Persian font

Our company ivolved in a big international project and needs to develop a
private software environment to support branches in south asia, middle east, middle asia...
The IT dept. has choosen java and oracle as base platform, but investigate
to select the building environment for java.
We tested jdevloper 9i trial version for developing UI based on japanees, thai, arabic and and we found it ok, But it can't support persian fonts for implementing
some components such as jbutton, jlabel with persian text.
In persian language some aditional alphabet such as "cheh","geh","ghah"..exist that
not persent in arabic.
We tested jdevloper on MICROSOFT 2000 WINDOWS with persian support.
is any way to add this capability to jdeveloper? or we must choose a diffrent platform such as .net?

Does Sun JDK 1.3.1 supports persian fonts? Can you write a very
small application with a single button and make the persian fonts
work for you?

Persian font in MAC and WINDOWS.

I am using persian font (X-series) on my mac and I haven't any problem with these fonts.
*:X series font are for pupular persian font like the B series.
When i want to save my power point with a type that windows can read/write it the X-series persian font are missing and all of my ducument has a bad clutter!!
I know that i can save my document as .PDF files but when I should do some changes on wndows office I need have good and famous persian fonts that are common between win and mac.

If you want to open the Powerpoint file in Windows, you should also install those fonts at Windows machine too.
They won't show as nice as the Mac due to lack of text anti-aliasing on Windows, but they will work on Windows too.

[solved] my arch didn't support persian fonts

after I installed arch (kde desktop) my arch didn't support persian font for file names and show something like this (( Ø±Ø¨Ø§Ø¹ÛØ§Øª Ø¹ÙØ± Ø®ÛØ§Ù )) and when i changed the file name it shown ?????? ?????? ??.
I can read persian fonts in webpages.
how can I fix it.

Farsi Persian fonts keyboard for iPad.

Hi Everybody,
Does anybody know if Farsi or Persian language fonts keyboard can be use in iPad please?
I looked at the iPad's keyboard setting but the fonts are not included, I thought it may be available by another party.

In the meantime, there are a couple keyboard apps which may be useful. Go to the iTunes app store and search for Persian or Farsi

ResourceBoundle is just file.
steps
1) create file with .properties(ex--filename.properties)
2) then store what u want with key and corresponding value
ex:-- Name =Daya
Age =18
etc.... and save it.
3) if u want Name visible in Arabic than Daya should be like some what like this \u0644\u0644\
ex:- Name = \u0644\u0644\ ( i don't now how can i type arabic unicodes
you need to know arabic latter in unicode
search google for arabic latter in unicode)
the above steps for storing unicode values in .properties
In java application u need to read the properties file
exp:
Locale currentLocale = new Locale("ar","LT");
ResourceBundle labels = ResourceBundle.getBundle("fileName",currentLocale);
String Name = labels.getString(key);
and u have to set the Arabic font to componet.
ex: componet.setFont(new Font("aribic",FONT.BOLD,12);
componet.setText(Name);
First create small application with Label and test it

as far as i know. Jinitiator1.3.1.24 on WindowsXP(locale=Farsi) does support this with Forms 6i patch set 18 applied. I would assume that Forms 10.1.2 also supports it though I didn't test.

After installing the file I had no problem with Chinese characters. But now I cannot see Persian language websites properly. The text appears in a very strange and unreadable form.

Can't display Persian text in JEditorPane

I created html pages with Persian and English text. It displays Persian characters with no problem, however when i get the local html file to display in JEditorPane the Persian chracters appear as ????
can any one help?

Can't write Persian/Farsi in Premiere

Hi all,
I don't know if my question related to this forum, if it is not please tell me where should I post this.
I have a problem typing Persian/Farsi in Premiere. I've Persian fonts and it works just fine on Google or Facebook and in Photoshop and Final Cut Pro but it doesn't work on Premiere. Anybody knows how to change Premiere's setting or enable the Middle Eastern fonts on it?

As far as I know Premiere does not support Middle Eastern fonts. You may want to ask on the Premiere Pro forum.

Type persian in pages

how con i use persian fonts and layout in pages's software? i dont like to use any software at microsoft company. i just want to use iwork for daily work. if somebody could help me. i would be thankful.

Pages has various bugs that make it unsuitable for Persian. Instead you should use Mellel (the best) or TextEdit, Nisus Writer, or Open/Neo/LibreOffice. Microsoft Word for Mac does not support Persian at all, so you don't need to worry about using that.
To type Persian, go to system preferences/language & text/input sources and check the box for the keyboard you want, plus the box for Show Input Menu in Menu Bar, plus the box for Keyboard Viewer. Then select Persian in the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen and type. To see which key does what, select Keyboard Viewer in the "flag" menu.

Copying selected text results in text without spaces.

When I select and copy text from most PDFs and paste it tome some other app, the resulting text has no spaces between words.
Example:
Littleworktodateinsentimentanalysi
Whereas in other app that uses iOS buil in:
Little work to date in sentiment analysis
The weird thing is that in some documents I am able to copy paste from Acrobat correctly.

Do you have thar Persian font in your system? If you don't, copy and paste will produce only garbage.

How to type non-english in office

hi, i installed office 2011 on my imac but i don't know how to change the language of my keyboard to type in office like word or outlook, etc. pls advice

it is not the matter of RTL only. I need two facilities for Arabic or Persian fonts:
- RTL writing
- Lettering
in English typing we don't have any attachment between letters (Except the font of "Handwriting") but in Arabic or Persian (Farsi) almost all letters have kind of attachments, otherwise letters will type separate and meaningless like this as follow:
سلام is correct (=salam means hello)
س ل ا م in-correct (meaningless)
because in some programmes or apps like "Notes" i can change writing language on top of screen and use Arabic writing but LTR. even here i can write correctly Arabic or Farsi! or, in "Outlook" which is a part of Office, Arabic writing is available without any problem but not in Word!
however, i could write in other programme and transfer it to Word but it cannot be a terminate solution ofcourse.
however, unfortunately when i open Word, i don't see any Arabic fonts you mentioned! how should i add these fonts to my Office or Word?
i am new Apple user, sorry for asking.

Farsi Titles in Premiere Pro CS6

I've seen a few posts that seem to be relevant but offer no conclusion about how to create Farsi subtitles in premiere pro CS6. I've seen many posts about persian font being reversed in adobe software, so that might be my next problem.
Adobe phone support offers no suggestions.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks but no cigar, Joe Bloe. Shortly after post #9 is post #14 in which they conclude that it's not possible to work with arabic subtitles in premiere pro. Adobe tech support was also not able to point them in the right direction.

Thanks Alan, Sorry I took a while to repsond - I've just spent 1 hour 18 minutes on the phone with Adobe (their bill).Turns out that what I am asking for is altogether impossible in CS5 (Premiere, PhotoShop Indesign etc.). It is also not possible in PPro CS6 but is possible in Photoshop CS6. So they suggested I spend just short of $1,000 upgrading my Master Collection CS5 to CS6! Other than that, they had no solution for me. On another forum someone suggested importing a .pdf to Photoshop and importing crops of that image into PPro. It works but my word it's laborious! Your suggestion might well work (you are a genius so it's likely) but I do not read Arabic and would not recognise a non-proportional Arabic font if it turned up in my Aphabetti Spaghetti! So, thanks for your input - I'm now a day behind schedule so I'm going to go the PDF / Photoshop route. Wish me luck.

Sorry I can't help any further, but my exposure to Arabic is zero too - just a flight from the UK to New Zealand and back via Dubai on Emirates. I had about enough exposure to the safety video in Arabic to recognise some of the spiel in Arabic by the end of the reurn flight!
My dodge with highlighting just the widely spaced characters and turning down (i.e. making nearer to zero), the kerning for those characters alone works for I's etc in English, but I haven't tried it with Arabic.
