Peripherals no longer installed

My system no longer recognizes my Ethernet, TV tuner, USB2.0, keyboard, mouse, audio, and touchscreen. All of these devices are either no longer visible in device manager or no longer working.
The correlation is that the entire back panel of the device no longer works. When I boot, I get a keyboard error on the screen.
I have been able to get a Logitech keyboard to work when I put the dongle into the usb3.0 jack on the side of the machine.
I think the back panel needs replacing. Any ideas?
Thanks

Hello , I understand that you desktop computer no longer recognizes the Ethernet port, the TV tuner, USB 2.0 ports, or other peripherals, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter! Since all of the devices on your computer have lost functionality, I recommend re-installing all of the original software and hardware drivers that first came with your computer. This can be done by following the steps in this document on Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 8). To update the newly installed software, please follow this resource on Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8).
If your desktop's ports and device components are still not working, I recommend returning your system back to a previous restore point. This can be done by following the steps in this document on Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8).
Should the problem continue, I suggest performing a backup and recovery of your operating system. This can be done by following the steps in this resource on Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), as well as Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 8). This should return your system back to factory defaults.

  • Apps no longer install from iTunes and disappear from home screen

Everything went fine until a few days ago, with no change I can discern, apps no longer installed from iTunes. They did install when I deleted them in iTunes, synced, then installed from the Touch. Now even that is failing unless I reset settings on the Touch after every install session. Resets make these apps appear but I have to do it all over again to install new apps and, again, only from the Touch. I
've reset in iTunes twice to a brand new iPod. Have tried installing one app at a time and can't find a culprit. This is a new development so I'm not inclined to think it's hardware. Can a bad app do this to a second generation Touch three months old running 2.2? I've never been near a jaibreak thing.

If you mean hardware I wonder why it would develop out of nowhere. It's a flash drive, yes? If it's a software problem wouldn't it be fixed by a reset. Remember that apps show up after resetting settings on the touch itself but doing that after every installation is a drag.

  • I Can No Longer Install Palm Desktop on a Reformatted Computer!

Since I reformatted my computer and patched it all the way back up, I can no longer install the Palm Desktop Software.  I put the disc in and it hangs at the installation dialogue box and slows my entire computer down.  So I pull up the task manager and my CPU is spiked at 100%, and iDriver.exe is the process hogging the CPU while eating hundreds of megs of memory.  Not only that but there are multiple instances of iDriver.exe right behind it with one instance of iDriverT.exe.  Also there are multiple msiexec.exe instances as well.  Once I kill the first instance of iDriver.exe the Palm Desktop installation stops.  I even downloaded the latest verizon version from this site and I'm having the same problem.
    Any solutions?

there are so many installation errors that are caused by so many things. some are iDriver that's related to errors like 1607.
    try also these steps:
Error - 1607: Unable to Install InstallShield Scripting Run Time
Update to the Latest InstallShield Installation Engines
    http://knowledge.macrovision.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=Q108322&sliceId=1
When running into installation issues, it is always recommended that you use the latest InstallShield installation engines. This article contains steps on how to download and install the latest InstallShield engines for the installation version you are trying to install.
    What to do?
    Follow the Troubleshooting steps below:
Determine if the installation is compressed or uncompressed.
Launch Windows Explorer by pressing the Windows key + E or select Start > Run and type explorer.
Browse to the location of the installation files. For example, if the installation is on a CD, browse to the CD-ROM drive.
Search for the installation file. The typical names for installation files are setup.exe, update.exe, installer.exe, etc.
If the installation file is the only file in the directory (a single installation file), continue with the remaining suggestions in Step 1. Otherwise, if there are other files in the same directory as the installation file, continue to Step 2.
When a single installation file is run, it uncompresses the installation files into a temporary location (usually the Temp directory). Use these steps to find the installation in the temporary location:
Start the single installation file, but do not continue or cancel the installation dialogs.
Browse to the Temp directory. For further information on how to find the Temp directory, see Clean the Temp Directory.
Search for the installation file. The typical names for installation files are setup.exe, update.exe, installer.exe, etc. The uncompressed installation file should contain other files in the same directory. Continue with step 2.
Right-click on the installation file that you are trying to install and select Properties.
In the Properties dialog, click on the Version tab.
Look at the File Version field to determine the version number of the InstallShield engine you need. Follow the instructions for your version. If you started the installation in Step 1d, cancel it.
If the file version number is 2.0x or less:
Delete the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\engine from the machine.
    Download IkernelUpdate.exe.
Once downloaded, double-click it. This installs the InstallShield engine for your installation.

  • I downloaded iMesh and I can't stop it from automatically popping up each time I request a new tab. I have uninstalled the program, but I want to stop it from defaulting as a new tab. I tried uninstalling, but it is no longer installed as an add-on

I downloaded iMesh and I can't stop it from automatically popping up each time I request a new tab. I have uninstalled the program, but I want to stop it from defaulting as a new tab. I tried uninstalling the add on and plug in, but it is no longer installed as an add-on or plug in. How do I get the "new tab" request to simply open with a blank address in the address box instead of www.imesh.com.

Ok, I finally managed to get rid of it.
First I did the thing with the about:config but I flitered for imesh instead and managed to reset two thing but when I got to the keyword.URL I got the same thing as lolbabe98 did with the "An attempt to change your search engine or homepage was blocked."
Then I did a search on my C: drive for iMesh and discovered some things that hadn't been removed even though I had unistalled both the toolbar and the actual program. After that it worked fine and I now have a regular "untitled" tab when I open a new tab.
One last thing, when I tried to remove some of the files there was one that said it was in use, it was called datamanagerUI or something rather. The only thing I had to do there was to open Task Manager and kill a process called DATAMN~1 and I was able to remove it. Hope this helps.

I get the error the icc profile is no longer installed when I try to print.  It only happens with PSE9, why??

  • ICC profile no longer installed so Photoshop (OS9 Classic ) won't print

    Hello everyone
What is an ICC profile? If I run my non latest Photoshop in the OS9 Classic environment on OS10 a message comes up that the ICC profile is no longer installed so it cannot print - what can I do?
    Bryony

An ICC profile is a mathematical snapshot of the color range and gamut of a given device. There are separate profiles for monitors, digital cameras, scanners, printers, etc. With this information, ColorSync knows what each device is capable of displaying, capturing or printing. As an example, it can then give you the closest color possible on your printer to match your monitor.
With Photoshop open, press CommandShiftK to call up the Color Settings. Under the Working Spaces section, see what profiles Photoshop is looking for under the RGB and CMYK fields. You should then find that profile in the OS 9 /System Folder/ColorSync/ folder. Actually, it doesn't mean it's there, but that's the one Photoshop is looking for.
You could choose a different profile. Or, you could reinstall Photoshop entirely, or do a custom install and have it only reinstall the ICC profiles.

  • Settings icon no longer installed on my phone.  Help!!

This morning all I wanted to do was remove some apps that dont get used.  Look for my setting icon in apps....not there.  Tried the = button and all I get is "linked program is no longer installed on your phone".  I called support at verizon.  I was on the phone for over 1 hour.  Restarted phone 3+ times, shut it down, removed battery, hold down volume and power button.  Nothing except when I removed battery it took my phone over an hour to turn on?!?!!??  Phone is now on but still no settings.  This is not cool.  No update recently either.  HELP

It seems that for some reason this is becoming a coming issue with the Incredible, apps are vanishing and users are being lost and I think this is why they pulled the update for the device because it really had issues......   And users complained about the VVM notification on the Thunderbolt
I hate to tell you thing but at this time it seems that hard resetting the device has been the only working solution because the location where app is located it can not be reinstalled under the stock roms configuration..
    Hard Reset
Turn the power off. If your HTC DROID Incredible is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
    Hold the Volume Down button
Press and release the Power Button
You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
Press and release the Power button
Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO

  • How do I stop Logic Pro X from trying to load a 32 bit plug-in that's no longer installed

How do I stop Logic Pro X from trying to load a 32 bit plug-in that's no longer installed?  I noticed it occurring on projects where I used Miroslav Philharmonik. I keep getting prompted when opening the projects. I uninstalled Miroslav thinking it would stop, but it didn't.

Assuming you are talking about the boxed set of Logic Studio (Logic Pro 9) on DVDs the only solutions are to either borrow or purchase an external CD/DVD drive and use that with your new MBP.
Amazon sells a very reasonably priced 'Amazon Basics' external CD/DVD drive suitable for the process...
    http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Portable-External-Optical-Drive/dp/B003M0NT1M /ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416924310&sr=8-1&keywords=CD+DVD+external+drive+amazon+ basics
Do NOT try and copy Logic across from your Mac to your MBP using something like Time Machine or Migration Assistant... 99% of the time, doing so results in all kind of weird issues later on.
Just install Logic pro 9 plus all it's content from scratch using the DVDs provided with Logic Studio Boxed set.....

  • ICal no longer installed, how do I get it back

I've got a eMac with OSX 10.4 installed. For some reason, iCal is no longer installed. It may have been accidentally moved to the trash at some point. Is it possible to reinstall iCal via a download from this site? Or, can I just reinstall iCal from my 10.4 OS disk?

    Eric,
You will have to use the Custom Install feature of your OS X 10.4 installation disk.
After that has been accomplished download and reinstall the Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update (PPC) to bring your new custom installation of iCal up to the most recent version.

  • Multiple drivers no longer install properly

The situation started when I tried to connect a disk drive from another laptop that had died, to my HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook, i7-2630QM, using a USB 3.0 to 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD cable I purchased from StarTech.com in order to recover some files. When I connected the cable to the usb 3.0 port the system tried to install the device driver but it was not successfully installed. When I looked into the matter with the Device Manager nothing shows up under disk drives except the internal drive; there is no usb mass storage device under the usb controllers category; instead it has an unknown device with yellow exclamation pt. and an ASMT1051 label with a yellow exclamation point due to a driver install failure. The device listed in the properties specified is c:\windows\system32\drivers\USBSTOR.SYS. In looking for an answer to this condition I went online at Microsoft, Tom's hardware, and Seagate. Following some suggestions that the driver file may be corrupted, I deleted the driver file and rebooted the system. The driver file was reconstructed but no change ensued when I reinserted the cable. Updating the driver, uninstalling the device, etc also had no effect on the problem. All OS updates were also applied to my system.
I then contacted StarTech for some insight into the issue. On their Windows 7 machine the cable [without disk drive attached] worked fine but it didn't use this driver it used the disk.sys and partmgr.sys files. At their suggestion I tried connecting the cable to a Samsung netbook I had running a Win 7 Starter OS without the hard drive. The system detects the cable, installs the driver properly. the device manager sees the cable as a disk drive ASMT2115 usb device. The driver details for this device specifies c:\windows\system32\drivers\disk.sys and partmgr.sys. Under the usb controllers besides the usb composite device it has a usb mass storage device. I also installed the cable on a friend's Windows 8.1 system successfully. This kind of eliminated the cable as the source of the problem.
After this I suspected the dv7 notebook had the problem. In searching the HP support website I found this post http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-dv7-6100-Quad-Edition-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-seri...
This post suggested uninstalling the usb root hubs and rebooting the system to alleviate the problem. Upon doing this I ran into multiple failures when rebooting.  I now still cannot successfully attach the hdd/usb cable, but I also no longer can log into the system using the fingerprint scanner, and I cannot use my usb connected HP laserJet printer.
I hope this dissertation isn't too disjointed for you to understand. Can you please help me with this issue? I would at least want to get the system back to where I can use my printer so I can print out my income tax forms and other documents. I also have a file which shows the Device Manager listing but I don't know how to attach the file to this post.
    Thank you for reading.
    This question was solved.

    Hi @Mitch8 ,
    Thank you for your inquiry.
I understand that you are trying to connect a HDD via USB to 2.5HDD/SSD cable.  After uninstalling and reinstalling the USB root hub you had multiple failures on reboot including the fingerprint scanner and HP laserjet printer.
You could try doing a Windows restore back to a known good date to acquire your fingerprint scanner and printer back up and running.  If that is successful once you have your income tax and other documents  printed off, I would recommend doing a recovery back to factory.
HP Notebook PCs - Using Microsoft System Restore
You could also try running HP Support Assistant  to look for HP drivers and software.
You could try reinstalling the HP laserjet printer as that may also work.
Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 7)
There will be an option during the recovery to backup your personal files to prevent data loss.
Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows 7)
    Good Luck!

I had a problem with Apple mobile device support, i un-installed itunes like it says on the support, i did this several times, now it will no longer get passed the setup, and says "the installer encountered error before iTunes could be Configured. Errors Occured During istalation. Your systems has not been modified. Please run the installer again." which i have done serveral times now and it has not worked can somone help me?

That looks like an Ownership & Permissions issue of your Home folder.
The desktop actually is a folder inside your Home folder.
The mailboxes also are inside the Home folder (~/Users/YourUsername/Library/Mail/Mailboxes)
Some folders/files might not have the correct permissions.
Open the Users folder on your HD, click on the Home icon (has your username) and Get Info.
Expand 'Ownership & Permissions' and 'Details:'.
You must read 'you can Read & Write'
    At 'Owner:' your username
    Access: Read & Write
'Group:' probably is set to 'admin' and R&W. If not, no need to change it.
    'Others:' Read only
Click on the 'Apply to enclosed items...'
Wait until finished. You may want to log out and log in, but normally this is not necessary.
Hope your iTunes, Mail and desktop problems are fixed.
