Persistent Route in leopard?

Hi I need to put some persistent routes on a MacBook Pro with Leopard, I managed to put roads through the terminal and go well, there is a problem that it has to be the root, so if you reboot the computer to lose routes to rerun the root, is there any way to make persistent routes with a normal user??
A greeting.
the team is on a LAN but the server when I log q is external and I need to plot routes.

  • Persistant routes sometimes not working

    This is the situation
We have a MSSQL cluster of 2 servers the SQL03A and SQL03B windows 2008 R2 enterprise on vmware 5.5
There are 2 persistant routes, they are for the backup:
    10.64.67.171 255.255.255.255 10.37.4.30
    10.64.67.169 255.255.255.255 10.37.4.29
Sometimes , one?s a month, the persistant route does not work and the backup wil not work.
We delete the persistant route and we make the persistant route again, than it wil work again.
    What could be the problem?

You need to use root print to list the available routes. When the problem gets reproduced again, please run it to see what are the available routes.
Also, you can double check that you are creating the routes properly. Here is an article about how to create persistent routes: http://www.itsyourip.com/networking/howto-add-persistent-static-routes-in-windows/comment-page-1/

  • LYNC Server Persistent route

    Hi Folks,
need your help to solve a problem on My LYNC EDGE Server. I have a setup of LYNC Server 2010 infrastructure and I already have added persistent routes for all our subnets on EDGE server for internal facing LAN card using
route add command but after adding the route also whenever I removed the gateway from internal facing LAN card I am getting the problem in sharing desktop but if I add the the gateway in internal facing LAN card everything is working fine...
could someone help me to solve it out.
    Regards Rishi Aggarwal

I am not 100% sure I understand which routes you have created, but you should have a default gateway configured on your external card to the internet and no default gateway on the internal card.
You should then create routes for each of your internal networks using netsh (or route add) through the internal edge gateway.

  • Lync 2013 - EDGE (do you need static persistent routes - yes or no?)

    Hi there.
Two edge servers in one edge pool.
Every edge server has 1 LAN IP, and three DMZ ips. There's only a gateway on DMZ nic.
Do you need to put static persistent routes or not?
    bostjanc

No, nothing like that.  The routes would only be needed so the server knows how to get to additional subnets that it's not connected to.  Since your default route is the Internet, the entire Internet is already covered.  All you need is additional
    internal subnets now.
For example, if you have another internal network that user's live on in a separate office with the IP
192.168.128.0 and the way for your server to get to it is to send packets to the router at 192.168.2.1 you'd want to add:
    route add -p 192.168.128.0 mask 255.255.255.0 192.168.2.1
But you'd only add subnets you're not directly connected to and should be reached via the Internal NIC (not the External NIC which is covered by the default gateway).

  • Windows Server 2012 R2 Routing problem

    Hello everybody
    I have the following problem:
Server with two NICS, one (IP 172.30.8.X) it's configure with a default gateway (172.30.8.1), the other one (IP 172.30.32.X) doesn't have a default gateway and has a static route to reach another network (172.15.28.X)
Everything was worning fine, no reboots, no updates installed; suddenly the specified route for the second NIC is not working. When we try to reach the 172.15.28.X network, it goes thorugh the default gateway. Please your help.
We tried deleting the route and re-add it again, but doesn't work; also verified the TCP/IP configuration on all NICs everything it's ok.
Here's an output of the configured routes on the server:

  • Using the 'route print' Command in Windows 7 - Detailed Screen Captures

The 'route print' Command from an Administrative Command Prompt in Windows 7 provides a variety of useful information.  Let's take a look at the output of a 'route print' Command to examine how the output data is grouped and to understand its logic.
Let's begin by simply issuing the following command:
    route print
An Administrative Command Prompt output shows the following the following sections of the Command Output:
Figure 1 - Issuing the 'route print' Command from an Administrative Command Prompt in Windows 7
Observing the output of the Command indicates there are 5 Major Sections.  The Sections include:
    Interface List
    IPv4 Route Table
    IPv4 Persistent Routes
    IPv6 Route Table
    IPv6 Persistent Routes
On this Workstation a single Physical Network Interface is visible and has been assigned a DHCP Address of '10.1.1.36'.
The IP Stack for this Workstation is as follows:
    IP Address: 10.1.1.36
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway: 10.1.1.1
    DNS Server: 10.1.1.1
    DHCP Server: 10.1.1.1
    DNS Suffix: YYY.YYY.isp-provider.net
Most of the time our focus is upon the IPv4 Routing Table output.  Here are the sections of the IPv4 Routing Table output for reference.
Figure 2 - The IPv4 Route Table output listing the 'all networks' route through the Default Gateway.
The next IPv4 Routing Table entry indicates '10.1.1.36' (the Host Workstation' is a member of the '10.1.1.1/24' Network and would route packets out the '10.1.1.36' Interface.
Figure 3 - The Workstation Host at '10.1.1.36' is a member of the '10.1.1.0/24' Network Subnet.
The next IPv4 Routing Table entry indicates '10.1.1.36' may receive a Broadcast from the '10.1.1.0/24' Network (as noted by the Subnet Mask of '255.255.255.255').
Figure 4 - The Workstation Host at '10.1.1.36' can offer a Broadcast on the '10.1.1.0/24 Network' (as noted by the 255.255.255.255 Subnet Mask).
Another IPv4 Routing Table entry focused on Broadcast Addresses is the following.  The Host Workstation at '10.1.1.36' may offer Network Broadcasts to the '10.1.1.0/24' Network.
Figure 5 - The Workstation Host at '10.1.1.36' can receive Network Broadcasts from the '10.1.1.0/24' Network (as noted by the '10.1.1.255' Network Destination).
The next IPv4 Routing Table entries (3 of them) are focused on the Loopback Network Values of '127.0.0.0/8',  '127.0.0.1/32' and the Loopback Network Address of '127.255.255.255/32' respectively.  These Addresses provide Services to the Local Host (or Loopback Adapter).  The Loopback Network Destination of '127.0.0.0' provides access to the Loopback Network through '127.0.0.1' the Loopback IP Address.  The Loopback IP Address of '127.0.0.1/32' receives Limited Local Broadcast to the Loopback Network while the Loopback IP Address of '127.255.255.255/32' provides Limited Broadcast to the Loopback Network.
Figure 6 - The Workstation Host at '10.1.1.36' uses 3 Addresses for Services to the 'Local Host'. All 3 Addresses incorporate the '127.x.x.x' format.
Next the Routing Table includes 2 specific entries for the Multicast Network (224.0.0.0/4) for both the 'Local Host' or Loopback  Address of '127.0.0.1' and the Host IP Address of '10.1.1.36' that are '224.0.0.0/4' .  These are used for Multicast Network functions.
Figure 7 - The Workstation Host at '10.1.1.36' includes 2 Multicast Addresses (starting with '240.0.0.0') reserved for use through either the Loopback Address '127.0.0.1' or the Host IP Address '10.1.1.36'.
The last 2 Routing Table entries provides Services through Limited Broadcast Addresses.  The Network Destination of '255.255.255.255/32' are the Limited Broadcast Address Ranges for both the Loopback Adapter '127.0.0.1' and the Host IP Address '10.1.1.36'.
Figure 8 - The Workstation Host at '10.1.1.36' includes 2 Limited Broadcast IP Address Values to Service both the Loopback Network '127.0.0.1' and the Host IP Network '10.1.1.36'.
Finally, upon understanding the sections of the Windows 7 Routing Table there are additional functions available when using the 'route' Command.  This Blog entry is focused solely on output from the 'route print' Command.
Summary: In this Blog entry focused on using the 'route print' Command from an Administrative Command Prompt in Windows 7.  Each of the defined routes for a Workstation running Windows 7 Enterprise were reviewed for reference.

  • Leopard SSH problems

I get a lag when I try to SSH to our server. I've been searching around and there were a bunch of SSH/DNS problems early in Leopard's lifetime. How have they not fixed this? I'm running 10.5.8.
I found this thread on this forum. This is the response that helped me:
*Re: Upgraded to leopard and now ssh is HORRIBLY slow*
*Posted: Nov 2, 2007 12:56 PM in response to: davshirley *
*ok. it is slow if my /etc/resolve.conf contains what dhcp is putting there:*
    *nameserver 192.168.15.1*
*If I add two nameservers that I control and allow recursion from my location I get fast connections:*
    *nameserver 67.131.250.9*
    *nameserver 67.131.250.12*
    *nameserver 192.168.15.1*
    *Now here's the interesting part:*
*The two nameservers that I am adding to /etc/resolve.conf are the VERY SAME nameservers that my router at 192.168.15.1 is set to use and assign for all dhcp clients. This suggests to me that there is a bug in how ssh handles dns lookups since the first /etc/resolve.conf should work (and does work fine in 10.4)*
HOWEVER, all that works is removing the DNSs from the list. That allows me to SSH right in. No lag. But then I get no internet. If there are DNSs in the list, I get slow SSH but I get internet.
Any ideas? Is the problem my router or Leopard itself?

    Hi all,
Not sure if this is related or not, but I am having problems with ssh hanging after a password is entered. The hang is interminable - I will come back tens of minutes later and it will still be hanging.
My machine is usually connected wirelessly to either a network on campus or at home.
Here is a typical output from ssh -v:

How install routings in Solaris 10 6/06 ??It depends on what your routing script does. Solaris 10 introduces persistent routing, so you may just need to add the route once (persistently), then let the system take care of it.

  • AD authentication for routed local subnet

    Good day,
I'm testing the addition of a routed local subnet to existing network and seem to be experiencing trouble with AD authentication.
    Primary network:
    Subnet: 192.168.0.0/24
    Default GW: 192.168.0.1
    PDC/DHCP/DNS1: 192.168.0.2
    BDC/DNS2: 192.168.0.3
    Routed network:
    Subnet: 192.168.17.0/24
    Default GW: 192.168.17.1
    DNS1/2: 192.168.0.2/192.168.0.3
DHCP relay is configured and functioning.
Primary network gateway has persistent route for subnet 192.168.17.0/24 hopping via router IP 192.168.0.122.
Ping tests OK both ways and internet is browsable from clients in routed network.
Problem occurs when clients in routed network attempt to access domain resources in primary network. Using
net view //test-host results in 5 minute pause and then "Access Denied". Unable to view //test-domain/netlogon
I have added routed subnet to existing default-first-site in AD Sites and Services.
I'm certain I'm missing something simple here and will appreciate any advice.

Hi Christoffer, thanks for your reply.
There are no firewall rules active between the two subnets, however our primary network gateway is a Forefront TMG MBE firewall. To my knowledge this should not interfere with the inter-subnet routing however there could be access/policy rules that determine
how TMG (localhost) responds to traffic from routed subnet. Will need to look closely at this if AD authentication is not at fault.
The nltest queries also seem return successful responses:
    nltest /dsgetdc:[DOMAIN]
    DC: \\[PDC]
    Address: \\192.168.0.2
    Dom Guid: [GUID]
    Dom Name: [DOMAIN]

Solaris 10 has persistent routes. Just set them up and mark them persistent.

  • Routing and Remote access - internal network not accessing internet through public network!

    Hello,
    Good Evening to all.
I got an issue in routing and remote access on windows 2003 server.  This server is already configured as File server, domain server and Application server. Also configured as router (through routing & remote access) for connecting three different
network to each other. So This server has three NIC card installed and each NIC card represent separate network.
    three different network are - 192.42.160.0/24 , 192.42.161.0/24, 192.42.162.0/24
Three NIC card installed on server as with following IP address -
    NIC -1 = 192.42.160.220 , Sub- 255.255.255.0 , Gateway - NO
    NIC -2 = 192.42.161.220 , Sub- 255.255.255.0 , Gateway - 192.161.220.112 (This ip for internet access so 4g router IP)
    NIC -3 = 192.42.162.220,  , Sub- 255.255.255.0 , Gateway - NO
Now the issue is I can reach to internet & (also pinging to router ip 192.42.161.112) from only one network that is - 192.42.161.0/24 , BUT when I trying to access internet from another two network (192.42.160.0/24 & 192.42.162.0/24) I cant access
it and moreover can't ping to internet router ip - 192.42.161.112...
So how I can access to internet from other two network also?
I was already configured static routing for all three network but still I was not success. really I don't know what exactly static routing it should be done in routing & remote access so that all three network can reach to internet?
Sorry if I am not able to explain properly. Please let me know if you need more explain on this...
    Thanks to all.

    Dear Milos,
I am happy to hear from you....
1.- Actually the setup was done long before by another guy and right now I don't want to change it.
Nice to hear from you! Thank you so much. Actually this is first time I am using technet forum upon the suggestion from one of the my friend. So any your help from you will help me a great in this issue...
I ran the route print command and given follow are the results.
I have only added the default route as per the below routes. Please guide me know how to add other static routes for three network.
