Permission denied on the RedHat 6.2

Hi,
I have created the Oracle e Dba group. I have
installed OAS 4.x e WebDB 2.x for Linux.
I have always the error PERMISSION DENIED
when I run a command (for example: tnsping,
genclntsh, .....) and therefore I can not
complete the installation because I don't make to compile the packages.
Bye.

I have resolved the problem.
I mounted the file system ORACLE in noexec
mode and therefore I could not execute the
commands.
Bye

  • Why is permission denied on trying to download the GB English version of Firefox 3.6.10?

I am trying to roll back to the previosu version of Firefox - v3.6.10 - the GB English version - too see if the problem of Firefox hanging when you search bookmarks goes away. I get permission denied from the FTP site.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.
    * http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/4.0/system-requirements/
For Mac OS X 10.4.11 or Mac OS X 10.5.8 you can look at:
    * http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
Download a new copy of the Firefox program
    * Firefox 3.6: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

  • What can I do to create a disk image when I continue to get the prompt "permission denied"?  I have run the permission repair, restarted the computer and nothing changes.

I want to create a disk image for important information.  I continue to get "Permission Denied" even though I have run the disk utility for repair and verify disk permissions.  Is there a solution for this?

I had same problem as I was trying to build a windows iso following the bootcamp instructions (last evening).  I learned you cannot create a disk image at root due to changes in the operating system made by apple.  As a user (even an admin user) you can only create a disk image below root (such as in your desktop).  Any attempt to creat an image at root will return permission denied.
The Apple Disk Utility (on three macs I have tried so far) defaults to creating an iso image at the root.  If you tell it to create the image - you immediately get a permission denied error.
None of the iso creation instructions I have found on apple site so far speak to this.

  • Permission Denied error on RAC Install Sun SPARC Solaris-NetApps

Our RAC Installation is failing when installing in silent mode the base install of Oracle RDBMS 10.2.0.1. During the process file emtgtctl is copied from node1 to node2. On node1 the file has the following permissions:
-rwsr-s--x (note the user group and set-id "s" is on).
Oracle user is performing the intsall and he is a member of oinstall.
    We get the error:
"Permission Denied" and the install fails.
We try and do the copy manually as well and this fails also.
Any one ever run accross something like this?

is oinstall the primary group for that user ?

  • Permission Denied when calling a method from VB using WebLogic 8.1.2 JCOM

    Hi,
We are calling an java/ejb methods from VB using WebLogic JCOM 8.1 SP2. But
using JCOM, we are getting a error Permission denied when called from VB. We think
that we should update pathch jintegra 2.0 or 2.1 in WebLogic 8.1.2 the to solve
this issue, because we faced the same problen "permission denied" when we used
JINTEGRA(third party software). Once we installed the JINTEGRA 2.1 it solved the
    issue.
So, can anyone help on regard to this issue of "Permission denied" in WebLogic
    JCOM 8.1 SP2.
    Thanks & Regards
    Raghu

I too am experiencing the jCOM error: "Run-time error '70': Permission Denied". The problem appears to be related to a Microsoft Security Patch KB835732 (MS04-011 which, as you indicated, has been fixed in J-Integra v2.1 (FYI, jCOM 8.1 is based on J-Integra 1.5.4, see J-Integra/jCOM versions.
Did you ever get a resolution concerning 8.1 SP2? 8.1 SP3 is available now but I don't see any mention of jCOM updates in the WebLogic 8.1 What's New documention. I can't immediately upgrade (trying to stay on same version as a few other developers I work with) but I am hoping it is resolved in SP3.

  • Crontab: Permission denied

I wanted to install a cron entry to rsync my home dir to my backup server.
    [ebal@myarch ~]€ crontab -e
    bash: /usr/bin/crontab: Permission denied
In the begging i thought that it was something i did.
So i re-installed dcron and tried again.
    The same result.
    I checked the perms:
    [ebal@myarch ~]€ ls -l /usr/bin/crontab
    -rwsr-x--- 1 root users 9948 Jan 19 05:20 /usr/bin/crontab
I synced my abs directory and looked on PKGBUILD
    # by default, any member of group "users" can edit their own crontab
    make PREFIX=/usr CRONTAB_GROUP=users CRONTABS=/var/spool/cron CRONSTAMPS=/var/spool/cronstamps || return 1
The obvious solution is to add my self to users group, but why this is a necessity?
Why by default all the users can not edit their crontab ?

    From the crontab manpage:
Only users who belong to the same group as the crontab binary will be able to install or edit crontabs.  However it'll be possible for  the superuser to install crontabs even for users who don't have the privileges to install them themselves.  (Even for users who don't have a login shell.). Only the superuser may use the -u or -c switches to specify a different user and/or crontab directory.
A posible solution is to set another group for the binary (eg: crontab) and only add the user allowed to run cron jobs to that group instead of users (users is more general). The drawback with this approach is updates might change ownership back to root:users.

  • Scp works sftp permission denied - debug sftp-server process ?

We have a number of servers where we can scp a file on to the server, but when we try and sftp onto the server and put a file we get permission denied. The sftp connection works and we can cd arround just not put a file.
Its not a file/folder permissions problem.
    Any ideas?
Is there any way under solaris 10 to put debug on the sftp-server process? you could under solaris 8 but according to the man pages under 10 the options have gone.

    Try turning on logging.
I typically edit /etc/syslog.conf and add an entry
    local7.info;local7.debug /var/log/sshd
ensuring the entries are tab delimited.
    Then
    touch /var/log/sshd
    Edit /etc/ssh/sshd_config and change
    SyslogFacility auth
    LogLevel info
    to
    SyslogFacility LOCAL7
    LogLevel debug
    Restart everything:
    svcadm restart system-log
    svcadm restart ssh
