Person responsible based Authorization in Projects is not working for me

Hi,
Does 'Person responsible' based authorization for WBSE works for the WBS element only, or for the hierarchically sub-ordinate non-WBS objects (meaning Networks, Activities, Materials etc) as well?
Details:
(Authorization objects: C_PROJ_VNR and C_PRPS_VNR)
-- User1 is assigned with role TESTROLE1. This role has the Project manager based WBS & project authorization objects, with person number 101.
-- User2 is assigned with role TESTROLE2. This role has the Project manager based WBS & project authorization objects, with person number 102.
Following sample project is created by a super-user:
PROJ123 (Details: person responsible - 101)
WBS-1 (Details: person responsible - 101)
    WBS-1/1 (Details: person responsible - 101)
      NETWORK1
      ACTIVITY11
      MATERIAL111
      MATERIAL112
    WBS-1/2 (Details: person responsible - 102)
      NETWORK2
      ACTIVITY21
      MATERIAL211
      MATERIAL212
Now the requirement of super-user is that WBS-1/1 and its subordinate elements (Activities, Materials etc) should be editable only by User1. And similarly, WBS-1/2 and its subordinate elements should be editable by User2 only.
My issue:
Although WBS-1/1 is not accessible to User2, BUT User2 can edit the subordinate elements (NETWORK1, ACTIVITY11, MATERIAL111, MATERIAL112) of WBS-1/1. I do not want User2 to have edit access to subordinate elements of WBS-1/1.
Above issue is with User1 for WBS-1/2 as well.
Hope I am clear in explaining my issue. Can anyone please help me understand the standard authorization concept of Person responsible based roles. I suspect that I am going wrong somewhere but I am not able to identify the problem.
I want to allow access of a part of project to one user, and another part to some other user. And I do not want to go for an ABAP option if I can do above using basis authorizations.
(Above mentioned problem is not just with part of projects, but with a complete project as well.)

Are you aware of any authorization objects which can restrict access to Networks, Activities, Material components and Milestones, using 'Person responsible' or any other suitable field? I hope you got what I am looking for.
Restricting WBSE based on 'Person responsible' without restricting sub-ordinate elements is not much useful according to me. It helps only with simple project structures (having only WBSE) and nothing much. Right?

Personal Data not working for an employee in ESS

Hai All,
I have configured Personal Data in ESS. But, for a particular employee Personal Data is giving the below mentioned error when he edits the data. The error happens when he edits and clicks on Review or when he clicks on the dropdown for Nationality(Only for this field, the error occurs) and selects a value from that dropdown.
As I searched in the forum, I found that we have to search ST22 for that user. In ST22, it is throwing 4 errors:
1. UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION CX_HRPA_INVALID_INFOTYPE_DB. The exception 'CX_HRPA_INVALID_INFOTYPE_DB' was raised, but it was not caught anywhere along the call hierarchy. Termination occurred in the ABAP program "CL_HRPA_TIMECONSTRAINT========CP" - in "COMPUTE_INSERT". The main program was "SAPMSSY1 ".
2. SYSTEM_CANCELED. The current program "CL_HRPA_TIMECONSTRAINT========CP" has been terminated by another mode.
3. OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED_NO CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL. Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLHRXSS_PER_MAC" - in "HRXSS_PER_CLEANUP".
The main program was "SAPMSSY1 ".
4. SYSTEM_CANCELED. The current program "SAPLHRXSS_PER_MAC" has been terminated by another mode.
My questions are:
a Why it is not working for a particular employee?
b Why it is working for other employees?
c Did I miss out some configurations?

Thankyou for the reply. But the user has entry in the infotype. Likewise, it is possible to change data from PA30 transaction also. The problem occurs only when I try to change data through ESS.

Fingerprint utility is not working for normal users - Tecra M11

Hi All,
I installed windows 7 pro in Tecra M11 laptop and the Toshiba finger print utility is not working for normal users.
It is working only for domain administrators. The TFPU is not working for, normal domain users, local users, local administrators. If we run the utility it will ask to enter the windows password and once we applied the password then the message saying "entered password is not valid" will prompt even if we are trying to use the utility first time.
If we try with a domain admin account it will work without any problem. Can somebody help me to trouble shoot this issue?

Defaulting Rules Not Working for Repair Orders in OM?

Defaulting Rules have been setup for return line & standard line based on few conditions and it is working fine if we create a sales order directly from OM (Manual SO)?
But in our project we are using Depot Repair(Repair Orders), we tried to create a service request and then converted to a sales order here defaulting rules not working for repair orders?
Please help me to solve this issue ASAP.

IPhone 6 External Mic not working for Siri/Dictation

I am finding that the external mic on my iPhone 6 works for phone calls and voice memos, but does not work for Siri/Dictation. When I plug in the earbuds, they work for everything (including Siri/Dictation).
Was chatting to Apple support who had me reset all settings. I thought that worked, but realized that after a reset, Siri is off and I was talking to "Voice control" (which works). When I turned Siri back on, it does not work.
I have two questions for the community to see if you can help:
1- I have been assuming this must be a software problem since the mic does work for non-Siri access. But is that true? Is there a hardware component that Siri depends on which could be faulty here?
2- If it is software, what action should I try to address it? I have done a reset all settings already and that did not help.

Hi, everyone. I talked to Apple Genius at Apple Store last week, she said it should be a software issue and I needed to reset my iphone 6 plus as a new device and I can not use the backup restore from my iCloud, it was because the microphone bug or glitch can be in the backup also. Ok, followed her advice, erased all contents and set my iphone as a new device , the microphone worked for an hour, but went bad again. I used "voice memo" app from Apple to test the microphone. It is the best tool since it doesn't involve any provider's network and it doesn't need another person's phone to listen and test. If you can hear your voice recording clearly, then the mic works. I tested it 3-4 times a day for a few days now, half of the time the mic doesn't work. So, set as a new device isn't working. The issue is intermittent and it comes and goes as it likes, so very annoying. I carry my Apple EarPods with me in these past few days ust in case I need to make important phone calls. Will need to go back to Apple Genius this weekend for sure. Will give update after the weekend.

Auto_lexer (stemming) not working for other languages(other than english)

We are planning to use AUTO_LEXER instead of MULTI_LEXER and observed that stemming is not working for German where as it is working for English when I use AUTO_LEXER. I even used query templates but of no use.
But when i use MULTI_LEXER, creating sub lexers for German and Enlgish, Stemming is working for German also after changing the session language and setting stemmer of wod list to German (Which is expected).

According to the online documentation, Oracle only supports stemming for English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Japanese. Oracle does not support Russian stemming, although you may have gotten some accidental results, due to identifying it as a different language and applying stemming rules for that language. The following manual sections show the languages available for the index_stems attribute of the basic_lexer and stemmer attribute of the basic_wordlist:

I don't work for Oracle, so I don't know why they do things the way they do.
So, you need to stick with the basic_wordlist for stemming, not the lexers. However, you may get better performance by combining the multi_lexer with the basic_wordlist, as the multi_lexer eliminates time spent on automatic language detection. But, you need to remember not to use the index_stems with your lexer, since it will conflict with the wordlist. I am not experiencing any time problems as you have. Please see the demo below. I have provided the whole script below that, so that you can reproduce it on your system. If you still have problems, then it may be due to differences in versions.

I have an older iMac 5,1 and the disc drive no longer works. I was hoping that I could the Apple USB super drive as a replacement, but the info on the super drive page says compatible with iMac 2012 or later. Does anyone know why it would not work for me?

A reply to similar question (Q & As , in product page Apple Store) says:
"...dissable the internal reader hardware from devices setup. Then plug the external usb superdrive and that's it." Answered by Enrique T from Lima Oct 25 2013.
If you can locate an external Apple USB 'Air" superdrive for earlier model MacBook Air, that should work. The newer one for the Air is the same as for iMac, now.
You may be able to use other brands of external USB optical drive with your older intel-based iMac, as some of them function capably. A few should also be able to see system discs or other bootable utilities on DVD.

OC4J JSP Debugging not working for all the jsps

Initially I was not able to debug jsps using Eclipse and OC4J. The jsp debugging started working once I made the below changes:
1) global-web-application.xml is modified
Changed the attribute development="true" in orion-web-app
Added the below init param for the JspServlet
<init-param>
<param-name>debug</param-name>
<param-value>class</param-value>
</init-param>
If the jsps are present in a sub directory under the webcontent none of the breakpoints are working. I am still be able to view the jsp pages on the browser.
Tools: Oracle 10g Application Server Standalone version(10.1.3.5.0), JDK5, Windows XP, Eclipse Indigo
Project Structure:

This tells there is not enough main memory (not disk space) for the program to run.
- You can look the dump in ST22, it will have suggestions on increasing the ROLLAREA??, you can forward that to Basis.
- Most likely you will not have any more memory to assign so the above may not be feasible. Try to rework your query so it works with less data.

Additional Fields for ESS-Business Card Not Working for Certain Countries

Dear Experts,
We were trying to configure the additional fields to be displayed in Business Card - Overview Screen for all countries. We don't have problem configure and get the new fields display for Malaysia (Molga = 14) but having problem for the field to display for Hong Kong (Molga = 27) and Singapore (Molga - 25).
The strange thing is I am following the same steps as I configured for Malaysia. Somehow it is not working for Hong Kong and Singapore. As I understand, there is only 1 place to configure in SPRO for this requirement:
Personnel Management -> Employee Self-Service -> Service-Specific Settings -> Own Data -> Customizing of Personal Information Screens -> Determine Fields for Business Card on Overview Screen
Please help!

The note 1159911 provided is within SAPK-60304INEAHR. Thus, I don't think this is the root cause of this inconsistency base on the Highest Support Package installed in our system.

CancelUrl is not working for me

I am using Oracle E-Business suit 11i application (11.5.10.2).
When i trying to access the below url its redirect oracle home page.
https://iprodappsx.a2.abb.com/OA_HTML/fndvald.jsp?username=iatp&password=Oracle123&langCode=US&cancelUrl=https://iprodappsx.a2.abb.com/ilogin&requestUrl=APPSHOMEPAGE
This url will redirect to below URL,
https://iprodappsx.a2.abb.com/OA_HTML/OA.jsp?OAFunc=OAHOMEPAGE
But when logout from oracle home page its redirect to Oracle login page with below URL,
https://iprodappsx.a2.abb.com/OA_HTML/AppsLocalLogin.jsp?langCode=US&username=IATP
Instead of that I need to redirect to cancelUrl (https://iprodappsx.a2.abb.com/ilogin) what i sent with cancelUrl parameter. But now its not working for me. Please help me if i missing anything or anything i did wrong.
As oracle standard the logout is working according cancelUrl but for me its not working.
Its very urgent for me, So please any one help me on this. With in two days its go for live. I spent more time on this but not yet cleared.

Hi Sameer,
There's no version of Windows Vista that is supported, regardless of service packs. You can always upgrade to Windows 7, though.
Your other option is to use Brackets, the open source editor that Edge Code is based on. It still supports Vista for now. The downside is that Brackets lacks some features of Edge Code: Kuler integration, Edge Inspect integration, and Edge Web Fonts code hints -- although all of those except Kuler are offered as optional Brackets extensions too (you just have to install them).

BPM Worklist: Searching in custom views does not work for protected flexfields !

Hello,
Have mapped few protected attributes in my .task file. Also created the corresponding labels on target SOA server. I am able to create custom views using these protected flex fields.
But what I have observed is keyword based search is not working for custom views using protected fiexfields.. however it works fine with public fiexfields.
Any pointers on this? Am I missing something in the configuration?

Before EHP4 upgrade this functional module working fine, but after updated users are not visible.
We have chekced if the users are assigned directly users are visible but indirect (Position Based) assignment users are not apprearing.
Pl check the fucntion module with given roles below and identify the root cause,

I do not think this BAPI is meant to be called by anyone but the application using it, and its functionality may therefore change without notice.
What are you trying to achieve? Maybe there's a better way to do that...

Hyphenation not working for Russian language

Hello All,
We really shocked to see that hyphenation not working for Russian language, anyone faced this issue? Please let us know how to rectify this issue since we need to complete one of the project with Russian language.

@Kasyan: Thanks for the response, I'm using 5.5 and facing this issue while select the language 'Russian' no where found the hyphens and in most of the places looks loose line due to missing of hyphens.
