Performance Tool for Mass Tests

Hello everybody,
does anybody know, if there are any tools (best would be freeware), besides Mercury Loadrunner, which you can make mass tests over the ITS ?
We just need 1 license or one installation to measure the performance when alot of users work.
We make a performance project and we need to simulate mass tests in the ITS.(WEB)

Performance Tools for Weblogic

Hello All!
I need help! I am trying to find out which of the tools is better
suited for me to be able to do performance testing of an application
under load.
I am looking for a tool that can provide me detailed application
performance metrics. Seems like both Insight and Perform Assure can do
this job for me.
If any of you have had experience with using performance tools such as
Prescise Insight or Sitraka's Perform Assure I would appreciate any
input you might have on your usage experience of these tools.
Also if you know of any other tools that might provide similar
information such as the above tools, that would be really helpful.

Thanks for your input! Sounds like you are probably using these
products.
I saw the PerformAssure demo. Their GUI is very slick!! PerformAssure
does some cool stuff like comparing EJB metrics with system metrics
and were able to show me the EJB method that was causing a problem
with a petstore application.
I heard about this new tool from a company called Performant
(http://www.performant.com). I am signed up for a demo with these
folks. Will let you all know what I find.
I looked at Wily site and didn't persue them as they seem to be
deployable in the production environment. Our application is not live
yet, but we want to be able to make sure it can handle good load ;)

Tools for load testing SharePoint 2007

Please advice a tools, which i can use for load testing a SharePoint 2007. We had one issue with performance and want now to detect a reason. So i need to simulate a load testing with 500-600 users for one SharePoint page.
I have found some information, that i can use a Visual Studio Test Edition, but my level of MSDN subscriber has just a Visual Studio. May be there is another free tools for this...

Tool for mass modification of KM / collaboration permissions

Hi,
do you know if there is a tool in portal for mass modification of permissions for documents, folders and collaboration rooms? It would be quite handy.
For example I have a folder which contains 100 documents and I want to change permissions for only some of the documents, but I don't want to change them one by one (go through the details dialog box for each document and change permissions).
The same question is for collaboration rooms.

There is a KM report named Propagation of Properties, under Content Administration -> KM Content -> Toolbox -> Reports -> Mass Operations -> Propagation of Properties, which allows you to propagate the existing properties of a resource, to other folders and their contents or to individual documents.

Please recommend a tool for stress-testing ?

Could anyone please recommend a (free) tool to do multi-threaded stress-test, on plain java classes ?
In more detail: I'd like to do unit-test for some plain java methods (only mathematical calculations. No web interface, no swing).
The emphasis is stress test: i need to launch multiple threads, all of them repeately invoking my method. Under these conditions, I need to report correctness (has the method yielded the expected return value), and statistics on response time.

Performance tool for Oracle Forms 4.5

We are migrating from 11.0.3 to 11.5.10.2 but still have to support 11.0.3 instances till GoLive of 11.5.10.
Does anyone know about any performance measurement tool that I can use to measure the performance of old Forms 4.5.
I see that we can use FRD to record session data and also there is a feature in forms 6i to convert that FRD log into html or csv files for performance data, but couldnt find anything like that for Forms 4.5. I can generate a primitive FRD log for Forms 4.5, but dont think its useful from performance perspective.

We need to monitor DB and forms server's performance from client perspective, so we are installing Virtual machines on all client sites. Measuring DB performance is straight forward, we can create timed sessions and see the difference in query time responses.
But for Forms 4.5 it is a little tricky, so I was looking for some performance tool that I can use to measure forms server performance either from client or server side.

Tools for automated testing

Hi,
our QA dept is looking for a tool for creating automated tests that simulate user activity on web sites (APEX-based particularly).
This tool probably should be able to create initial test scripts on behalf of QA engineer and then play them on its own to test our business processes.
Could anybody recommend a good tool for this purpose?

Although it's maybe not entirely APEX, I saw Steven Feuerstein showing "Quest Code Tester for Oracle" (http://www.quest.com/code%2Dtester%2Dfor%2Doracle/ or http://unittest.inside.quest.com/product_info.jspa).
As Steven describes: Code Tester automates the process of building and running tests of your PL/SQL programs. The major breakthrough achieved by this tool is that you describe the expected behaviour of your program through a graphical interface, and then Code Tester generates the test code needed to implement those tests.
I found it quiet nice and as we're using a lot of PLSQL packages too, I think it can be useful in an APEX environment.

VSL Performance tool for EXS does not work in Logic 8?!

Is this true? http://community.vsl.co.at/forums/t/11356.aspx
If so, this is a deal breaker for me, as VSL is my bread and butter orchestral library! Supposedly Apple ensured the VSL team that their performance tools will work correctly in Logic 8, but some users are saying this is not the case!
Is there anyone successfully using the VSL performance tools in Logic 8? Particularly the Legato tool?

Tools for stress testing

Does any one have any idea if there are any oracle tools to perform stress test on App Server for a given application.

There are tools to perform the performance analysis of BPC, one is loadrunner. But be careful when defining the "hundreds of users using the application simultaneously"; There are many scenarios in my mind, where you could have several hundred users using BPC, but not sending or retrieving data at the exact same time. You might check the SAP sit eto see if any presentations are posted from the Sapphire conference this Spring.

Performance problem for mass transactions after upgrade from 4.7 to ECC6.0

Hi All,
After upgrade from 4.7 to ECC 6.0 (IS-U), mass transactions such as FPY1, FPVA, FP04M are taking very long time to complete. for example, before upgrade the jobs sceduled for FPVA transaction take around 5k-6k seconds. Whereas after upgrade the jobs for FPVA with the same variant takes around 9k-10k seconds. I am unable to figure out the cause for exponential increase in the duration of several mass-jobs (after the upgrade). Are there any SAP notes or do we need to do any customizing setting to solve this problem? Does anyone face this kind of problem?

Hi,
This is normal after upgrade to 6.0, I have faced the same in all upgrades I've done and some others that I have involved also. If you did not requests and going live upgrade check I strongly recomend to schedule an Early Watch Check to minimize the impact. Times won´t be the same but can be very close if the system is tuned well. We have tuned systems that now run with good performance after this services.

Tool for Mass deletion Idoc

Hello everybody,
We have a little problem with our ALE....We have generated 2 000 000 idoc by error in our Sender System..all the idoc have the statut 30 (generated)...
We're looking for a programm or a transaction to edit or delete these idocs...(we didn't find it)
Is it possible ?

If you do not want the IDocs, which I am guessing is the case based on your question, you could use transaction code SARA to archive the IDocs. If you are not familiar with SARA, there are some steps you will need to complete to setup variants for the Archive run.
1. Go to WE47 and check whether you have status code 30 setup for archiving possible or not. When you double click the status code it brings up the details for the status. There is a section for "Archiving"; it should be set to "Poss.".
2. Go to transaction code SARA, enter Object Name = IDOC and enter.
3. You will need to go to the Customizing section of Archive Management and setup the Test run variant and Production run variant for the Delete Program (RSEXARCD) .
4. When you click Archive, you will be able to create a variant for the Archive program run (RSEXARCA). At this point you can specify "Do not create archive file" if you do not want the IDocs archived to a file.
