Guide

    Hi Experts,
Please guide me how to configure Balance Score Card In HCM.
if any document is available please send that also to my id
    thanks
    Roopesh

    Hi Rishi,
it is very interesting to read a 'first' inquiry about the balanced scorecard concept. You've found a very rich topic to educate yourself in. Personally, having worked in this area for almost eight years now, I would divide this topic in two main aspects:
<b>1) Balanced Scorecard as methodology:</b> there are several great publications on this topic by the 'fathers' of this concept (Drs. Kaplan & Norton, see the response by Manish, too). The following two are key in my opinion and they've helped me a lot understand the theory:
    - <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Balanced-Scorecard-Translating-Strategy-Action/dp/0875846513/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-6553279-1939130?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1190017043&sr=8-1">The Balanced Scorecard: Translating Strategy into Action</a>
    - <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Strategy-Focused-Organization-Scorecard-Companies-Environment/dp/1578512506/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/104-6553279-1939130?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1190017043&sr=8-3">The Strategy-Focused Organization: How Balanced Scorecard Companies Thrive in the New Business Environment</a>
Some additional basic info can be found on Wikipedia, too:
    <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balanced_scorecard">Wikipedia - balanced scorecard</a>
<b>2) Balanced Scorecard as supported by SAP applications:</b> I would recommend you to have a look at a new strategy/performance management solution of SAP called SAP Strategy Management (SSM) which replaced the older Balanced Scorecard app of Strategic Enterprise Management (SEM). More info on SAP SSM can be found e.g. <a href="http://here">http://www.sap.com/solutions/performancemanagement/index.epx</a>. SSM supports the Balanced Scorecard methodology but at the same time it is methodology-agnostic and can be used for all performance management methodologies based on objectives, KPI's and initiatives. SSM is based on technology acquired by SAP with a company called Pilot earlier this year.

Following are the last few lines of the log file. Can anyone please help me to fix this problem?<snip>
the error has nothing to do with DBCA. DBCA was simply the last in a long string of victims.
Go back and read the instructions where you downloaded the install media. They state that the TWO zip files you download must be unzipped into the same directory.

  • Database Configuration Assistant fails during instalation of Oracle EE 8.1.7

My machine runs RH 6.2 and I have tried to install it Oracle. After executing all pre-instalation steps, I run ./runInstall and instalation process goes on. I select Typical Instalation and instalation proceeds until 100%, when OUI tries to configure Net 8 Assistant and Database Configuration Assistant. Both applications fail in this phase. Unfortunately, OUI shows a message (Database Configuration Assistant) informing that /u01/.../JRE/bin/jre does not exist. However, I have installed JDK 118 and JRE link seems correct, so that I can access JDK directory throught JRE link.

At the Oracle Support site https://support.oracle.com
To access the document, you will need a valid CSI (Customer Support Identifier), which is given when you purchase a support contract from Oracle.
If you do not have a CSI, I would recommend that you completely uninstall the product and reinstall again by following the Install Guide at http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/portal.portal_db?selected=11

  • 11g fails in Database Configuration Assistant with ORA-01919

I'm installing 11g on a 32-bit CentOS (redhat) box, and the Database Configuration Assistant is failing with
ORA-01919: role 'XDBADMIN' does not exist
I can in fact read, so I do know what's causing this particular error (and all the cascading errors if I hit the "ignore" button) but I don't know what I missed earlier in the installation process that should have created this role.
The Database Configuration Assistant is at 46% completion when it throws up this error.
Looking in the logs under /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/cfgtoollogs/dbca/orcl/mkplug_v3_orcl.log
I see this particular error in
specify password for OE as parameter 1:
PROMPT password for SYS as parameter 2:
    SP2-0306: Invalid option.
    Usage: CONN[ECT] [logon] [AS {SYSDBA|SYSOPER|SYSASM}]

ORA-01919: role 'XDBADMIN' does not exist
GRANT create any directory TO oe
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01031: insufficient privilegesBut I think this is a secondary error. The log file's first entry is an error:
    SP2-0306: Invalid option.
    Usage: CONN[ECT] [logon] [AS {SYSDBA|SYSOPER|SYSASM}]
    where <logon>  ::= <username>[/<password>][@<connect_identifier>] [edition=value] | /

new   1: CREATE USER hr IDENTIFIED BY change_on_install

....Any help where I can look to get closer to the original error?
    Thanks!

You should check out metalink doc id 742014.1, "XDB 11g Install and Deinstall Note."
    Hopefully this helps.

  • Database Configuration Assistant Failed

    On Windows 2000 8iEE 8.1.7 9iAS EE 1.0.2.1 Same Machine
I'm facing a problem with Cache Database Configuration Assistant. By the time I was installing 9iAS EE, the Database Configuration Assistant show up and It get connected properly to the origin database but get stuck at 96% when trying to import user list. So the installation of CACHE Database failed.
Oracle Portal and others products get installed properly.
I tried again to reinstall the Cache Database using command line like :
    wtacca -deinstall and then
wtacca -create - typical but still get stuck at 96%.
I will appreciate your comments on how to solve this problem.
Besides, once it get installed, Do I need to reconfigure another tool ? Like Portal, Form Reports Discover Services etc??
    Thanks in advance.

    okey sir,
first of all, please install your 9ias in a different oracle_home. They both cannot share same oracle home.
During installation of 9ias, please re-configure your network configuration file i.e: tnsnames.ora to include your origin database services.
    Then proceed with the installation...
    Good luck.

  • Database Configuration Assistant Failed During 9i Installation

Database Configuration Assistant failed during my 9i Installation due to lack of disk space. I had 4MG allocated on /apps and the application used 3.1GB. I now do not have the required 1GB for the seed database. Actually, I want to create the seed database on /oradata, not on /apps. Does anyone know how I can create that seed database in /oradata? I don't believe I was prompted for where to create that seed database. Also, how can I run the Database Configuration Assistant again? Typing the command dbca told me to set the DISPLAY environment variable and re-run.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
    Veronica

    I had java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError too.
This was fixed by having DISPLAY setting
    #export DISPLAY=host:0.0
Make sure your x window system is working Ok.
    I also used unset LANG
