Person I'm talking to can't hear me
When I'm driving on the highway and talking to anyone, it is very hard for them to hear me. I've heard complaints about this numerous times. What do I need to do to fix this?
Try changing the volume settings on the device.
Volume Key:
Press the long volume key on the side of the phone up or down to adjust the volume while on a call.
When you are around noisy surroundings you might want to try a noise canceling headset or device to block out background environmental noise. By blocking background environment noise, noise canceling headsets or devices should allow you to be hear more clearly and be heard by others more clearly.

When I try to, the person on the other side can't hear me, and all I can hear are noises. But when I use apps like Viber or Facetime, I can make calls just fine! What may be the problem?
Did you fix the problem? I have the same problem and it has been pain in the neck.

l am using Iphone 4, l still did not receive update to version 8.02 and when l receive or call somebody the person in the other end can't hear me while sometimes its working perfectly normal. Help guyz any ideas
The iPhone 4 is not capable of running iOS 8. iOS 8 requires a 4s or higher.

Lets see if we can get you back to taking calls normally again. Start your troubleshooting with the article below and go through checking to making sure that you are up to date with your iOS as well as a simple restart on your iPhone.

It's been more than a week since I had this problem.
As I said I can mostly hear the person on the line but the person on the other line cannot hear my voice.
How can I fixed this problem? Do I have to go to the apple store? My warranty has expired and I can't get to the apple store easily becasue it's too far from where I live:( Please help.Does your iPhone say headphones when you adjust the volume, even when they are disconnected?
You can try disconnecting and reconnecting the headphones 5-6 times or restoring the iPhone.
If that doesn't do it, you can setup service for the iPhone online or have a Genius take a look at it. -
I was on facetime and the volume just stopped working and the person I was on with could not hear me. I ended up turning and leaving it off and then it worked. Any insights on why this happened? Should I take it to someone to check it out? I have only had it 2 weeks.

When making or receiving phone calls I have to be on speaker for the other person to hear me. What can I do to fix this
Had the same problem when my dock connector of the iphone got wet. The phone thought that it was docked the whole time so the mic and speaker didn't work. The iPhone actually has 2 microphones. One is at the bottom by the dock connector (which is used for normal calls), and the other is a tiny whole at the top by the headphone jack, which is used for speakerphone. I would say that either the bottom mic needs replacing, or the dock connection is faulty or damaged and it is not able to use the bottom mic.
Best bet would be to get it to Apple who will normally fix this kind of thing without fuss. Hope that helps. -

hey guys, i had my CIT300 unplugged for a while, and just plugged it in the other night. Well, now everytime im on this phone i can hear the person but they cannot hear me. This goes for both Skype and landlines, do any of you guys know why this would be? It's very very important i get this fixed so any help would be greatly appreciated.
If the device is connected behind a router, consider forwarding these ports 16384-16482.

Hi, my iPhone 4s has started to play up! When I make or receive a call I can hear fine but the person on the other end can't hear a thing! I have done all the obvious things like make sure mute is not pressed and about a month ago I did a system restore to cure a battery charge problem ( did not solve but I am persevering). Any ideas???

My iPhone 4s got too hot and since any calls I make or receive, the person on the opposite end can't hear me at all... Any suggestions?
I have had this happen to me on 3GS, 4 and 4s. Usually the solution is one of the following:
1- If your volume indicator says headphones even though they are not plugged in, then:
Stick your headphones into the headphone jack and then remove quickly.
2. If that does not work Power your phone off. Then when restarting Reset the phone by pressing the home button and the power button at the same time until the apple logo appears.
3. Make sure you have not chosen to send audio to an Airplay device such as Apple Tv.

I can't hear anything during a phone call
This just randomly started up this morning, and the nearest Apple store is 2 hours away, so I'm turning here. I have an iPhone 4 (not the S) and the newest IOS. When someone calls me, my phone rings like normal, but when I answer, I can't hear them at all. I can make phone calls, but when I do, I can't hear the phone ringing before the person answers, and I still can't hear anything on the other line. I only know that the call went through because the screen says a call is in progress, and the people I've tested it on can hear me just fine.
I've tried resetting my phone to factory settings, and I've turned it off and on multiple times. I don't know what else I can do. My phone is in good shape: a hairline crack in the screen, but it's just cosmetic. Nothing else is wrong. I hear all the alerts and everything else I'm supposed to hear, and I was able to have normal conversations as of last night. I dropped my phone early this morning from about 3 feet off the ground, but it's in an Otterbox and well protected. I am somewhat panicking that I can't talk to people, and I'm not eligible for an upgrade until July. Also, I did not purchase the extended Applecare plan.
If someone could please help, I would really appreciate it. I'm planning on taking it to Best Buy once they open. I don't know if they can do anything, but I'm stuck.One more thing:
I suspect that this problem is not related to the “headphones mode problem” because I have no problems with the laudspeaker.

CALLERS CAN'T HEAR ME - AND I'M NOT PUSHING 'MUTE'
Frequently when I answer or make a call on my Droid X the person on the other end can not hear me. I can hear them, but they can not hear me.
I just replied to a recent post of someone having the same problem, but just realized the post was marked 'answered' so no one would probably look at it. The link posted in the 'answer' does not work, however, so I'm re-posting my question here....
The problem happens without warning and not on every call...and I am NOT pushing the mute button by mistake. I have taken out the battery many times which will fix the problem temporarily. I contacted Verizon yesterday and the tech said something about the 4G and 3G signals being changed....she had to 'reset' something, after which she told me to call *228 to re-program my phone. It worked for less than 24 hours, and today, it happened again - twice. I had to pull the battery out for a few minutes and then restart the phone. It seems to go less time fixed in-between the battery resets.
The Verizon tech said I could get a replacement re-furbished phone - but I have read online so many problems with refurbished phones. I am hesitant to reload all the apps and settings on to another problem phone.
When I call customer service they act like I am the only customer with the problem. I've done a google search of the issue and have found MANY with the same problem, but NO solutions or reason for the problem. I've spent a lot of time with customer service and they are shooting in the dark it seems - with no real idea of the problem or how to correct it.
