PerformancePoint Services - Rollup of Null KPI's

Hi,
I'm using an objective kpi with the option Use calculated values of actual and target to compute score
unchecked.
This objective kpi has 2 kpi children that don't have values, so the objective KPI should be null too. However it isn't and is rolling up somehow and returning a value that forces him to show a red arrow, equivalente to -1.
Anyone had this problem before?
Regards

Ok, so a couple of things to look at.  Have you properly configured the Time settings on the Data Source you are using?
Configure data sources to work with Time Intelligence by using Dashboard Designer -
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff701697.aspx
If that is okay then the next thing is to look at how you have these items connected.  If the date (time) is not part of the scorecard then map this to the Page in the scorecard and you should be okay.
If it is still not working then just need more details as to how you have this all configured and connected.

  • PerformancePoint Services is not configured correctly but I'm Site administrator

    Hi experts
    I recenlty create a business intelligence site and set my active directory user as administrator.
    I'm server and database administrator too.
    but when I want to create a data source I get this error:
    The Data source cannot be used because PerformancePoint Services is not configured correctly
    I see some solution in then interent but some of them say that should set unattended user for performance point service.
    I'm site administrator and Why I should set unattended user?
    thanks

    You should set the Unattended Execution Account if you don't want to set credentials for data sources.

    I haven't been able to find any useful information online about what causes this error or how to correct it.
    Additionally, sometimes a backing bean used in each of these task flows is constructed twice, and the following is logged in between the constructions:
    <RichWindowManager> <updateCurrentWindowIdForPartialRequest> No window specified in request
    <SessionDataUpdateManager> <__getPageDataUpdateManager> cannot register active data when window has no name
    Neither of these things happen 100% of the time. Has anyone else experienced either of these issues?
    Thanks,

  • SharePoint 2013 PerformancePoint services & SQL editions?

    Hello All,
    We have SharePoint 2013 enterprise edition and we wanna configure PerformancePoint services to use some of its functionalities, What edition of SQL server should we have? Is it OK to use standard edition? Anyone has any reliable technical reference
    URL to share with me ?

    Overview of SQL Server in a SharePoint environment (SharePoint 2013)
    Url: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff945791.aspx
    "The minimum requirements for a database server in SharePoint 2013 are SQL Server 2008 R2 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) or SQL Server 2012, or SQL Server 2014 64-bit versions. Note that to use the business intelligence (BI) tools in SharePoint Server
    2013 you must install SQL Server 2012 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) or SQL Server 2014, 64-bit version"
    SharePoint Foundation 2013 does not support BI features, which require SharePoint Server 2013.

  • Performancepoint service application error

    Hi,
    I am new to SharePoint 2013, I have configured the PerformancePoint Service Application.  When I tried to create the data source from the PerformancePoint Content section.  I am getting the following error.
    "Cannot connect to the PerformancePoint, contact the administrator"

    This might be problem with PerformancePoint service application association.
    Go to Central Administration -> Application Management -> Configure Service application associations.
    Associate PerformancePoint Service application with your web application.
    Hope this will resolve your problem.
    Please mark it answered, if your problem resolved.

    I've tried everything I could possibly think of to stop these events, and it still occurs, and I can't replicate it...
    Is there some way I can generate what "web parts" "templates" "Sites" "ANYTHING" that is using this service so I can stop it?!?!

    Hey Victoria,
    I really appreciate the help on this issue, it has been the toughest thing I've ever had to do, since for some reason administering a SharePoint FE server requires a Ph.D in... convolved setups...
    Anyway a couple question based on your reply..
    Hi,
    The PerformancePoint Service error may be due to its incompletely setup.
    Please follow the link below to re-configure the service to see if the issue still occurs:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee748644(v=office.15).aspx
    1) Is there no way to setup and configure SharePoint 2010 without PerformancePoint Services?
    It's apparent that these events are due to the fact that PerformacePoint was setup at one point and something failed.. and cause events to be generated... LOTS of events, which could be seen by our Monitoring server..
    However my goal was to have the SharePoint 2010 FE server be clean of events, I was hopinh to achieve this by removing the PerformancePoint Service completely from the FE as currently Collective DashBoards, or anything using this service is not being used
    in our SharePoint Enviro, so I'd rather not have this service until it comes time that we create and need Collective Dashboards....
    But since I'm in literally dire disarray to have a clean event log on this server and my SharePoint skills are very very limited, I contiue to read up on these two services SecureStore and PerformancePoint and I keep getting confused in its complex setup
    and requirements..
    There are so many Tuts that tell you how to setup A performancePoint Service, PPS App, and link it to a App Proxy.. yada yada, but for instance, in the MS link you provided it stated:
    $w = Get-SPWebApplication -identity <web application>
    $w.GrantAccessToProcessIdentity("<service account>")
    I was finally able to get this to work once I had actaully logged onto the FE server with all the required credentials to do it, but simply running The SharePoint Management Console "AS a different user" wasn't sufficient to work... Even then I was
    wondering how to verify that a set service account has required permissions, no no verify permissions cmdlet I could find, so I simply reran the command with the AD account we have setup for PerformancePoint Service, just to make sure I covered every step
    in the link you provided me.
    While everything completed without issue while setting up the Managed Service Account, Granting it access, starting the PerformancePoint service on the FE server, creating a new PerformancePoint Service Application, and putting it into the default proxy
    service application associations, I know I'll prob still get events in the event log... Nothing I have ever done has been able to get me to get this to work... which is why I request any query that could led me to anything that attempting to use this service...
    I have removed everything I thought was using it, so now my question really becomes how can one complete remove PerformancePoint Service from SharePoint 2010... goggling leads to
    this, but once again doesn't give any information on how to first check to see whats using it before deleting it... Isn't knowing whats using it important before deleting it? Isn't that what Linux does when you go to remove a service or application it warns
    you of any services or applications that use it as a dependencies , and state these will not work if you continue with the removal... This is the key I need to know in this setup to locate and stop these events.. What in SharePoint is currently using this
    service?!
    I found
    this, But I'm going to wait a bit it would seem maybe the events have calmed down... but ti is lunch right now so once user go back to using SharePoint They will probably appear again

  • How are the "Key" string values encoded in PerformancePoint services Database ParameterValues table

    Hi,
    As you know, performancepoint stores user selections for Filters in "ParameterValues" table in PerformancePoint Service database.
    I noticed that UserValues/Key is encoded. Does anyone know what encoding scheme is used ? For example, I see below text in SerializedXml column for one of the records.
    <UserValues>
    <Key>72DE084F5B6A4E0BCBBF348E2A4A09EF</Key>
    </UserValues>
    Thanks & Regards
    Poomani Sankaran

    Hi Sinoth
    You'll probably find they are being passed with commas between the values. The system will only see the first value. You would need to get clever and concatenate values into a single string then get the function to break it apart in a loop.
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • Filters limitation in Performancepoint Services 2013

    Hi Folks,
    I am developing a dashboard which is having more no.of filter and each filter is having many no.of values. So, when try to apply all the filters and their values then I am facing an exception "Access is Denied".
    Is there any limitation of filters for passing large no.of values?
    And how PPS passes the filter values to web parts, using URL or any other way?
    Thanks, Madhu

  • Web Service: Response has null value and no exception is thrown

    Hi
    I have generated a Web Service Proxy in JDeveloper 11gR1 against a web service.
    My problem is that if I try to invoke the web service programmatically the only property on the response object has the null value. I can inspect the response in the Http Analyzer and it seems to understand and display content of the response properly.
    I have debugged the service proxy and discovered that the set-method on the property is never called. No exceptions are thrown, so it is very hard to see where to start solving this issue!
    Any ideas?

    When a webservice provides a response that is not valid according to its wsdl, a webservice proxy in 10g will give useful error messages such as "Missing element 'xxx'."
    In 11g the web service proxy simply sets non-valid values to null, quietly accepting the invalid response. Is this the intended behavior?
    Is it possible to enter a debug mode, where the webservice response is validated against the wsdl as in 10g?
    I appreciate any help on this question.
    Thanks!

  • Web Service Operation Returning null

    Hi All,
    I have a web service proxy generated from WSDL. Which is generated fine.
    Once i started using the operations in the Client program. the call to the webservice is successful but the return type(This is a complex type, referring to different elements and xsds) is null.
    Please help !!!!
    This is the code snippet of my client code
    confService = new ConferenceService();
    ConferencePortType confPortType = conferenceService.getConferencePort();
    // Add your code to call the desired methods.
    GetConferenceRequest getCReq = new GetConferenceRequest();
    getCReq.setConferenceRecordNumber(20707);
    System.out.println("getConfReq == "+getCReq.getConferenceRecordNumber());
    ConferenceBODType conf = conferencePortType.getConference(getCReq);
    if (conf != null && conf.getConference() != null)
    //conf.getConference() is null
    System.out.println("Get Conference Id -- "
    +conf.getConference().getConferenceHeader().getConferenceRecNum());
    //gc = gc.transformConference(conf);
    else
    System.out.println("ConferenceBODType is null");
    I am getting ConferenceBODType is null because of the second condition in the if statement
    Please suggest, what can be the problem.
    Thanks,
    Sri

    Shay,
    The link worked. I generated Java Web Service from my WSDL, and tested using the HTTP analyzer
    But for get Operation method on the WSDL, I could not see anything in the response object, but the same operation i could see the output in soapUIPro.
    Can you give me some more guildelines to debug...
    Thanks,
    Sri

  • Flex 4 - Complex objects in a web service response are null

    I'm using a web service (imported by the data services tool) that returns an array of objects.  The service returns the array just fine, except the objects aren't being created correctly.
    The objects (we'll call them CPs for now) contain some strings, an int, and 3 other complex objects.  The basic fields (strings, ints, booleans) show up just fine, but the complex objects all show up as null.
    The web service is working properly, and I can see that the response it's getting is correct.
    If anybody has any help regarding this issue, I'd greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks!

    There should be classes generated by the tool that map to the types in the
    WSDL, and then the actual webservice response has to match the types in the
    WSDL.  If there is some discrepancy, the conversion will not happen
    correctly.
    Also, the generated classes must be linked into the SWF.  If you comment
    them out of your code somehow, then they won't be available for the
    conversion.  Generate a link-report and make sure they are in.
    You might also have trouble if you do not use the generated WebService and
    go directly to mx:WebService.

    Shay,
    The link worked. I generated Java Web Service from my WSDL, and tested using the HTTP analyzer
    But for get Operation method on the WSDL, I could not see anything in the response object, but the same operation i could see the output in soapUIPro.
    Can you give me some more guildelines to debug...
    Thanks,
    Sri

  • Did not find the PerformancePoint Services in sharepoint server 2010

    Hi Friends,
    i have just installed the sharepoint server 2010 in my computer. i want to use it to make scorecards. but i did not find the Performance services in Central administration (services on server)
    anyone can help me with this?
    Qearl

    PerformancePoint services are available only if you have installed Enterprise edition of SharePoint. If you have installed Standard or Foundation, then PerformancePoint is not available.

  • Configuring PerformancePoint Service and other BI when you're on an O365 Sharepoint site

    Sharepoint online is great. Easy to use. relatively stable. But I cannot find any protocol, in absence of having access to Central Administration (how I wish I did), to configure PPS and other elements I need to begin leveraging reporting and dashboards.
    Does anyone know how I do this? Do I have to hand feed the steps to some CIM Sharepoint Tier engineer to execute for me? Or is there another way.

    O365 does not support the traditional BI features (PerformancePoint, Excel Services with connected data sources, PowerPivot to external data sources, etc). The reasons for this are numerous (no connections back to data centers, use of claim tokens, use of
    shared webapps and therefore shared app pool accounts, etc).
    For several reasons, this is why MS is pushing "PowerBI", which is a separate half-answer to the whole hosted BI issue. But this is NOT the same as PPS/etc.
    If you want BI, you need on-prem (or hybrid, where the BI components are on-prem).
