Could any one pls tell me where to find sap notes.
I am looking for "SAP Note 857530 "
Integration process performance(in sap XI).
or how can I view the performance of the integration process ? or exactly how performance tuning is done.
pls help,
Best regards,

Hi,
SAP Note:
Symptom
Performance bottlenecks when executing integration processes.
Other terms
ccBPM
BPE
Performance
Integration Processes
Solution
This note refers to all notes that are concerned with improving the performance of the ccBPM runtime.
This note will be continually updated as improvements are made.
Also read the document "Checklist: Making Correct Use of Integration Processes" in the SAP Library documentation, on SAP Service Marketplace, and in SDN; it contains information about performance issues to bear in mind when you model integration processes.
Refer to the appended notes and maintain the default code changes by using SNOTE, or by importing the relevant service packs. Note that some performance improvements cannot be implemented by using SNOTE and are instead only available in service packs.

  • Business Process Performance Tuning

    Hi Pals,
I would like to request your help and inputs regarding tuning performance of Business process for my scenario.
I have created a synchronous Process with 3 message mapping transformation steps. ( inbetween Sync Receive and Sync Send steps). So its pretty simple process.
I am able to execute only 3500 processes per hour.
The SAP Netweaver Server m/c configuration is 2 dual core processors with 12 GB RAM.
Business process - Without buffering with multiple queues (content specific).
IE Logging - No sync logging, logging level - 0 ( so logging turned off )
I have tried out all the configurations mentioned in below weblogs, but with very less improvement in my case.
Performance Tuning Checks in SAP Exchange Infrastructure(XI): Part-III
Performance Tuning Checks in SAP Exchange Infrastructure(XI): Part-II
Performance Tuning Checks in SAP Exchange Infrastructure
I think something else is choking the execution, as the CPU or memory usage is not more than 10-20%.
    Please pour in your inputs.
    Thank you!
    Best Regards,
    Saravanan N

    Thank you very much Bhavesh!
In my BPM, all the steps are set for "No New Transaction". So as to avoid any performance issue. But there is no  improvement.
Even I have deleted all the work-items from Trxn: SWWL before the test.
From ST03N, for each process instance executed, four function modules takes the maximum time.
    Function Module--No. of Calls--
    Execution Time/RFC Call
    TRFC_QIN_DEST_SHIP-- 1--
    995 milliseconds
    TRFC_QIN_ACTIVATE--1--
    1077 milliseconds
    ARFC_DEST_SHIP--2--

  • Idoc views updation, Workflow, Performance tuning techniques!

    Hello,
    Greetings for the Day!
Currently my client is facing following issues and they seek an help/attention to these issues. Following is the current landscape of an client.
    Sector – Mining
SAP NW MDM 7.1 SP 09
    SAP ECC EHP 5
    SAP PI 7.0
    List of Issues:
Classification (CLFMAS idoc) and Quality (MATQM idoc) views tries to update before MATMAS idoc updates and creates the material in ECC table.
At workflow level, how to assign incoming record approval request, put them in mask like functionality and approve them as bulk records.
    Performance tuning techniques.
    Issue description:
Classification (CLFMAS idoc) and Quality (MATQM idoc) views tries to update before MATMAS idoc updates and creates the material in a table.
Currently, client’s MATMAS idoc updates Basic data1 and Basic data2 along with other views and material gets updated in ECC table, but whenever record has classification and quality view to update via CLFMAS and MATQM idoc, these 2 idocs tries to search the material ECC table before respective MATMAS to update the table. As it does not have the basic data created for the material entire idoc fails. Kindly suggest the solution as in how we can align the process where classification and quality view will get update only after the basic data views gets updated to material master. Is there any way we can make views to be updated sequentially?
At workflow level, how to assign incoming record approval request, put them in mask like functionality and approve them as bulk records.
Currently, super users are configured within the system, they have 2 roles assigned to their ID’s, 1.custodian and 2.steward. In custodian role user assigns the MDM material number and check other relevant assignment to record creation request, user approves the material request and the request goes to steward role. As the 1 user has 2 roles, same user need not to checks everything again in steward role, hence user wants whatever request comes at steward user inbox, he shall be able to create one single group for those 20-30 records and on one single click entire materials shall be approved and disappear out of his workflow level. Is there any way by which it can be achieved.
    Performance tuning techniques.
Currently, client MDM system response time is very very slow, after a single click of action it takes long time to reflect the action within MDM. Material database is almost around 2.5 lakh records, standard structure has been used, not a complex landscape structure. Both ECC and MDM server is on single hardware, only the logical separate DB. Kindly suggest performance techniques if any.
    Kindly suggest !
    Regards,
    Neil

    Hi Niel,
    Kindly try the below options
    -> Performance tuning techniques.
SAP Recommendation is to put the application ,server and Database in different Boxes . I am not sure how you managed to install both MDM and ECC in the same box but that is a big NO NO .
Make sure there is enough hardware support for a separate MDM box.
-> Classification (CLFMAS idoc) and Quality (MATQM idoc) views tries to update before MATMAS idoc updates and creates the material in a table.
MDM only sends out an XML file , so you definitely need a middle ware (PI) to do the conversion.
You can use PI logic ( ccBPM) to sent the IDOC is the necessary sequence .
Else you can maintain this logic in the Processing code of ECC system .
PS : The PI option is more recommended.

    Hello Experts,
Is it the right forum to follow oracle performance tuning discussions ? If not, let me know what will be the forum to pick up some thread on this subject.
I am looking for performance tuning approach for oracle 11g. I learned there are some new items in 11g in this regard. For persons, who did tuning in earlier versions of Oracle,
what will be the best way adopt to 11 g?
I reviewed the 11g performance tuning guide, but I am looking for some white papers/blogs with case studies and practical approaches. I hope that you have used them.
What are the other sources to pick up some discussions?
Do you mind, share your thoughts?

  • No one wants my Performance Tuning experience?

I worked as a DBA for 2 years in IT major where my work was confined to Performance Tuning & monitoring
and so I had no opportunity to get the experience of Backup & Recovery,RMAN and other Core DBA responsibilities.
I had to leave in July last year due to my some other career interest. Unfortunately that didn't get
    fulfilled.
So from January 15th I have decided to resume my career as a DBA.
I went to a 3 interviews ,but every time my lack of experience in Backup & Recovery and other Core DBA responsibilities is not making my case stronger in the interviews.
I am losing confidence over my chances of getting a job. Most(Almost 95%) of the IT companies want minimum 3 years experience and that too with Backup & Recovery.
I have not yet done OCA (I passed only 1z0 042). So i am planning to give 1z0-007 so that i become OCA.
    My questions to all?
1.*How much value OCA hold in the market* along with 2 years experience(In India i am based, more specifically Pune)
    2. How should i get the practical experience of Backup & Recovery at home itself?+_
    3. I dont have the financial power to go for TRAINING part of the OCP, so how should i make my resume look strong?
    4. Doesn't any company want a DBA who hasn't had a experience in Backup & Recovery. Is Performance Tuning & Monitoring experience such a waste?

OK. India has produced a lot of DBA's over the past few years, so I suspect the supply/demand situation is not in your favour, especially with the global economic climate.
And because of career break employers will often have other candidates who look stronger. And they will have certifications.
So you've been looking a month and got 3 interviews .... that's actually not that bad.
    My questions to all?
1.*How much value OCA hold in the market* along with 2 years experience(In India i am based, more specifically Pune)In general not a lot. However the only thing stopping you gettig an 10g DBA OCA is an SQL exam pass. Now if you can't pass that exam then you don't deserve the job. And given you've passed 1z0-042 an employer wll ask why who haven't passed the SQL exam (especially if you're into tuing and performance). People in India seem to love 1z0-007 .... I prefer to see people who have taken 1z0-051 or 1z0-047. However I suspect you cannot afford to spend the extra time on 1z0-047 as you need to concentrate on backup/recovery.
    2. How should i get the practical experience of Backup & Recovery at home itself?+_Hopefully you've got kit to practice on.
    3. I dont have the financial power to go for TRAINING part of the OCP, so how should i make my resume look strong?Resume's are not my best area. However in your case studying and passing 1z0-043 will help. 1z0-043 is 50% backup and recovery so that has synergy with your weak area. If finance is an issue consider a WDP course if you can get one. Some eligible courses are cheaper than others, but even they may be beyond reach,
    4. Doesn't any company want a DBA who hasn't had a experience in Backup & Recovery. Is Performance Tuning & Monitoring experience such a waste?
Obviously performance tuning and monitoring is not a waste ..... but remember Oracle is increasingly attemting to automate these in later vesions, and different techniques are available in 11gR2 compared to 9i.

  • SAP Note 1720495 in Required to be implemented in EHP7 upgrade.

    Hi Team,
During the ERP6.0 EHP7 upgrade before we release the system for SPAU activities is it mandatory to apply the SAP Note 1720495.
    Source : ECC 6.0 EHP6 Target: EC6.0 EHP7
    Regards
    Ravi Pandey

    Hi Ravi,
Do you see in SPAU Snotes with status "SAP note <no.> obsolete; de-implementation necessary"
If yes then only proceed with note implementation. Else this is not required.
Note says: When you observe such status and try to de-implement the note , it destroys the code.
So if you observe such status and want to perform de-implementation of SAP note, first implement this note and then proceed with de-implementation.

  • In sap bi performance tuning option is considered in cube not in ods, why?

    details about
    indexes,partitions,aggregates,compression,roll up
how these are helping to increase system performance
    why ods is not suitable?

    Hi,
Generally we do performance tuning on the cubes as most of the reportings are done on the cubes hpowever in case of DSO also we can increase the performance by creating indexes of deactivating SID generation flag if there is no reporting on the DSO.
Following 2 links will show you different aspects of performance tuning :-
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/404544e7-83c9-2e10-7b80-a24d5099ce3f
    For LID and High Cardinality
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/005f3197-d3da-2e10-1a94-a5c62342f2aa
You may create aggregates on the cube if some of  IO are being used in the query very frequently to enhance the performce of query execution.

  • SAP Netweaver Performance Tuning

    Guys,
I am good in SAP J2EE Engine Performance Tuning. I would like to learn SAP ABAP Based Server Performance tuning end to end. Please recommend me some links/docs to start with the performance tuning for different OS like HP-UX/AIX & for Databases : Oracle/MaxDB etc.
    Thank you in advance.
    Cheers, Karthick

Hi Karthick, for example for SAP with Oracle on AIX -->
    white paper -->
    http://www-03.ibm.com/support/techdocs/atsmastr.nsf/WebIndex/WP100377
But SAP with Oracle tuning are usually not very much dependent on the platform, of course there are differences but they are not much.
Personally, I bought the SAP Performance Optimization Guide -->
    http://www.sap-press.com/products/SAP-Performance-Optimization-Guide-(5th-Edition).html?
and SAP Database Administration with Oracle
    http://www.sap-press.com/products/SAP-Database-Administration-with-Oracle.html
    Nice books. Regards.

  • SAP Performance tuning

What measures shall we take if it is needed to performance tune the SAP Server. It is getting too slow. It will be helpful if someone can send me some link about SAP Performance tuning, not ABAP performance tuning.
    Regards,
    Subhasish

The SAP Servers can be slow because of many reasons:
    1. The Table Consistency: The tables should be consistent. A consistency check should be done regulalrly.Better would be using DB13 so that it can be scheduled in appropriate days.
    2. One major reason that I have found in recent times is the amount of authorizations that might be available to the users of the sytem. If all the users have a high volume of authorization objects in their user master buffer, then the response time becomes sluggish. This is true for most of the dev boxes that allow almost any amount of authorization for users and have a low RAM size.
    3. Also you might be intrested to check your network consistency. If you are accessing your servers from home with a wireless connection of 16kbps, you might want to configure your logon pad for such a crappy connection.
Most of the BASIS performance tuning tasks such as ST04, STAT, ST02 and DB12 should be carried out too just to investigate furthur.
Hope these were a few helpful tips.
    Peace be with everybody

  • Performance credit master data (FD32)--SAP Note 705317

    Hi,
When running the FD32 tranasaction,I am changing the credit account and saving the transaction...it is taking quite a long time and going for dump....TIME_OUT error.
The appropriate notes for this problem are 705317 and 9937.
I shall give the details details of the note.
SymptomLong runtimes occur for the reorganization of credit data in SD documents.
This reorganization can occur in two situation:
    - You start report RFDKLI20.
    - You create or change credit master data in Transaction FD32.
Reason and PrerequisitesIn the credit management, you change assignments in Customizing or create or change
credit master data. The transfer of the changed settings into existing SD documents
requires a reorganization of these documents.
The reorganization is triggered from Transaction FD32 or using report RFDKLI20. Since
the relevant partner function in the credit management is the payer, all open sales
documents for a payer are selectedfor the reorganization.
The selection is performed within function module SD_CREDIT_RECREATE, which is called
from both Transaction FD32 and report RFDKLI20.
The documents are selected according to one of the two following options:1. Partner index VAKPA
The relevant documents are selected via partner index VAKPA. In index table VAKPA,
the system updates all SD documents for a customer number in dependency on the
partner function. All documents for a payer can be determined using index table
    VAKPA.
CAUTION: Partner index VAKPA is only updated if the corresponding partner
functions and transactions are activated in Customizing table TINPA. Table TINPA
does not provide any update for the payer partnerfunction in the standard system!
    2. Document table VBPA
If the update for the payer is not active in table TINPA, the relevant documents
are selected via application table VBPA. Table VBPA contains the used partners
    (customer numbers) for SD documents.
The access to table VBPA with the customer number of the payer requires a long
    SAP Note Nr. 705317 07.02.2008 Page 1
runtime because the customer number is not a key field in table VBPA. It might
    result in a TIME_OUT.
    Solution
Due to the technical conditions described above, there are two possible solutions for
runtime problems in Transaction FD32 or with report RFDKLI20:
    1. Activate the update of index table VAKPA for the payer partner function:
Activate the update of index table VAKPA for the payer partner function by
creating an entry with transaction = 0, partner function = RG in table TINPA. You
can use Transaction SM31 for that.
Subsequently, a reorganization of index table VAKPA is absolutely required!! You
can execute the reorganization with report RVV05IVB. Note that all existing SD
documents thus also those ones already closed are indexed again by this report.
Depending on the number of your documents in the system, this can result in a
runtime which is correspondingly long. Therefore test this beforehand in a copy of
    your production system!
    2. Create a database secondary index for table VBPA:
If a reorganization of index table VAKPA is not possible or not wanted, you can
optimize the access via document table VBPA. For that, create a database secondary
    index for table VBPA.
We cannot provide a general recommendation on how you have to define the secondary
index in detail. This basically depends on your dataset.
Use the SQL trace with Transaction ST05 in order to analyze the access onto table
VBPA within function module SD_CREDIT_RECREATE. Then define a suitable database
secondary index for table VBPA according to your analysis results.
For example, you could create the secondary index for VBPA fields KUNNR and PARVW.
Test the new secondary index by creating an SQL trace with Transaction ST05 again
in order to check the effectiveness of the database access and the runtime.
Also take the related notes into account.
Use Note 99937 to avoid the automatic reorganization - and thus runtime problems - in
Transaction FD32. Note that this does not solve the runtime problem during the
reorganization in general, but shifts it to RFDKLI20 which you can schedule as a job.
Thus, you are not disturbed by the runtime problem.
Please can anyone help me as to in  which table and what fields i need to take to create secondary index.Thank you,
    madhu.

    Hi
Instead of creating Indexxes u contact basis to increase the the time limit for the execution

  • SAP CRM Performance tuning

From where can I get information or documents how to do performance tuning in SAP CRM?

Hi, Performance Tuning a SAP system is unique in every environment, also there are many area's in SAP to tune even area's outside SAP, eg... your Operating System/Network/Client Machines/Virtual Landscape/Cloud.
I recommend that you engage in a performance testing execise which will identify what area of your SAP Landscape needs tuning, first you need to identify the bottleneck before you can tune it.
The way the question was posed is exactly the same as wanting to fix a car but you have no idea which part of the car to fix...

  • SAP Business Objects Performance Tuning Guides

    Hello everyone,
I'm currently looking for Performance Tuning guides for the hardware/software. In particular, parameters for the hardware. I'm having a hard time finding any kind of guides on the server side of Business Objects. So I'm wondering if anybody knows of some that are available on the internet or SAP site?
I've found very few in the software department. However, I'm looking more for the hardware portion of Business Objects. Basically the goal is to get the server as optimal as possible (As far as memory, parameters, CPU, etc) is concerned so we know it can't be a hardware issue. It's kind of narrowing down the potential problems we can have later on down the road so that's why this is very important right now.
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. -Victor
