Performance slows down when moving from stage to test schema within same instance with same database table and objects

We have created a stage schema and tested application which is working fine when we are moving it to another schema for further testing ( This schema is created using same scripts which were used to create objects in staging schema) the performanc of application (Developed in .NET) slows down drastically
Some of the store procedures we have checked at Databse/SQLdeveloper level are giving almost same performance but at Application level there is lot of difference

Are you using the Database Cloud Service? You cannot create schemas in the Database Cloud Service, which makes me think you are not. This forum is only for the Database Cloud Service.

Performance slowing down when ripping cd's..external drive won't work

2 problems I need help with. Itunes was ripping my cd's to wav format anywhere from 20-40x from my internal cd/dvd player/burner. Now it's only doing it around 12x. I cleaned up space and defraged the hard drive, but that didn't help. I also upgraded to the latest version of itunes (which took me 2 days to fix..that's another discussion completely). Still didn't help. I then tried using the external player cd/dvd player/burner. The cd is recognized by itunes, but will not rip the file. It goes through the files very quickly and leaves filenames on my hard drive, but the files are empty.
So what's killing the speed on my internal drive and how come I can't rip from the external drive?

You'd have to rule out the possibilities. By connecting the drive to another Mac using the same cable, it seems like you have ruled out the drive itself and the cable.
The two remaining possibilities I can think of are the iMac's FireWire 400 port being faulty and a software-related cause.
To rule out the software cause, you can try starting up from your Mac OS X installation disc; insert disc and restart with the C key held down. When you get to Installer's first screen, go up to the menu bar. Under Utilities, select to run Disk Utility. Connect the external drive. Does it appear in the Disk Utility sidebar properly, as a drive with a volume indented below? If it does, there may be some problem with your currently installed system that is causing this problem. If it does not, then it becomes more likely that there is some hardware-related problem with the iMac's FireWire port.
Note: When you did the "unplugging everything for half an hour," you should use the reset SMC procedure instead. Try following this procedure precisely.

When you do this, you should disconnect ALL cables. If you have been using a power strip, connect the power cord directly to a wall power outlet for this test. Power it up with nothing connected, except for the power cord. Then, add only your keyboard/mouse. Connect the external drive. Is there any difference?
Also consider how the external drive is connected to power. Is it connected to power differently when it works on the MacBook? Were you using a crowded power strip that also has the iMac's power cord? As with the iMac itself, if you have been using a power strip, try connecting the hard drive's power cord directly to a wall power outlet for this test.

Performance issue when moving from 4.6c to 6.0

Looks like we took a performance hit when moving from 4.6c to 6.0 on the same hardware.
For example, our PGI on outbound deliveries now takes several seconds longer in 6.0 then it did in 4.6c. We've noticed other SAP area's are taking longer as well. With an ST05 sql trace on the PGI in 6.0, we see more tables being accessed, same tables being access differently taking longer. All leading to more time to do a PGI in 6.0.
Has anyone else noticed this increase in Response time when upgrading to 6.0 ?

Hello.
Yes, in our system we noticed the same thing at start. The general performance seemed to get worse after upgrading. In fact, database became bigger and more memory is consumed. However, it was tuned up by our system administrator and now seems ok.
Run the optimizer statistics and see if it get's better.

Internet speed slows down when connecting via airport express. When connecting directly via the timecapsulethe internet speed is ok, when connecting via the airport express the speed slows down.What can I do to change that? Any suggestions?

Turn off the AirPort Express completely as a test, and move your computer very close to the location of the Express.
As I said before, the Express can only extend the bandwidth (speed) that it receives from the Time Capsule, so the speed that you see there with the Express powered off will be the fastest speed of which the Express is capable.
The Express will make the signal go further when it extends....but it will not make the signal go faster.
A good location for a device that extends wirelessly is a point that is about half the distance from the Time Capsule and the general area that needs more wireless coverage.
If you locate the AirPort Express too far from the Time Capsule or there are more than a couple of walls in the signal path, the signal will be very slow by the time that it reaches the Express....and the Express simply extends a signal that has already slowed down significantly.
If you already have the Express located about half the distance between the Time Capsule and general area that needs more wireless coverage, how many walls, ceilings or other obstructions are there in the signal path between the Time Capsule, the AirPort Express and the area that needs more coverage?
Often, due to obstructions, it is just not possible to achieve good performance when you try to extend a network wirelessly. The solution is connect the AirPort Express to the Time Capsule using a wired Ethernet connection.
There is virtually no signal loss with this type of connection, so the Express can be located exactly where it is needed and it will produce a much faster wireless signal in this type of setup.

Excel slows down when network drive is mapped

Since a couple of months we are experiencing strange behaviour of excel (2011) on Lion 10.7.5
Excel versions from 14.3.1. to 14.3.4 all the same behaviour.
Symptom 1)
When I connect the Time Capsule drive , Excel slows down by factor 100 when entering text. Needs up to 2 seconds to react on a key stroke.
When I disconnect the handle, excel works fast again.
(repeatable, reproducible)
Symptom 2)
on the network drive, always at the same place, a file named ~abcde.xls... occurs (exact name forgotten, but it is a recent file name
preceded with a tilde sign)
deleting of the file does not affect speed
the file reappears occasionally (TC backup is switched off!)
Where is the ghost??? :-D
maybe these symptoms are uncorrelated.
Why the heck does Excel slow down when I open the network drive??
Why does this happen on 10.7.5 and not on 10.6.8?

Thanks. Away on holiday right now, but will do it as soon as I get back next week.
Out of curiosity, the external drive works fine when connected directly via USB to the laptop. I took that to mean that the problem wasn't to do with the drive, but probably the network. Is it possible there could be a problem with the drive which only shows up when it's used as a network drive?

Slow down when processing image clipping in photo shop with pen tool

Adobe cs5 slow down when processing image clipping use with pen tool. The path is applying after few seconds when we draw on the image. My system supporting 4 GB memory with 64 bit.

The main thing i use paths for in photoshop is extracting objects from photos.
Other uses include stroking paths with the paint tools. For example, if you had
a powerline to remove, one could trace the line with the pen tool and then stroke
the path with spot healing brush set to content aware fill.

My e-mail Advanced Settings are selected for "Remove from server when moved from Inbox." Even when I access the e-mail accountfrom my desktop and delete the e-mails, the re-appear on my iPad. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this and what I can do to actually delete them?

Sounds like you are looking in the wrong Administrative Group container which is why you are seeing your Exchange 2010 servers in there.
When you install Exchange 2003 only you will see a container named by default as "CN=First Administrative Group" container. But this could be named anything if you changed the Organization Name on the installation when you installed the first
Exchange 2003 server into the domain/forest.
You will notice that when you install Exchange 2010 part of the AD setup is to create a new configuration container and is named by default "CN=First Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)".
So it sounds like you are not looking in the right location within ADSIEdit.

I recommend though that you ensure your Exchange 2003 servers are fully uninstalled or no longer present in your environment before you go deleting the Servers container though.. The following Microsoft article will help with this:

Songs slowing down when I type

I'm running iTunes 7.7.1 on a new computer. iTunes had no problem on my old one, but on my new one, the songs slow down when I type, which is rather annoying, since I listen to music while, you know, typing. I'm on WinXP Pro, and everthing else is working great. Any ideas?

You need to convert it to 44.1 16 bit. You can do that with iTunes.

Is your problem with Safari on the iPad, or some MacBook Air?
Are you sure that the ASUS firmware is tested with the device having trouble and its operating system?
Note: MacBook Airs do not run iOS. They run Mac OS X, Windows or Linux.

When moving from a list of threads view to a thread would be nice to jump to last thread read.

When moving from a list of threads being viewed to a thread, it would be nice to jump to last thread read or first unread thread.
Sometimes the threads get rather long. Sometimes I haven't read a thread in awhile & I forget where I have left off reading a thread. It would be nice to have an icon to click on to move to your last read post or the first non-read post.
Seems this could be implemented in javascript without too much problem. Might be a problem of when to get rid of the tracking data.

This would be a new capability. I didn't know you could jump directly to the last post in a thread by clicking on the posters name in your discussions. However, I am interested in jumping to the first post that I haven't read.
Since writing my original post, I realize that software doesn't know what posts I have read. Lets say there are are 26 posts in a thread. Lets assume these are divided into three pages with at most 10 items in a page:
page 1 -- a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j
page 2 -- k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t
page 3 -- u, v, w, x, y, z
The software know that I have viewed the first three pages. It doesn't know what post on the pages I have read. The software would need to assume I have read all the available posts on a page.
Now lets assume that 12 more post were added. This results in:
page 1 -- a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j
page 2 -- k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t
page 3 -- u, v, w, x, y, z, aa,bb,cc,dd
page 4 -- ee,ff,gg,hh,ii,jj,kk,ll
It would be nice if I could go to aa.
Jumping to the last post in the thread doesn't hack it. You have to spend a lot of time finding where you left off your reading.
Intesting, the list of your posts on your homepage usings the term Last Activity were as Your Discussions uses the term Last Post. The terminalogy should be the same & should act the same. For the existing capability of going the the last post, I was thinking of Goto Last Post.

you could ask for Form_Success when moving to detail_block (in wehn-new-block-instance i.e.) and if not form_success you could show an alert to ask for commit changes...
