  • "Server Not Found" Message when downloading Flash Player

    Hello,
I am trying to download Macromedia Flash Player using my
Firefox browser, but when I click on "Download Now" an error
    message appears:
    "Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at fpdownload.macromedia.com.
    * Check the address for typing errors such as
    ww.example.com instead of
    www.example.com
    * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's
    network
    connection.
    * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or
    proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."
There is no such problem when I use Internet Explorer, but my
preferred browser is Firefox. Is there any reason why Firefox can't
access the server? Or is there another site I can download Flash
    from?
I downloaded the latest Firefox version a couple of days ago,
    v1.5.0.2
    I use Windows ME.
    Thanks,
    HeywoGr

  • Most search engines are not working, only Google Search works and I get 404 file not found error when clicking the links.

I have been trying virus killers, malware software from microsoft, I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it, I used the option to change all my options to the basic default installed options, I am able to search without problems using Internet Explorer on all search engines, Google Search engine works in firefox browser; but all the links give the 404 file not found error. Links from my Gmail account do not work either...giving me the 404 error. Firefox is much faster than Internet explorer however, this link problem makes me wonder if firefox is really any good.

#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

  • Exchange Server 'Not Found' message when adding

I was successful with Snow Leopard in working with my Exchange Server using the settings on my Windows machine and dialing in through the VPN.
When setting up my new MacBook Air that came with Lion on it, when I try to attach to the server the same way (not migrating, setting up new) it tells me it can't find the server.   It's not that it's the wrong version, just says 'can't find'
I can ping it by dns name from the terminal, so I know it is visible on the network.
    Any suggestions?

  • Firefox (& Safari) open incorrect (undesirable!) website or I get a 'server not found' message.

Firefox (& Safari) redirect both Google searches and web addresses to an undesirable Chinese website (www.5542.com). They have both become very slow and often give a 'Server not found' message when accessing various sites. I believe it could be malware(?) or similar. I've tried to block the unwanted site but it keeps on appearing. I'm running two macs and it's happening on both of them. I'm not especially experienced with web jargon etc. so please speak slowly with any instructions! Thanks for your help. Andy

Thanks for your help Moses but these Malware removal links are for Windows and I'm on Mac OS 10.4.9 on the laptop and 10.5.6 on the main machine.
One of the problems is that I can't do too much Googling for help before I run into the www.5542.com or 'Can't find the server' problems. Any more suggestions or other useful forums I could try?

  • Firefox periodically shows "server not found" message for Verizon/Yahoo email. Often self corrects in 5 to 10 minutes ?

System is Windows VISTA. While on Verizon/Yahoo mail Firefox will lose the connection and shoe a "server not found" message. Explorer will connect with no problem to the email server. The problem self corrects with in 5 or 10 minutes but this may happen 5 or 6 time in a day.
Is this a Firefox problem with proxy access. Settings appear to be the same.

i forgot to mention , that when i striped this machine back down to 10.3.7 and before i re built i did do a hardware check with the original install Disks [3] and every thing came back clean.
the weird ness with the colors on window, if i pass a app like text edit over the area , the color will not cover the app but stay in the background.
when i first saw this color thing i had the preference pane out and was moving it around on screen and the colors were bleeding off of the preference pane onto the screen.
if you have any idea as to what is going on here let me know.
    thank you

  • Server not found message

after updating firefox server not found message comes up. i tried all the suggestions in the troubleshooting section for this error in addition i reinstalled firefox completely. internet explorer is still working

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Firefox (3.6.10) opens websites when hard wired to router, but when using wireless I get message: SERVER NOT FOUND FIREFOX CAN'T FIND THE SERVER AT SEARCH.AVG.COM. My homepage is http://www.google.com/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official. My anti-virus is AVG free 8.5.448. What can cause this?
If Work Offline is checked in Firefox File, I can get to Google search site. When I un-check it I still get the Server Not Found message

Did you check the connection settings?

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

  • No internet, "PPPoE Server Not Found" message. Same problem with both old and new modems.

    Help please!
My internet connection with my old Westell 6100 modem was working fine, then quit all of the sudden and would not restart. The DSL and Data lights on the Westell modem were both green. The Internet light alternated between red and off.
I tried every troubleshooting thing I could think of:
Powering down and re-starting the modem and computer.
    Resetting the modem.
Checking all of the wire and jack connections.
I plugged my computer ethernet cable straight into the modem, bypassing my router.
I tried both Windows and Mac computers.
I plugged the modem directly into the network interface on the outside of my house to bypass all of my house wiring.
I checked all my phone jacks with a telephone tester to make sure both phone lines were working and not reverse-wired.
I made sure I did not have a DSL filter installed on the modem line.
Verizon Tech Support did a line test and told me the line was fine but that there might be a problem with either my modem or something at the "central office" (not sure what that means). Verizon also sent me a new router as well -- a D-Link DSL-2750B.
The new D-Link router also does not connect to the internet (same problem). The DSL, Data, and Internet lights are all green on the D-Link. I have the computer directly connected to the modem with a new ethernet cable. I repeated the above troubleshooting steps. I went into the router configuration 192.168.1.1 and ran the modem's "Internet Troubleshooting" tests.
There were two error messages on the router configuration screens:
1."PPPoE Server not found" error message is shown on the summary screen.
2."No internet infrastructure present. Please call your infrastructure provider." is shown in the "internet troubleshooting" test results.
Verizon had me change some settings inside the router configuration -- no dice. Verizon ran another line test. A "Level 2 Tech" took over the call and told me that he thinks that the cause of the problem is that the outside wiring coming to my house is reverse-wired. How can this be true since my DSL worked for 2 years before this, my phone line tester indicates my phone lines are wired the right way, and my router reports "PPPoE Server Not Found?"
Verizon is sending out a repair tech to check the outside wiring but I don't think that is the problem at all.
    HELP!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you're getting DSL sync (solid DSL light), this sounds like a case of a bad line card to me. I've seen it happen before where it wasn't an account or route issue to the network.

  • Page Not Found Error when clicking on Crystal Report Viewer print icon

    Hi,
I am working with ASP.NET 2.0 and crystla reportXI release2.
I am getting "Page Can not be Found " error when clicking on Crystal Report Viewer print icon.
Could you please tell me how to get rid of this error?
    Regards,
    Smitha

This sounds like a postback issue. Does your application handle postback by putting the report in session?
There is a [sample|http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2SP2/en/en/CrystalReports_dotNET_SDK/crsdk_samples_aspx/data/crsdk_net_tutorials_115_en.zip] to look at on our website. It was created with Crystal Reports XI R2 and Visual Studio .NET but the code will be the same.
A short pseudocode would be something like this:
    Dim rptDocument As ReportDocument
If Not Me.IsPostBack or Session("Report") = Nothing Then
    rptDocument = New ReportDocument
    rptDocument.Load(sGlobalPath & "\myreport.rpt";)

Hello the following article below will assist with a more thorough cleaning of Apple Software.
The following Apple programs should be uninstalled in the order listed to reduce the amount of reboots needed. Keep in mind not all programs in the list below will be listed in your Add/Remove or Programs and Features list. So if you can not find the exact name or something similar then continue down the list.
If you have never uninstalled Apple software below by removing all the programs listed but always just removed iTunes and Quicktime. Try just the basic uninstall of what is listed. If it still does not work. Repeat the step and then check out link below.
    1. Uninstall the following Apple Software in the following order to help reduce reboots
    -Apple Mobile Device Support
    -Apple Software Update
    -Bonjour
-Windows iPod Updater (Name might be different but look for anything with the word iPod)
    -MobileME Control Panel
    -Quicktime
    -iTunes
    *Now reboot the computer
-If step above did not resolve. Repeat step above then follow article below

If this is something inside omni.ja, I think you need to reinstall Firefox. Omni.ja is inside the program directory. I would get the installer and install Firefox manually. It probably would not hurt to remove the Firefox program directory first. You can get that installer here:
