Persistent Help Icon

Hi,
How would I display a persistent "question mark" icon next to any label that has contextual help? There is a rollover question mark but the users have requested one that is always displayed.

Hello,
In the Template of "Required with Help" and "Optional with help" you can change the "After Label" to:
</a><a class="t1RequiredwithHelp" href="javascript:popupFieldHelp('#CURRENT_ITEM_ID#','&SESSION.')" tabindex="999"><img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#alert_info.gif" width="20px"></a></label>And you'll get a little image on which you can click.
(I don't like it, because it clutters your screen with the same images....).

F4 Help icon is displaying left hand side in ALV Grid

Hi,
For only one field, F4 Help icon is displaying left hand side in editable ALV of custom report which is using custom table. other fields f4 on same report is showing right hand side. The difference i see for the field F4 showing left side has domain values maintained and f4 showing right hand side has value table maintained. Please help me to display the F4 on right side.

Help icon for inputListOfValues in a table

Hi,
In our application, we have an inputListOfValues component inside a table. We are using JDev 11.1.1.4.0. We have a requirement to add online help to this component.
However, even though the helpTopicID is specified, the icon is not shown anywhere. I have observed that when this component is used in a form, the help icon precedes the component itself.
Can someone please comment on this behavior.

Sounds like a case for https://support.oracle.com (you could try testing on 11.1.1.5 first, to see if the behaviour is any different).

Calender and input help Icons is not visible in portal

Dear Experts,
There is a webdynpro application in CRM back end system. When the application is launched in CRM UI, It display the screen elements clearly. But when the application is called from portal environment, the calender icon and input help icon (icon in the ui element) is not visible.but it is working properly if clicked on the correct place.
In Development and Quality environment its working properly.I have searched OSS notes, but found none.

I need to reset Firefox, but the Help icon (first step) does not appear in the Menu.

I am attempting to reset Firefox (for Linux/Ubuntu 12.04 LTS), which has gone a bit wonky... but following the procedure, the first thing is to select "Help" (icon "Question Mark) and proceed from there. Unfortunately, there is no help icon displayed in the choices as it is shown on the Firefox website.
It's rather like trying to find a corner in a round room.
As an aside, amongst the problems I am experiencing, is the appearance of green, grey, and black rectangular boxes in the browser window. Visually, it is like the text that usually appears there is being "masked" or something.
(Perhaps) A propos of nothing.. this seems to have happened on the heels of a regular Ubuntu Update.

As Balamurugan said,that is also a way to do this.
But jquery increses overhead for just small thing.
So put something like this in your <head> section of master page
<style>
.s4-help {
display: none !important;
</style>
This is the easiest way to do this :)

Search help icon in table

Hi,
While using OVS(Object value selector) search help or any other search help in table column, We are not finding the f4 help icon in the table column.
Is there any method to get the f4 help icon?

F4 help icon and Drop Down icon turned to input field in EHP4

Hi,
I am facing one strange problem, I have a system in which ECC6 with EHP3 was installed. Everthing was fine so far.
But as soon as we have upgraded to EHP4 package level 2 Web Dynpro Applicaiton UI rendering problem started.
1. F4 search help icon changed to input field like ui which does not takes any input but responds when user clicks on that field with normal F4 Search Help screen.
2. Drop Down icon also changed to input field like ui which does not takes any input but responds when user clicks on that field with normal Drop Down appears.
Any resolution for this?

Yes, I also faced the same issues. I guess some patch levels you need to apply. Please approach your basis team for the same.
One moe thing, As a temporary solution, try to increase the width of those UI elements so that you can be able to the dropdown icons and F4 help icons clearly.

         I'm using explicit search help for the field WBS Element in one of the Ztable. In maintenance screen of this table the F4 help icon is being displayed on left hand side instead of right side of the field. Please help me with your suggestions and what might be the problem.

I used that WBS field as one of the field in ztable. When i want to maintain data or display the contents of this ztable, F4 help of WBS element column is shown left side.
      I try showing that in figure format.

in select option im referrin to a data element, this data element has a domain which has value range.
if i press F4 on the select option, im gettin the values in the search help but the icon is not appearing..

Select TABLE-FIELD GOTO>Search help>For field.
If you have Search help you can assign here or else you need to create search help through SE11.

ADF help icon does not appear

I am trying to use the adf component attribute helpTopicId
I have tried setting in adf-settings.xml the OHWHelpProvider

In any case the help icon was not displayed and I did not get erros in the logs.
Any suggestions ?

Can you paste the contents of adf-settings.xml, and the jsff, .jspx code where you references the helpTopic
The file should be present at .adf/META-INF/adf-settings.xml

Removing help icon from LoginProvider

I am new to Sun Portal Server 7.1 Update 1, and am looking for a way to remove the 'help' icon from the LoginProvider for the devauthlessanonymous user. I am making use of the Developer's Sample portal that comes bundled with the product, and want to eliminate all icons that appear in providers/containers/channels.
Within PSConsole, for the have updated the helpURL property to be "" instead of the default en/desktop/login.htm, per the Portal Server 7.1 Technical Reference guide. After doing so, the icon remains but instead directs the user to login to the web server doc root (e.g. /porta/docs).
Are there any other parent provider/container/channel helpURL fields that I need to update as well, or do I need to enter a different value for the helpURL field in the LoginProvider for the devauthlessanonymous user?

Remove Help Icon

Hi,
I am customizing the TopBar View and I was wondering how you would remove the help icon?? I want to keep the link but not have the image.

What I usually do is check the element in the browser's developer tools - for e.g. Chrome's "Inspect Element". This way I can identify the id of the element in the ADF Faces source file (.jsff).
In the folderViewer case the element id was "cilhelp" and the tag in the .jsff is below

Iphone help icon

I have an iPhone 5s 32G version 8.1.2
I have seen other iPhones with a help icon/question mark icon. My iPhone is missing this. Is there a way to download this to my iPhone. My girls 5c came with it installed on her phone. She is able to pull up the iPhone users manual. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
