Permanent video-zoom. How can I get it done?

Hi fellow FCP-lovers,
I'd like to get rid of some blurry stuff that can be seen at the far edges of some of my footage, but still thinking of the most elegant way to do this.
Now I was thinking of making a permanent very small zoom on my video, thus making disappear what was to be seen on the far edges at first (and taking for granted that my picture will be a little bit blown up.
I hope someone can tell me how exactly to achieve this effect, couldn't find anything about it in my manual.
(An alternative way to achieve my goal will be welcome too, but this seemed the most obvious solution to me).

Scaling the image turned out to be quite simple (should have known that in fact) but to keep the quality of the image intact turned out to be the problem.
I could improve the image a little bit in Motion but I still wasn't satisfied. At the end I decided to scale with just 101%, then write back to tape, then scale to 101 % again, write back to tape and then again until the dark edges (in this case a part of the camera itself that was filmed by accident) were not to be seen anymore.
As you understand this was pretty time-consuming but the result was far less dramatic than anything else I'd tried before...
