Period Lock in COPA

Hello friends
Hope all is well.
Can anyone please clarify me whether there is a similar transaction in COPA & PCA, like OB52(FI), OKP1(CO) so that we can lock users from posting to previous periods (in COPA & PCA).
I can't think of any.. can anyone help please..?

We faced this problem yesterday in our client's system.
1. In OB52, all transactions in FI was locked for December 2006.
2. In OKP1, all transactions in CO is locked for December 2006.
3. In MMPV, MM period is locked with previous period posting not allowed. Current period is January 2007.
But, still one credit memo against one return order got posted in costing based PA. The return delivery for the same is posted in January 2007. So, no issue in MM and FI posting. But, only COGS got posted (For delivery) at the time of billing (Billing date was 28th December 2006).
All reported figures changed. What is the way out. There should be a lock in PA.
As of now, we can post to PA in any previous period.
Is there any way out???

Since last week when we try to update a PO anr SO we got this Message
PERIODE LOCKED FOR NEW DATA.
For exemple we change the remark feild only and we got this message.
Since PO and SO are not impacting any gl entry this is not normal. on the DEMO DB i can update a SO or PO when the perio is close without any problem

First you have to change if your posting perioud is close.
if close then choose your posting perioud then in your window left side a sign of triangle click on.
after change ur status and after u are able to do changes in previous posting perioud.

CO-period lock for planning on company code level

Hello,
I would like to ask you for assistence.
We would like to have the possiblity to lock the CO-periods on company code levels. For actual values, it is possible to arrange this within the validation. However, for plan values the validation is not active.
I have read about possibility to enhance an user exit for paritcular planning transactions (KP06, KP26 etc.), but I can't find it anymore.
Does anybody from you have experience with this, eventually is there another option?

I have had a similiar problem and contact to remote consulting from SAP. They offered a modification (10-15 days if I remember correctly) to make CO period lock company code depending.
If I remember correctly, his name was Valentin (in Germany).
However: if newGL is active with real-time integration and also plan transfer, I think it should be possible to lock in FI.

Problem with period lock OKP1

Hi all,
I locked period in Tcode OKP1 for all transaction
However, transaction in 9KE0 is not locked yet
I don't know why. Can anybody help me?

Hi,
thathere is no possibility to lock periods / posting transactions in PCA (including distributions), because PCA should be always open for postings. It is designed to be the receiving application of data delivered by the preliminary applications like FI, MM and CO. Therefore period locks must be handled / maintained in those applications. In PCA, there are only two possibilities to prevent postings to profit centers:
1. is to completely lock profit centers in the master data via transaction KE52 (tab 'Indicators' -> activate 'Lock indicator'.
Please read also the F1-help here for the field 'Lock indicator')
2. to lock one complete fiscal year in the entire Profit-Center Accounting via transaction 1KEF.
There are two exceptions for that which are provided for transactions 1KEL and 9KE0 by SAP notes 836218 & 436384. As in these notes described, you can block periods via using FI-SL periode-block, but only for manual posting.

Periodic valuation (02) COPA

Hi Experts!
I m using point of valuation 02 (periodic valuation) to populate results in COPA on the base of modified cost estimate to get updated ROH & VERP Cost. Now i m going to activate material ledger, where the same point of valuation would be used to populate actual cost (periodic rate) in COPA. But the restriction is that, i can only assign value fields for one strategy, i.e. for modified cost estimate as i mentioned above.
My question is, can i use same point of valuation (02) to populate the results in different value fields for modified cost estimate and periodic rate (actual cost).

As far as I know, in the standard system its not possible... You want to post revaluated COGS based on 2 separate cost estimates into separate set of value fields each time...
As you rightly said, the Costing keys, VF Assignment can all be done at the level of PV = 02... After seeing your case, I feel there should have been an option of including Valuation Strategy as well in KE4J/KEPC, KE4U etc
The only way I see is to use exit COPA0002 and see if you can achieve the desired result... i.e. for PV=02, assign a Userexit in KE4U and from there you can try achieving your desired result

BDC or BAPI for Actual period Locking

I have to deveop the SE38 program with a selection screen which should contain following fields.
1) Controlling Area
2) Fiscal period,
3) Fiscal year
4) Version,
5) Actual/Plan
6) Lock/Unlock
7) Business transaction.
My requirement is if user creates a variant by giving proper values and runs the job, it should lock the given the business transactions.Functionally this task will be done by functional people in OKP1 transaction code (CO-Controlling.)
Please suggest me if any BAPI is there and shall I go ahead with BDC.
The problem if i go with BDC is, some times user may scroll down the table control depending on the given values. So how to satisfy this condition.

I know this is an old post, but in case someone else comes across it while searching for a solution to this same problem (as I did), Sanjeev Kumar has written a document, Automate Period Opening in SAP which, among other things, discusses using report RKCOOKP1 (Set Period Locks in Batch) to set or delete period locks in controlling (OKP1). In addition to scheduling a job for RKCOOKP1 as the document demonstrates, you could also call RKCOOKP1 programmatically with SUBMIT report ... AND RETURN.

Ipod classic periodically locks up.

ipod classic periodically locks up. It does it while charging, syncing and playing. Could it be the battery or something else? The battery is also not wanting to charge properly.

CO period locked - can we unlock period and do COPA assessment?

Hi Friends,
CO period has been locked for last month, but some of the cost center assessment to COPA has not been carried out last month, resulting in amount lying in cost center itself.
Could you please let me know whether we can unlock last month in CO through OKP1 and perform CC assessment to COPA now through KEU5? What impact or issue it would create if we unlock and perform COPA assessment now.

Hi,
That's purely dependent on your business requirements. If the client wants to keep the period closed as he already published the financial figures, he might not be happy of having some updates afterwards. So, every opening of the period should be authorized by him. There are no technical aspects in this issue.

Try out T code - MMRV, it will help you to open previous closed posting period.
Or check,
whether there is any authorization mantained for that.
Check thru :
set authorization to users who are allowed to change the status (authorization >>> Administration >>> system Initialization >>> Posting Period >>> change period status)
2) authorization to users who are allowed to change the status (authorization >>> General >>> Period Status: Unlocked Except Sales or Period Status: Closing Period)
3) Change kinds of date in detail of posting period to meet your requirement.

OKP1 - period lock on company code level

Hi all,
I wonder if anybody can help me with this issue.
Is there an alternative transaction (or any other way) to OKP1 for locking period only on company code level?
In standard, OKP1 locks on controlling area level.
The only way which comes on my mind is to set a new validation rule.

we are very interested in this issue.
For our project we also plan to have an assignment from 7 company codes to one controlling area and we also want to control the closing by company code.
Now we read your thread about this issue and try to work out how you have designed the validation step (OKC7) to check if one business transaction is only allowed for postings in a single/specific company code at the time.

E1000 periodically locks up, have to reboot

Got my last question answered, asking another ... periodically, my E1000 router locks up and I lose Internet connectivity until I unplug the router's power cord, wait for 10 seconds or so, then plug it back in and let it restart. This seems to be triggered (a.) when I land on a web page with intensive graphics, etc., that takes a while to load, or (b.) if I launch a web page really quickly while another one already is up. it doesn't just happen spontaneously when I'm working on the computer. This computer I'm working on is old and slow, which is why as per my earlier inquiry about having to reconfigure the router and network , I'm looking at changing to an up to date and faster model. I just updated to the latest firmware, probably a week or so ago, but the router was doing this before then and still is doing it now. Any ideas what might be going on, or any setting tweaks I might need to do, to stop this from happening?

You mentioned in the post that you upgraded the firmware of the router. So after upgrading the firmware did you reset the router? Since, after successful firmware upgrade you need to reset the Router. It is recommended to reset the router once. Steps to reset the router:
Push the reset button on router for 30 seconds, turn off the router wait for 30 seconds and then power it on. Power light should blink when you perform the reset process.
After reset, reconfigure the router and then check the connectivity status..

Start/End Periods - locks period on webform but can still lock and send?

I've setup a forecast period in planning with the start period May FY13 and end period Dec FY13 and tested as a test user.
In the webform - this works perfectly, only may:dec are avaliable for write access.
If i replicated the webform exactly as a lock and send, it will let me load to jan:apr... My users aren't ready to move to smartview yet, so any advice on how to lock them out will be great.

K9A Platinum - Periodic lock up

Hey folks,
New to this forum and MSI boards in general. Having an issue where my PC is locking up periodically in XP (32 bit) that I can't quite figure out. Initially after performing a fresh install of XP my machine locked up occasionally while unattended. Basically it seemed that if I walked away for 5-15 minutes, when i'd come back it would have locked up (while running windows update, for example).
After being sure I had installed all the drivers (and updating to the latest bios) I could find for the motherboard, including AMD's dual core optimizer, this problem seemed to have been resolved - until last evening. I ran a torrent program and again, after leaving the PC unattended for a few minutes, it locked up. This happens like clockwork when using either Burst! or uTorrent.
Any suggestions?

ONLY thing important is amps per rail! 3 rails with each 18a doesn't mean you have 54a total! They can't be simply added as the component using one rail can't use another when the used one doesn't provide enough power. That's why a strong single rail is the best to have.
