Print Module - Set Explicit Font Sizes
In the Print Module Identity Plate can Lightroom set font size explicitly instead of using only a % scale factor?
The scale factor is a great idea but it would be a lot more convenient at times to set the font size explicitly to 10 or 12 or whatever so it could carry over to other titles if you want all your titles to print in a specific font size (e.g. 12 points). That's already possible with Vibrance, Recovery and a host of other settings (including the Identity Plate scale factor itself!) and it's very valuable to be able to have those exacting controls.
Thanks,
RobertIan,
I'd be very pleased if I'm doing something wrong. From what I see the Identity Plate supports only one font size, and only for the most recent photo. When I choose Edit and type in a new title of a different length Lightroom changes the size of the font (the longer the title, the smaller the font and vice versa). Try this:
1) Open Identity Plate and title the picture "Hello".
2) Change the title to "I just love Adobe Lightroom so very much!"
The title will be smaller. Lightroom seems to disregard the Identity Plate font size.
I just tried your recommendation and no matter how I changed the Identity Plate font size in the Print module (e.g. from 38pt to 8pt) the photo's title text size barely changes, I have to use the Scaling slider every time. That font sizing functionality only works for me in the Library module when I'm creating my actual Identity Plate.
Every time I change pictures I have to re-do this step. The way I'm dealing with this is changing the scaling factor (or with your recommendation, the font size) every time for every different-length title and/or enlarging/shrinking the title box for each photo.
As I explained in my other reply to your other post, this is very time-consuming when you're printing 50-100 titled photos in a single day/weekend (not to mention the fact that it's physically impossible to set every scaling factor so all titles print exactly the same size font).
It would be a lot better for Lightroom to automatically save all the print parameters the way it saves all other of the picture's metadata.
If you could share an easy way to make that much faster I'd be quite grateful.

How can I set the font size of a form field in the fdf file?
I need to dynamically set the font size of a field to accommodate text of varying length, automatic font size won't work in this case. It seems like this can be done in the FDF but I have tried several variants without success. Could someone help out with a real example of what the syntax in the fdf should look like.
I am using Acrobat Professional 8.1 but the created fdf will need to work with Reader also.I think that the font size has to be set in the form itself, not the FDF.

Setting default font size in Safari
Hi. I like to set my font size in Safari to one level below the default. I usually do this everytime I open up a Safari window and hit Command+Minus or go to View > make text smaller. Anyway, I was wondering if there was a way I could set this to default so I did not have to do it everytime I launched Safari?
mrurmil --
You can go into the main Safari Menu, (upper left of top Menu)
Go to Preferences>Advanced
and then lower the size font designated in
"Never use font sizes smaller than _"
Mine's set to 9 which is pretty small,
but I like it better. I believe it was set to 11 or 12 natively.
Hope this helps. -
Set global font size for the whole application.
Is there a way of setting a font globally
What I mean I want to set a font size for the whole application.
Is this posable ??
Thanks CraigAfter posting over 300 questions I would think you would be passed the "New to Java TechnologY" stage.
The answer for Swing applications is yes this can be done.
I don't know how to do it for AWT components.
Since you posted the question in this forum (as oppose to the Swing forum for Swing related problems), I'm assuming this is an AWT related question and therefore I can't help you. -
How to set the font size on only one object!

Igor StojčevićHello,
You can use the builtin SRW.SET_FONT_SIZE

How to set the font size in JOptionPane?
I use a JOptionPane.showOptionDialog in a JClient form.
Can I set the font size of the message in my JOptionPane?
And also, can I set the location for each component in JOptionPane? The best way to do that is to create a seperate panel with its components in it (a JLabel with a specific font setting) and display that panel as the JOptionPane's message.
As for the OK/Cancel/etc buttons, I don't think you'll be able to rearange them, without hacking into the JOptionPane class' source. -
I have set the font to size 10, however, every time I enter the default size 14 takes over. Any solution?
Since setting the font size is pretty straight forward, my guess is that your problem is that you are not using Styles properly and are restarting text outside your formatted text.
1. Set your text style which includes font size by selecting the text:
Format > Font > choose the Family and weight > Size
If this was Body style click on Update next to Body and that will now be your Body style.
You can apply this anywhere by selecting the font and choosing Body from the styles list.
2. Styling applies until you either change it or add in some different text by say copying and pasting it from somewhere else.
3. Possibly you are clicking in a blank unstyled text area after where you have your styling.
4. Style is a part of text, which can vary throughout a document or it would be all boringly the same.
5. Possibly you are actually asking about having a default font size/style. You set this up in a document the way you like it and then save this as a Template file then:
Menu > Preferences > Pages > Prefernces > General > For New Documents: > Use template > Change Template > Browse to the one you want

How do I set default font size?
Some programs (most importantly for me, Thunderbird) use a default font size that is too small for my eye comfort. Some (such as Firefox) allow me to change the font size, but Thunderbird does not (though there is a menu item to change font size, which does not work).
I gather that such programs are using a default system font size. So I would like to change this. Some Help articles suggested that I could do this from the Font Panel, but they give no indication where to find the Font Panel. I cannot find it in System Preferences or via the Spotlight.
I am using OS X 10.4.7
I am computer-literate, but new to the Mac, having had this computer for about a week and a half.
P.S. In Thunderbird -> Preferences -> Fonts there is an option to configure the fonts used by Thunderbird. The settings affect messages, but not the main window with the message list. However, at this point I'd really like to set the system default so all programs that use the system default will be affected.
Thanks.
DanielThis still does not work.
I tried all of them.
Theme Font & Size Changer
Big Buttons
Default FullZoom Level
NoSquint.
It only works for that page of that web site, as soon as you leave you start all over again.
Can't we just say Firefox messed up and needs to revert to the way it used to work without have to do ANYTHING to adjust any sizing.
This is utterly ridiculous.
It's a web browser for GOD sakes...not the OS. It shouldn't be doing anything but displaying web sites with NO INTERVENTION by the user for each and every page.
Why are programers always looking for ways to take a working product and make it useless??? -

I have another kind of problem with Firefox
== Description

I have various formatting issues:
a. When I open a msg from my web browser (Cablevision), the font is sooo small I need a magnifier to read it. How can I set the font to a size I can easily read?
b. When I forward msgs, the text gets all distorted and I need to clean it up (some symbols, lots of spaces between words). How can this be fixed?
c. When I want to tell someone about a website, I cannot type the URL in so that all they have to do is click on it. How can this be fixed?
d. When I open messages, the text opens in a small window and covers the "Show Images" button. Why?

I successfully created a form filled pdf using an existing pdf document. However, the font size is too large to allow end user to type in information in the form box. Is there a way to 1)globally set all of the form fields when generated to a much smaller font size &/or 2) allow end user to change the font size if needed to put all information in one box without font being so large?
Hi DenisonDoc,
There is no option right now to set properties globally primarily for Text fields. You may make sure fields doesn't contain anything.
Select all the text filed from the form and right click any of the selected field make sure all of them are selected choose properties --> Appearance there you can choose Font Size and Font type.
- End users cant change size and type of font. It is up to designer.

Setting IDE font size in JDeveloper 10.1.3 EA
Is there a way to change default font size in JDeveloper? I am not asking about code editor (I know that), but about menus, title bars, labels, etc.
I have large screen (1400x1050) and I set my default system font larger. Old JDeveloper (10.1.2) obeyed this, but new is still using default font size.
I am using Windows XP with SP2.Hi Yaniv,
I can't reproduce this problem. On my system, the font in the messages log under the windows look and feel is large enough to be easily readable.
http://www.dubh.org/jdevimages/font-log-window.png
A few questions:
- Which version of jdev are you using (I'm assuming 10.1.3, since that's what the rest of this post is about)?
- Are you running windows on a non-western charset?
- Are you running base jdev or the full jdev?
Thanks,
