Can anybody explain why this might occur.

hi,
Are you having any class files which is used as beans in the jsp.
If those beans are taking any external parameters say using any property FIle then this exception can happen.
Check that.

I am trying to authorize my computer and I get an error message: The required directory was not found or has a permissions error. Correct this permissions problem and try again, or deauthorize this computer if the permissions cannot be changed. Help?

I used Terminal to change the permissions on the folder in question.  I followed the instructions in this article:
iTunes: Missing folder or incorrect permissions may prevent authorization
In my case, the folder was there, so I needed the command to change permissions on the folder, not to create one.   I was hesitant to use Terminal b/c I know that if I made an error I could wipe out my hard drive or render my computer unusable.  So to be SURE I didn't make an error, I carefully copied the command from that page and *pasted* it into Terminal.  Also, before I could do anything in Terminal, I had to go change my admin password (it had been a blank password before and that's not acceptable for making changes in Terminal).  I was just super careful when entering my password or doing anything else while Terminal was open (making sure I didn't accidently hit the spacebar or another key, etc.)  And it fixed the problem right away.
What was confusing for me was that the iTunes error message said to change permissions in the FINDER, which is what I was trying to do.  It didn't mention Terminal.  What would really be helpful is if Apple included a link to a page like this in their error message.

  • Updating to iTunes 11.1 gave me a lot of disk permissions errors

I ran a Verify Disk Permissions before the installation of iTunes 11.1 and everything was clean, then I did one after installing iTunes 11.1 and I got a ton of errors. See below:
After running repair permissions several times, running from the boot drive or from an external booted, after uninstalling and doing a fresh install, nothing changed.
I also tried to repair the ACLs by booting from the Recovery partition and using resetpassword command.
I know it's not very important but I like to keep my system in perfect shape.
Come on Apple, after one single update, this is NOT SERIOUS!

Same here. But without knowing for sure why Apple did let this messages appear, in short, you should consider them as not important...at least for now...and here is why for the ones interested in some details about the error:
    Permissions differ on “Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/Dutch.lproj/AACEncoderConfig.nib”; should be drwxr-xr-x ; they are -rwxr-xr-x .
What this means in Unix language is that permissions check is expecting that "AACEncoderConfig.nib" to be a directory and it's not. You can tell because of "drwxr-xr-x" the d letter at the beginning of the string means "directory" and when compared with the actual value "-rwxr-xr-x", the absence of d means that it refers to a file.
Now you might ask why is the system expecting a directory?
Here is a link that describes why: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1452?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
OK...but what is this kind of files .nib?
This files are normally GUI files...and in the past...not so far away...it was based on a directory structure...but iTunes 11.1 is the first released Apple app that is using their new nib file spec. And this is somehow apparent...I mean the error messages we are all seeing when we run the permissions check suggest it.
Then I need to add, as a guess, it looks like this is due to the coming OSX upgrade...I saw another software giving the same permissions errors and even if I cannot say which app, it's one that is heavily tested right now and it will appear on OSX Lion/Mountain Lion and the new Mavericks.
    Hope this helps!

My MB Pro is no longer syncing my iPad in iTunes. It did in the beginning, however I had to change my MB Pro password. Now I get a permissions error message trying to sync: "error storing your authorization information on this computer." Can you help?

First I would just try deleting the SCInfo folder, restart your computer, open itunes and see if you are still getting the error, at that point if you are it is a permissions error with the computer specificaly and not in itunes.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389

I have recently purchased this MacBook used and am trying to authorize it on the iTunes Store but even after uninstalling iTunes and re-installing it with a fresh copy I'm getting this error message: "The required file was not found or has a permissions error. • Read Only Permissions Error

    Hi Guys
I have a major problem with file saving permissions
    Current setup:
    - 5 imac (10.6)
    - 1 mac book pro (10.6)
    - mac xserver
    - Direct attached Raid Array
    Issue:
When user "A" creates new files and folders to the shared drive on the raid array it automatically defaults to read only for all other users, and any time they try to add/delete/create files or folders in the fold user "A" created they get a permissions error. Therefor everybody else cannot edit the files
E.g. user A and user B quite often work on documents together and when user A stores it in the folder user A created then user B can only read it
has anybody come across this error before?
also i have tried changing permissions in get info as it defaults to read only soon as i change it to read and write and close the get info box it reverts back to read only ( the permissions group in called everybody)
Any help would be much appreciated

You can try propagating the permissions on the root of the share, new files should inherit permissions from the parent folder, if that doesn't help, maybe try something with the umask

Not sure how we can correct his permissions problem, and whether authorising or deautorizing makes any difference, with more and more errors keep popping up, this got to be such after an update of the OS, can remember which!?
    HELP!!!

    follow this:
    Launch iTunes
select iTunes Store from the menu on the left side.
sign in via the link on the top right area if you haven't done so already
click the link where you Apple ID email appears, enter your Apple ID password, click View Account, this will take you to a page displaying detailed information about your Apple ID account.
The last item under Apple ID summary should be Computer Authorisations, click Deauthorize All
now reauthorize any computers as needed when the system prompts you.
    good luck.

Log in to your computer using an administrator account.
In the Finder, choose Go to Folder from the Go menu.
Type: "/Users" (without quotes) and click Go.
    If the Shared folder exists
Open Terminal (found in /Applications/Utilities).Warning: This step involves modifying permission settings by entering commands in the Terminal application. Users unfamiliar with Terminal and UNIX-like environments should proceed with caution. The entry of incorrect commands may result in data loss or unusable system software. Improper alteration of permissions can result in reduced system security or exposure of private data. This option requires a non-blank admin password.
Depending on which version of Mac OS X you have, this step will vary:
    On Mac OS X v10.5.8 and earlier, type:sudo chmod -R 777 /Users/Shared
    On Mac OS X v10.6 or later, type:sudo chmod -R 1777 /Users/Shared
    Press Return.
    Quit Terminal.
If the Shared folder does not exist
The following steps will recreate the Shared folder if it is missing and ensure that it has been assigned using the correct permissions.

I have microsoft 8.1 and Adobe 11.1.06 and I get a permissions error everytime I attempt to enter data into a form. How do I get rid of this annoying message?

    Thanks for your questions.
1 Are these local or online documents?
Answer: Both they are IRS forms.  I haven't tried other forms  yet.
    2. If online, in what browser?
Chrome does allow the fill-in with no errors.  IE doe not even  open the
form. The error message comes up when I have saved what I did and  reopen for
    additional editing.
    3. What is the exact message you are getting?
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft  shared\ink\TabTip.exe
Windows cannot access the specified device, path,  or file. You may not
have the appropriate permissions to access the  item.
Once I close the message I can enter data into the field.  When I click the
next field or scroll the message returns.  I checked  the properties and I
am allowed to fill in form.
Again thanks for your response.  I did discover that  I could fill in form
online without the error popping up, but that means I must  have all of my
info prepared so I can do it in one session.

  • After migrating to a new MBP, when saving or opening documents, I sometimes (but not always) get a warning such as: "Word cannot save this document due to a naming or permissions error on the destination volume." Can someone please explain?

I recently migrated from a MBP with OS 10.6 to a MCB with OS 10.8. Some glitches are popping up. Here's the one on my mind at the moment:
When saving or opening documents, I get a warning such as: "Word cannot save this document due to a naming or permissions error on the destination volume." Can someone please explain?

Since this is isolated to a single file, try exporting it to Interchange Format (.inx), then open and save the resulting file as a new InDesign file.
Since the problem occurs during export, that may not be possible. Another option to try would be to copy all elements, page by page, and "paste in place" into a new document the same size. If you used layers, be sure to enable "paste remembers layers" in the layers panel menu.
This kind of problem is often indicative of an underlying font issue. You said there are only three fonts, and you should verify that in Type > Find Font... Try replacing, at least temporarily the fonts in use with something else that you know to be reliable from other documents. You might want to do this before the other steps.
