Permanently delete iCloud files

How do I permanently delete all iCloud files?

Tap Settings > iCloud. If you see a Storage option tap it. See if there is a Manage option to tap. This is on my iOS 8 iPhone. I'm not sure about iOS 7.x.x.

  • Can't permanently delete song file from external hard drive

    Hi Guys,
I want to be able to delete actual song files from my external hard drive as well as from my iTunes library in one easy, lazy step, via the iTunes window. I am not interested in finding and manually deleting the files through my external hard drive.
When I hit delete it only deletes the song from my iTunes library but not the actual destination music file aswell (from my external hard drive). I am aware this is because my external hard drive is not the original "Music\iTunes\iTunes Music" destination that the apple crew have designed and so I am not offered the option of sending the file to the recycle bin or "trashing it" when I hit the delete key (this permanently deletes the file).
I am also aware that I can find the music file destinations and delete them through the iTunes window by hitting "CTRL & R" or by the "show in windows explorer" command. I am not interested in these options either.
Basically, I have 20,000 songs to clean up and don't want to have to take my laptop with me to my grave...
I suspect there is some way of changing things around, possibly via some particular parameters to be set in the "Edit" > "Preferences" > "iTunes Music Folder Desintation" command area but still haven't been able to crack it.
Any help would be welcomed with open arms.
    Cheers.
    Labia.

    Camoracer,
You are right. Pardon me. The majority of the music that I was trying to delete off my external hard drive was in a separate folder (on the external hard drive), not in the directory specified in my iTunes preference settings.
    Problem solved!!!
This should also be a lesson to those who believe a one step delete function (from iTunes library and actual music file) is not possible when the music files are stored on an external hard drive (or other storage medium for that matter). I have read a host of other forums who say a one step delete function is not possible without additional software.. Perhaps these posts were from the authors of the software trying to make a $.
    Cheers.

Solved! Music was in Itunes folder but not in Media folder within that. It doesn't seem like a very user friendly system so far!

  • How do I permanently delete Numbers files on the iPad?

    Friends:
How do I permanently delete Numbers files on the iPad? I use the trash button, and they seem to be deleted, but they are not. If I leave Numbers and come back, I can still load the deleted files!
How do i permanently delete them?
    Thanks
    Migs

Do you mean to delete them from numbers, or from the shared folder location in the upper right? The previous poster was addressing the second. If you want to completely delete something from the iPad, you must do both, the trash can icon when e current workbook is in front of the list, and swipe to delete from the shared folder list. It's two completely different locations.

  • How do you permanently delete a file image in the catalogue

how do you permanently delete a file image in the ?

Highlight the image, press the delete key, in the dialog that appears click the button that says, "Delete from disk."
If you want to delete multiple images you can go through your images and when one is highlighted that you want to delete press the X key. That will mark the image for deletion. After you have gone through the images on Windows you can press Ctrl/backspace to display the same dialogue I described above. And you can choose to remove the marked images from the catalog or to delete them from your disk.

  • Permanently deleting old files Ive put in trash.

I know that some files will leave bits and pieces around after I have put them in the trash and clicked "empty trash". How do I permanently delete these files? I know there is some sort of application to do it, and I would like for my computer to run better, and I dont see why the "10 things I hate about you" movie ive already deleted and put on my ipod is still hurting my comp. Thank you very much.

Once you delete something it's gone ...at least as far as the system is concerned. You can use 'Secure Empty Trash' from the Finder drop-down menu to more thoroughly delete something. If an item is still lingering around ...perhaps you only deleted a part of it and it may have extra files in other locations.
    This app may help...

How do I permanently delete video files?

Perhaps you do not have permissions to move the file.  Do a get info on a file you cannot delete. Open the details triangle.  Report back.
This seems rather odd.  Is the file on an internal or exernal disk?
You may want to run these "standard" fixes if the problem persists.
You should run disk utility to verify the disk and to update your permissions.
You may want to run applejack to clean up your machine.

  • How do I PERMANENTLY Delete iCloud from my iMac???

I've been at this for three hours now. iCloud WON'T go away. Please help. I want it 100% gone, FOREVER. I want my Contacts and iCal data stored on my Mac!
I've read other discussions about this and no one's answers work. Every time I think iCloud is gone, as soon as I import my address book backup data, the data gets stored to iCloud again.
    HELP! Very, very, very frustrated.
I am on Mavericks and I have local backups of my iCal and Address Book data via export/archive. I do not have any other devices, just my Mac desktop.
    Thank you.

    UPDATE:
I did "sign out" ... about 50 times today. I followed all instructions in every help forum I could find on the subject before coming here. In the end, I had to contact Apple support.
A repeated series of rebooting between signing out and deleting iCloud accounts from Address Book and iCal had to occur before the signout would stick. Even then, as soon as I imported from archive, the apps re-activated the iCloud account, every single time. Every. Single. Time. (Hence my frustration.)
Lesson 1: For some reason, if you export archive Address Book while still on iCloud, importing will re-activate iCloud.
Depends on how you archive, I'll assume that you made an ABBU (Address Book Archive) rather than a vCard file, doing so included the account as well as the content.
Lesson 2: If you drag-and-drop your contacts onto the desktop and import them into Address Book once you are both signed out of iCloud and iCloud is also successfully deleted from AddressBook (the part that took multiple reboots,) THEN it will add the contacts back in as "On My Mac."
Correct, exactly as exporting a vCard file from the export menu would have (drag and drop makes a vCard file)
Lesson 3: If you export archive your iCal while still on iCloud, importing wil re-activate iCloud.
Of course, if you are signed into iCloud it's the default account
Lesson 4: If you highlight and export each individual calendar to your iMac, you can import later without iCloud reactivating. However ...
    However what?
Lesson 5: If you have synced any Gmail accounts in iCal, this will interfere with the importing. Even if you say "new calendar" in the prompt, it will load it to the Gmail section and then give you an error. To solve this problem, one needs to de-activate the calendar portion of Gmail from System Preferences/Internet Accounts. Gmail must remain disconnected from iCal until all individual calendar imports are finished, then it can be reactivated.
Gmail has nothing whatsoever to do with iCloud, it's a Google service and it follows Googles rules.
PS. When someone says they have been at it for "hours", please assume that they had the intelligence to take the normal, necessary steps. If "signing out" had worked, there would have been no need to come into this forum, under great stress and duress, and ask for help.
It seems that you did not take the normal steps (for a Google account), but I am glad you got there in the end.

  • How do i permanently delete icloud account

how do i permanently delete an  icloud account that i no longer use?

Just sign out of it on all devices and forget about it.
You can't completely delete the account from Apple's servers, but you can delete the data stored in it at iCloud.com.

  • How do i delete apple acoount without deleting icloud files and create new account on iphone 4

i am trying to ssave all my current account stuff but delete the account and start a new one on an iphone 4 and need help

Delete the iCloud account on your phone? If so, first turn off contacts, calendars, notes & Find My Phone. You'll be prompted to keep the data on your phone or delete it. If you want to keep it, select keep. Then, scroll down & delete the iCloud account. Once done, setup the new iCloud account & turn everything back on. You'll be prompted to merge. If you want to sync the data with your new account, select merge,

  • How do I permanently delete RAW files?

iMac hard drive nearly full of 'other', I suspect CR2 (RAW) files as this is basically all I have on there. Have copied masters to external drive, and started to delete from Aperture lib but storage capacity not changing. Have emptied trash and restarted. It could be a simple fix. I am blonde. So sorry also if this is on the wrong place

I would of said to look at your time machine system because since Lion came out TM has included a feature that saves all changed and or deleted files in a system called local snapshots. But Apple, OS X, supposedly only enables that feature on notebook Mac's and you are on a desktop iMac. That is unless you enabled it yourself or Apple has no implemented it for all Mac computers.

  • How can I permanently delete itunes files?

I moved my itunes library to an external hard-drive, but it still shows all the albums in my library.  If I try to play an album, it says the file has been moved.  How can I clean up my library so it doesn't show those files anymore?

When opening itunes keep the option(alt) key pressed on the keyboard.
I dialog box opens and you can choose your external Library on your hard drive. Sounds like iTunes is still trying to access the itunes library on the local drive which you have deleted. That is why you have all the exclammation marks by your content because iTunes can not find the files.
This will then always use the hard drive as your itunes library. Just ensure that the Hard drive is not in a sleep state when you start iTunes otherwise it will default to your local machine.
Just click on it in finder to wake it up

  • Retrieving permanently deleted emails from Icloud

How to retrieve permanently deleted icloud emails from 3 months ago?

Welcome to the Apple Community Paigef1.

  • My recycle bin isn't working, files are "permanently deleted" bypassing recycle bin

Hi... I have a Dell Laptop which is running Windows 7. Whenever i try to delete something, the dialogue box asks "would you like to permanently delete this file?" and seems to totally bypass the recycle bin.
I tried right clicking the recycle bin icon to change properties. The options for "Custom size" and "Don't move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted" are UNCHECKED but are also both greyed out and cannot be changed!
"Display delete confirmation dialog" is not grayed out, and is checked.
I tried to fix the Recycle bin settings from command prompt by running : rd /s /q C:\$Recycle.bin. It didnt help
I am deleting files from the local drive.
    I have tried creating a
new user account but the issue was not fixed. The laptop is in a domain. The above issue doesn't occur in safe mode. I tried to find out if a service or startup item is causing this but was not able to locate any. I have ran SFC scannow
    and checkdisk, it didn't help.
There is no group policy which is affecting this.
Is there any fix for this issue??

Check for a key called "NoRecycleFiles" in
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
If present, try setting the value to 0. Alternatively, delete it.

  • Deleting individual Files from trash folder

This should be a simple question...Is there a way to permanently delete individual files/folders from the trash folder instead of emptying the entire trash folder? TIA, Scott

As Allan says, no... the trash *should not* be used as a repository for files you're not sure you want to trash yet. Not only is this extremely hazardous, as it's easy to accidentally empty the trash, but it also puts all those questionable files outside the reach of Time Machine, so they will not be backed up. If you need a "Pending Trash" folder, create one on your desktop, and then put files in the trash only once you are truly ready to delete them.
