Persistent Missed Call Icon

This is simply a minor annoyance, however the little yellow missed call icon remains on screen at all times. I have applied the memory cleaner and have emptied ALL my folders. Yet a "1" followed by the the little yellow telephone icon still remains on my welcome screen.
How can I clear this?
Many thanks

  • Frozen "missed call" icon-HELP!-

I can not get rid of a "missed call" icon. I deleted all the call logs and pulled out the battery and so far nothing has worked. I do not want to wipe out the software and reinstall it but if I have to I guess I will.

    Hello,
Did you delete the call logs using your device or the Desktop Manager. If you haven't tried the Desktop Manager option, you can try to delete just the call logs database by using Backup and Restore, and then click on Advanced. Then scroll down to the Phone Call Logs then clear it out. The Advanced option came in handy when I wanted to clear out all my calendar entries.

  • Missed calls icon on BlackBerry 8800

Hi Everyone, I am hoping someone else has had this problem before.
I have a BlackBerry 880 handset that has 6 missed calls showing on the top of the home screen, but I have cleared all of the missed call and phone logs as stated elsewhere in these forums.
Anyone know how to clear this? This is incredibly frustrating!
    Thanks

    HI,
Wipe the Call Log database fomr the handset using Desktop Manager
    - Backup/Restore - Advanced - Phone Call Logs - Clear.
If the Phone Call Log is greyed, the Keep the HH plugged in and go to Options (Spanner) - Advanced - Service Book and delete the Desktop[Sync} service book.
Now the Options wil be able to be highlighted and you can Clear the Database option selected.

  • N80 - Missed call indicator not appearing on Activ...

    Hi All
As title - the missed call indicator doesn't appear on the active standby screen on my N80 (when I've got missed calls, obviously). It does appear on other screens (applications and menus). All other icons do (new SMS, new Voicemail, USB, wireless etc). Firmware is the latest version (AFAIK, it's the .017 version, dated 03-05-2006). Is this just me, or do all N80s have this problem (I'm on orange, BTW).
    Thanks Si.

    Hi
    Thanks for the replies.
I've been in touch with Orange, and I'm waiting for them to get back to me. Strangely, I spoke to Nokia support and they said the missed call indicator shouldn't appear on the active standby screen (i.e. the 'U' shaped arrow underneath the battery meter). I'm not convinced - has anyone else got an N80 they can test (phone yourself, hang up after a couple of rings, then choose "exit" on the notification message - do you get the missed call icon top right on active standby, or just on the menus / application screens?)
    Thanks
    Si.

  • Missed calls - a missed call is shown on the screen when the phone is locked. I slide the icon an the phone calls the back to the missed number. The phone still show a missed no. It should clear the icon since I obviously noted the missed call. Any fixes?

Ok, a wish for the next iOS release, just a small anoying thing.
    Scenario:
I have a missed call, the screen is locked. The name of the caller shows up on the screen, I slide the phone icon and phone back.
When I've ended the call there is still a notification of a missed call, i.e. the same missed call that I just called back. To clear the missed call red circle icon on the phone icon (in the unlocked state and the notification on the locked screen) I must open the missed call list. Then it clears.
My wish is that the phone understands that it should clear that missed call after I returned the call since I have obviously noted it.
-> Is this something apple will update or is there a setting that I could change?
    /Erik

You have to return the call via the recent list or tap the red missed call entry in recent list otherwise even a hundred calls won't turn the balloon off.

  • Text/missed call indicator icons no long showing

This is a minor thing, but I prefer to have the area below the clock and above the list of icons to show me alerts such as that I have a text msg or a missed call or a voicemail.  It was doing this before but for some reason now all I get is the blinking red light but the alert icons are no longer showing up.
I looked through the forums and couldnt find anything also tried to mess with settings but haven't come up with anything.
    Thanks if you can help.

Emails and Texts will always have an audio and vibration (if turned on) cue when something comes in.  Text messages and toasts will turn on the phone to show you the message for a brief period same as the iPhone and any Andriod device.
In regards to a notification light, no such thing in Windows Phone Nokia devices.
All you have to do is turn on the phone and on the lock screen you should see your missed calls, emails and texts.  Toast messages will not be displayed on the lock screen.  We'll have to wait for Windows Phone 8.1 next month to get a notification center type interface.

  • Mail Icon Display like Missed Call or  SMS Message?

Is it possible to have a mail icon or message display when new mail is received via a POP3 mail account (non-push)? Basically, the exact same thing that (if you have it turned on) pops up for a missed call or an SMS message. I'm looking for the same thing, just for new email messages.
    Thanks

Wish it was, it's not. If everyone submits it as a feature request, we might see it eventually.

Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

The small red circle that pops up to reflect missed calls has disappeared. It still works for texts but not calls.

  • How do I get rid of the number next to the "phone" icon for missed calls on iPhone 4?

I realize that this number is telling me the number of missed calls and/or voicemails.   However, the number remains on the main screen after I have looked at the missed call (opened "phone" and then "missed").  I can only figure out how to get it to go away when I call the number of the missed call from the missed call menu, which I don't always want to do.  How can I make the number go away without calling the number for the call that I missed? It's probably a silly question but thanks for helping!

I have same issue I dont want to call it and why should I have to go to Voicemail when there is no voicemail?? My screen did go dark and when I relit it it went away...very weird???

    Hello there, Abomosa.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some practical steps to try for troubleshooting issues with an application not performing as expected:
    iOS: Understanding multitasking
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4211
When performing Step 2, I would recommend closing all applications that are running. If you perform Step 3 and the issue persists, you may want to try resetting as well:
If an app doesn't respond to your input, or doesn't perform as expected, do the following, testing after each step:
    Check for app updates.
    Force the app to close.
    Restart your device.
    Update your iOS device.

Additionally this article offers some great information for Display issues as well:

  • I don't have any missed call but my black berry 8100 says that I have two.

Hi, I have a blackberry 8100, one day I did a reset of my blackberry removing the battery and then putting again and turning on my device, then, one person called my two times, but I didn't answer, and then like it's normal, it shows me an icon with the number 2 and an icon of a phone with an x, that means that I had two missed calls. I checked and were the lost calls that made that person, but the ERROR is that happened 15 days ago, and the icons stills here, for example if somebody calls me and I don't answer it shows me that I have 3 missed calls, and no 1 missed call like it will be normal. What can I Do? after that I have made resets of my blackberry but the number two stills there, please help...

If you have a rogue New Message icon on your Homescreen, or a negative count (-1), any one of these solutions could clear it, or reset it to zero:
    Try these options:
Hard Reset the BlackBerry by holding ALT, CAP (right Shift key), and DEL (or pulling out and reinserting the battery)
    View Messages > Saved Messages
View Messages > View Folders, check each folder (missed calls, SMS in and out boxes, MMS in and out boxes, Saved, browser, phone logs etc)
Scroll to top of message folder, over the date heading, click or press menu to MARK PRIOR OPEN
Change your theme and see if it persists, and change back to your desired theme. (Options > Theme > select.)
    Wipe and reload your OS.
