Period Control- Mid period

Hi All,
I am trying to create two different depreciation keys.
My FI fiscal year starts from July to June.
One is with Period rule 01 i.e Pro rata at period start date. Example. If I create an asset any time during the month, the ordinary start depreciation should start at the begining of the month.
Secondly another deprecation key with period rule 03 i.e. prorata at mid period. Meaning that the ordinary start deprecation date should be from 15 of the month.
I activate the " Use of Half Months in the Company Code" then the deprecation key with prorata at period start date is behaving like pro rata at mid period.
And the other key i.e. with mid period rule 03 is giving error
"E003 SYST: Period 000 is not valid in financial year variant".
I maintained in T.Code OAVH the entries for my fiscal year for the period control rule 03 for all the period, i.e. I tried for both 24 periods and also 12 periods, with Indicator: Depreciation calculated from mid-month selected.
Please advice me if I need to do any other configuration. Issue is to resolved urgently.
Thanks in advance
Krishna

As the name suggest the depreciation calculation will start from middle of they year when this period control is used.
For example. You have an Ord Start date set to say first month of the year in the asset master. & you receive acquisition in the first month of the year but have period control 07 set in the definition of the depreciation key. Then for that asset the depreciation will be calculated from July ( Month 07).
Hope it explain you the use of period control 07.

do i have to plug in the environnement window a midi instrument to the audio track (i've tried this but without success, i am not very familiar with the environemant window)
    any suggestions ?
    thanks in advance

    Hi igy,
    bad news
I've made some tests with the only result that I can't control that robocrap with my Kontrol49.
The automation parameters are all there (you can see them selecting the track and pressing the key V) but to send chord or assign MIDI learn... no way!
The only way is to write to Sugar Byte and ask for an explanation.
    sorry!

  • Motor Control MID-7654 PCI-7340

    Hello,
I'm configuring MAX settings for a servo motor with an embedded quadrature encoder.  I set up the motor on Axis-1 and I'm simply trying to drive the motor without a load.
The motor has been able to drive under stepper motor settings, but the move is jerky and I don't have access to the encoder feedback.  When I configure the motor as a servo, the encoder feedback is working properly.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to try?
    Thanks!
    -Erin
    Solved!

Not sure I understand your post- you have a servo, and when configured as a servo the feedback works.
Why then are you trying to set it up as a stepper?

  • Period Control in Asset accounting

Can someone explain me how the period control works? Also how will we determine period control for 'Mid-Quater' convention.
Please help me out on this. Thanks and regards,
    Vishal.

Period Control Method is a system object that controls what assumptions the system makes when revaluating asset transactions that are posted partway through a period.
Using the period control method, for example, you can instruct the system only to start revaluating asset acquisitions in the first full month after their acquisition.
The period control method also allows different sets of rules for different types of asset transactions, for example, acquisitions and transfers.
Regarding determining period control 'mid quarter', it is based on the assumptions of the business for the asset revaluation.
PS: Please award points if you find the answer as useful. Your rewarding will motivate me in the future to answer more questions. Thanks.

  • Recommmendation for motion control in mid-7604

I got a new mid-7604 recently. So what type of PCI card should I use to control mid-7604 in Labview? Does 6023E or DIO32HS works? Thank you.

Sorry, but I have to add my 2 cents to this thread .
    @AK2DM
thank you for suggesting a 73xx device for this purpose instead of a DAQ device
    @bighead
apart from the fact, that the 7604's connector is designed to be connected to a 73xx device, there a a lot of functional reasons, why in general a DAQ board is not a good fit for a motion control application. Here you can find some more information about this topic.
    Kind regards,

  • Creative SB Live Drive 2 NO MIDI CONTROL

,C Hi, I have a Creative SB Li've Dri've 2 and in the EAX control Midi tab it says that midi is not mapable, why is this and can I do anything about it please?
I need to use it in my magix sequenser on individual tracks and?not as a master. Thanks.

You need an Audigy 2 or 2 Zs Dri've, but I presume that's just a semantic matter.
I'd suggest contacting CL Customer Support about getting the Software CD for the A2 Platinum as a replacement part.

  • How do I set up different hardware controls for different patches in mainstage?

I'm using Mainstage 3.0.4 and a Novation Impulse.
I created a concert, with the drawbar organ as my first and most important patch. I assigned the hardware controls on the Novation exactly how I wanted them, with the sliders controlling the drawbars, and the rotary controls changing the distortion, reverb, etc. It was perfect. I was happy.
Then I added a new instrument (a new patch, not a new channel or anything like that), a Wurlitzer. Once again I assigned my hardware controllers as I wanted them, and was happy with that.
When I saved the concert, and went back to my organ patch, my settings didn't stay the same, but they still work for the Wurli.
My question is this - do I have to have a new concert for each instrument patch I want to use, if I need to assign different controllers for each patch? This would be stupid! If not, what I am doing wrong, that I can only set up one set of hardware controls per concert, instead of per patch?
Thank you in advance for the help!!!

CCTM, thank you! I have a small idea what you mean, but I still can't implement it :-)
    You have some fundamental choices:
    A) If you want to see Drawbar Controls for organ Patches, and then have other types ( knobs/sliders etc) for other Patches, you could simply make all the screen controls you need, then assign and map them as required.
    B) you could simply use drawbar screen controls only and remap them to other parameters for non-organ patches
    C) You could use Smart Controls ( which will update their appearance in a 'smart' way
    D) You could make your own Drawbar type controls using standard faders
The basic process in a 2 part thing:
Assign incoming MIDI messages from your controller to Screen Controls in Layout mode. This is global for concert. Per patch ( or Set or globally for the Concert) you then map the Screen Controls to parameters for each patch as needed.
Smart Control MIDI assignment is done in the Assignments and Mappings pane

  • Logic Pro X inaccessible after waking from sleep when using an MCU Control Surface

I'm having a problem I cannot seem to get around without force quitting Logic every time.  If I have a Control Surface setup as a Mackie Control (v1.0); and if the computer goes to sleep, and then i turn off the controller while the computer is asleep (for any reason), and then wake the computer without turning on the controller first, Logic becomes completely unusable and must be force quit.
My controller in this example is Solid State Logic's Nucleus controller, however it happens with other Mackie Control compatible controllers (i have another one i tested against), BUT not a real Mackie Controller sold by Mackie (i tested with that as well); more details below.
For the SSL controller, Logic automatically sets it up like this:
Now if the computer goes to sleep, and i wake it up, i get the following dialog, which is fine:
After clicking on "Continue" button or hitting the enter key, Logic is rendered useless, as if there is a modal dialog still open somewhere.  Clicking anywhere on the gui results in white flashes and nothing else.  doing cmd+Q to quit actually makes it try to quit (a save dialog appears), but it never does successfully quit, making me resort to force-quitting.  For an example, here's a pic of the file menu at this point:
I also have a regular Mackie Control Unit (MCU Pro) and the strange thing is with that unit, everything works fine after sleep, turning off controller, and re-awakening.  However, there is a difference in what kind of dialog is displayed after the sleep, which probably has something to do with this issue.
Here is the setup screen of the MCU Pro:
And here is the dialog for the missing ports after waking from sleep:
This dialog is completely different than the other control surface's missing ports dialog.  When clicking on "Keep unassigned" here, Logic resumes working fine.
The project is as minimal as possible; nothing is loaded, all that's there is an empty instrument track and a Control Surface configured.
    I'm using a Mac Mini (late 2012)
Processor  2,6 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 4000
    Software  OS X 10.9.4 (13E28)
    with Logic Pro X 10.0.7
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Did you ever figure out a solution to this problem?
I just pulled out my original Emagic Logic Control (MIDI) and I have having the same problem.

  • Midi In/Out and Line Input lowers and twitches?

Iset the line level to 0...and it randomly jumps down and teeters between -7.3 and -7.9...constantly twitches...i can also see the midi in/out on the transport twitching as well...
anyone have any idea whats going on...or more importantly, how to fix it?
    thank you...

Now, it may be that the volume slider of the keyrig - given it is used to control MIDI volume, which i assume - has a bad electric connection. Copperworm plague or something like that. Not that i would say that this is typical for a low end hardware, but you would surely have less trouble with another keyboard. But for now, if the M-Audio still has guarantee, take it back to the dealer to have a look at it. If nothing else works, try disconnecting the volume slider or live with it. Sorry, but i don't know any other solution for now.
    Have a good time!

  • Thinking of Mac + Logic for Live Playback + MIDI

I am in need of a system for playing back pre-recorded backing tracks and controlling Midi Devices (Line 6 box + Harmoniser) during playback The idea is to play my guitar and not have to operate the foot pedals but still have the patch changes at the appopriate time during playback. Is a MAC plus Logic capable of doing this? Does anybody have an opinion on how reliable this setup could be if it is possible?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
      Chris

I've used Logic since 2002 but a new user to Mainstage 2 & as far as I'm aware you control MS2 via midi (footswitch or keys). That may change with future upgrades or maybe possible by using apple scripts.
If you're on a Mac? a great option is Qlabs which is used in live theatre it will cost you about the same.
I'm giving MS 2 a go for rehearsal and if it becomes too much to change settings to keep the show flowing, I'll definitely be getting Qlabs.

  • Topic : Alesis Master Control Problem (to previous post unanswered fixed)

Topic : Alesis Master Control Problem to the original post user: Garrud
Me:111984cz i have an answer to ur problem.i too had the same problem with cubase 5 ,Nuendo 4 and any of Steinberg softwares with the alesis master-control studio interface. i hope u run into this to learn my fix.
the problem is check ur midi input on your actual track.make sure it says to (master-control midi port) and not (all midi inputs).as for your device manager settings set to (master-control port) don't set your midi to all or master control port as it will interfere .now it will work perfect.this is for all who have the same problem as well.hope this helps many as i spend a lot of hours of trouble shooting.i almost thought there was something wrong with my mixer.have a great day guys!!
    Original post:
I've installed the MasterControl driver as instructed and followed the logic set up instructions provided with the MC and all that seems to happen is the Controller acts as a midi keyboard playing different notes rather than the intended function.
e.g if i touch one of the faders it plays a high pitched note and if i move the fader it acts like the note is being pitched, like a pitch bend function on a keyboard.
Very strange...cannot figure out whats going on
    PLEASE HELP I'M GOING INSANE
MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.6.4)

I too had the same problem and resolved it.
However, I have had nothing but issues with the Alesis Mastercontrol since it arrived last week. I purchased mine second-hand as a replacement to a Fire-Wire / Analogue mixer made by Mackie (Onyx 1220). A fantastic amp, but not a control surface.
I decided I wanted an all rounder, plus something I could place in-front of my iMac so I could work on the fly.
    So...
    1) Alesis Mastercontrol
    2) 1 x Rode microphone in Ch1
    3) 1 x Rode microphone in Ch2
    4) Peavey guitar in Ch3
I use Logic Studio Pro 8.
I finally figured out how to get the Alesis to behave and interact with Logic. So far so good!
I then ran into a series of issues that are frustrating me.
I cannot get the microphones to mute properly (I would also complain about the poorly position gain dials at the back of the unit for the microphones. So poor indeed that I have purchased an Art mic preamp to slap into the back (not arrived yet) and by-pass the rear controls).
I also cannot get my semi-acoustic Peavey to record at all. I can hear it through the control desk, but it is much lower than expected and I am getting nothing when I try to record). In record mode the pair of mics record and I can't get the 3rd channel to operate, although it looks like it's functioning on the screen. I try MUTE / SOLO and selecting the correct channel, but nothing!
All I can do is record myself playing guitar through the mics I cannot switch off.
Strange machine! Almost wishing I'd not sold my Mackie Onyx 1220 so swiftly.

  • Possible to use Mackie Logic Control to control volume faders in MainStage

Hi, is it possible to get Mackie Logic Control to work with the volume faders of the various channel strips in MainStage. Is seems Mackie Control is automatically mapped when using Logic - but MainStage doesn't seem to automatically map faders unless I am missing something. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, I installed 'Midi Monitor' and when I slide the 'Master Volume' fader on the Mackie Control, Midi Monitor reports the following:

  • Controlling logic with evolution uc-33

hi there. i work with logic express, basically, and i have an evolution uc33 controller. i have tried to configure making an environment but it was practically impossible to get what i want, or the environment concept is very difficult to me. maybe if i have a supported control surface....
the fact is, i have downloaded a template from m-audio site that they recommend to use under logic pro and express, it works fine, but, when i am using this template i can not control midi out/in of the uc33, wich i also use as midi usb interface. that is, if i wanna mix audio tracks with the knobs and faders of the uc33, works ok, but if i wanna to use the midi capabilities of the uc33 it does not work.....
any help or suggestion ??? thanks and greetings from barcelona.
    fernando.

Thanks for responding and telling me about the LC Xmu! I have installed the demo and after spending some time, it seems to be working. I've managed to get the volume faders to directly correspond to the volume faders on screen, which is 90% of all I want to do. But how do I make them map only to specific output channel strips? I can't seem to change the order or reassign the mapping of faders. I am working with a multi-track project with lots of layers, so I have several layers corresponding to each channel strip output. I've been pouring over the manual from both LC Xmu and Soundtrack Pro and I still haven't resolved it. I appreciate the feedback.
    Thanks!

  • I want to trigger samples or tracks in GB 08 with a midi foot controller

I am trying to utilize my macbook with GB08 to keep my investment low for mow. I am thinking of purchasing a midi foot controller like the Roland FC300 or the Behringer FCB1010 to trigger playing of tracks during a live performance. These sounds that I want to trigger are mostly keyboard/synth/horn parts.
How can I do this? I know I will need to also purchase a midi to usb interface. Is this possible?
Our guitar player has cubase that we could load onto the macbook. Will this work better?
Please help me out here. Looking to fill out our sound - Classic rock cover band - bass, guitar, drums, & a singer. We have given up on finding a decent & reliable key player.
    Thanks!

    Hello.
I don't have Amplitude. But with NI GuitarRig I do like this:
    1. Select an AUDIO track. Set the input of the track to match the incoming (clean) signal from your guitar.
Set an appropriate recording level on your audio interface (Like -10 to -6 db on the peaks).
Turn down the volume on the AUDIO track.
    2. Select an AUDIO INSTRUMENT track. In the instrument pop-up-menu select "AU Midi controlled FX", and then select Guitar RIg2 MFX (Hopefully you will find Amplitude here).
    3. Read the manual and learn how to route midi from your "Ground Control MIDI foot controller" to the Amplitude Plug-in.
    4. Near the top on your Plug-in window you will find the Side Chain Button. Press, Hold and select the input of incoming signal from your guitar. (The same input as in step 1).
You should now hear you guitar playing thru your plug-in and you should be able to midi-control whatever you want.
    To make a recording:
    5. Let the AUDIO INSTRUMENT track remain selected. SHIFT-Click the rec-button on the AUDIO track (I have to click twice to get both the channel and the button selected).
    6. Record (and don't forget to use your midi controler).
    7. You will now have an audio recording with your clean guitar signal on the AUDIO track + a recording with the mididata on the AUDIO INSTRUMENT track.
    To hear the recording:
    8. Go to your Plug-in window Side Chain Button. Change the input to match the track where you just recorded the clean guitar signal.
    9. Listen and Enjoy
    10. Please tell me there is an easier way to do this.
    Good Luck,
    Orjan

  • Period Control Method 01 and 03 Mid Month Convention

    Hi All,
I am trying to create two different depreciation keys.
One is with Period rule 01 i.e Pro rata at period start date. Example. If I create an asset any time during the month, the ordinary start depreciation should start at the beginning of the month.
    Example:
I created an asset that was capitalized 5/18. For book depreciation the start date should be 5/1 and for tax it should be 5/15. Both of the areas are showing 5/15. have i missed something?

    Issue Resolved
    Steps:
    1. In transaction OAVS define a new Per control (Z1).
    2. In transaction OAVH create the following: My fiscal year is from Aug-July
    3. Update transaction AFAMP, create a new period control method and assign it Z1/Z1/Z1/Z1
    4. Finally update the period control in the book depreciation key AFAMP.
