  • Email PDF in outlook from a MAC seperates pdf file into seperate .ai files

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread!
I'm not an adobe user. However I have many Adobe users on my network who create pdf files (using a variety of adobe products such as photoshop, illustrator, acrobat) and email them to other employees, customers, vendors, etc...
When the email is received on the other end the single pdf attachment has been broken down into separate files.
    example: 9-6-11.pdf     will become: 9-6-11.pdf; 9-6-11.ai; 9-6-11.ai
The pdf file still opens as it should however this is starting to cause some confusion in the office. Any idea why this is happening and how i can make it stop?

    Hi,
As far as I know, the message preview feature is not available in Outlook 2011 for Mac. Since this forum is for general questions and feedback related to Outlook for Windows, you can post a question in the Outlook for Mac forum to confirm this:

It's recommended to download and install
Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office
    programs.

  • Can not cc oneself using outlook 2011 for mac

Hello, can anyone help me solve this problem? I can send and receive emails using MS Outlook 2011 for Mac on my MacBook Pro, but can not send email to myself or cc or bcc. What shall I do then? Thanks in advance!

At this time Internet Service Providers are closing port 25 to avoid spammers, at least in my country.
    I must use port 587.
And normaly you must autentificate the SMTP conection.

  • I cannot send email from Outlook 2011 (for Mac). But can send from other applications

I have Outlook 2011 for Mac - I have validated the settings and up until yesterday could send and receive emails using my .mac account.
I can send using icloud and mail (I use Outlook for work purposes) and can send in outlook using my work accounts.
    My settings
    Incoming server - imap.mail.me.com
    Use SSL to connect checked.
    Outgoing server - smtp.mail.me.com
override default port checked (port 587)
    use SSL to connect checked
    authentication - Username and password.
I have rebuilt the database - no effect.
I continue to get the error
    "Mail could not be sent
The server for account "mac" returned the error. 5.7.8. Bad Username or password (Authentication failed..)" Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try rentering your password"
I have validated my username and password and rentered them both.
I have emptied the outbox and retried but nothing works.
    Thanks for the help.

Update - I now have it working.
am not really sure what exactly fixed it.
I changed a lot of things but my setup now has the following which I think fixed.
    outgoing server  - p06-smtp.mail.me.com
override default port checked - port now 587
on more options button changed it to "use incoming server info".

  • I have an iMac running Yosemite 10.10.1 & Outlook 2011 for Mac.  For a while, sent emails went to a sent folder on the iMac so I have a collection of sent emails there.  How can I move them to a sent box on my server so I can see them on other devices?

I have an iMac 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5 with 16 GB memory and 1.12 TB storage running Yosemite 10.10.1 & Outlook 2011 for Mac.  For a while, sent emails went to a sent folder on the iMac so I have a collection of sent emails there.  I have attempted to move those sent emails from the iMac to my email server (IMAP), but without success.  Is there a way to move them to a sent box on my server so I can see them on other devices?  Many thanks for any help you can provide.

Go to: Apple > System Preferences > Universal Access and in the Seeing tab make sure that the Display Enhance contrast: is set to Normal.
Alternatly, try holding the  ⌃⌥⌘ (control command alt) keys and then pressing the , (comma) key a few times.

  • MS Outlook 2011 for Mac will no longer automatically send and receive email since upgrade to OS 10.9 Mavericks.  Does anyone know of a solution?

I have been having trouble with Outlook 2011 for Mac since updating to OS 10.9 Marvericks.  I have tried updating the database and identity.  I can get email if a go to each account and try to download it.  But email will not come automatically and can I send and receive all accounts.  Does anyone have a solution?  I do not want to lose my email, contacts and information.

I am also finding that searching in Mail for emails in this account is leading to false negative results. It's astonishing that I can search for an email I know is in the Inbox list yet not find it unless I scroll down to it manually and clicking it. Then it will show up in the results if I search again. I just did "rebuild" a day ago (have to do that every few days or so to get Outlook Exchange emails restored again anyway), so I doubt that this would fix the issue, but even if it did it's ridiculous... do I really have to abandon Mail and move to Microsoft Outlook on my mac to read my emails? Mail is currently FAILING to work for those of us who have to deal with Microsoft servers... which must be a huge # of customers, Apple.

  • Transfer emails from outlook 2011 for mac to Outlook 2010 for windows

    Hi,
I want to transfer emails from outlook 2011 for mac to outlook 2010 for windows.
Outlook 2011 exports mails only in olm format and there is no option to import olm files in outlook 2010.
I can drag and drop emails from outlook 2011 to a finder folder which saves emails as eml files. How can import eml files into outlook 2010.
    Please help

    Hi,
    Thank you for using
Microsoft Office for IT Professionals Forums.
    Base on the research ,
We can try the steps below to add the registry sub key. This will open all .eml files that are in the file system using Outlook, including *.eml attachments on messages in OE/WLM. Any replies will be sent
    using Outlook.
    ===========
Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the
registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem
    occurs.
    1.Type
regedit in the Search field on the Start menu or press
Windows Key+ R and enter it in the Run command.
    2.Navigate to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Microsoft Internet Mail Message WLMail\shell\open\command
    Or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Microsoft Internet Mail Message\shell\open\command
    3. Change the command line (here its "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Mail\wlmail.exe" /eml:%1)
to the following line, exactly as shown below but correcting the path to Outlook.exe to match the path on your computer.
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\OUTLOOK.EXE" /eml "%1"
    Thanks for your understanding.
    Sincerely
    Rex Zhang

    Hi kellyo68596735,
That capability is a function of PDFMaker, which is currently only available on Windows.

  • How to transfer emails from PC/Outlook to Mac/Mail

I just bought MacBookPros and iPads for my small business.  After many many hours, i was ensured that the iCloud/Mac combo was the solution for me.  It has turned out to be extremely difficulat migrating from PC/Outlook.
I will not get in to details now, but after 27 hours, we have finally been able to migrate our files and emails over.  However, my sub-folders in my Outlook Inbox that i have created over the years did not migrate over.  All my emails in my inbox did, but not the subfolders.  How can i transfer those over from my PC/Outlook to my Mac/Mail?

Looking at other posts (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2664208?start=60&tstart=0) this is what I found to be a helpful answer for many:
This is by far the easiest and risk-free way to do this that I found.  I've made a few switches in the past 12 months after changing from Windows, thinking Outlook would be the best option and now regretting it I wanted to change back.  No need to buy add-ons or software, apply for gmail or anything else outside of your Mac.
Drag all your mail folders from Outlook onto your desktop and then you can bulk select them through the Import Mailbox option in the File menu in Mail.
    Thanks JChp53!
    JChp53 wrote:
There is a longish way to do this.
In Outlook, Select the folder you want to move (If there are folders within the folder, you have to select each individual subfolder, as the subfolders won't copy along with the main folder, only the messages in the folder will copy). Click and drag the selected folder (ex: inbox folder) to a new folder on your desktop. I couldn't figure out a way to select all the folders, so i dragged each folder and subfolder from Outlook into the folder on the desktop. Once you're done copying all the Outlook folders, open up Mac Mail. Go to File --> import mailboxes. Then select "Files in mbox format" and click continue. Then select desktop, and the folder you dragged all of your Outlook folders into. Hit "Choose." Mac Mail will import all of these folders, and when it's finished, will tell you that they are under the folder labeled "imports" in Mac Mail, and you just have to move all your subfolders back into their main folders.
Like I said, it takes a little while longer than I would like, but it worked for me and now I have all my old mail from Outlook in Mac Mail.
Hope that helps (and that I explained right)!
