Periodics TDMS executions

Is it possible to schedule TDMS executions (refresh copy) without human intervention for periodic copies?
Thanks

No that functionality is currently not available in TDMS 3.0. You have to manually set up a refresh package and execute it.

  • TDMS execution for CRM

    Hi Folks,
I got a query related to TDMS execution for CRM. As per the operations guide available at Service Market Place, TDMS supports the following components:
As of Release TDMS 3.0, SP13, SAP TDMS supports the following components
     SAP ERP (Basis Releases: 4.6C, 6.20, 6.40, 7.00)
 SAP BI (BI 3.5 u2013 Basis Release 6.40; BI 7.0 part of NetWeaver 7.0)
     SAP CRM 4.0 (Basis Release 6.20); CRM 5.0 (Basis Release 6.40); CRM 6.0 (Basis Release 7.00); CRM 7.0 (Basis Release 7.00)
But my system is at CRM 5.0 on Basis Relase 7.0. If I execute TDMS time reduction scenario will there be any problem with data consistency. Can anyone tell me if TDMS supports my CRM test system. Appreciate your quick response.
    Thanks,
    Gowtham.

    Hello Gowtham,
CRM 5.0 requires a Basis release of 6.40 or higher for using TDMS .

  • TDMS 3.0 Installation

    Hi Folks,
I'm new to TDMS. We are going to install it in our systems. Till now what i bag the info regarding TDMS is like
    Eg:   Central/Control system  = TDMS
            Sender System             =  ECC 6.0
Receiver                        = Solution Manager ( I'm Not sure of the version )
OS is Windows 2008 R2 :   DB is MS Sql 2008
I refered so many guides regarding TDMS Installation in SMP . Its bit confusing for me.
Can any TDMS Gurus please eloborate the process how to start from first to last. Or else is there any step by step
    TDMS 3.0 Installation
    Thanks & Regards
    Raghu

    Hi Raghu,
    Please find the answers below:
    1. What is the impact on both the servers ?
-> There's no impact as such. TDMS will transfer the data from the sender to the receiver system using RFC connections.
There will be jobs scheduled on both these servers.
    2. Will it create the RFC Connections automatically ?? Or do we need to be done in manually ?
-> For TDMS execution, you need to create and sepcify the RFC destination using activity "define RFC settings" in "Technical Settings" phase of TDMS process tree.
    3. Insted of doing shell creation we take an export from sender , can we import it into reciver system ??
-> The main pre-requisite of TDMS is to have same repository on sender and receiver side.
We recommend to use TDMS shell creation or System copy to bring the repository in synch.
If you can do so by import and export method, it should be ok.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi all
I'm new with TDMS, I run MDC if I start conversion we have some Dumps in our Sender system missing authority SCP2 ...
if these a bug or do i have some mistake -> for go forward i gave me more permission but it is interesting too for me
    Thanks in advance

Refer to TDMS master guide and the TDMS security guide to know about the roles and authorizations required in all the system in the landscape for TDMS execution.

  • Shell Creation Modify Control Files with Exclude Table Information  Step er

I am try to create Shell using TDMS  I  am gettingbelow error while executing step Modify Control Files with Exclude Table Information.
I am getting error saying that    //No such file or direcroty  Message no.: CNV_TDMS_13_SHELL000
I am using NFS common mount as my install directory between CI & DB, please can you help me.
    Please can help me.
    Thanks
    Ramesh

It appears that the directory for shell installation is not accessible from CI (TDMS execution server). Do the following -
Copy the entire Shell installation directory (having TPL files) temporarily to the CI app. server and maintain the path of this directory in the TDMS package.
Then execute the activity which is currently failing. Most probably it will finish successfully.
Now copy the DDLORA.TPL file from this directory to the original directory on the DB app server and continue with your exports.
    I hope this helps.

The SP level is SP05 for TDMS 4.0[ for DMIS, DMIS_CNT]
    Databse MSSQL
I am getting the error at Creation of Data cluster in Execution system.[ Flash Icon]. Tried to solve the issue by using the trouble shooting error. But couldn’t find anything related to that.
Execution system: ECS [ERP Sandbox system]
Control system: SOP  [ Solution Manager]
I see no dumps in st22 nor errors in SM21. Not even failed jobs in SM37.
    Experts help needed.
    thanks

Thanks Billy for quick replies. I havn't checked the note. Will take a look at that.
Coming to Log report well either of the screens shows the same thing. The surprising thing is why dont the Ext process monitor doesnt show me any back ground job..[2nd image in above reply]
I will show you one more interesting thing, when i execute that step[ Creation of Data Cluster in Execution System] in process tree, i see a pop up screen in SOP...not sure what that is..u can oberve that in my following screen.

  • TDMS 3.0 for ERP 6.0:  step by step procedure for  TDSH6 Shell creation

    Dear All,
I need to perform shell creation. I have never done this and need help with step by step instructions.
I need to refresh my my development system with a TDMS shell creation from production client in production system.
I am familiar with TDTIM and performed many TDTIM copies. I have gone throught the master and operational guides for TDMS also.
I would try to list down my understanding so far after reading the guides.
Please correct me if I am wrong ang also suggest correct steps.
    1. All my three systems (central, sender and receiver) are ready from installation point of with with authorizations and latest SPs.
    2. I log into Central/Control system and start a new package  "ERP Shell creation package for AP Release higher 4.6 "
    3. AS I have never executed this option I do not know what are the stps inside it.
But I assume I should be asked for the source client details from which shell needs to be creates. (000 or pruduction client)
What type of shell  : slave or master?
    4. During the shell creation from sender system client, is there a downtime for sender system.
    5. Once the shell creation is done an export dump will created.
    6. I perform all the preprocessing steps of a homogenous system copy on the receiver systems.
    7. Stop receiver system, start sapinst  database instance installation with homogenous system copy with R3load option.
    8. Provide the export dump location to sapinst.
    9. After database instance is installed, perform system copy specific post processing steps.
    10. Afte the system is ready it has only one client 000 now available in development system and  i need to create a new cleint from 000 which will act as my new development cleint.
I request all you experts to please provide your comments at the earliest as activity would be starting from 5th of this month.
    Regards,
    Prateek.

    Hi,
    Let me answer your questions.
    Some queries
    1. Is there a downtime for Production system (sender system).
SAP recommends that nothing much should be going on during the export of the Sender(PRoduction) system, but so far i have never encountered an issue doing the export in online mode.
    2. Shell creation works on both Production and 000 client or only Production client,
Be carefull!!! - A Shellcreation is a normal Homogenous Systemcopy using R3load. You will create a 'new' system with the DDIC and clientindependent customization of the Sender system. ALL former data of the target system will be deleted.
You mention that you will refresh a development system that way. Please be aware of the implications that a development refresh contains. That said. After the refresh you will have the 000 client and parts (users ... authorizations of sonder) of the other clients on the new system.
    3. when I import the the dump using sapinst, how many clients are available in receiver systems.
See above. All client configuration will be available, but nearly no data will be in these clients except 000. A manual part of the Shellcreation is to clean up the target system (delete the clients that are not needed) This is a fast process.
    4. Soem where in the guide it is mentioned that downtime depends on the type of shell I create.
Kindly suggest should I create a master shell or slave.
Hm. The master shell is just a concept that you create a complete new system and put that system into your transport landscape without filling it with data. You can then use that system as the source for a normal (database dependent) systemcopy without impacting your prod system. The result is a very small copy that can be repeated very often without an impact to prod/QA...
Downtime is as described in point1 not required
    5. Once I execute this activity of shell creation for lets say receiver system A, then can I use the same export dump for second receiver system B.
    Yes
    6. Lastly please suggest the activity execution time as customer has provided us 2 days to execute this activity.
This depends on your knowledge of homogenuous systemcopies and the preparation + some items like size of stxl  and other tables that will be exported/imported.  If you are very familiar with the systemcopy process using R3Load 2 days are feasable.
I have seen shellcreations done within 1-2 days but also much longer ones!
As a prerequisite i would always recommedn to have the latest R3* + migmon exe available on sender + target.
I hope i have clarified some of your items.
    Best Regards
    Joerg

  • TDM Importer in Excel 2003 does not appear in the COM Add-In Menu

I have a program that will create a TDMS file with the data, and after execution is complete, I would like to import the data into Excel and manipulate it using a macro. I can import the file manually and run the macro by opening a second file containing the macro, but opening up the second file is a hassle.
I would like to expand the macro so that it automatically imports the TDMS file, and based on what I've seen on the forums, in order to do this, I need to register the TDM importer as a COM Add-In. When I go to the COM menu in Excel and try to add ExcelTDM.dll, it does not appear in the menu.
Some additional details that may be helpful:
Excel TDM Importer is version 3.4.0.0
I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the importer
Using the Excel toolbar works to import the data
Double-clicking on a file works to import the data
The installed files are located at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\TDM Excel Importer. Moving them to C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Excel TDM had no effect.
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Solved!

No, it doesn't. Excel does not see the add-in in the COM Add-In window, so I cannot access it using VBA.

  • Execution Time Issue

    Help Please!!!
I've been searching for an execution time issue in our application for a while now. Here is some background on the application:
Collects analog data from a cDAQ chassis with a 9205 at 5kHz
Data is collected in 100ms chunks
Some of the data is saved directly to a TDMS file while the rest is averaged for a single data point. That single data point is saved to disk in a text file every 200ms.
Problem: During operation, the VI that writes the data to the text file will periodically take many hundreds of milliseconds to execute. Normal operation execution times are on the order of 1ms or less. This issue will happen randomly during operation. It's usually many seconds between times that this occurs and it doesn't seem to have any pattern to when the event happens.
Attached is a screenshot of the VI in question. The timing check labeled "A" is the one that will show the troubling execution time. All the other timing checks show 0ms every time this issue occurs. I simply can't see what else is holding this thing up. The only unchecked subVI is the "append error call chain" call. I've gone through the heirarchy of that VI and ensured that everything is set for reentrant execution. I will check that too soon, but I really don't expect to find anything.
Where else can I look for where the time went? It doesn't seem to make sense.
    Thanks for reading!
    Tim

You should probably increase how much data you write with a single Write to Text File.  Move the Write to Text File out of the FOR loop.  Just have the data to be written autoindex to create an array of strings.  The Write to Text File will accept the array of strings directly, writing a single line for each element in the arry.
Another idea I am having is to use another loop (yes another queue as well) for the writing of the file.  But you put the Dequeue Element inside of another WHILE loop.  On the first iteration of this inside loop, set the timeout to something normal or -1 for wait forever.  Any further iteration should have a timeout of 0.  You do this with a shift register.  Autoindex the read strings out of the loop.  This array goes straight into the Write to Text File.  This way you can quickly catch up when your file write takes a long time.
NOTE:  This is just a very quick example I put together. It is far from a complete idea, but it shows the general idea I was having with reading the queue.

  • EXE not writing to TDMS files

    Hi folks,
I am using LabView 8.20 on a Windows XP machine.  The application generates TDMS data files and all works fine in the development environment.  When I compile the TDMS files are not written to correctly.  The files are created (I can see them appear in the folder at the appropriate time) but no data is written to them.
The app uses absolute paths to the files, so the issue with stripping the extra layer off the EXE path does not apply.
    I have USI installed.
Any ideas how I can look deeper into this, or if this is a know bug that has been solved?
    Thanks,
    Ian

I have some similar problem, but I have problems in the both execution modes, exe and in developmen mode, i send the basical example of code, and the tdms file result, at start, work properly, but in some moment the tdms writer rutine "is out" and don´t work, but after some time, in some times short time(some seconds), at other times very long time (hours), the rutine himself restart to work, !!!!incredible!!!!!
    can you help me????

  • How to restart a TDMS PEM block?

    Hello,
I’m using TDMS PEM ( Process execution Manager) and I have 4 groups of block activities. In the third group I have the Data Transfer Block that stopped with the duplicated key error. I have fixed this error and now I want to restart the Data transfer block, but I can’t see how.
I have two more activities in this block, I can start the activities individually, but I want to keep going with the PEM automation.
If I select the block ID Data Transfer I have the “stop execution” button enabled, the “schedule execution” button disabled and the “status process Execution” button enabled.
How can I restart the block execution?
Thanks in advance and Best Regards,
    Walde Requena

    Hello Walde Requena,
When you click on the Block name(it appears as a hyperlink) eg: "Data Transfer 04/05", you will be able to see the activities grouped under it.
You need to resolve the duplicate key issue before you proceed.
You can run the troubleshooter "Change Technical settings for migration objects" and change the "write behaviour" of the failed migration objects to "Modify".
Once this is done, you can click on "start Execution" in the PEM tab.
The PEM engine will make an attempt to restart the failed activities. Then data transfer should get over for the failed objects.
Then the next activities will also get scheduled and completed.
Let me know if i have answered your question.
    Best Regards,

  • Filter data in tdms file

I am needing to look at select data of a TDMS file in an analyze portion of a stat machine. The VI is to test both AC and DC motors. I am getting 18 different reading from a power analyzer. I am writting these to a TDMS file for ease of passing through the rest of the states. In the "Analyze" state I am wanting to look at  13 of readings an compare them to see is they are within tollerence. I will then use this check to highlight the reading green or red.
    My questions are:
Should I even have an 'Analyze' state or should I do the analysis in the state that the reading is taken?
If I do use the 'Analyze' state is pulling the data from the TDMS file the best way to do this?
Also, if you see any other possible errors in the vi, please let me know. This is my first experience with LabView and it is steep learing curve.
    Thanks,

    AC TEST PANEL.vi ‏524 KB

Since you are using a State machine approach, I would suggest to keep that idea and add the Analyze state to keep the code organized. Plus, you can add a shift register to pass around the acquired data which will be more efficient than reading from the TDMS file.
For future reference, when using the state machine while you analyze, log, etc...you are forcing sequential execution and loosing time that can be used for hardware I/O. When this becomes a concern you can implement the following structure. Keep up the good work

  • TDMS HCM not copy tables PCALAC, PEVAT,PEVSH,PEVST,PPOIX,PPOPX

    Hi gurus.
I´m implementing TDMS HCM 4.0 for HCM. My level of patches are the following:
    DMIS             2011_1_700     0006     SAPK-11306INDMIS
    DMIS_CNT     2011_1_700     0006     SAPK-11306INDMISCNT
    DMIS_EXT
    2011_1_700
       0006
       SAPK-11306INDMISEXT
In my tests, the system is not coping the entries for the table PCALAC in the cluster of the employee, so there is not coping the entries in the tables PEVAT,PEVSH,PEVST,PPOIX,PPOPX. I have opened an OSS mesage but they told me that considering fact that data in the posting tables is too large, we haven´t provided the feature of transferring posting data in TDMS HCM package even if yopu maintain in the CNVHCM_TR_TAB.
I´m not agree because in the selection screen you have the posibility of select them, when you select in the tab "Other PA Data" and check Posting documents in Table groupings: SAP International Tables. so if you select "Display" These tables appear for the selection but are not selected in the execution
Do you have this problem? Am I in a mistake?
    Thanks for your colaboration.
    Manuel

    Hi Park,
None of 3 tables PPOPX, PPOIX and PCALAC  and the program RPCIPQ00 contains test run result.
these are for the posting and retroactive accounting result.
Test run will be stored in buffer which will get refreshed once you come out from lof display to selection screen.

  • Transfer Data to TDMS Cluster (TDMS4HCM)

    Hello experts,
could anyone please let me know how I can transfer the data to the tdms cluster. I have completet follwoing steps.
-> Prepare Data Transfer (Status: Execution successfully completed)
-> Data Transfer (Status: Execution successfully completed)
But if I compare the Data from the receiver system with the data of the sender system it seems to be identical.
I used the standard SAP_HCM_DE_GERMANY Scrambling rule.
The extende process monitor seems to be ok. The only steps without a status information are:
    - Return to Configuration and Selection and
    - Transfer Data to TDMS Cluster
The whole Data Transfer Phase is still in status: Running in process
Is there anything else I have to do to copy the data?
    Regards
    Marco

    Hello Marco,
As per the steps mentioned by you, the data transfer is comeplete.
You need not execute the below steps to complete the data transfer.
    - Return to Configuration and Selection and
    - Transfer Data to TDMS Cluster
But as told that you have used SAP_HCM_DE_GERMANY Scrambling rule, can you just check in the log of the activity 'Transfer Selection Criteria', whether the scrambling rule SAP_HCM_DE_GERMANY has been activated or not.
You need to activate the scrambling rule 'SAP_HCM_DE_GERMANY' in activity 'Define Scrambling rules'.
If you still face any issues, raise an OSS message.

  • TDMS - System Analysis Phase completed with errors

    Hi All,
We are running TDMS copy, currently running at System Analysis phase, however we encountered status message "completed with error" within sub-step "Generation of Run-Time Objects for Data Transfer". When we checked the tasks, we found below error messages...
Error while generating runtime objects for ZJ_3RFREP_VALFMT_01W
Syntax error in function module /1CADMC/OLC_950000000614930
Error message: Type "DECFLOAT16" is unknown
We tried re-executing the step several times but no success.
Can anybody suggest how to fix the issue. Thanks.
    Regards,
    Philip

    Hi experts,
We opened an OSS incident regarding this issue, and SAP responded to exclude the migration object J_3RFREP_VALFMT from the current transfer using the troubleshooter.
However, while we execute the troubleshooter, message prompt "Activity 'Troubleshooting for Migration Objects' execution 0003 in package 9002D, phase 'System Analysis' has been aborted ." appears.
In the Phase Overview of the System Analysis, step "Troubleshooting for Migration Objects" is added, which has an aborted status. Checking the logs of that steps we found below.
Skip Migration Objects from Current Transfer
    I EQ J_3RFREP_VALFMT
Destination to the central system is not created yet
We checked all the RFC connections and all seems working fine.
Can anyone share how to fix this or what to check further.
    Regards,
    Philip
