Permanently remove iPhone apps

Is it possibly to completely remove apps and their preferences from the iPhone itself (iPhone 4, iOS 4.3.3)?
I've tried uninstalling an app (by holding until it shakes, then tapping x and confirming removal) - but i've then reinstalled it (technical glitch w/ app). Then I turned off my iPhone and turned it back on.
Once the app had finished downloading an installing, it still had all the same settings i'd previously changed - and they hadn't reset through deletion of the app.
Apple used to have App Store apps that were similar to 'AppZapper' for Mac - which allowed complete deletion of every component of an app (app, shortcuts, pref files, folders etc.) Does anyone know if there's anything out there to completely remove an app please?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you.

To completely remove an App and all of its settings, do this: Delete the app on your phone, then delete the app in iTunes, when prompted, move all files to trash. Empty your trash. Then sync your phone. The app and all of its data & settings will be gone. If you want, you can re-download the app again, for free.

  • I can't remove iphone app from my update list on my imac and macbook pro. Getting daily requests and reminders to update

My computer daily reminds me to update an Iphone/Ipad app to my macbook pro and to my imac. The app is not installed on these devices and is also deleted from my iphone/ipad. There is no way to update because it says it is not possible with my apple id, and not on these devices. I cannot find the Angry birds app that it wants to update in my programs either. How do remove this from the updates?

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store could prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app could be "Final Cut Pro." Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
              File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
              Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
              Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
              Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    3. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
    4. At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
    5. Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.

  • How can I permanently remove apps from my ipad, iphone and ipod (which are in icloud)?

How can I permanently remove apps from my iphone, ipad, ipod operating in the iCloud?

Apps don't operate in the cloud - they're either downloaded to your device, or they're in your Purchased list. You can't permanently remove the history of apps you've purchased, but you can hide them. See this link:

  • How do I permanently remove apps from iCloud?

I would like to permanently remove old and unwanted apps from iCloud and all my devices (iPad, iPhone, and iTunes), but there does not seem to be a way to do this. In fact, there seems to be an strong underlying effort to avoid this option. No discussions, no steps, no Support options.
    Any suggestions?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
The apps are not actually in your iCloud storage, they are links to the apps in the App Store. What you are seeing is your purchase history and as such cannot be deleted.
You can however hide your purchases, which you can do from the QuickLinks > Purchased option from the main page in the iTunes Store on your computer.

  • How do you get an iphone app removed from iTunes App Store?

Angle Bar Solutions Movie Maker app for the iPhone is being miss-sold.
It is advertised as having Time-Lapse capabilities but it does not have these.
When I write a review to warn others the review gets posted before the one saying that all previous reviews are irrelevant as an update has added the functionality.
    There is no update!
    The app cannot do Time-Lapse!
I want a refund and I want Apple to remove the app from iTunes App Store.
    Please help.

The phone will automatically re-appear when it connects to the Internet. However, don't get your hopes up, as thieves know this & will make sure your phone never re-connects so you can locate it.

  • How do I remove standard apps from an iPhone 5?

I am an IT in a government office who just switched our fleet to iPhones.  We are not permitted to use certains apps that are either not in our data contract, touch the Cloud, or cause cost/personnel issues.  Those items I try to corral in a folder "Unusable Apps" on a separate page where the user has little eye contact with them (outta sight outta mind right).  I go through the motions of turning off every notification, update, share feature, etc. I can find but the icons are still on the phone.  I have a fleet of about 100 iPhones and at least half my users are sneaky & curious and often try to reactivate things I have already hidden or turned off per our agency telecommunications policy.  I just want them removed all together so I don't have to keep going through this and for those who can't fight temptation - they won't have to anymore.  How do I remove standard apps from an iPhone 5?

You may want to repost this in one of the iPhone for Business forums:
    https://discussions.apple.com/community/iphone/iphone_in_business_and_education
You'll want to ask about Configurator.
My company uses iPads as part of a Point of Sale System. They have restricted access to many of the built in apps and deployed custom apps.
    Best of luck.

  • How do I remove all apps from my iPhone?

How do I bulk remove all apps from my iPhone? There has to be a better way than removing each one manually. Thanks.

It's easiest to plug it into the computer if you have a lot, and click on the Music tab of the iPhone. Then, either Control-A (Windows) or Command-A (Mac) to select all of the songs then press delete on your keyboard. If you have a few, it is easiest to swipe over the individual songs and press delete.

How do I pernamantly remove an app from my iPhone 4 ?

Depends on the app. Built in apps - Safari, Music, itunes, etc. - can't be removed. Apps you have downloaded can be deleted by tapping and holding on any app icon, then taping the X to delete.

  • App store - permanently remove apps

Hi, I'm BJ from Wellington, NZ. I was just wondering if there is a way to permanently remove app entries from the app store - via view account. The only help entries I have seen talk about removing an app from a specific computer or device. This is good to a point but it can still be seen via iCloud or the App Store. I want a feature where I can change my mind and decide I do not want to ever see an app again on any device.
Surely I am not the only one who wants this! I want a way that I can remove it permanently so I never, and I mean never see it again. If anybody has any tips or pointers, look forward to hearing these.
    Cheers.

I'm not ssure what the issue is, if you delete an app from your devices and hide it in the Purchases, the only way that you should see it is if you went looking for it.

  • Removing Apps From iPhone App Store

    Hello,
I have been searching all over but I can't find a post on how to remove apps from the iPhone App Store purchased list. I have been able to do it in the past by swiping the app in the purchase list and selecting hide but it appears this function is disabled... Does anyone have any clue on how to do this now. Thank you

  • Can't remove deleted iPhone apps from Mac

I haven't been able to find the specific answer to this one.
After removing an app from my iPhone 4S, I also try to remove it from iTunes on my Macbook Pro (Mavericks 10.9).
For example, if trying to remove my "CBS" app (see image below)
Steps to reproduce: Connect phone to Mac > Open iTunes on Mac > iPhone > Apps
I have the option to "Install" it again, but no option remove or uninstall it completely. The "Remove" button only seems to apply to apps I have kept on my iPhone and do not want to remove e.g. the Fandango, Flixster, HBO GO apps.
How can I completely remove/uninstall the CBS app from the list of options? It didn't work well and I no longer intend to use it.
    Thanks

yep, unfortunately can't reset without the passcode either.
With regards to doing a restore, do you mean:
    open itunes on my computer
click on my device on the left
    go to the device summary
    click restore
it then asks if i want to back up before i restore (to which i say no)
then it asks me if i'm sure I want to restore to factory settings and that all of me media and data will be erased and replaced with the newest version ( to which I say yes)
then it takes about 90 mins to do this but when I look at my phone, everything is exactly the same.
Am I missing something? Obviously I'm technologically challenged, but I HAVE to get to the bottom of this!
