Permissions and memory problems with Yosemite HELP!

I have had nothing but problems since I upgraded to Yosemite. My graphics programs crash and run impossibly slow. I have to restart constantly to clear maxed out memory. My internet speed drags to a crawl, and I constantly have to repair permissions to open files THAT I CREATED. I can't open file attachments from Outlook either (I will NOT use Apple Mail - my clients use Outlook, so I have to as well).
I am getting really angry. This is costing me time and money.
Please tell me there is a fix and how to do it.

Bios and memory problem with a P67A-GD80‏

Hi, I'm experiencing 2 problems with this board and I have not yet install an OS in it
first problem : in the bios if I go in the section Green Power, the system froze, I have to press reset to reboot
second problem : if I install 2 stick of memory in the blue slot, it work fine
if I remove them and place them in the black slot, it work fine
if I place 4 sticks at the same time, the system crash and reboot and make a loop
here the stick I try : Patriot PVV34G1600LLR 4 of them
G Skill F3-12800cl9q-16GBRL 4 of them
I see that new version of BIOS is supose to fix some problem with compatibility of memory, the problem is the way the board shut down when I put 4 stick, it's like the board is overload the led don't act like when you press the resset, they kind dim before the board crash

Actually, it's not likely a mainboard overload at all, it's probably the CPU IMC having the problem. Enable of X.M.P. is the last thing you want to do. If the RAM has to be set in this manner, it is not programmed to properly default at the platform's designed specifications. BIOS revisions dealing with compatibility are being worked on to make up for this RAM manipulation.
My apology to the OP in advance for the next comments. Some here at the forum have been advised before, that having to set X.M.P. to get the RAM to work properly (having to OC it) is a wrong way to go about it. The platform must first be able to run at stock/auto/default with no issues 'first', then venturing off to more exotic settings later if desired. This 'forcing' of non spec 'rated' RAM & programming is purely product marketing tactics. As mentioned, with four sticks of RAM, the CPU IMC may require an increase of DRAM V. Here is the official specifications from the current Intel data. This data is not really open to debate. For those that have issue with it, take it up with Intel!

I just recently built my first computer and everything seemed to be working fine. However, my two RAM chips had corrupt memory sectors so I had to replace them. Upon buying 4x256mb chips to replace the 2x512mb chips, I discover that 1 & 2 DIMM slots worked and the 3 & 4 DIMM slots do not. When i try to put RAM chips in there (which work when put in slots 1 & 2) the computer will not even start up. I've tried diff. combinations of slots, even using the old chips (which work but causes programs to crash occationally). But nothing seems to make DIMM slots 3 & 4 to work. Any ideas? How about giving complete specs. I am pretty sure I have an answer that will fix you up but I want to know which CPU core you have and what Bios your running. Those are the two important things on this issues at the moment but save us all trouble and do a complete set of specs for your signature. and then we will help you.

I am not good at RAM setting but the 'Timings Table' shows there is XMP-1600 profile available so I believe it would be enough to turn on that memory profile in BIOS.

Memory problem with 5330 XpressMusic

Hi,
I seem to have a memory problem with my 5330, I have a 1Gb micro disc installed. My son sent me a photo from his phone, when it arrived I got a warning on the scren that 'there is not enough memory to receive messages', I have tried to delete as much as I can, a lot tells me I can't delete it, but I still get the same warning. This warnig shows up each time I switch on the phone. How can I get myself more space? Can I move things from the phone memory to the memory card?

Are you sure you're using a 5330 XpressMusic? Or is it a 5320 XpressMusic? The former is yet to be released, AFAIK.
Assuming that you are using a 5320, try these steps:
-> Move all photos, music, videos stored in the phone memory to the memory card. You can use the built-in File Manager to accomplish this.
-> Delete all files that you would've received via bluetooth, present in your Inbox. You can save them to the mass storage.
-> Clear the browser cache.
-> Clear the Sent Items folder.
-> Make sure you don't have too many messages in your inbox.

Memory problem with my Nokia 3220

Hi,I am new here and I have a memory problem with my Nokia 3220.I deleted all of my stuff in galery exept the BlueSquare theme and Nokia Tune but it says that i only have 483kb free memory and galery has 1,7mb memory taken. I have the same problem recently. I bought my nokia 3220, 3 years ago and all was ok but now I download some free themes from a web site and suddenly I realized that my cellphone has less memory. In the phone options says that I have 2,2 MB in my Gallery when actually I have only 800 KB in my Gallery. I don't know what happen!! Maybe it's a virus or what is the solution?? Can I restart the cellphone ?

Mail and iPhoto Problems with sending photos.
I have this problem that started a while ago and seems to be getting worse.
Here are the different scenarios.
-If I try to share a photo to email within iPhoto, it will insert the image file name in the mail message, but no image icon or opened image. In iPhoto Preferences under General I have chosen to use Email Photos using Mail.
-If I choose to use iPhoto to send the photo, it will compose the message and the photo is viewable. If I send the message i can view the photo within the email I sent to myself. Nothing happens when I double click on the photo in the Mail message. Nothing happens when i control click on the photo in the mail message. Nothing happens when I try to drag the photo to the desktop from the mail message. When I try to save attachments from the email and choose a place to save it, the save button is grayed out and it cannot be saved. When I check the mail message it says there is an attachemnt but there is no file size listed.
-If I use the stationary within Mail app I cannot drag a photo into the placeholder, I get a circle with a line through it symbol when I try. It happens if I try to drag a photo from the desktop or from the media browser within Mail app.
-If I drag the photo to the desktop from iPhoto, I can double click it on the desktop and it will open in Preview.
-If I then control click on the same photo on the desktop and scroll to share/email, the generic photo icon will be inserted in the mail message. If i double click the photo icon in the mail message I get a message it can't be opened because it is empty.
-If I drag that same image to the mail message body the same thing happens.
-If I send that email to someone they cannot open the image file.
What I can do:
- I can drag that same image file on the desktop to my dropbox folder and it will upload. From there I can go on my iPad and download the photo and send it through email just fine.
-I can open the same image file on my desktop in Preview, I can copy and paste it into a mail message and the image will be viewable in the mail message by me and by the recipient.
-I can drag that same image on the desktop to my safari browser window and it will be viewable in the page. i can then copy and paste that image into a mail message and it is viewable in the message. I can then send that email message to myself and i can control click on the image and get all my options. It also shows as an attachment with the size of the image file in the mail message.
I can send that message to someone and they can see the photo and open it fine.
-If I send that same email to me I can see the photo within the mail. If I then drag that photo to the desktop I cannot use it again to put in an email as the same problem happens again.
I have tried all scenarios in my user account, another users account and in a guest account. The same happens in all. I am guessing because of this it is not a corrupt preference file, unless all of the preference files are corrupt. The guest user account I added a new email account so it was brand new and still had the problem.
I am stumped, all and any help is appreciated.

Another problem that may be related….
I have Snapz Pro. I used to be able to save the snaps to my desktop or a folder. Now when I take a screenshot and try to save the file to my desktop or a folder on my desktop I get this message "Files cannot be created in the selected location. You do not have permission to write to the selected location. Please choose a different location." I have found that i can only save the file to the clipboard. I have repaired permissions many times and still I have this problem.

Memory problems with PreparedStatements

I am having memory problems using "PreparedStatement" via jdbc.
After profiling our application, we found that a large number oracle.jdbc.ttc7.TTCItem objects were being created, but not released, even though we were "closing" the ResultSets of a prepared statements.
Tracing through the application, it appears that most of these TTCItem objects are created when the statement is executed (not when prepared), therefore I would have assumed that they would be released when the ResultSet is close, but this does not seem to be the case.
We tend to have a large number of PreparedStatement objects in use (over 100, most with closed ResultSets) and find that our application is using huge amounts of memory when compared to using the same code, but closing the PreparedStatement at the same time as closing the ResultSet.
Has anyone else found similar problems? If so, does anyone have a work-around or know if this is something that Oracle is looking at fixing?

From your mail, it is not very clear:
a) whether your session is an HTTPSession or an application defined
session.
b) What is meant by saying: JSP/Servlet is growing.
However, some pointers:
a) Are there any timeouts associated with session.
b) Try to profile your code to see what is causing the memory leak.
c) Are there references to stale data in your application code.

I'm working for IRM in Li?ge and we developped an application (user interface for an industrial measurement system) in Java (JDK/JRE version : 1.1.8).
We have a big memory problem with this application :
- This user interface is running on a WINDOWS NT PC with 128MB.
- This is the command to lanch our application :

- But when we look in the "Windows NT task manager" for the "jrew" application, the memory increases ALWAYS.
- After 5 days our application is completely frozen and blocked ...???

We had a memory problem with a swing applet in our company. The major reason for this was that we added new components in a JTree and removed them later again, and the components we removed were never garbage collected. This was because with these components we added different listeners, and we didn't remove the listeners after we didn't need the components anymore. After we corrected this, the components where garbage collected.
Perhaps it's a similar problem you have, or I have no idea. Check that you remove actionlisteners, mouselisteners etc from components you want to be garbage collected.

Memory problem with ITS

Hello friends,
we are having memory problem with integrated ITS.. on one application server all memory of ITS is getting exhausted. We think few users take lots of memory and it never gets released.
I checked Note 742048 - Integrated ITS, memory requirement in application server but parameters looks ok. Sometime, when i kill a user session in SM04, some part of memory was released. However i am not able to find which sessions are taking max memory as i do not see any workproess active in SM50.

I did that and it is currently whirring away, had over 16000 emails as everything got imported when I set emails up (only had this computer 5 days). So will see what happens when it stops doing whatever it is doing. Sorry if I appear stupid but first Mac I have owned so everything a bit new. Have managed to get most things working correctly just can't sort this BT email problem out. Will report back later!

Curious Problem with Images - Help required soon

I'm working towards a Monday deadline and this problem with Pages is giving me nightmares.
The images swap but keep the same bounding area. A logo, for example, may have in its place a screenshot.
It is getting out of hand and I need help with this quickly.

You can set the preferred address to bind the registry via the "java.rmi.server.hostname" system property, which can be set via the command line:
java -Djava.rmi.server.hostname=127.0.0.1
or...
java -Djava.rmi.server.hostname=my_host
I think you can also set the property programatically via the setProperty() method in the java.lang.System class

ITunes has stopped working. Problem with iTunes Helper Module

See attached images. Latest version of Yosemite, Premiere and Cuda driver is updated to 6.5.36. Only happens when I'm using Premiere. Given, it's not Premiere CC, is there still support available?

CS6 is 3+ years old and no longer supported by Adobe... so you are mostly on your own when it comes to problems with Yosemite... unless someone who reads this message is using both and can give you some ideas

Just purchased Wndows Vista and having problems with the port for Palm 125

I just purchased a Windows Vista computer and having problems with getting my Palm 125 to sync with the desktop. I get an error message saying: "Com1 not available" What do I do?

Sorry, that didn't work. I get no drop down menu from the Hot Sync Manager for the Serial Port. What comes up often is: "The selected port, COM1, is not available at this time. Hot Sync Manager will open the port when it becomes available."
Could it be the Norton Antivirus Firewall that is preventing the Hot Sync Manager to open the Serial Port? Just a thought. Thanks for your help.
