I'm customizing the EC-CS and I need to use the Periodic Extract Method for one company, the problem is that I don't know what to do it, I always customized Real Time Update method. If case someone has documentation about it and could send me I will appreciate.

I read the documentation from SAP, and I also customized the system but when I perform the report RFBILA00 and try to create a file in presentation server but the system doesn't create the file, I don't know if be missing anything. Could you give a help?

Periodic extract or Rollup on ECCS

Hi collegues,
We need to make a decision about the most suitable transfer method from FI (new) to ECCS. Both modules are managed on the same system and client so integrated data collection it is possible, and as our users do not want u201CRealtime updateu201D method, we have to choose between Rollup and Periodic Extract.
We do not manage nor business areas neither profit centers so only company consolidation (trading partner) is on the scope.
Which should we choose if the operational chart of accounts is similar to the group chart of accounts? And if not?

We have finally decided to choose Periodic Extract to have GLT3 table filled.
Afterwards, we'll use flexible upload on EC-CS for the previously generated file on FI (TX. F.01).
I hope this information will help someone in the future.

Period Control Method 01 and 03 Mid Month Convention

Hi All,
I am trying to create two different depreciation keys.
One is with Period rule 01 i.e Pro rata at period start date. Example. If I create an asset any time during the month, the ordinary start depreciation should start at the beginning of the month.
Secondly another deprecation key with period rule 03 i.e. prorata at mid period. Meaning that the ordinary start deprecation date should be from 15 of the month.
I activate the " Use of Half Months in the Company Code" then the deprecation key with prorata at period start date is behaving like pro rata at mid period.
Example:
I created an asset that was capitalized 5/18. For book depreciation the start date should be 5/1 and for tax it should be 5/15. Both of the areas are showing 5/15. have i missed something?

Issue Resolved
Steps:
1. In transaction OAVS define a new Per control (Z1).
2. In transaction OAVH create the following: My fiscal year is from Aug-July
3. Update transaction AFAMP, create a new period control method and assign it Z1/Z1/Z1/Z1
4. Finally update the period control in the book depreciation key AFAMP.

How to find the extraction method of a datasource?

Hi,
On a review of some documents on SDN, regarding how to track where data is coming from to BW, there was this helpful quote.
Just knowing what is the extraction method of a datasource and our search of the origins achieves a vast improvement!
So, through se11, ROOSOURCE gave some details including the include ROEXTRACT.
from here, I am getting stuck, se16 and se11 are not helping.
How do I move from the information on this screen to see, for example, the extraction method for a datasource 2LIS_11_VAITM

I followed the instruction i.e. in ROOSURCE then Contents...
but when I enter the datasource 2LIS_11_VAITM in hoipes to see the corresponding Delta Process for this datasource, I get a message
"... No table entries found for specified key"
what does this mean, knowing that thie datasource exists.

Periodic Extract from FAGLFLEXT - NewGL ?

Hi everyone,
we are implementing a BCS system and want to transfer the totals from a migrated NewGL-System. Migration has been done to the beginning of this year, the old GL ist still for comparison reasons active.
In the confuguration of the NewFL, the Consolidation-Scenario is active.
For reasons of transparency, we wanted to use the periodic extract with target BCS as source for our totals.
When I try to create the extract in the RFBILA00, I get the error, that no ledger for the consolidation has been assigned - just as it does, if the GLT3 is not assigned.
Any Idea, how to make the report read data from FAGLFLEXT ?

Well, the business partner it's being updated fine, at least for current year movements...
You told me you treated the files after extracting them but I must say that I do not find enought information on it to separate the balances between current year and previous years: there are three colums for figures transaction, local and group balance, all of them with the same figure...
How do you manage to do so?

Hi
What extraction method should be used to extract data from HR module.
Is there any site which can guide us to start a project from scratch.
For eg want to start with pulling up HR data and create reports. So how do i start with it.

Dear Lokesh and all other of the community,
I have now my solution for delta extraction of a generic data source. FM RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE and as well RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA is not working for me, as they are not including delta function. My solution is based on FM RSVD_BW_GET_DELTA_DATA. Here are the steps:
1) Copy RSVD_BW_GET_DELTA_DATA and change to your purpose the ranges, the extract strukture, the z-extract-table (including field TSTMP) and the z-extract-view (not including field TSTMP).
2) Create a new generic datasource with RSO2. Choose extraction via FM and enter FM ZRSVD_BW_GET_DELTA_DATA and z-extract-table.
3) Change in table ROOSOURCE the EXMETHOD from F2 to F1, DELTA the from AIM to CUBE and the EXTRACTOR to the z-extract-view.
NOTE: You will now get the error message "Table is not existing" RJ403 in Transaction RSO2. - this has no effect. Use transaction RSA2 to check your settings.
This solution is working to:
first: do the initial load of all data -> after this the delta queue is created in RSA7
second: do the delta load of all new data -> based on the timestamp, means all data with timestamp after the last load, also changed and new data -> you see the last timestamp of delta transfer in tabel ROBWQTSTAT

I'm new to BI
Can anyone please explain me the different datasource extraction methods ( like F1, F2... ) and tell me its significance.
I read some threads which tells the difference about the simple and complete interface.
I'm not getting a clear picture on it.

Extract method tool deletes my comments

I have Jdeveloper 9.0.3, now I'm trying to use the extract method tool and works fine but some of the code that I shade to use with the tool contains several comments, and when the tool finish the execution my comments was deleted, Why? any ideas?, maybe some configuration???

Extract Method KILLS comments!

The built-in refactoring tool "Extract Method" kills the comments of the extracted code.
It kills "//" as well as "/*" type comments.
What a nasty bug!
The JDev version is 9.0.3.1035 (the production release).

Task hierarchy - period specific methods.

Dear Experts,
We have two data collection (flexi upload )methods one is specific to non quarter period & another is specific for Quarterly periods & I want to assign period specific methods for a task. If this task is executed in non quarter months it need to pick non quarter flexi method Like for non quarter periods 1,2,4,5,7,8,10,11and for quarterly periods like 3,6,9,12 another method
Is there any possibility?

I agree with Gregoire.
Some more information that can be helpful:
1. Create period category gruop e.g. 10 - 'Months&Quarters'
2. In this period category gruop create two period category e.g. 101 - 'Month other than quarter' and 102 - Quarter other than month'
3. For period category 101 set checkboxes for periods 1,2,4,5,7,8,10,11 and for period category 102 periods 3,6,9,12
4. Create one consolidation frequency, e.g. 500 - All months (for all period 1-12)
5. Create one task and assign cons. frequency. Choose period category 101 and assign data collection method for this periods then choose period category 102 and assign data collection method for quarters.
6. Save your changes
It usually works without problems.

Periodic extract from RFBILA00 - Balance Sheet tx.

Hi all,
I'm trying to extract the periodic extract file from GLT3 table using Tx. F.01 for BSheet but after selecting all the entries and also entering that the logical file name to store in the presentation server should be ECCS_FILE I can not manage to get any file (and system doesn' populate any error message)
I have found the following paths:
ECCS_PATH
FI-LC_EXTRACT
FILC_DOWNLOAD
FILC_EXTRACT
FLEXIBLE_UPLOAD
SEMBCS_FILE
These seem to be related to consolidation (FILC, ECCS and SEMBCS) but I must say that i do not manage to get any file.
I must also say that I'm using ECCS-PATH for the import into ECCS of the flexible upload files sent from another ERP. Could it be due to I should use another path for periodic extract?

it's been my fault. I finally got the key: There must be selected the output to "Classic List".
But now I have another problem because my FI account has assigned a group account but on the extracted file only the FI account is informed. I must say that there can be an issue due to we are working on the New GL and for public sector, so the totals table is FMGLFLEXT. I'm not sure the system will support any other table but GLT0 or FAGLFLEXT...
On tx. OB13 the Group chart of account is assigned to the operative one.
On tx. OB58 exist a Group BSEstatatement where also Group ChAcc is assigned.
On FS00 all the operative accounts have their group account...
I thought It could be due to I run tx. CXNV to populate the balances form FI to GLT3 but did not select "Read from master data"and reread "transaction type", but I did another text flagging them and GLT3 remains the same and so does the extract file... is there any way a could reverse all the entries on GLT3?

You can create it from RSO2 -> transactional datasource> Here you need to give the Extract structure and name of the Function module...
Before above process you need to Build up a structure (It contains all the fields of your extraction called as extract structue),Byusing this structure in Function module you can code(Use template RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE)....
Don't forget to assign points,If it is useful..

API Help -- Extract method results in Catstrophic failure!

We're trying to implement the HFM api to pull data out into a CSV. When we run HsvData.Extract, the call returns an exception:
Catastrophic failure (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED))
I'm not sure what this means and I can't find any help on the 'net. Our extract call looks like:
