Periodic Report genration in Weblogic server using Oracle database and EJB3

Hello All,
I have to generate reports periodically, when periodicity for report generation is inserted into database(Oracle 11g in my case) using EJB3 entity bean from application server(Weblogic 11g). Immediately on insertion i have to start generation reports in csv format and save these files into the application server directory. My application server and Database are running on different machine.

Okay, good luck with that. When you have an actual programming problem, feel free to come back and ask for help.

    You might use the UTL_FILE-Package to create a file on the database server. But you must be aware of the following fact : UTL_FILE_DIR parameter must be set on the instance level pointing to the directory where you write the files on. The files will be owned by user "oracle".

    The host name is the name or IP address of the machine running Oracle.
    The port number is the port the DBMS is listening on for connection requests.

  • How to make integrated weblogic server use log4j

    I use Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6, WL 10.3 on Win7. JDK 1.6.0.3x64
    I tried to configure for 1 day during according to guides and informations on net. But i can not make it works unfortunately. Just after i start wls, encountered this:

    I followed up basically through those links log4j Configuration in Standalone Weblogic Server - ADF and http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15051_01/wls/docs103/logging/config_logs.html#using_log4j
    I changed Logging implementation as Log4j from JDK: http://www.2hotfile.com/image.php?di=72YU
    I created log4j.xml file under my %DOMAINHOME%\config : http://www.2hotfile.com/image.php?di=JHLI
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?><!DOCTYPE log4j:configuration SYSTEM "log4j.dtd">
    <log4j:configuration>
    <appender name="CONSOLE" class="org.apache.log4j.ConsoleAppender">
    <param name="Threshold" value="INFO"/>
    <layout class="org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout">
    <param name="ConversionPattern"
    value="%d{ABSOLUTE} %-5p [%c{1}] %m%n"/>
    </layout>
    </appender>
    <appender name="FILE" class="org.apache.log4j.DailyRollingFileAppender">
    <param name="File" value="/log/daily.log"/>
    <param name="Append" value="false"/>
    <!-- Rollover at midnight each day -->
    <param name="DatePattern" value="'.'yyyy-MM-dd"/>
    <layout class="org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout">
    <param name="ConversionPattern" value="%d %-5p [%c] %m%n"/>
    </layout>
    </appender>
    <logger name="org.apache">
    <level value="WARN"/>
    </logger>
    <root>
    <level value="DEBUG"/>
    <appender-ref ref="FILE"/>
    <!-- <appender-ref ref="CONSOLE"/> -->
    </root>
    </log4j:configuration>
    i copied log4j.jar, wllog.jar into my %DOMAINHOME%\lib : http://www.2hotfile.com/image.php?di=BYB3
    Even i copied commons-logging-1.0.4.jar and com.bea.core.weblogic.commons.logging_1.4.0.0.jar files into the lib folder and then i set CLASSPATH accordingly, result was negative.
    I added these lines into startWeblogic.cmd
    @REM customized here for log4j
    set LOG4J_CONFIG_FILE=%DOMAIN_HOME%\config\log4j.xml
    set SAVE_JAVA_OPTIONS=%JAVA_OPTIONS% -Dweblogic.log.Log4jLoggingEnabled=true -Dlog4j.debug -Dlog4j.configuration=%LOG4J_CONFIG_FILE%
    set SAVE_CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%DOMAIN_HOME%\config;
    Additionally, i have tried adding log4j.jar into sysyem classpath becuse of classloading problem suspicion: http://www.2hotfile.com/image.php?di=7Y3N after view this link http://www.coderanch.com/t/479763/BEA-Weblogic/Log-Weblogic-ClassNotFoundException
    Thanks in advance...

    I resolved the exception; Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 was setted up on my pc as well. That was the cause of problem. System was looking some paths on 11.1.1.4 server folders that belong to 11.1.14 version.
    Now, created server log which i defined in log4j.xml but no log line found in file, nothing logged according to log4j.xml config file and wls still writes its own log into its own log file which is under $domain_home$\servers\DefaultServer\logs\DefaultServer.log. What might be the reason?

  • Deployment of reports 9i in weblogic server

    anybody help me
    we develop a application in java, the middle tier is weblogic server 6.1 and database is Oracle.8.1.7 and
    reports 6i, we want to migrate from oracle 8.1.7 to oracle 9.2 and reports from 6i to repors 9i.
    as i understand that reports9i deploy in oracle 9iAS, jsp files compiled by mod_oc4j to produce the java class files in Oracle 9iAS. is it possible to deploy the reports 9i in weblogic server 6.1. to get the jsp files to java class files,if possible what is the mechanism to use.
    regards,
    BhanuPrakash

    Hello BhanuPrakash,
    The Reports Team is currenlty looking on a 'J2EE Reports Client', we will have a better response in about a month.
    note: by 'looking', I mean that we are investigate how the customer can
    call reports services from a 3rd party app server - HOWEVER they will still
    need to purchase AND install iAS EE (ie they will not be able to just
    install reports, but they could install ias on another box).

  • How to access an External LDAP on a weblogic server using OPSS APIs.

    Hi,
    Can anyone let me know how I can access an External LDAP configured on a weblogic server using OPSS APIs( or alternative APIs).
    I'm currently using the below snippet and I'm getting only the Users and groups from the DefaultAutheticator on the weblogic server and not the external LDAP Server.
    I've verified the providers, users and groups on the weblogic server console and can see that external LDAP server content is being picked, but my below code does not query them.
    import oracle.security.idm.IMException;
    import oracle.security.idm.IdentityStore;
    import oracle.security.idm.Role;
    import oracle.security.jps.JpsContext;
    import oracle.security.jps.JpsContextFactory;
    import oracle.security.jps.JpsException;
    import oracle.security.jps.service.idstore.IdentityStoreService;
    List<Role> rowData = null;
    JpsContextFactory ctxf = JpsContextFactory.getContextFactory();
    JpsContext ctx = ctxf.getContext();
    IdentityStoreService storeService = ctx.getServiceInstance(IdentityStoreService.class);
    IdentityStore idStore = storeService.getIdmStore();
    rowData = this.getRoles(idStore, "*");
    Any help or pointers are highly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Can anyone please provide any suggestions. I trying to google around but still not able to find any solution.

  • Starting WebLogic Server using Console

    This is a simple question. I am trying to start the WebLogic Server
    using the WebLogic Console. It seems to be starting the wrong WebLogic
    server.
    When I monitor the log information in the console I see it starts the
    server with a 32ms and a 32mx whereas in my startWebLogic.sh script I
    have specified 128ms and 128mx. How do I make my startconsole.sh script
    read the correct startWebLogic.sh script ? This is on solaris.
    When I ran the script startWebLogic.sh it was able to start up
    completely.
    Thanks.

    Ted,
    Thanks for the reply. Just another question on this-I have added a lot of jar files to the
    WEBLOGICCLASSPATH in my startWebLogic.sh script. I presume since I am starting the server using the
    console I need to add this information(the WEBLOGICCLASSPATH variable) to the startConsole.sh script
    and try running the server again.
    Currently its reporting that its unable to find the server classes which I wrote.

    Aswin,
    Sorry for the confusion. When you start the server in the console, you get a dialog window. There
    is a button labled "Advanced..." Click on that and set the "Java Heap (MB)" to 128. That will do
    what you want it to.

    Aswin,
    Did you edit your startConsole.sh? The last line in that file should set your ms and mx.
    It should say something like:
    $JAVA -ms16m -mx48m -classpath $JAVACLASSPATH weblogic.Console
    Changing the ms and mx values here should have the affect you're looking for.

  • Periodic Importing of data from SQL Server into Oracle Database

    I would like to know how I can use the SQL Developer tool to import data from a SQL Server database across the internet into an Oracle Database on a periodic basis? I understand there is a Migration Workbench, but it seems to be only a one off activity.
    What I would really like is to be able to import data for example, very 30 minutes from multiple tables/views in a SQL Server Database into an Oracle Database (overwriting or modifying existing same data) without the need for Heterogeneous Connectivity, as my Oracle Database is not my LAN.
    Thank you for your kind ideas and suggestions.

    To be honest the best way to do it is DG4ODBC or DG4MSQL. All other solutions need manual interaction.
    The gateways DG4ODBC and DG4MSQL are independant from the Oracle database and also from the SQL Server location. In a worst case scenario you have an Oracle database on machine A, the gateway on machine B and the SQL Server on machine C.
    Gateways were built to exactly do what you want. As you have access to the Oracle database the only part you need to define within the Oracle database is a db link. If you specify the full tns connect identifier there is even no need to edit the tnsnames.ora file.
    Even if you excluded the gateway in your last sentence the best solution would be the gateway.
    Another option you can use is the SQL Server linked server mechanism. It allows you to link another server using OLEDB driver. In your case you can then link the Oracle db into your SQL Server and then insert/update/delete and select Oracle tables from the SQL Server. Using now a trigger will replicate the data immediately to the Oracle db.

  • [Blog] Using VMware vROPs to monitor Oracle Database and WebLogic.  Management Pack for Oracle EM, Hyperic Plugins, or Both?

    This blog post provides a suggested methodology for helping users of VMware vROps/vCOps decide which of the existing solutions, the vROps Management Pack for Oracle EM and the VMware vROps Hyperic Plugins for Oracle, should be used to monitor their Oracle workloads.
    It’s been a nearly a year since VMware transferred the vCOps Adapter for Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) to Blue Medora and since that transfer Blue Medora has released a number of major updates as well as rebranded it the Blue Medora vROps Management Pack for Oracle EM. Over that same period of time VMware has continued to evolve their Oracle-focused (Oracle Database and WebLogic J2EE) Hyperic agent-based plugins culminating most recently with a October 2014 update to the Oracle Database plugin that provides support for Oracle Database 12c.

  • Upload a jar file in remote Weblogic server using wlst

    Is there a way to upload a jar file to a specific location on remote weblogic server using wlst? This is my scenario - I need to upload aspectjweaver.jar to the remote server. This needs to be done before weblogic startup, as weaving takes place during startup . FTP is not an option because those ports are blocked

    Hi,
    You don't have such option through upload files as what FTP do but you can deploy the application through wlst.
    eg:
    deploy('Web14','C:/TEMP/Web14.war',targets='Cluster1',stageMode='stage',upload='true',remote='true')
    Or you can use Deploy option to deploy app directly.
    eg:
    java weblogic.Deployer -adminurl http://localhost:7001
    -username weblogic -password weblogic
    -deploy ./myapp.ear -id myDeployment
    This will upload file and place the file there from there you can manipulate the file.
    Hope this will work for you.

  • Connecting to Oracle 8.0.3 server using Oracle 10.1.0 client

    I was wondering if it was possible to connect to a oracle 8.0 or oracle 8.1 server using oracle 10.1 client.
    I have tried connecting to oracle 8.0.3 and it gives me an error saying "connections to this server are no longer supported."

    If updating your Oracle Database isn't an option, then you can have 2 different clients installed (in different "Oracle Homes" (or directories), and use the selecthome.bat file to switch between your installed clients.
    For example, before connecting to 8i, you'd run:
    C:\Oracle\Client1_8i\bin\selecthome.bat
    or this to use your Oracle 10g client:
    C:\Oracle\Client2_10g\bin\selecthome.bat
