Permanent 1 unread message symbol on home screen

Hi!
I have a relatively new Blackberry Curve 8330 (I bought it about 2 months ago!) and the symbols at the top of the home screen (for missed calls, unread messages, etc.) had been working fine until a couple of weeks ago when the unread message symbol became stuck on the screen for some time now. I have gone through all my messages and even pressed "U" to find unread messages - but the following message comes up:
"No unread messages in list."
There seems to be no real reason for the symbol to stay popped up, since all of my messages have been read.
It's annoying me and I really want to get rid of the symbol, since there are no unread messages.
How should I go about this?

Thanks for the question. I understand that you are having trouble locating some application after the update to iOS 7. To troubleshoot this issue, let’s reset the home screen layout of your iPhone, which should move all of your applications to the second “page”:

Blackberry 8120 4.5 Earth symbol on home Screen

There is an 'earth' symbol (number 1 next to it) on my home screen to the left of the date and time, I've searched the tutorials but do not understand what and why it's there?

UNHIDE/HIDE MESSAGE NOTIFICATION ON HOME SCREEN

I currently have a Nokia E63. I have hidden the message notification box on my home screen by using the backspace button. Does anyone know how to get (unhide) that box?

It's amazing how the Nokia guide book tells you:
"To view the notifications, scroll to a box. Each box is only visible if there are items in it. TO hide the boxes, press the backspace key."
And then there is nothing on how to unhide the boxes.
So I found the solution. I'm getting a Blackberry. Thanks for unsupport Nokia.

Remove/Hide Pause message/symbol from tv screen

Hi,
Can you remove/hide the Pause message/symbol from the tv screen?
Left it on longer than expected a couple of times and 'burns' an image onto the screen, which takes a while to go.

Strange symbol on home screen

About two days ago, a symbol I have never seen before showed up on my BB Curve 8530 homescreen. I have had this phone for about 2 years. It appears at the top of the screen next to where it shows an envelope and the number of unread emails I have. It looks like a white rectangle with a black dot in the middle, and then there is a red dot located near the upper right corner (the red dot hangs off of the rectangle, if that makes sense). What does it mean? How do I get rid of it?? I searched online and on my phone and have yet to figure it out. Thanks for your help.

My ipod is showing an "activation required" message on my home screen and the slider to unlock it is not working. I've had it for 2 years and had no problems and then it randomly locked up on me and won't let me do a reset. Any way to fix this?

I haven't been able to use my ipod for a month because its stuck on a screen that says "Activation Required" and the slider to unlock it is unresponsive. I've drained the battery and recharged it, I've tried resetting it. When I try opening it in iTunes it tells me its unable to access it because the iPod is locked with a passcode, which I can't enter on my iPod because the slider is unresponsive. Any help?

next thing i would think of is to ask bestbuy apple retailer or bestbuy pple to help u out from here bc im not sure what to do next if u cant get it into dfu mode.
all i can think of is to hold home and power for 30 seconds in the meantime of showing the apple sign at least once or twice.
either that, home and power flashes once and 1/2 sec later release power while holding home still and plug it in wihout trying to let go the home button. dont even let go until itunes says somthing remotly saying anything ...lol

Symbol on home screen

I have a symbol on my homescreen that has the number 1 next to it and something that looks like the web browser icon, does anyone have any idea how I can remove this. Please help.

That's a browser push message if it is yellow.
If it's blue, it's a WAP push message.
1. Open your main Messages folder.
2. Press the Menu key (left of the trackball).
3. Click on View Folders.
4. Click on Browser Push messages (or WAP Push Messages).
5. Read or delete the messsage.

Problems with new message alert on home screen (No...

Not sure if this problem is specific to the Nokia X6 but this is really annoying me! I have contacted Nokia through their form as well as speaking to an advisor...
Basically, when your phone has been auto-locked, is there a way other than the ridiculous little light flashing once to alert you to a new message? I often have my phone on silent during the day and can’t see this little white light (notification light/menu button). On my previous phone, the whole main screen used to light up when I received a text but I can't find a way to do that on the X6....
I thought I had found a quick fix as it seems to do it if the screen is unlocked then the backlight will go off, however, then the auto-lock kicks in and I’m back to square one again!! Please can anyone advise me on either:
1) If there is a way for the main screen to light up when you receive a message if your phone has been locked (i.e. black screen)
2) Or if not, a way to turn off the auto keyguard lock?
It’s gonna drive me completely round the twist if I can’t find a solution!

In answer to the original question, you can change the settings for the noification light under Menu>Settings>Notification light, but there is no way to make the screen light up when locked - the phone is behaving as it is designed to behave.
In answer to the second issue with the incoming notification stopping altogether, if the factory settings reset has not solved the issue then you can try reformatting the device using the code *#7370#, make a backup with Ovi Suite before doing so but leave out 'Settings' from the backup.
If the phone contains thousands of SMS messages, this could cause or at least contribute to issues in some phones.
Please note: Users of Symbian^3 devices should not use device reformatting as a general troubleshooting method, but in older S60 devices like the X6 described here you should not experience any issues as a result.

Permanently Unread Messages

My macbook Messages is synced with my phone text messages. I now have two messages that are stuck marked as unread. When I click on them, the blue unread indicator disappears for a second, then reappears very soon after. One of the conversations I tried deleting, when I right click the app on the doc, the phone number is still listed indicated as unread, but when I click it it takes me nowhere. Is there any way to fix this bug?

Hi,
With the App open go to the Applications/Utilities folder and launch the Activity Monitor app.
In the list find the item for the DOCK.
highlight it and then use the Quit icon top left.
Confirm Force Quit.
It will restart immediately and appear at the top of the list again (you will notice the Dock disappear and reappear)
This should remove th red indicator on the app icon.
Now selecting the chat should also remove the blue dot.

I just recently upgraded to iOS 7 and found out that i can no longer hide my text messages on the home screen anymore. Can anyone help with this?

I had this problem last night as well. Only my daughter upgraded to iOS7 and she had an old phone of mine. When she upgraded, the phone asked for my apple ID and then continued as normal. However, after the upgrade, any text message that I recieved, she also recieved. I am pretty sure my wife thought I was hammered when she started texting me and my daughter began answering her not having any clue what she was texting about. Anyway, this only occurred with texts from other family members, not from texts I received from friends who are obviously not on our account (we have Verizon BTW). To resolve this issue, and it isn't a short resolution.... there are two options... One, simply erase everyting on the phone.... I don't like iTunes 11, so we were unable to back up her phone. I made her go through her 600 photos, delete the ones she didn't want and email the ones she wanted to herself, and then we wiped the phone clean and rebooted it... go into Settings, General, Reset, Erase All Content and Settings. The second option, if you have iTunes 11 is to back up the phones one at a time, and then go into Settings, General, Reset, Erase All Content and Settings. Either of these options wipes the phone clean of all information, text contacts pictures etc and then you have to re-enter all of your individual information. When you do that, make sure that no one is on the same iTunes account. Theoretically, after you do this, you plug back into your computer and SYNC your phone from the last back-up. This resolved the problem for us. I don't know if there is an easier solution, be we tried logging in and out of our iTunes Accounts, turning the power on and off, and nothing changed. So, we had to go the more difficult route to avoid mass confusion with family texting.

N70 weird symbol on home screen???

Pretty much, just under the battery indicator, i have a symbol that is like "___/" and then theres an arrow ontop of the diagonal line part!
I'd like to know what exactly it mean!!??

Did you check the phone's User Guide? You've got a call divert on/enabled.

No "Messages" folder in home screen, can't change how long messages are stored

Hey everyone! I'd like to prevent my blackberry bold 9900 from deleting a text conversation after a while, and set it to save for "Forever". I tried following these instructions but can't find the "Messages" folder. Can anyone help me out?

The Messages Folder is the whie envelope icon. You can press "M" if your shortcuts is ON.

How do I clear unread messages in mail?

They're all read, but still shows unread messages on my home page. It's very frustrating!!

Anyone know the solution to this. Keeps indication 1,2 8 whatever messages in my inbox making me think there is new email and not being the case when I look in in mail account, happens with all 3 of my mail accounts on ipad since IOS7, Help please?
