Personal cloud application using my own server?

Is anybody using a personal cloud application for use on your own server?
I like Dropbox a lot, but would like to have a more private and larger storage cloud.
Thanks,
Luke

I'd like to have online storage that was being put on server space of my own.
Basically I'd love my own version of Dropbox in which I have 4 or 5 computers that all can connect to these files.
Luke
BTW: I own a bicycle shop and I'd like more of the projects and pricelists in one place, but can be easily viewed and worked on from different computers.

  • Can I build the LCCS Server in my own server?

    I want to use LCCS to build a programm. But I must use my own server to create room and valid users,Can I build my own LCCS Server? Is it feasible? Thank you for your help.

    No, LCCS is a hosted service only.
    If your application uses a limited (and fixed) number of rooms and you don't need an application server for other purposes, you can create your rooms in advance in DevPortal or using DevConsole.
    But if you need to be able to dynamically create new rooms (i.e. because you are creating accounts for new users) you do need a server-side component, but I am assuming that in this case you would need one anyway to manage your users in a database or such.

  • How to Protect two Apps running on two different Hosts using same OAM serve

    Hi All,
    I am new to OAM. I am trying to configure SSO for an Application using OAM 11g server which is already protecting another Application(Oracle EBS) on a different host.
    Oracle EBS application uses the Oracle EBS Access Gate to collect the credentials.
    Now what should I do to protect the second application say APP2. Should I require to install a new OHS instance and new Webgate for this purpose ? or can i use the one already used by EBS application ?
    Please reply me soon
    Thanks,
    Prabhu

    You may use the same OHS instance by creating additional reverse proxy filter for your application 2.
    Or create another instance of OHS and configure webgate, OAM policies for your application 2.
    All the applications configured with OAM will be configured for single sign on and no special configuration needs to be done.
    Here are my comments to your questions:
    1) Can you tell me why we should have different OHS and Webgate to protect the 2nd application ?
    - As per best practices, you should have different OHS instances (+webgate) for different applications. But you may also configure the same OHS for multiple applications.
    2) If we have different OHS and Webgate, then the same OAM session will be shared between the applications ? Basically the user will navigate from the first application to the second application by clicking a link on the first application's page. Will the OAM_REMOTE_USER header be passed on to the second application in this case?
    - Yes, if you have different OHS and Webgate, then the same OAM session will be shared between the applications.
    To pass the header variables to any application, add the variables in the application's OAM authorization policy responses.
    3) By default OAM 11.1.1.3 sets the userid to the OAM_REMOTE_USER? or we should manually set a response header ?
    - To be on a safer side, set this header on the authz policy's response tab and put the vallue as $user.userid

    Hi. It looks like your code is not finding the mp3. At least,
    I can reproduce your error code by removing the mp3 from the
    directory, or renaming it.
    Btw, if you test with FF instead of IE, you'd see the error:
    Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2032:

    at KZFlash_fla::Sound_2/KZFlash_fla::frame1()
    Hope that helps.

  • Compile application using command line

    I want to be able to compile a personal profile application using the command line. Up until now I've used an IDE (WSDD) to compile and test my application but I need to be able to compile it using just the command line.
    Any help on the matter is much appreciated, thanks

    Thanks for the reply but unfortunately i'm not trying to compile a MIDP application, which is what the link refers to. I did however find out the -bootclasspath arguments i needed.

  • Building JAX-WS Clients for Oracle Cloud Applications

    Hello,
    We are looking for a tutorial on how to build JAX-WS clients for Oracle Cloud Applications using Eclipse and OEPE.
    Do you know if there is any document about this, or any document that can help us on this task.
    Thanks and regards,
    Gustavo.

    A JAX-WS web service client with OEPE would be the same for a cloud service.

  • I want to use my Time Capsule as a central 'hub/hard-drive' in order to keep all my working files in one place. I then plan to use my laptops/desktops as peripheral devices for editing and creation of these files. Is it possible? Create a personal cloud?

    I want to use my Time Capsule as a central 'hub/hard-drive' in order to keep all my working files in one place. I then plan to use my laptops/desktops as peripheral devices for editing and creation of these files. Is it possible? To create a personal cloud?
    Can someone advise as to whether i can do the following:
                                Future Internet connection -------------------TIME CAPSULE (containing all files) -------------- Backed up on the WD 2T Hard-drive I have
                                      (not connected yet)                                         I                                                          (*connected to timecapsule physically)
                                                                                                            I
                    I                                         I                                                I                                                              I                                                I
          Macbook Pro                             iMac                                       HP (PC)                                             OLD Macbook Pro                         iPhone
    (used for remote working)       (Used for home working)     (used for heavy CAD and rendering)    (not being used for anything at the moment)        (& iPods)
    I am looking to have all my files in one place as i am hopelessly disorganised. I know the online clouds are a good solution (used Dropbox at work and uni for 3 years) however i am wanting to create my own 'dropbox/icloud' at home. So whenever i get back home with my laptop, any work i have been working on whilst out that day is updated to the timecapsule, and then ultimately as i turn on the other devices, they update to those newer versions of the files. Please tell me that the 3TB time capsule i have can do this, otherwise it feels rather overpriced as a wireless storage device?
    Another note (to those in the know) If i am to be working on large files (REVIT/SOLIDWORKS/KEYSHOT/CREO/AUTOCAD) - is the timecapsule connection good enough to support editing and updating these files?
    I know i may be asking a question that many have before, but as a bit of a technical novice I wanted a clear-cut answer to my specific circumstances. Your help is greatly appreciated.
    (*can i use this WD hard-drive that is connected to the Time Capsule as a back up? so that the time machine back-ups/any back ups are also backed up onto this one? can the WD be a backup for the TC?)
    Kind Regards
    Joe

    The diagram was supposed to look more like this......
    Internet ---------TIME CAPSULE(containing all files) --------WD 2T Harddrive

  • Use of Xerces Parser in out application with Oracle App Server 9.0.4

    The problem in brief:
    Our product is a web-app that runs under various Application servers.
    One of our customers who uses Oracle App server, recently upgraded from 9.0.2 (9g) to 9.0.4 (10g), and our product no longer works with the latter version.
    Our product uses XML parser Xerces 1.1.
    In 9.02 it was possible to replace the App servers parser with Xerces 1.1. In 9.02 it was possible to replace the App servers parser with Xerces 1.1 (We modified the opmn.xml file, setting the Java options for our oc4j instance bootclasspath with xerces parser). Hence, our product works.
    In 9.0.4, apparently, Oracle moved to a different parser, and it no longer allows the parser to be replaced. If the bootclasspath is modified with XERCES(tested various versions of xerces) parser, rightfully so ORACLE Application server does not start.
    Unlike other prominent Application Servers (such as webshpere etc,) the Oracle application server does not support separate JVMs or namespaces for web-apps either.
    We like, oralce application server, OC4J instance for our application to use the xerces parser version qualified with our product. We understand, replacing the XML parser for the entire Oracle Application Server is not supported function.
    Since, Oracle Application Server is loading the oracle 'xmlparserv2' at system class path, though the applicaton has xerces.jar in application path (either in AppLib or web-inf/lib directory, Its not a class loading issue) it is not getting used (since javax.xml.parsers.documentbuilderFactory is mapped to oracle parser).
    So, it looks like the only option available to us is to modify our product to use Oracle's XML parser. This is a major software change, and we want to keep it as last resort option.
    Any suggestion and help will be higly appreciated.

    Raju --
    Thanks for the intelligent posting on a difficult issue for you.
    I wasn't aware of anything specifically being introduced that prevented the bootclasspath technique from working** in the 904 release.
    For 904, the bootclasspath needs to be put in the start parameters tag of the java-options tag.
    <process-type id="home" module-id="OC4J" status="enabled">
    <module-data>
    <category id="start-parameters">
    <data id="java-options" ... -Xbootclasspath/a:/java/lib/xerces.jar"/>
    </category>
    </module-data>
    </process-type>
    You can also try copying the xerces.jar into the jre/lib/ext directory so it's loaded by the system classloader and see if that works**. This will put xerces at the extension level so
    **these workarounds are not supported and will put you in an unsupported situation if a problem occurs.
    The good news is that have taken steps to clearly enable the separation of container versus appplication class spaces in thenext production release (10.1.3) of OC4J. We will be providing a new classloading model which cleanly separates the two namespaces and allows applications to provide their own versions or distributions of class libraries with no collisions with the OC4J runtime libraries.
    I don't know of any easy ways to do what you need -- other than reworking the app to use JAXP so that the parser implementation used is pluggable as you kind of allude to. If it was possible, I'd do that rather than hard coding in the use of the Oracle XML parser.
    But just to reiterate, switching in xerces at the bootclasspath level is not a supported operation since it may have an effect on the OC4J runtime operation.
    cheers

  • Can I use my new airport time capsule 3TB for my personal cloud

    I am trying to get my own personal cloud. Can I use my new airport time capsule to accomplish this?

    The Time Capsule stores data on its internal drive and not in the cloud. If you want it actually put in the cloud, it needs to be separately set up with a hosting or storage service.

    how do i use my own domain name with creative cloud?
    i don't want to post web pages from behance.net. i want to use the domain name i have for my material. is there a hosting service for this? if not, can someone give me some pointers so I can publish?
    thanks!!
    Lori

    http://forums.adobe.com/community/behance is where you would ask about publishing to "something else" from that program
    I use OLD Dreamweaver, and upload my HTML with an FTP program to my own web site... I will GUESS you can do that, if you can save HTML to your hard drive to then be able to upload to your web site

  • Using Team Foundation Server 2013 for Embedded windows application development

    Can I use Team Foundation Server 2013 to develop an application for an Embedded Board with WEC7 or WEC2013? Does it have all the features of the ultimate edition? For example, can I debug the application when it is running on the embedded board?

    Hi Davidlsar,
    If the source code of your project is created and managed by Visual Studio or Eclipse, then you can work with TFS 2013 since you can connect to team project in TFS via Team Explorer and then do the management. If you want to develop an application with a
    client machine which OS is WEC2013, you have to confirm whether you can install Visual Studio and use corresponding features on WEC2013.
    For the debugging problem, you might open a new thread in embedded forums for a better response. Thanks for your understanding.

    Someone is using my personal email address for their apple ID and I'm sick of it! I can't sign up for my own itunes account or anything using MY OWN email address. My email address is my property, not theirs.
    I'm using their account and will continue to reset their password and settings until they either get the message or Apple do something about it and disable or migrate their account so that I can use MY OWN email address for my own purposes.
    I don't want to be informed about Apple products and services for someone else on my email account.
    I want to be able to use it MYSELF for iTunes
    All I am asking you to do is migrate their apple ID to their alternate email account settings and free up my email address so that:
    A. I can use it and B. I stop getting messages about their account history.
    Either that or just cancel their account as they have no right to use my personal details.
    Yes I could set up a new email address but WHY THE **** should I? I've been using this email account for years for personal stuff, it's not mu fault if someone can sign it up as an AppleID without me being able to confirm their sign up process!
    Your move Apple, make it count.

    Hi Sister Kate,
    If you change the Apple ID you are using on an iPhone or other iOS device, there are several places you need to change it on the device. See this article -
    Apple ID: What to do after you change your Apple ID

    server port 9080 is in use.
    ORB bootstrap port 2809 is in use.
    SOAP connector port 8880 is in use.
    change each used port number to another unused port on the ports page of the server configuration editor. In case u have another websphere server running , you can try to increase each used port number by one and try again.please solve this problem

    Nothing at all to do with struts.
    Some of the ports that WSAD wants to use are already in use.
    Maybe you have a copy of websphere running already?
    If so stop that one, and try running again.

  • How to use central output server in JSP application

    Dear All,
    We have developed a jsp application which is running on JBoss.We want to create receipts in PDF format.For this we are using central output server.Our approach is as follows:
    When request comes from the user, we are generating .dat file by fetching data from the Oracle database depending upon credentials and then pushing this file into data folder of Central output server.From there we are waiting for PDF file in predefined path.Here we found this is asynchronous way of producing receipts.
    Is there any other way that is synchronous or the way we are approaching is the only way of doing it.A sample would be of immense help.
    Note:The concurrent hits would be around 5000 in a peak hour.Any help would be highly appreciated.

    I don't think you can get things to operate in a synchronous manner. You have one application - perhaps running on a totally separate server - feeding data files to a different application. The only way to make it even semi-sychronous would be to throttle the JSP application in some way to prevent it from placing a new file into Central's data folder while there was already one there.
    I assume your problem is knowing which PDF belongs to which user. If that is the case you could send some type of unique identfier (IP#?) as a "job" parameter that would then be used as the specific PDF file name instead of letting Central create a random file name.
